$100 chair edition

(previous thread >>6109596)
>>
I really like the chair, but it smells like some of those "shipped from our web, USA only" kind of deal.

Aaaand thread ruined.

How do you mean? Do other larger Necas usually only get US releases?

>>6121502
Hooooo buddy, we got a ways to go man
>>
>>6121496

It'll be solicited to other places just like all the other display pieces were. I don't know why you would even think that.
>>
>100 dollar chair will SURELY sell and not

- King Kong skull island figures
- tekken figures
- the warriors figures (toooo nicheee but not a chair)
- armored batman from bvs (yes 'you know who' i am mentioning it again)
- district 9 figures
>>
>>6121528

Oh boy, it's this faggot again.
>>
>>6121496
The throne wall and the AvP towers are mass retail, I dont see why this wouldn't be either.
>>
>>6121489

Is this seriously $100?

We've come a long way from when you could get an entire Cenobite lair with four figures for less than the price of one chair.

Seeing as Toy fair is coming soon, yeah, that would make the most sense.
>>

are you kidding me? $100? For a fucking chair? It made out of real xeno bones or what/.
>>
>>6121632
The price has not been advertised yet.
>>
>>6121528
I wouldn't want any of that shite.
A cool display piece is fairly uncommon in the 7" scale so it's more than welcome. It's also clearly a labor of love for whoever sculpted it, but I doubt anyone at neca's office are begging to sculpt Warrior #3 or Gon from Tekken

I'm getting pretty tired of the AvP getup (I have 6 extremely similar looking dudes on my shelf) but Neca have got me by the balls this time.

Serpent hunter is one of my most wanted predators after Scarface, who turned out to be arguably the best predator they've ever released.

I think I'll draw the line after this wave. Gotta have AvP elder for dat cloth cape.
>>
My mantis alien has an incredibly loose joint at the elbow where it can't even hold the arms up. It's really inhibiting my enjoyment of the figure because it's so top heavy it's hard for the figure to support standing without help from the arms, and when you take one of those away it becomes nearly impossible.

It feels like a floppy mess all over the place but if the one elbow wasn't so bad it would take care of the other issues. I'm going to have to wind up buying a stand just for this figure to display it.

#cucked by Bandai?

Either way, I won't be spending $60 on 6~ inch jaegers.
>>
>>6122022

Not likely, because even if Bandai did have the license, it'd only be for Japan/Asia or whatever. Not the United States.
>>
>>6122021
Yeah, it's either gonna be their dollar store shit, or whatever company is making the dollar store looking Kong figures.
Sucks man.

>>6122022
That shouldnt apply if youre referring to monsterarts and figuarts, since THAT part of bandai is from Japan. Like how bandai is making 5"-6" TMNT figures and Marvel figurarts despite Playmates and Hasbro owning the master license. It's cus it's different regions. That's why they get to make those and NECA has to do quarter scale TMNT and Marvel stuff.

So yeah, we might get PR2 stuff from bandai, but that wouldnt effect what's going on here. A different american toy company is probably getting a PR2 deal, and what other mass producing american toy company can do it better than NECA? none. Sucks.

>>
>>6121489
100 is a bit too much honestly. But if they drop at least 20$-ish I'd jump it.
>>
>>6122146
The alien queen was 100, there is no way you can justify a chair would cost the same. And that's coming from an actual neca flag waving fantard like me.
>>
>>6122147

I don't care what you are, shit doesn't get cheaper just because you think it should. This is the world we live in now, materials cost money, more than they used to.
>>
>>6122150
It's also notably less plastic and original sculpting than the alien queen. It's not even articulated either. You cannot believe that should be 100$, no matter how hard you try to be oblivious to the truth.
>>
>>6122155

If it is $100, it's $100 for a good reason. It doesn't have to be articulated for the materials to cost more, dipshit. Try looking into statues, you might learn something.
>>
>>6122155
>less plastic
>assuming it's made out of plastic

Considering all of these display pieces have been a resin or polystone or some similar build, they're always much heavier, sturdier display pieces You're making a major leap in logic to assume it's plastic.

>>
No Kong Skull Island, no Pacific Rim 2, no Toho outside of Godzilla, is NECA being cheapskates on licensing, or did Pacific Rim/Godzilla really not do too well for them to consider the sequels?
>>
>>6122296
It's not them being 'cheap,' especially if the studios start jacking up the prices on licensing.

and Toho's a bitch to deal with anyway, I wouldn't want to have to deal with multiple licenses from them either. Godzilla alone sounds like a pain in the ass.
>>
>>6122285
Clan Leader
Scarface
Scar
Chopper
Celtic

The new stuff shits all over the old stuff

I recently got into collection Predator figures about a month ago. I feel like I am a little spoiled in the selection I can choose from. So far I have picked up..
Scarface
Clean Leader
Stalker
Spiked Trail
Predator (1989 video game appearance)

So far my favorite by far are the Scarface and
Clean Leader. The ultimate Predator / Predator 2 figures look pretty amazing a well. Any tips for new comers?

>>
>>6123289

Valve's possibly pulling the stick out of it's ass and we may be getting the rest soon.
>>
>>6122360
Just get the pillars when they go to the bargin bin like the blade fighter
>>
>>6122986
All AvP Preds have about the same quality you saw on Scarface, Temple Guard and Chopper having most accessories, also, all AvP Preds have interchangeable hand, so if you have more than one you can swap their hands for better posing (maybe you want one of them holding two spear or with closed fists).
The older figures are pretty nice, but the new Ultimate bodies they are making for Jungle and City Hunter are better, still, if you want one of the old ones they are still cool, just be aware that some of them cost a fuckton of money today.

Oh, do get a Xeno if you can to fight your Preds, the AvP Warrior has damn good articulation.
>>
>>6123348

Nice assuming there, bro.
>>
>>6123348
I'm not complaining about their price. I was just saying that thinking the chair will be <$50 is naive. $100 is too much. I'd guess it will be $50 like the pillars.
>>
>>6123389

Considering the size and elaborate nature of it, it's $80 AT LEAST. If it somehow comes out less than that, that'd be great, but I doubt it.

Just got the dog alien, it's pretty damn cool, however I don't think it's as good a figure as the new warrior. My dog alien has a didgy mouth however its articulation is great but I really miss the hinged fingers and toes.
Besides the two I already have and the queen, are there any other "must haves" in the alien line?

AHA, here's some evidence

He further says in the comments It was "a picture of my own personal toy collection with non neca related items, was taken as a leak but all cleared up now! Thanks!"

BUT the picture he was talking about was a picture of an unfinished figure, and the description he wrote specifically said it was a teaser for toyfair. His cover story is a BS
>>
>>6123794
Wasn't a teaser. The guy who runs the NECA ig fucked up and posted his own toy.
>>
>>6123802

>>
>>6123799

Shows what an idiot you are, then. People did buy the blade fighter, and people do buy the displays too. People not liking AvP hadn't stopped them from buying the figures, it sure as hell isn't going to stop them from buying Xenomorph related pillars to flesh out their collection displays.
>>
>>6123794
>>6123801
>>6123802
>>6123810
If we take his story as true, then what is his personal account? What was the image of? Why didn't he redirect people and clear it up? Why is there now no trace of the photo at all? It's obvious bullshit, a Neca SW line is upon us, let us rejoice.
>>
>>6123821

I would argue the power loader is a glorified display piece and that sold well it seems. They can't all be winners, but people who have the money are definitely supporting these higher cost items or they wouldn't keep doing them.
>>
>>6123799
>id be surprised if people bought pillars, especially from AvP which most fans tend to hate.

Obviously they aren't going to be super popular, but I imagine just Neca just made a limited quantity of them to account for that. Its something a lot of people were screaming for on their twitter.
>>
>>6123853

Oh they're limited. They're always limited, even the trophy wall was only like a couple thousand or somesuch.

There was also the Apes Lawgiver statue they did.
>>
>>6123788
That'd be a sweet wave of 3, although that further kills any possible chance of RoboDutch and especially Kurosawa (who they may not even have rights to anyway)

As much as I dig them they also might just be too similar to standard Preds to work--they're basically just Jungle and City Hunters, and Hunter has inconsistencies between being masked/unmasked (but I'd like the toy to be unmasked as I don't have an unmasked City Hunter body yet). Mad Pred should be on the AVP body or reuse parts of Bad Blood (skull shoulders, knees).

Oh and Warrior would basically take care of a Jaguar AVP Pred
>>

Sheesh man, way to be an ass

good to hear.
>>

We all know Reaction figs are shit but I love this color scheme; what is its exact source and how long before we get it in a NECA?
>>
>>6124014
> Reaction figs are shit
Only if you actually play with them.
This is going to sound pretentious as fuck but I believe they're one of the rare cases where a toy is actually supposed to be treated as a piece of "art". The idea that these violent and R-rated movies would have gotten toys made back in the day was unthinkable, because a), people only expected kids to buy and play with toys and b), marketing movies like Pulp Fiction and Nightmare on Elm Street to kids would've been met with outrage. (Nightmare actually did get toys made, but nevermind).
It's all supposed to be ironic or an interesting "what if" scenario..but because these are a throwback to action figures of the 80s and 70s that weren't very good by today's standards, their actual "play" value is nill.

Sorry for the autistic rant...I had a lot of coffee and meds today.

But they did. That's the thing about the line I don't get. The idea is what if these violent movies got toy lines, but most of them did.

The Alien figures that started the line at least have the justification of being actual unreleased cancelled figures, but most of their other licenses seem to be forgetting the kind of violent shit that got toys, and are in fact of franchises that did get genuine toy lines back in the day.

Went back to TRU to see if they still had 'em but they were sold out, so I had to grab it off their site. Free shipping so whatever.

Also it's 2017, why are we still talking about jin?

>>
>>6127278
Elizabeth wa notorious for goofy eyes, but other than that she's pretty good.
>>
>>6127524
You put it between the joints. The idea is that it builds up a layer of additional friction. Look at the joint and see where the joint actually moves. That's where the Pledge goes.
>>
>>6127524
Pins can pop out too. Heat that shit up.

Apparently NECA's prepping a new wave of figures for T2: 3D, and the T2 Ultimates will be rereleased, along with a few new Ultimate T-800s (Smelting pool, Dyson House) and Ultimate T-1000 (Liquid Metal, Nitrogen Freeze).
>>

Watch every single toy store site you can think of. Check them every single day multiple times. It'll either clearance cheaper and you win or it'll go outta stock and you pay through the nose on the after market.
>>
Anyone else disappointed by Gorilla? I mean for one he's too skinny compared to the original toy and due to his head can't make a proper "crawling" pose.
>>
>>6128045
This is why you use Pledge. Superglue runs the risk of locking the joint, and dries all white and shitty looking. Pledge is water soluble so if you fuck up, just wash it off.

>>
>>6132579
different types of rights cost different amounts of money.
>>
>>6129644
IMO:
> Must have
Clan Leader
Lava Planet
Stalker GITD
Spiked Tail

> Nice to have but not essential
Viper
Renegade (either version)
Cracked Tusk (good sculpt but he needed an unmasked head)
Ghost (pearly plastic is cool but not enough different from a standard JH)

> Into the trash it goes
Nightstorm
Scavage

Both Nightstorm and Scavage are Super Predator moulds so they still have cut hips, the paint on Scavage's hair is super thick and gloppy, and their ankles are rubbery so they have issues standing. Just bad figures all around.
>>
>>6132692
I like my Nightstorm, but only because I never really had any problems with the Super Predator molds. That said, what makes the figure stand out for me is the pseudo-Egyption look it has going for it.
>>
>>6132505
Vasquez for an actual badass looking marine, Hudson for the hilarious "GAME OVER MAAN" face, the alien warrior from Aliens is fine imo, but there are better Xeno figures if you don't mind mixing marines with the Dog Alien or the AvP Warrior.
>>
>>6132692
What about Hive Wars?
>>
>>6132973

>>
>>6132692
As someone that is autistic enough to have them all, I can agree with this list.

>Cracked Tusk (good sculpt but he needed an unmasked head)

This would've been amazing, I wasn't too sure on this guy but once I actually got it on my hands I simply loved his color scheme. Plus the accessories are good enough to make him stand out from Lava Planet.

My Nightstorm and Scavage aren't that bad and their color schemes are really cool but having the Super Pred mold seriously limits their poseability. So yeah.

Speaking of, does any of the current bodies allows for decent kneeling/crouching poses?

The Revoltech seems to pull it off pretty well, but it's so horribly proportioned, and I'd prefer to have one in 7 inch scale.

I see NECA's releasing an Ultimate Jungle Predator soon, so I'll probably wait for that and see what it's capable of

I don't mean to get you down, but don't hold out hope for that new Jungle Hunter. Much as I love them all, I still get a bit cautious handling the hip joints on a lot of my NECA collection and most of their Alien/Predator stuff tend to have loose hips save for the rare outstanding occasions like their Dog Alien.

Dont own any terminator so I can't say there, my Ultimate Ash is fine so far but every one of my Jason's has loose hips, and my part 1 and 3 ultimate freddys have loose hips. I haven't moved my leatherfaces legs much or my new nightmare freddys because they feel like theyll just go the way of my other loose hipped figures.

With the human figures I'd say it's hit and miss.
>>
>>6135043
It's hardly an accountable information, giving the fact that it's my sole experience, but my Ultimate T-800 is preddy damn sturdy, most of the Terminator figures i've seen so far seem to be so, but then again, none have double joints on the legs or that much hip articulation.
My Aliens and Predators are fine too, but i've seen wably ones in the past.
>>
>>6134968

That's exactly what happened me.
I watched it when it was younger and just remembered it as the sequel to predator 1 set in the city. Then I watched it again and realized it's half the film the first one was and was honestly kinda cringy half the time. I hated the predator finishing glovers sentence for no reason.

>Happened to happened to 6 of my NECA figures already
>"You're a moron if you think that'll happen. Hands downs completely stupid"

You're getting really defensive about something you don't know shit about.
It's also not that uncommon of reviewers to mention how they have loose hips on their figures, or that they feel like they're getting looser as they move them.

I love NECA, I just pointed out a flaw and hope they fix it, goddamn.

Oh jesus, that looks really off to me, the section between his eyes is like a mile wide.

Also he seems to share a similar issue I had with masked Scar where the armor pieces don't match up in terms of color. That torso piece is distinctly more brown and lighter overall than the waist, shoulder and wrist armor.

My masked Scar has a bright silver mask compared to the darker armor on the rest of his body. Not a huge deal but kind of strange that the paint apps change like that from one part of the figure to another.
>>
>>6135509
What country?

What's wrong with his eyes?
>>
>>6135566

Nothing at all. You're looking at it from an angle.

>Not a huge deal but kind of strange that the paint apps change like that from one part of the figure to another.

Because that's accurate to the props.
>>
>>6135573
Source? I've watched the making of AvP and that color variation isn't apparent on the on-set costumes.
>>
>>6135603

Lighting plays a BIG difference in how you see that.
>>
>>6134968
The best thing about that movie is that the whole reason the Pred sticks around is that Danny Glover is a dirty kill stealer.
>>
>>6135609
Uhh.. okay? That's not a source.

Even under the bright studio lights, there was no noticeable difference between Scar's mask and his armor like there is on the Neca figure.
>>
>>6135620

Source is the actual props dude, look up the pics.

So with NECA making as Ultimate Gizmo you think we'll get an Ultimate Stripe? The one from the first movie?
I'd rather have that one than an Ultimate Mohawk from the second movie, even though that'd be more likely since that guy already has a more updated sculpt.
>>
>>6135652

Mohawk is coming already, so, yes, we are getting him. As for Stripe, who knows.
>>
>>6135655
an ultimate mohawk, they confirmed that?
>>
>>6135658

Well it's not "ultimate" necessarily. It's just a movie painted version of the NES version we got. But yes, on twitter they said it was slated for a 2017 release finally.
>>
>>6135672
Ah, didn't realize. I thought that was already a figure that was released. Havent really been keeping up with the Gremlins line, just recently decided I wanted the 2 main ones from the first movie.
thanks.

Hopefully they do a Stripe

I've looked up the pics, the armor is all the same color. Post a source or stop talking shit.

Also, the mask and armor is the same in Neca's promo pics of Scar, so even if the props were various shades of metal, it's clearly not an intentional design choice by Neca.

Scar's mask is NOT supposed to have that slight hint of green which makes it differ from the rest of his armor.

I just got Clan Leader in today too.
Mine can be pulled apart at the waist, but it's such a nonissue since it's not actually breaking. I'd rather a joint pop out then for it to snap. And mine isn't that loose. If anything mine was a little too tight when he came in. Trying to break in his thigh swivels was nightmarish, but I eventually got them.

I'm honestly satisfied as hell otherwise, this is only my second Predator and the first I've got on the AvP body and I already want more.
