I want to get into toy photography. Which toy line or series has the best toy photo community? I collect imports but I am curious to see which one has cool people.

I've noticed that the nendo community seem to be the most active and supportive.

1/12 pocs community

Adding Nendos too, for their size and sometimes limited posing people really take great pictures of them.

Also Dollfie Dreams, some of the landscape heavy pictures of them on Flickr are gorgeous.
If they aren't too uncanny valley for you, some BJD photographers are pretty good too.
They lean more towards realism though and both are hard to get into since most people can't afford just buying a nice looking doll on the whim.

Is there a platform you prefer?
Flickr is great if you want to have big pictures in proper file quality, but community there is pretty much dead.
Instagram is easier to get into but it rapes the picture quality.
Regular photography platforms tend to not be very open towards toy photographers.

Probably nendos or black series star wars. Also, there are a lot of cool toy photographers on Instagram but it's hard to have actual discussions on there if you crave more in-depth guides/forum-style talk/etc. There are a lot of nendo/figma photographers on MFC as well, and many will post "journal entries" about how they craft scenes/set-ups/props/etc.

MFC also has a group specifically for toy photographers: http://myfigurecollection.net/club/75_figurine_photography

If you look in their forums they have a photo forum with a weekly themed photo contest (figurefridaychallenge).

Also here's an example of the tutorial-style "journals" some more experienced photographers will post: http://myfigurecollection.net/blog/29941

Nendoroids has the most fun community. The problem with Star Wars / Marvel stuff is that it eventually drifts to acba which is its own thing. Either you love em or hate em.

Cupoche is a new niche that's jist starting but it seems most active on Japanese Twitter.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
