Excellent, comprehensive RD list:
http://z11.invisionfree.com/Gundam/index.php?showtopic=81
Re-postin', just this one.
Another year of RDs has gone by! What were your favorite releases/purchases? Any disappointments?
My top 3 RD moments:
1.) Patlabor RDs! And the first release is not only excellent, but they actually included the command car! Very excited for Brocken later this year.
2.) The ANIME line as a whole! I thought I wouldn't like this line with it's more animated style, but the sculpts strike a great balance between being animated yet sharp, and the figures themselves were excellent.
3.) Ex-S RD, finally! With more Sentinel releases in the pipeline, it's a good time to get Katoki'd.
Bottom 3:
1.) Ingram Unit-2 being a web exclusive AND requiring extra hoops to jump through in order to get the command car, making it nearly impossible for us to secure the command car. Very frustrating.
2.) No release info for tons of teased prototypes such as ECOAS Jegan and Blue Destiny. Nothing new when it comes to Bandai, but still stinks.
3.) Rising prices. RDs are getting larger and/or more complicated, but the pricing seems to be outpacing the advances of the figures. I can usually ignore price tags for things I like, but some buys left me grimacing (ie nearly $100 for Barzam Custom).
>>6114327
Loved the shots in the last thread, anon. How sturdy do the Dodai's wings/tail feel?
>>6113411
Cool shot! The Heroman RD looks fun. Never watched the show, but I liked the OP/ED, haha.
In terms of non-RD mecha toylines, I am so happy with the revival of the Hi-Metal Macross line. Not only did they add significant improvements to the VF-1 mold (superior paint apps, sturdier construction/joints, brand new option parts) but they also expanded the line in awesome new directions with Zentran and Destroids! Very excited for what 2017 holds for the line.
>>6114292
Anon in the last thread was asking for thoughts on deluxe Assault Kingdom figures, in particular the Quin Mantha.
Anyone able to offer some insight?
>>6114347
> 3.) Rising prices. RDs are getting larger and/or more complicated, but the pricing seems to be outpacing the advances of the figures. I can usually ignore price tags for things I like, but some buys left me grimacing (ie nearly $100 for Barzam Custom).
Yeah, this. Last RD I bought was the Gundam MkII last year. I still plan to get at least the Qubeley, Ingram-1 and or the RGM-79.
>>6114352
2017 better give us that Valkyrie II from Macross II.
>>6114347
>3.) Ex-S RD, finally! With more Sentinel releases in the pipeline, it's a good time to get Katoki'd.
It's nice but I have a few problems with it, the biggest being the stand connection being rubbish. They should've made it a hooked connector or angled it. Because of the EX-S's weight it actually droops and slides forward very slightly sometimes and I've had it take a tumble already, into my chest luckily but you have to really fiddle and get it just right and hope it stays.
The other is using spring pins on metal joints without any sort of locking mechanism. Now the pin revolves against both parts of the joint, so to maintain a good fit the holes on both joints need to wear out exactly equally. It's my first Metal RD but it seems like it was poorly thought out. So, for example, if the elbow joint wears out it'll be loose there because the unworn forearm joint will keep the pin from expanding out.
It's a problem with the plastic RDs too but plastic has more give than metal, so the problem probably own't be as pronounced.
They're not deal breakers but it makes me worry a little bit.
>>6114374
Yes fucking please.
>>6114559
the display stand is the same style as the one used on their metal builds and have 3 levers for adjustment, perhaps you forgot to set one so that it will angle upward abit or that you did not lock one of them in place.
here's is a video of what you can do with the stand. all of the positions can lock in place.
https://youtu.be/RTtAysfX_DQ?t=547
>>6114374
>>6114609
here is the video when it talks about the display stand.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTtAysfX_DQ?t=9:06s
>>6114347
The wings (and especially tail) start out pretty thick but get skinnier towards the tips. I kept freaking out every time they got caught on a piece of fabric or whatnot but they never snapped. So at this point the best I can tell you is that they're sturdier than they look. I still wouldn't put any unneccesary pressure on the tail or wings though.
>>6114347
Gotta agree with you on the ANIME line. I'm pretty sure these 3 were the only RDs I picked up all year and I love em. Can't wait to get the RGM-79 soon.
>>6114722
Also both tails are detachable (they come detached as seen in pic related). So you can take them off before you move it around just to be safe.
>>6114327
One last thing for anyone yet to get theirs, put the foot grips with the pegs on the Gouf BEFORE you attach them to the Dodai. It makes the setup much easier and faster.
>>6114609
The connection between the grey pieces (one on the EX-S, the other connects to the stand) is only horizontal and the video shows it as much.
That's the problem part.
>>6114855
only the gray piece is horizontal plug in to the ex-s gundam , but you can adjust the angle on display stand upward 1 click, so with it combine it will not be horizontal. or even on the base 1 click.
>>6114745
Does this thing actually come with its own act stage? I see the clear parts for the arm there. I'm pleasantly surprised if it does.
>>6114979
But then the EX-S tilts up. Only the stand is hinged, the two gray pieces aren't. So the only way to have it perfectly stable on the stand is to have the entire figure tilt backwards like 30 degrees. It's nonsense.
>>6114374
most underrated valk ever
>>6115006
but you can use the other adjusters to make it less than 30 degrees, say 10 or 5?
>>6115012
No, my point is that because the connection into the EX-S itself is horizontal, I need to tilt it back a lot before it feels really stable on the stand.
There's no way to fix it because the problem isn't with the stand, it's the EX-S itself. Even if it's tilted 10 or 5 degrees it's not a huge improvement and now it's tilting back to boot.
>>6114991
That arm is for attaching the gouf to a port underneath it on the dodai, if you choose to do so. It doesn't actually come with a full stand though. I just used the Stage act 5 that I had on hand.
>>6115006
you can also put a creditcard under the front of the display base to raise the level horizontal to pretty much level but not.
I do get what you are saying, I'm just offering options
>>6115014
damn
I knew it was too good to be true.
My cheap ass doesn't really wanna buy another set but I think I need to before my dodai gets here.
>>6115024
You're gonna need it if you plan on taking pics, the Dodai really shines when it's displayed at a downward "attack" angle.
>>6115038
One last thing about the Dodai, it does a really great job of hiding the nubs. The only really visible ones are at the bottom of the landing gear. There's one on each tail but they're facing rearward and look tiny and easily removable to boot.
>>6114327
I think I'm going to get another one, paint it like pic related, and then give it to my Desert Zaku II.
>>6114374
>>6114600
Agreed! Definitely hoping for the Hi-Metal, especially after how disappointing the Evolution Toy version turned out. I would like Bandai to put a cap or something on that elbow screw, though.
>>6114559
I haven't spent enough time messing around with my Ex-S to notice those issues, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for 'em next time I do.
>>6114722
>>6114745
>>6114820
Thanks for the info, anon! Just placed an order for a Dodai and a Desert Zaku.
Are the Dodai's foot pegs compatible with other ANIME RDs, such as the Zaku variants? I would think so, since the thruster effects that plug into feet are universal for the ANIME line, but would appreciate your confirmation!
>>6117623
9/10 times random test shot colors on mecha toys are cooler than the real colors...
>>6117383
Yes the pegs will fit the Zaku.
How well have the rest of the 00 RS figs aged (Gundams in particular)? Also which version of the Arios is worth getting?
>>6114374
Still the worst looking fighter and gerwalk mode in the franchise.
>>6118603
Some have aged fairly well (00 Seven Swords, 00 Quanta, Cherudim Saga) but being older damashii, expect most of them to be undersized compared to recent releases. Also worth keeping an eye out for the new Exia R2/R3 coming soon.
>Also which version of the Arios is worth getting?
Honestly, they're all a bit floppy due to the transformation gimmick but if you had to pick one, get the Arios Ascalon if for no other reason than there will probably never be another figure made of that suit.
>>6118625
>Still the worst looking gerwalk mode in the franchise.
Nope, this one definitely steals that prize.
>>6118729
that shit looks terrible
>>6114374
I wish both Arcadia and Bandai release a 1/60 version just to show Evo Toys how to make a proper VF-2S, god damn that shit was a shitty toy.
>>6118729
>>6118729
>thumbnail
Shit still looks better than the VF-2. It at least looks like it wouldn't fall apart.
So the Patlabor timeline that matters is the TV timeline right? So we'll be getting the Griffon and all that? But no Clash Buster?
Ayy, just got my MB Astray Gold Frame. It's my first MB and it's pretty impressive. But how the heck do I get it to stand with feet on the stand? And these emblazoned stands that come with the high end figures are nice but damn they're big. I have no room to put them on my shelves unless I put away several RDs.
Oh man
>>6120630
Also I want these.
>>6120313
gold frame is probably my favorite MB so far
it has a very unique
but yeah, you probably need a display case just for MB figures
>>6120313
You should be able to adjust the stand enough to make the feet touch the standbase.
What the...
>>6121059
So MoShow didn't get shut down?
The Metal Saga one is more stylized but will need to wait for QC review.
>>6118915
They used the OVA1+Movies timeline decos for the first reveal but all the released and announced figures are currently from the TV+ OVA2 timeline. I bet we'll get figures from both especially since some are simple redecos. I'm hoping Peacemaker and Reishiki will both have their own mold though.
>>6120650
well, if you can afford multiple MB figures, a display case shouldn't be an issue
>>6121059
I havent seen A Wakening. What the fuck is that little robot?
>>6121102
To make sure it does not look like the Gundam in question.
>>6121059
>>The last 00 Setsuna robot finally coming out in Metal Build and RG
>>Finally these lines are free of 00 main suits
>>Next release will probably be another Nu Gundam or more Wing Gundams
Why.
>>6121102
It's a Chinese knockoff designed to get around copyright laws.
>>6121140
>another Nu Gundam
I'm ok with this.
>>6121059
brilliant. Remind me the Zeta Zaku trick.
>>6121099
Not that simple. Strike Freedom and Destiny exposed with wings of light are awesome, but they require an absurd availability of space. 00 Raiser, Avalance and even the Mina do not joke too.
Given that now there are more than a dozen of them out, more than one display is required to really value them.
>>6121212
well, if you can afford WoL expansion DLC pack, then money really isn't an issue, lol
>>6121358
I did not mean about the money, more like space to properly display them.
>>6121059
i would actually buy the combo as is on the left.
>>6121059
Why did they make some shitty McDonald's toy mech? They should've added some armor or some shit to mask it's appearance.
>>6121285
There is no 00QanT. Just 2 robot . What you do with those 2 robots is up to you . Maybe you like to mix and match.
>>6117860
Sweet, thanks for the confirmation.
>>6120630
>"Jim, bring me everyone."
>>6120637
What are these, anon? I hope there's a Dopp, haha.
>>6120650
>gold frame is probably my favorite MB so far
>it has a very unique
>but
So that's what you look for in your mecha designs... ;)
>>6121088
Isn't there a new Patlabor anime coming soon too? I remember watching a short teaser not too long ago.
>>6121796
Hah!
>>6121059
Nice. I was just wondering yesterday if the Moshow QanT was still happening
>>6122448
>what are these?
I have no idea, I found them on 2chan. Maybe you guys will recognize the box.
>>6122995
Banpresto lottery items for Gundam Thunderbolt
The F set (Saberfish or Gattle) comes with a stand that looks like colonies surface. You can connect many together and make a neat display as they work with Tamashii stages.
AmiAmi had 2 F sets with Saberfish and I got both 980 yen each plus 1500 yen RSAL
>>6122995
>>6123014
Ah hah, thanks for the pic and info, anons! They seem to be fairly large too.
>You can connect many together and make a neat display as they work with Tamashii stages.
That sounds so cool, please share some pics when ya get 'em, anon! Would love to have a colony display for Sinanju and Unicorn to battle over.
What do you guys think is wrong with this guy? Box does look pretty frayed in the corners, but I have a bad feeling that there's probably a loose / broken joint or missing part (hopefully not the actual figure, kek).
>>6120650
also it's great that you get all you need in one package, no DLC afterwards
>>6123325
Well, Strike Freedom and Destiny are valid even without the wings of light, but my favorites remain 00 Raiser and Exia. The Exia it is a figure that everyone should have, it's perfection. The double armor with repair 3 makes it even more interesting.
>>6120650
After cautiously playing around with it a little I'm already a little tired of it. I don't want to pose it too much because I'm afraid the die cast joints will go limp so I've been pretty hands off compared to normal RDs. Also, I noticed it still has some seams, like on the claw wings, which is tingling my OCD.
Maybe I've been spoiled by gunpla amd the fact I can finish them to my own standards, but I'm a little disappointed by a 1/100 scale $~260 figure not being perfect. It sure feels nice and hefty though.
Guess what's in stock again?
>>6123455
Sorry, these are, more like, problems in your head. This thing of wanting to spend the day to pose a figure... you can do this with any toy but it is obvious that this increases the chances of ruining it. Do you believe that Fewture, Hottoy or high cost Transformers are ruin proof? Hell, if you are unlucky a damashii may already be with loose joints just bought.
Metal Builds are state of art figures made for exposition not to be intensely played like a damashii.
About the these seams, can you make a photo of them?
>>6123527
I'll take pics when I get home, but they're along the long side of the wing. A toy that wears quickly isn't really something defensible nor something to be proud of. It's still just a toy in the end.
And RDs are typically a fraction of the cost of a MB. Not really comparable.
>>6123539
>It's still just a toy in the end.
yeah, but.. this can applies even to a EUR 1000 drone, for Marvel Iron-man statue of 2000 euro, and of course Hot Toys or other expensive toys.
The world is full of toys of adults (ah), and in this case, more than toys, they are luxury products. Absolutely useless objects that we buy only for personal pleasure.
>>6123088
Here's one from 2ch
>>6123014
Thanks anon, Mandarake had two. Just put an order in for both of them.
1500 yen a piece btw.
>>6122448
It's just an 8 minutes short they made for some Japanese con. It's available online for free I think.
>>6123572
I think those are somewhat silly comparisons. Drones now are pretty tough and there are a lot of open source designs that are made so you can fix and upgrade parts on a whim. And I don't think anyone really considers statues toys, I mean scale figures are banned on /toy/ so it seems the board doesn't recognize them as toys.
Whatever, I guess it's not a huge deal. But I doubt I'll get anymore MB after the F91 unless it's a design I love.
>>6123479
I never understood the appeal of the metal damashii line. They're as expensive as metal builds but half the size (and more finicky)?
>>6123527
As requested, one giant seam going down the entire wing/claw it looks like.
>>6124209
Given prices for MBs the EX-S is going to be like $100 cheaper shipped. And honestly it's like 80% the size. The EX-S is just a really big MS
>>6123135
Mandarake is very good about inspecting their used products, so if there was a serious issue it should have been in the item title or description. If there wasn't anything like that, I think you're in the clear, anon!
>>6123576
Whoa! That is awesome! Even the fighters look to be about RD-scaled. Definitely need to try and grab some next time I make a Mandarake order.
>>6123672
Ahh yeah, that must have been what I watched. Darn!
>>6124209
Well, there's only been two Metal Damashii releases thus far (with Ex-S being the second one), so there's not a whole lot to understand just yet, haha. As >>6124265 notes it's a large and complex MS, so any finickiness is due more to the design of the suit rather than being a Metal Damashii. I found Ex-S to be a very sturdy figure and folks who had the Metal Hi-Nu reported it was a very solid figure as well. Hi-Metals are also painted quite beautifully (even better than any Ka Signature RD I have), in contrast to the mostly unpainted standard RDs.
Furthermore, unlike the Hi-Nu which had both a Metal and standard RD release (which I agree is kinda an odd way to go about things), there is no standard RD Ex-S. So it seems like the Metal Damashii line is going to be more about providing singular premium RDs, rather than giving people the option of an upgraded RD, which makes a bit more sense to me.
>>6123325
this so much
blue frame was a fucking disappointment
>>6124677
Got a GFF Zeta Plus A1 Hummingbird from Mandarake for 2500 yen. It was complete but the shoulder joint was so loose. Nothing a dab of glue couldnt fix, but yeah, there's usually a reason for something that doesnt usually go so cheap to be as cheap.
Still, Mandarake is based especially when you find awesome deals on some 'obscure' stuff that ebay sellers charge an arm and a leg for.
>>6121059
Does anyone here own or have experience with these third-party Metal Builds? The price seems reasonable and they look pretty nice in the pictures...
Does the quality match up?
>>6123479
This is my favorite Gundam but the blue camo always felt like "player 2" version to me compared to the one in that pic.
>>6125069
I ordered the Seven Swords Inspection G, but is still en route from China. I will make a comment, then.
I read that the [Mo Show] Strike is an excellent model, heavy and solid, while the Huckbein of metal saga was nice, but with some flaws.
>>6125152
Please post pics/review when you receive it!
The anime zaku ii is just such a good mold. The engineering here, man, the shoulder assembly and back of the knees alone are amazing at this scale.
>>6125440
Got my Dodai today. I know its just a flying rectangle but I'm still kind of impressed how nice it is compared to the 80's kit and the MSIA. Really wish they'd make more modern kits of some of the supporting vehicles.
>>6123576
holy shit, how much are these each and how many would I need to create a stand back drop that size??
>>6125440
To be honest with you, I am a little disappointed with it. Just a little. I feel like the ankle range is pretty shit, and there were many ways they could have solved that problem. Hell, the old HGUC Zaku 1 Sniper solved it back in 2006--I have remained mystified as to why every single Zaku toy and kit since has not used that joint solution. Even Assault Kingdom solved it, with a hinged angled balljoint! I was expecting more in the engineering department.
The skirts also pop off really easily, the shoulder shield got incredibly loose and floppy very quickly, and I would have liked more range in the wrists. I know these are all relatively small nitpicks but it's frustrating to see something come so close to perfection and fall short.
>>6126719
They're 1500 a piece on Manda, I think you would need 4 to make that.
>>6126678
The Dodai really impressed me with the little details, especially the cockpit, you can see little chairs, monitors, and levers in there if you look closely. It really helps sell the scale of itself and the Gouf it carries.
>>6125444
Here you go. IMO, RD looks better scale wise
>>6127068
Ok, apologies for what is probably a real dumb question, but what line are each of these from? I haven't been paying much attention because I never found the Ex-S very appealing, but something about your photo is compelling so I am sorta considering a purchase...
>>6127087
It looks like FIX Fig EX-S, Metal RD EX-S, and FIX Fig S Gundam.
>>6127068
Wow it's like a whole head taller. I kind of like the proportions on the FIX better but the RD is objectively a way better toy. I really wonder if they will do any repaints down the line...
>>6129157
tell me about this
>>6126762
so... somewhat related question, while I was out searching for a RD Ingram I ran into the HGUC Zaku 1 Sniper kit. My question is, is that a good kit compared to the Origin and RG Zakus? If so, are all Zaku I sniper kits good cause to my knowledge there are 2 HGUC Zaku 1 sniper kits.
I'm deciding between which HG Zaku kits to get right now, between just getting another RG or the tristar HG Origin ones or even the HGUC Zaku 1 Sniper kit
>>6129194
The snipers are old and mediocre. The Origin kits are almost all superb.
>>6129198
alright thanks, just going to get the origin tristars then... my only next dilemma is... do I go for RD Ingram or 3 HG tristar kits because they end up being about the same price for me here where I am
>>6129219
The Ingram. Bandai pumps out kits like candy and they rarely stop production forever because Bandai hobby personally owns all of their production plants or something.
RDs tend to go out of production after a year or so.
>>6129222
...hmm good point
Why Metal Build DLC just as, or more expensive than the actual MBs? I'm seeing the Red Frame flight pack for $150-200 and preorders for the Powered Red pack for $300.
>>6129194
The RD Zaku 1 Sniper is far superior to the HG
Are there any chances of finding the Heavyarms and Sandrock for a sane price these days? I want to finish my Wing collection but not if it's going to cost me $200 for two figures.
>>6129180
Hi-Metal R Spartan destroid from Macross. Basically designed for melee combat, with a big ass club, big ass hands, and missile pods under those white covers on the side torsos. Has an AA turret on the head, and a cannon cluster under that red panel in the center.
>>6125152
How much was it and where's that design from? A manga/novel set in 00 or from Build Fighters?
>>6124713
Ahh, I see what you mean. Now that I think about it, I had a friend order a valk off Mandy that was obviously owned by a smoker, yet Mandy failed to mention that in the item description. They're usually good about visual issues though, breakages or yellowing are normally noted, so you should at least be good there, haha.
>>6126678
>>6126966
My Dodai shipped last night, and you guys are getting me more and more hyped for it!
>>6128850
It's just as you suspected anon; the Ex-S stand peg is way thicker than an Act 5's.
>>6129589
Your best bet is to keep an eye on Mandarake. While they usually list them at the inflated market rate (Heavyarms is the one that seems to have jumped the most in price), every now and then they will put up more reasonably priced ones (~5000JPY range).
There's actually a few 7000JPY Heavyarms available right now, if you can't wait. Not too bad a price.

Get some of these clear bins with dividers, my dude. They allow you to make your own compartments so you can separate out stuff and avoid mixing parts from different figures. Zeong is exclusive due to cost, I imagine.
Gogg, Zock are exclusive because who cares, Ball too probably for the same reason
Acguy is retail because memes, along with the remainder
Also GM is a great RD and I love him a lot
Came in today. Complete, all the connectors are solid, joints are stiff. Nothing is wrong with it at all.
It did get opened by customs though,"biosecurity concerns". They didnt ruin the box or anything though, still bubble wrapped sealed.

Zeong and Gogg being exclusive would make me sad. They're the ones I want most.
>>6133100
I want Zeong too, but Providence was a $100+ release, I can't imagine Zeong won't be that much, probably more
>>6132440
Forgot Zaku I
Not sure on that one
>>6132440
Exclusive = Zaku 1, Zeong, Rick Dom, Gogg, Ball
Regular = Gelgoog, Char Gelgoog, Acguy, Gyan
Will not get a figure at all = Zock, G-Fighter
I expect they'll announce a Univeral Unit Big Zam and that'll be all we're getting for mobile armors too.
>>6134450
>Will not get a figure at all = Zock, G-Fighter
>G-Fighter
They already have a prototype for it. And its different configurations
I'm pretty sure that was just a display tease like the Big Zam (and countless other RD's before). I'm not holding my breath.
>>6134478
Its not much different from the Dodai, which I thought was just a display thing. But that got released.
Besides, lately it feels like Tamashii Nations has moved awy from big displays to only putting out stuff that they plan to release.
Nobody even bothered to post this? I hope RD ends up like SRC and releasing shit like Hello Kitty unicorns until the line dies. Tamashii knows no shame, even if this is a exclusive Gundam Front thing.
Someone should post a picture of all the Unicorn molds. I've lost count long ago.
>>6135661
holy shit that looks epic I must have this!
>>6135661
What a coincidence that I happen to be listening to RX-0 right now. Still, I might just buy the SD Banshee and some model kits instead of its parts-combiner gimmick is good enough.
>>6135661
Is the Crystal Vagina Unihole still getting a release or what
I can only afford one and I can't decide. So I'll let the general make up my mind for me. Which one is looking better to you guys?
>>6136523
Which is the one that comes with the thumbs up hand for Zaku?
>>6136567
The Dom (on the left). That doesn't really mean anything to me though since it's for the green Zaku, and I own own Char's.
>>6136523
the right, most def, dom is great but the mold on the gouf test is too good to ignore, opened my eyes to alot of things, kept me on the straight and narrow too when looking at other toys, shit changes your standards for 1/144th scale
>>6135661
>Tamashii knows no shame
welcome to RD general
>>6135661
>getting ass hurt over an exclusive toy no one is forcing you to buy
Typical RDG
>>6136523
The gouf, its really so unique with that paint job. By all means its hideous but its hideous in a different way than the usual overdesigned bullshit gundam is often known for, its elegant in its ugliness.
The Dom certainly looks nice but it doesn't stand out as special; it mostly looks like every other derivative of the suit.
>>6136940
>that paint job. By all means its hideous
anon, i don't know how to break this to you but they share the same color scheme minus the blue
Is the Metal Build Red Frame worth the $200 it goes for? I kinda want to the powered red set so it'd be $400 in total. It's a pretty steep price for something about the size of a 1/6 figure
>>6114742
i hope we end up getting a GM custom or GM cannon
>>6136990
Color harmony bro. The blue is precisely why it looks ugly.
>>6137969
Man, if you wanna get into color theory here, the Gouf is extremely well balanced. Blue-red-yellow is a nice lil' triadic color scheme.
I love this guy so much.
>>6138240
How's the articulation?
>>6138261
Modern BB Senshi GunPla. If you've built one, it's basically similar. Head becomes stuck once you put the tail on though.

ANIME G-Fighter has been revealed. June release, 6500 yen. Expect magazine scans very soon.
>>6140131
Eh, I can't really see them doing that. But honestly, the figure is amazing. Enough to the point that you should be able to overlook the joints. That being said, I don't think the "blue" joints look that bad, and I remember a few others saying that it wasn't as bad as they expected either.
Z'Gok and GM are rad.

I have very little interest in the G-Fighter itself, but damn...new effect and option parts could snag me. What's that RX-78 torso-looking thing in the mid-right? Also, cool that they're giving us the beam javelin, but where's my gundam hammer Bandai?

It's the Hebrew girl's name, Noa, meaning movement. Her name can refer to the movement of water from a spring.
It's also a Japanese name on its own meaning affection.
Noah is a male name with a completely different meaning. The name was just phonetically convenient in alluding to the ark later in movie 1 but it clearly wasn't the intended name in early days or the manga.
>>6140250
Regular. I don't care about Gundam stuff, but it is nice to hear the Hyper Napalm is included. That weapon always seems neglected in toys, models, games, and everything really. Why no Gundam/Hyper Hammer though? Isn't that still missing for this line?
>>6140401
No, you're wrong. For fuck's sake, even her lastname is Izumi. If you don't understand how that proves Noah is the right way to spell it, then you have huge mental issues.
>>6140487
Izumi doesn't mean what you think it means.
>>6140684
>This thing had damn well better be capable of every mode. I don't see any arms for g-bull which is kind of worrying.
You're probably supposed to use the one from the Gundam. Its obviously being sold as a companion piece to it since has the javelin.
We already know that it can go into the different modes from when it was showed off at TN with each of the four.
>>6140878
>Guntank is P-Bandai but this isn't
>>6140977
Didn't it take a few days for the guntank to get announced as P.Bandai after being shown? Don't worry, there's still hope for paying out the ass!
>>6141000
No. The logo was right there for Guntank.
>>6140977
I'm sure this will be a P-Bandai. If the guntank was, this surely will be.
>>6141007
Nah.
In Figure-Oh and all these magazine, regular release is 発売, P.Bandai is 発送.
>>6140538
That's my line.
>>6140977
Bandai works in mysterious ways. None can know the plan it has for us. Just remember that Bandai is love.
>>6140977
>>Guntank is P-Bandai but this isn't
Yeah. No doubt about it. That's fucked.
>>6141659
Hmm. I've always wanted a Monster, but the legs on the Hi-Metal look sort of stumpy compared to the art (and even to previous Monster figures). It seems to be missing that entire "skeletal" portion of the legs.
>>6141661
Niiice, I've always wanted a Tomahawk too but I knew I didn't have the skills to do the kit justice. Looks like I'll be picking this one up.
>>6141811
Perhaps it's retracted
>>6141815
That's what I thought too, but I looked up the promo shots and the legs look like that in all of them. I figure that's something they'd show off if it could do it.
>>6141823
Maybe if you watched a review you'd know that the legs extend
My knock-off Metal Build 00 Seven Sword arrived and oh boy, this thing is an ABSOLUTE BEAUTY! Tight joints, great accessories and virtually no skimping on the details compared to an official MB. No wonder Bandai's trying so hard to shut these guys down.
Feel free to ask any questions.
>>6143012
Fuck! I swore off from buying gunpla and Transformers Masterpieces because reasonable bootlegs became way too widespread. Sucks that it's gonna happen to MB too, of all lines.
Are these the same guys who released to Qan[T]?
>>6143037
I don't think so (unless they're secretly the same people). 00 from group called metal club/metal gear, whereas Qant[T] was from moshow.
>>6140977
Guntank gets no respect!
>>6143012
Are the joints metal on metal? I can't imagine knockoff die cast will have better quality than the real stuff.
>>6143012
The guys of the Seven Sword are not the same that made the Strike 1/72. Currently there are three Chinese groups.
First one is [Moshow], Strike and QuanT. They work good, with great quality, until now at last.
Second is [Metal Saga/Fanmade], those who have made the Huckbein figure and "Turris Babel QuanT". They are quite infamous for their poor quality figures.
Last one is [MetalClub/MetalGear], Pic related. They are specialized in making near-perfect replicas of Bandai metal build, with some minor flaw, but at good prices. They also work well, until now.
My Seven Sword Inspection is in Custom. Hope to have it this week.
>>6143163
Left is China Gundam SS, Right is Bandai 00 Raiser.
Joints of the China Seven Sword are even better that the Bandai one, much harder than the original. Someone even lamented that are too harsh, but for me it's better this way.
However, there are some flaws. The GN blades get stuck in the belt and the color is slightly different. For the rest, the sculpt is almost identical to Bandai.
>>6143191
They should've used plastic for joints with metal embedded. Hard metal on hard metal will still wear quickly because they're both hard
>>6143163
The hip and leg joints are metal, or at least feel that way to me. The arm joint (see pic) appears to use a mix of plastic and die cast (plastic in the centre, with metal on the sides). The figure also feels slightly lighter overall than an official MB, but not by much.
As I mentioned, they didn't skimp on the important things (i.e. joints are nice and tight). And the few indicators of it being a KO are extremely minor and mostly cosmetic (e.g. the clear green pieces aren't as polished/shiny).
>>6143216
A close up of the hips/legs.
>>6143204
Yeah, maybe, but MB have metal joints and MC China Gundams are replicas of MB, so they have Metal too.
>>6143204
I frankly, never understood this complaint. I have several Damashii and they are often terribly bad with joints to the point that they become loose pretty soon. I never had a problem with diecast or Chogokin.
>>6143219
And compared to the Bandai MB Exia.
Exia's slightly taller which I wasn't expecting but after looking at some reviews of the official MB 00 online, it's actually identical in height to official Bandai release.
>>6143240
Have you tried to mount the base support? It seems to have some problems to come off after inserted.
oh muh dick
>>6143245
Sorry I misread your question. No, I haven't tried to mount the base yet (not planning to display him that way), but it does appear to be made of a more brittle plastic than official MB bases. So maybe that's causing friction?
>>6143265
The problem is to disassemble the holder after inserting it in the base. Your base comes off easily or you have to force a lot?
>>6143272
Sorry I don't have it handy right now to check but I don't recall any major problems on mine.
>>6143354
>all those gimmicks and features
And that's why it's a retail release and not P-Bandai like GunTank
>>6143354
Fuck, right in the childhood.
My very first Gundam toy was the Gundam and G-Fighter set.
>>6143354
Say what you want, respect to original msg and all that gubbins, but i always hated how the aim for the series was a realistic vision of a war with giant robots, and then you had this out of place absurdity with the combining space shit thing
hey i know some people like that kind of thing, just saying that it doesn't feel right
>>6143544
They replaced it in the movie with the corebooster
>>6143544
This is just standard super robot shit. I mean the show has a fucking rocket propelled flail too, nevermind the more mundane absurdity like how the Zeon can pump out a new mobile suit/mobile armor design to mass production every 2 weeks.
I get what you mean but trying to take gundam as a realistic depiction of war has too many problems beyond just the g fighter.
>>6143841
Turn-A has the pins, and it is the floppiest fucking figure I have gotten in the last 5 years. I bought it brand new, and as soon as I took it out of the box it was almost ragdoll-level loose. It remains one of my biggest disappointments in the line.
>>6143841
The pins are terrible because you need two separate female joints to be exactly the same size. Let's say you have two holes and one spring pin, if the holes are exactly the same size then it's great, if one is smaller it'll constrain the pin so the bigger hole will barely touch the pin if at all, resulting in a point of weakness.
The best joints are like the ones found in gunpla, where it's one peg and one hole. But unfortunately gunpla uses less than ideal material for joints
>>6143915
>>6143874
>>6143841
Hmm I feel like all three of these posts are correct at the same time. I mean most Damashiis that I have are rock solid from early ones like the Arche Gundam to later stuff like Dunbine and Nero. But Turn A really is floppy as shit even all the ball joints.
I guess some of them just come out better. I don't know if it's the spring joints themselves or something else.
>>6143265
no worry on the base, it's fine. the plastic is not as good as Bandai's but it's more than strong enough to support the figure. Just make sure you use the locking levers to lock down your adjustments.
>>6143929
You can have good joints, but it just needs higher precision between parts, which in turn means there are more chances for a bad joint.
If they could come up with a way to fix the spring to one side then it'd be a lot better and you'd see very good joints more often.
>>6143247
Face sculpt is an improvement and the paint apps look good.
Now, I am just waiting to see if the missile pods are going to open. It's their 2nd try at this, so they have no excuse for not doing it on this premium+premium release.
Anyone know what kind of pins these are?
It's the old Xi RD. The shoulder is so loose it just drops down and swings loosely so I opened it up and it's this thing. I guess it's like a two piece pin where a cylinder goes in and another pin locks it in?
>>6144809
They really made it very difficult to modify. I don't see why they didn't just use a regular spring pin, the joint is hidden behind the (well glued) shoulder armor.
>>6144400
Still waiting for Helldiver to happen.
This line has really died down. Barely any new releases. Didn't they already hint at the replacement line?
>>6144809
It's a rivet and is a pain to disassemble. You need to destroy the rivet in the process.
>>6145093
...There are actually quite a few new releases...
>>6144400
where's griffon?
>>6143354
I love the G-Fighter but I worry about this thing. The whole point of it is the goofy combinations with the Gundam, but I don't like the idea of pulling my damashii apart multiple times to combine it with the G-Fighter in different ways.
>>6145093
Like Soul of Chogokin and Figuarts, its a dead line. Nothing in the pipe. Does Bandai even make toys anymore?
>>6144400
You faggots better buy this shit because if Bandai kills the Patlabor subline I'm gonna hunt and rape every single one of your anuses with a fully drillized SRC Gurren Lagann.
>>6145410
Brocken is cool but have no interest in literally who labor on the right
>>6145410
Meh. I love Patlabor, but don't feel the need for new toys. I'm super happy with my Cm's Brave gokin.
However, if by buying patlabor robots you could somehow guarantee mass releases for the Zeong and Gogg, I'd totally support your addiction.
Also, I keep an SOC Ideon duct-taped to my ass at all times; your threats mean nothing to me.
>>6145416
It's the labor given to division 1 so the company can steal data. Saturn or something. It's one of the baddies
>>6145410
But they're making all the shit I'm not interested in. I mean, Brocken is mildly interesting, but come on man. Gimme some Phantom Labor, or Griffon, or Helldiver, or AV-X0.
>>6145097
well this is garbage. I guess I ruined it for nothing. I guess it'll go in the trash or something. There's no way I can pull out the rivet without breaking the entire should.
>>6145410
>>6145495
I think the line is kind of doomed from inception. I just don't see things outside the Ingrams, Griffon, and Helldiver selling. I mean, Patlabor is one of my favorite robot shows and I couldn't give less of a shit about stuff like the Phantom, Saturn, or Economy Ingrams. I think the line will fizzle out after making the usual suspects that Patlabor toy lines do. Maybe I'll be wrong though, the Tyrant is a interesting choice at least that doesn't already have good figures out.
>>6143360
If they dont release a S-Gundam Ka Sig, I will be pissed.
>>6145971
It looks like the girl gives you the knees, backpack, and cover to replace the gun's radome. It just needs the extra handle thing to attach the gun to the hip, and a replacement chest piece and you could probably make an S-Gundam from the Ka Signature.
But I really want them to re-release it in the color scheme of the girl here.
>>6145410
international sales via middle men don't support bandai or RDs
>>6146924
Yes they do. If you don't buy them the store will stop selling them and won't buy them from Bandai anymore.
So, Super Minipla is doing Galient next. This is interesting because I figured it would end up replacing Dunbine after it gets the last few things released. Think RD will still do Galient? What other things could they try to replace Dunbine soon?
>>6145410
Nah lad. I'm not buying something I'm not interested in.
Buy yourself extra to make up for it.

Brought home with 80 euro, shipping included.
I like it, even if the red is bit strange ... a bit glossy but I do not mind. Joints are on metal and pretty strong. Imho, a great model that looks good near to the Metal Builds Bandai.
There are some flaws. Change hands is a damn hell and the base makes many quirks, but it's an insignificant problem if you do not want to expose the figure in fly pose.
It's a good alternative for those who do not want to spend an absurdity for the Bandai one.

Fuck Bandai's toy division, holy shit
Why do they do this? Clearly there are plenty of people who want to buy it, can they not gauge the demand for MBs properly? It's not like they're a tiny company that literally cannot afford reprints, Bandai does reprints of their shit all the time but instead of just taking orders as made-to-order they have a fucking lottery? Just fuck my shit up senpai

>>6150494
Should I get the Char's Zaku and Gundam ver Anime? And the Ingram unit 1?
>>6151254
I wasn't disparaging it honestly, mostly naming it for those who wouldn't be familiar and making sure in general. The sheer number of absurd little additions they make for the sake of giving you as many screen accurate accessories as possible never ceases to amaze me.
>>6151695
Sure. Those are three of the strongest releases in recent memory.
>>6151695
IMO you should get Char's Dom or Z'gok over the Zaku, it has issues with its legs being loose among other things
>>6151986
The only plus side to Char's Zaku is it comes with the explosion and rocket firing effects, which are pretty great effects to have and go with pretty much any figure (the rocket effect requires a Zeon launcher but the explosion effect works with everything), however you get a much better figure with both the Z'gok and the Dom, it's a trade off.
>>6152152
I'm not a huge fan of the Z'gok or Dom. I liked the Zaku, Gelgoog, and Zeong

Also done by Minipla. The only 80s real robot line stuff left is Layzner (the Spec version is fairly old at this point) and Votoms assuming they don't have different lines do the same series. I'm pretty sure the only reason they haven't done Votoms already is that the toy market for it seems pretty saturated. I guess Gorg is a possibility too.
