what number do you give to toysrus to see if they have a neca figure? In the past I always asked using the r web number but they always say figures are not in stock, even if they are

TRU uses a SKU number. It's six digits that you'll find on the upper right above the bar codes of their shelf tags.

The UPC is irrelevant for finding g a specific figure, as it's a wave and the computer will only show inventory of said wave.

The good thing with NECA though, is each release is it's own SKU so the computer will keep order g new stuff even if something pegwarms. Unlike Hasbro stuff that sits and stagnated because every wave has the same SKU.

And it could easily be a misshapen or inventory error or they looked up the wrong sku if it said 0. I had to fix tons of problems like that, even on truck day. But yes, if they have it, it has a sku, and it will show inventory.

And no they can't tell you when they get it next. They can't do that on any toy in the building. Not until a manifest is listed for the next day.

Nah, I love the AvP design. I was originally going to pass on the Aliens queen but I ended up giving in since I was worried they'd never make the AvP version.

Unrelated, but TRU had a deal going on for buy one get one free on all NECA Pacific Rim, Planet of the Apes, and Simpsons. I ended up with two Hardships and plan to sell the second one to recoup the cost.

I just got all eight jaegers and while most of them seem articulated enough, Coyote Tango, Tacit Ronin, and Crimson Typhoon feel like they are going to snap in half if I try to move anything. I know about the trick with the hair dryer to soften the joints, but I have cancer so I no longer have a hair dryer. Is there anything else I can use to soften the joints?

Jungle pred seems underwhelming though, after all he is THE predator it should come with shit tons of accesories and an open mouth face for christ sakes. After playing UC4 I just kinda want a Rafe now and maybe even some of the rest of the cast. Hell they could even release both Nate and Rafe with retooled parts to simulate the final boss fight with the two surrounded by treasure/fire in the ship in a diorama setup, similar to what they did with their Jack Sparrow/Barbossa final battle 2-pack from Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Bought the new Clan leader, mantis, and gorilla figures from TRU today. I really love the Aliens. Absolutely beautiful figures. The clan leader scared me a bit since it felt like his shoulder-to-bicep peg was going to break. Luckily I was able to heat it up and get the paint off the peg and now it's fine. He's also a great figure.

Does anyone have the queen facehugger? I only glanced at it since I was in a hurry, but how does it cost as much as the other figures?

I do have the Facehugger! It's pretty awesome looking, honestly. It costs as much because you get two, and because it still required tooling, painting, all the legs are on a ball joint, etc, etc.

Plus you have to think of the wave as a whole, not just the figure. The facehugger was where they saved the money to do all the new parts for the Gorilla and the Mantis. They're where the wave's budget went.

Nothing much to really avoid, they're all pretty good.
Stick with the most recent ones of both series (better articulations, easier to obtain), watch out for figures from china.
Maybe you should avoid the most complex aliens while you learn to pose/fix any warped limb, but that's nothing that can't be fixed with a decent stand.

Early Preds and Aliens had breakage issues, but the majority of those figures have received updated figures (or will soon) so it's not as big of a deal.

There's not much out today that I would avoid, but if you're going for older stuff, I would avoid the Alien Genocide two-pack (the one with the black and red aliens) as that set suffered from some breakage issues.

I'm leaning more towards the black dome because I have a dog alien with a blue paint scheme and black dome on the same shelf.
I'm glad to have a place that my video game dog can fit in he's always been the black sheep of the collection and it's fitting to have him with the other "animal" aliens.
Might redo either the dog or gorillas posing since I now realize they have the same pose.

Not sure I catch your drift there friendo. I mean, the likeness is pretty good, but it was never going to be perfect at this scale. I prefer the first figure of Ripley they did over the Aliens version. I haven't bothered with the Fiorina Ripley because I don't like how they painted her face, most of the ones I've seen in person looked too derpy for my liking.

Still, this is about as good as it's going to get for a mass produced £20/$20 figure.

I mean that we have the evolutionary ability to recognize a face and differentiate it from a fake. And on a toy you can recognize it to be a convincing representation of a human. In the mean time you can't recognize such deep details on creatures, so you are more likely to accept them as good, as you don't have it in your brain planted to refuse it if its a bit off.

I have checked the alien visual guide and on that one Jumpsuit Ripley looks horribly unconvincing, but on your picture she is pretty awesome. I guess it can differ from item-item based on how the painting turned out etc.

Also for example Queen Attack Bishop looks horribly fake as a human on most pics, but that is fine as he is supposed to be damaged and android-like by that point.

Jumpsuit Ripley is the best Ripley likeness wise. Nostromo suit Ripley is also pretty good. The production piece does look better than the prototype.

Don't know wtf happened with the other Ripley's. The Alien Ripley figures are fully painted, so maybe that helped. Alien 3 Ripley has a tiny head.

I was even happy with the original AVP Xeno once I finally got one that had decent hips (took 3).
