>>
>>6121671
It's a year and a half old now, and had several VERY popular characters. Pizza, daredevil, and 2099 were flying off the pegs when it was fresh, now that it's out of circulation all bets are off. I've heard the chinese bootleg of pizza spidey is decent for the price, but you might wanna just pay the piper now.

Also, Is that the figuarts mk III? How is he, I loved the mk 6 but I've been pretty disappointed with the newer suits past the IM3 ones.

>>
>>6122463
It wasn't just that, they'd marked them up significantly as well, then claimed they were "damaged cases" that they wouldn't have shipped to people otherwise.

>>6121996
You're gonna have to elaborate. Did they come off in a way that makes them impossible to place them back on?

Because Kamala's forearms are able to be removed to swap out for the embiggened arms, and ML heads are for the most part easily removable.
>>
>>6122218
Fuck, I already bought the Star Lord from this set a few months ago but for that price I'd kinda still like to get the rest of them.

>>6123058
Holy crap! That's awesome!
>>
>>6122633
For $40, that set is a steal. You get BAF with better designs, a bigger, bulkier Drax, comic Gamora, a once SDCC-exclusive Starlord (with brown boots, I think is the only change, and a ton of accessories.
>>
>>6122218
Damn, and I'm broke right now! I kinda wanted Gamora only, anyway.
>>
What are some good stands for Marvel Legends?
>>
>>6123343
And a new Rocket head as well. No moving mouth, but I like it.
>>
>>6123476
For regular stands, you can always use the Build-a-Floor that came with the Epic Heroes Legends. For flight or posing stands, I use Stage Act 4 stands.
>>
>>6123476
>>6123551
Note that some newer MLs have inconsistent peg-hole sizes, occasionally rendering those floors useless. SW BS past the first couple of waves also have too-small of foot pegs for those floors.
>>
Anybody on the east coast U.S. spotted the Sandman wave anywhere?
>>
>>6121671

>>
>>6124063
Like I said in a previous post, elaborate. What specifically is wrong? Is it too loose to stay in? Did it come off in a way that it's not supposed to?

Because that figure is supposed to have easily removed arms at the elbows to swap out for embiggened arms.

I heard that there is a way to improve the Pizza Spidey hips.
Is this true and if so how do you do it?
>>
>>6124523
Not worth the trouble, very likely to fuck something up. Essentially you heat it up enough to pop the legs off, and cut the blue plastic at the top part of the hip joint. You should see an outline to follow. Be sure to avoid cutting the red plastic inside the socket, that'll loosen the hips
>>
>>6124530
>Not worth the trouble, very likely to fuck something up
It's not hard at all and a big improvement, actually.
>>
>>6124535
I just remember a lot of people having trouble. Whether they wouldn't have enough heat and would break the plastic, end up warping parts and having stress marks, or cutting into that red plastic and ending up with loose hips. Then again, maybe people are just retarded.
>>
>>6124540
The plastic provides an outline, basically. The area to remove is pretty easy to spot. I didn't even pop the legs off of mine and managed to Dremel it out in a couple of minutes.
>>
>>6124329
WHERE'S THE OTHER THREE????
>>
>>6122621
It's not the forearm, it's the whole arm. It goes back in, but it just sort of popped out randomly.
>>
>>6124530
I was planning on doing it to the Iron Fist figure that uses the same body not Spidey himself.
Do you still think it would be worth it without the colours to help stop me from fucking it up?
>>
>>6124550
I wouldn't be surprised if they make a 4 pack (Plus Herbie) eventually.
>>
>>6124561
You shouldn't really need to, he came out long after they started fixing the hips. I can still see a little bit of the offending plastic in there, but his range is way better than OG pizza spidey.

And while I really do like Spectacular, the 90s cartoon will always be my favorite, even with all it's flaws. It was the most accurate to the comics, and still has the best Venom ever. And so many crossovers which was awesome. I loved the multiverse shenanigans at the end as a kid.

I popped the top off mine, cracked the abdomen apart, and shaved some plastic away from the area surrounding the torso peg on the lower body to give it more clearance. That gave me maybe 1-2 degrees more tilt in every direction. Not a whole lot, but better than nothing. In hindsight I should have shaved more out, but that was as much as I was comfortable removing at the time.

Marvel Legends have been getting stranger and stranger where a whole wave is basically shelf warming short of one or two charterers.
Absorbing Man it was Spider Gwen and Venom
Giant man it was Black Panther
Abomination Wave was MCU Scarlet Witch
Juggernaut it was Deadpool
Space Venom it was- ok that one was just a dud wave
Dormammu it was MCU Dr.Strange

Titus looks like Angela and Darkhawk. The MCU GotG I'm not seeing goijnjg over well since two of them have been offer before and they clogged shelves then as well
Warlock I'm not sure. People want that Cyclops but is it enough to move the whole wave?
>>
>>6126430
I don't understand the stores near me sometimes.
We have friggin so much Giant man waves that it's ridiculous, they restocked it like twice already, but then they only got 1 order of Juggernaut, and Jean and Havok have been sitting there by themselves for weeks. And the spider-man shelf is a mish mash of the spider-women from hobgoblin wave, and absorbing man villains.
>>
>>6126430
I really am a little worried. Like, shelfwarming is a meme now, but this is gonna be the third year with close to a wave every month and a half. If retail really is driving this proverbial car, that can't be good.

>Warlock I'm not sure. People want that Cyclops but is it enough to move the whole wave?
Yeah, I basically only want him and maaaybe the baf. I have a shitton of legends, and even I'm shrugging at the majority of the next couple waves.

Rhino it was Chameleon but that was thanks to his accessories. That said that wave was a little stronger with only the girls as weak additions. Still most of it is still easy to find.

They already made one back in the dark days of Hasbro MLs. That said, a redux of that figure with the newer molds would be more than welcome.

Personally I'm buying it as a base for a Conquest Ultron instead, which is easy enough to pull off with a bit of modding/repainting here and there.

>spread it out amongst the waves so that stores will buy waves
Except they arnt. Some Walmarts around me have the same Odin wave they have had since early 2015.

>and people have to buy a bunch of shit characters to get a BAF
This is such a logical phalacy, because people DONT BUY FIGURES FOR THE BAF PART. The legions of sentry, machine man, Hawkeye figures speak to that.

Meanwhile, Hasbro releases a figure with extra accessories, no BAF part, and its a HUGE success. Do they take notice? NOPE.

They would be better off dumping the BAF parts and including more accessories with every figure and then release one "deluxe" or "oversized" figure per wave as opposed to including BAF parts and shorting people on accessories.
>>
>>6121665
Checklist anon, are you still around? If you've got a new version feel free to post it so I can toss it in the next thread. You're a big help btw.

>>6127142
>people DONT BUY FIGURES FOR THE BAF PART. The legions of sentry, machine man, Hawkeye figures speak to that.
I mean, I feel like you're cherrypicking here because king thor was the shittiest BAF in recent memory. Of course people aren't buying shelfwarmers to complete him. Every completed hulkbuster laying around somewhere is proof that people do, because god knows none of those figures were going to move otherwise. I personally picked up at least one or two figures I never would have otherwise to finish sandman, rhino, dormammu, giant man, etc.

The baf gimmick absolutely works, it just hinges on the baf being desirable. It's predatory, and might have negative effects on the line as a whole, but it works.
>>
>>6127331
Definitely true. It works really well when there are like 2-3 really great figures and a good BAF. Honestly, I still haven't completed my Odin BAF yet. I still need the piece that comes with the Thor figure, but since I basically have the same figure but cooler looking from the Return of marvel legends wave I can't seem to get myself to buy him. He's also the one I've yet to see go for cheaper than retail..

OK, but there are still legions of pegwarmers from the other waves, misty knights, mocking bird, ect, from ALL the waves.
>>
>>6127142

Hasbro calculates sales figures by assortments, not individually. They've said time and again that they cost out an entire wave. Which is why in any given wave a character with a huge baf part or a ton of accessories will be balanced out with another one or two with barely anything or is a cheap repaint.

BAF works because it entices fans to buy a full series rather than cherrypick Deadpool or whoever. More so than accessories. They may sell more Punishers with a bajillion guns but who is gonna buy more of Whirlwind, no matter how much stuff he may come with.

You know who you should get mad at? 1) Scalpers for buying all the hot picks and preventing legitimate fans from buying a full baf assortment, and 2) stores for treating these like TVs and glut ordering when hype is up, not realising these work by having limited demand across multiple waves.
>>
>>6127386
Thanks, famalam. Also if anyone knows of anything I missed in the op feel free to mention it.

>>6127413
Yeah, but you're always going to have pegwarmers. Those characters wouldn't have moved no matter what they were packaged with. My point is that the included baf part definitely helped them sell more than they would have otherwise. I sort of feel like we're talking about two different things here, pegwarming in general vs the baf idea.

I'd be down with them ditching the BAF gimmick entirely and doing premium figures like you said, but then there's no way the nobodies would get made. Lines like marvel select or marvel figuarts end up only doing the safe, heavy hitters, and while I like their product, I hate how little of it there is. Having a very wide focus is one of the best things about the marvel legends line. The retail situation sucks, but as long as you can buy online you get the best of both worlds.

>BAF works because it entices fans to buy a full series rather than cherrypick Deadpool or whoever.
But it doesnt, go look at the legends section of your local walmart. There will be 3 or 4 figures that peg warm no matter if they come with a unique BAF or not.

>who is gonna buy more of Whirlwind, no matter how much stuff he may come with.
Your telling me if Cyclone had come with some cool effect parts or vanity items, he wouldn't have sold better? Of course it would have. It didn't sell not because people didn't know who he was, lots of people buy figures with no knowledge of their lore He didn't sell because he was BORING.
>>
>>6127476
>I sort of feel like we're talking about two different things here, pegwarming in general vs the baf idea.

The point I'm trying to make, is that including better accessories with figures would add more value and appeal than simply requiring you to buy a figure that you don't want, simply to complete a BAF.

Take this an example, if Cottonmouth had come with an extra snarling, open mouth head, and some other vanity item, say a suitcase with money in it or some other generic bad guy item, I would have bought that for sure. What we got, was boring figure with an arm that I can get just as easily on ebay, or a facebook sales thread for $5.
>>
>>6127489
>>6127504
I guess we'll just have to disagree. The extent of my familiarity with cottonmouth was him and the other serpents jobbing in emh, and I don't think more stuff would have sold me on him, no matter what else he came with. My primary deciding factor was amazon dropping him to ten bucks and thinking "hey, I've got the magneto head and half of onslaught's parts".

>with an arm that I can get just as easily on ebay, or a facebook sales thread for $5.
The really interesting thing here is that most of the baf parts I see on ebay are clearly from people who bought the figure to sell that part. There may be a middleman involved, but that figure still came off a peg because of the baf part.
>>
>>6127541
>My primary deciding factor was amazon dropping him to ten bucks and thinking

See? This is my point, he had to go on 50% clearance for you to even consider buying him, BAF part or not.
>>
I guess what I'm really saying is that they would be better off focusing on making each individual release higher quality than leaning on a BAF part to make sales.
>>
>>6127564
That still doesn't check out, because there were a ton of other legends on sale for the same price that I skipped on because I didn't want the care about the baf. I have the SDCC abomination so I'm not gonna bite on wonder man even at 8.50 or whatever. Absorbing man is weak, so ditto for him and morbius/jack. Price is a factor, but I'm not spending money for two things I don't care about.

I definitely see where you're coming from, but I'm getting the impression you're ignoring half of what I'm saying here.
>>
>>6127612
>That still doesn't check out, because there were a ton of other legends on sale for the same price that I skipped on because I didn't want the care about the baf

Thats exactly the point im trying to make, the inclusion of the BAF part wasnt enough to entice you to buy it, even at a reduced cost.

>if Cottonmouth had come with an extra snarling, open mouth head, and some other vanity item, say a suitcase with money in it or some other generic bad guy item, I would have bought that for sure.
Most still won't for those extra bells and whistles anon. Eel had two sets of hands Morbius had a swapable cape, Jack o Lantern was decked with assessors, Brother Voodoo, Speed Demon, Nuke and many others were loaded with extra accessories and parts and none of them sold well and all listed are $9 or less clearances. Obscure is obscure accessories be damned.
>>6127618
Well it does work however, cases are bought and sold for select figures and Hulkbuster, Gaint Man Ultron and Thanos waves showed that if the hypes there for the baf people will cash out to build the figure. Ultron wave was hard as fuck to find back when it drop because the hype for AoU was still there. And that was garbage wave.

Well, we got Death's head II coming out, we saw his prototype, and Death's head did show up in the latest issue of Nova. So maybe?

I really hope for a Thor wave- I could see them doing

Ragnarok Hemsthor
Repack SDCC Hela
BAF Gladiator Hulk

Who I want:
Comics Sif
Beta Ray Bill
Jane Foster Thor
Heimdall

Hel, I'd love a new Malekith, or even Skurge

I want a new Beta Ray Bill so bad. I don't think there'd be any other Thor characters for me to care about getting, just him.
>>
>>6130241
I'd be down with all of these, though I'm really pulling for bill and foster.

I could see Skurge getting a figure for sure. Maybe even Hercules.
>>
>>6130241
You know what, a loki reissue would be pretty good too. I got into legends too late for the avengers 1 version, and he's a pain in the ass to get now.
>>
>>6130303
Not likely, they re-issued him recently in the European exclusive Hulkbuster "Best Of" wave.
I'd love a new version of him, not a big fan of the first.
>>
>>6130303
Even if we don't get a reissue of movie Loki, I still think it'd be nice if we got a new comics Loki.
>>
The Mezco One:12 line usually has 2-3 versions of a character, but we're only getting one version of Spider-Man?

Those sneakers sorta kill it for me... I don't like the articistic liberties Mezco makes, they should stick to being more faithful to the comic art.
>>
>>6130241
Would love a Beta Ray Bill, but we've never gotten a Thor wave for any of the movies

Does it though? I've never completed a BAF figure. I immediately recognized it for a scam.

I just got my Ult Spidey figure
I want to make some webs for him
I'm thinking if I take some white string and twist it I can make decent webs but I'm not sure if there would be anything to put on the string to make it stay twisted and be a solid or at least firm
maybe some super glue lightly brushed on there?
Any ideas?

>>6130586
If you have any of those plastic-coated metal ties they use for packaging in some toys, you can just wrap them around themselves.
>>
>>6130590
>>6130590
That would work
I'd have to wait til I have some though
>>

You can burn the fuzzy stuff off of pipe cleaners and wrap a few of those together and paint them the color of his webs and they come out nicely.

I personally want Darcy, but I suspect I'm the only one. Too minor a character to get a figure anyway.
>>

They've done a lot of spider man villains throughout the more recent waves, but have not touched some of the famous ones in a while. Depending on how the Vulture BAF goes, it's possible you just have to wait a little longer for a modern Doc Ock.

It wouldn't even be that hard to do. Just giver her a new head mold, ultimate jessica drew's body, and then some rubber spiked belts/bracelets. Maybe new boot molds with the spikes. I'd also love tosee an alternate mouth open head, but that's just me wishing.
>>
>>6131547
Speaking of, how many more Spider-Men/Spidey outfits can they make that will sell?
I'm sure we'll get another movie Spidey or two, an Iron Spider hopefully, maybe an original Spock suit? Bag-Man might be possible now that we've got at least Sue being made. A new Kaine would be nice, too.

Noir got a 3.75 inch figure, so he's possible, same with House of M and armored Spidey.
Some other ones I can think of in pic related.
>>
>>6131556
Iron spider and a new kaine with modern hips are at the top of my list, but I can't really think of many actual spiders, mostly just villains. If the legends team has proven anything though, it's that they can pump out spider waves in their sleep.

Oddly enough, the completely out-of-place belt that came with cable is a perfect fit for that gun. It feeds from the left though so he gets a facefull of bullets if you try to have him aiming it.

Spiderverse is cancer. It promotes mold reuse on Hasbro's part, and at some point the endless clones of Spiderman kind of turn itself into self-parody. The recent Spider Brexit, Ashley Barton Spiderwoman, etc already pushing the limit and you guys cannot be satisfied.

There are tons more characters who deserve a figure than bottom of barrel literal who Spiderman clones. There are key members of Xmen such as Psylocke, Gambit, classic Storm who haven't had a good figure ever.
>>
>>6131608
Hasbro is ALWAYS going to release some sort of Spiderman with their Spiderman. At least spiderverse means it's possible for it to not be the same Spiderman every time.

>and you guys cannot be satisfied.
And I'm fairly certain that those anons are only talking about more Spidermen not because they necessarily crave more, but just because we all know Hasbro is going to keep releasing them. If they're happening anyway, we may as well speculate and hope for some interesting ones.
>>
Anyone know how to safely remove his chest harness?
>>
>>6131608
Those were just things I made for fun. I don't expect them to actually release waves of just spider people. Like the other anon said, if they're gonna have some sort of spider-man/woman in every wave, it's nice that we get a different one every time. Just have one or two with a bunch of spidey villains.
And you say mold reuse, but just in this last wave we got 3 new molds. It's not like Spider-Man is the reason they were reusing molds, they've always done that because they're cheap.

I only want a Japanese Spider-man with a tiny spider and a submachine gun to make a duo of emissaries from hell with Ghost Rider but he wouldn't lend itself well to mold reuse so bleh.

Play Arts Kai has probably the best (posable) figure of Carnage I've seen, which is pretty sad in terms of its predecessors considering this is essentially a limited edition palette-swap of their Venom figure.
I'm probably gonna preorder the revoltech Venom because muh articulation, but in terms of bang-for-buck, what other kino-tier symbiote figures should I keep my eyes out for?

Kino tier? The only other amazing figure I can think of is the Marvel Select Carnage. Amazing sculpt, really tall, not that expensive, and a ton of accessories, and he also has better articulation than most selects, including ankle pivots.

Other than that, there's the Venom and Anti-Venom selects that have amazing sculpts, but really bad articulation.

That is bombastic

In a naive move I've always kept my searches and purchases on or near a 1/6 scale, but I'd be mad not to pick that one up, especially since I've got my mind on the revoltech venom.

pic related was what I had in mind when it came to comparing quality of previous figures

>>6131987
un-uh. nope. not havin' any pants 'round here. psylocke had better be a purple swimsuit slut on the moonstone mold.
>>
>>6129450
Sorry if this reply is late but, while I don't own any HT Wolverines, I've read enough discussions between various 1/6 collectors and it seems that generally his DOFP figure is treated as the best due to having the best head sculpt for Hugh Jackman.

I heard that while the suited figure from "The Wolverine" is also great (mainly due to the multiple accessories like the katana especially), the paint apps on his stubble got a little too heavy-handed on the final product which deterred a lot of collectors.

That said, if you can find his X3 figure for cheap then that's also a decent choice, but I wouldn't pay above its original price.
>>
>>6132040
Wow that actually fits surprisingly well with the Icons Venom and it makes me tempted for it. I only got the original PAK Venom and yeah, I'd say that mold is definitely one of the best figures they've put out.

>>6132065
Since I've always wanted a figure of him based on his modern appearances, I personally got that Carnage mainly for the Clayton Crain-style head akin to his appearance from Carnage USA. Great figure all around.
>>
>>6132021
The regular release ends up being the same price because it's a Tamashii Web exclusive.
>>
A Walmart a little ways away from me had Carol, Hawkguy, Sentry and Machine Man on a small clearance aisle with a bright yellow $5 sticker on them. They all scan for $15, but they can reduce the price down at the register.
