I need help, I ordered Emil off AmiAmi and was my first time doing so. I checked out with PayPal and pressed place order thinking I could see the shipping and total cost. They've actually had QC issues with some of them, so no. They're as fragile as any other expensive Japanese figure, so you better not hamhand them or you'll be left with sadness and a pin vise trying to extract joints so you can replace them.

That said, they're pretty fun to mess around with. I want to get more, but my other plastic addictions keep getting in the way. Also, no white reissues.

Well, there was the official joint pack that was up for PO on the usual import shops. Other than that you could pick up some normal Hobby Base ball joints (number PPC-Tn11)

In other news, I gave my Yume a new coat of paint. Not the best but I'm okay with how this turned out. Just nice to see Yume look normal-ish again.

Well, I didn't prime because if i did I felt I would have gotten the primer on her clothing on her arms and the cuffs on her boot piece. As for the paint, I used tamiya flat white since I was using that for another thing at the time I got the idea to do it. I went and just hand brushed them.

/tg/ here. Heres how you paint, well...Most plastic. Models and the like.

First, a layer of primer. You're gonna need primer. If you don't have primer, get some primer. White primer if you want your colors to be brighter, black for a darker tone. In your case, you probably want white primer.

Next, you want to thin your damn paints. Always thin your paints. You know why most paint jobs look like shit on mini's and toys and whatever? Because they didn't thin their damn paints. Just a bit of water will do, usually, depending on the type of paint.

Next, you're going to want to do several thin coats of paint. It's gonna take time, it's going to be boring, and you'll probably come out of it with a sore neck. But if you don't want your thing looking like shit, it's the only way to do it.

Finally, you'll want to seal the thing. Because guess what? Paint chips. It rubs. It's generally all around shit! The reason paint on factory toys doesn't usually scratch or chip so easily is because that shit is industrial grade and highly fucking toxic, and applied by machines that won't, y'know...Die. From being exposed to it. Regular modelling paints are not that tough, so you need to seal that shit. Matte or gloss, it's your choice. I'd recommend two coats in either case.


And make sure you don't get any paint or sealant or primer in the joints or on the joint pegs, because that'll fuck things up in there, making pegs too thick or joint holes too narrow, etc.

The Polynians are from a yet to be released VN by daibadi. You can check out the officail Daibadi site and here, where sometimes the VN and backstory are discussed. Also you can check out the social media pages where they share updates on the VN. If you need it though, here's a quick rundown.

The original Polynians (like Clover and Shamrock) were part of the first generation of Polys, a bio-android race from space. After arriving on Earth, a war breaks out between them and the humans but eventually ends after Clover gets pregnant from a human. An early mistranslation stated that it was good ol' Shammy that got knocked up, so thats where the preggers Shammy thing came from.

Skip forward years into the future and now you have a world where humans and Polynians co-exist. Yume, Mel, Emil and Vania are some of the modern day Polynians who have been living in human society and have "armor clothing" and other gear. The Motoroids, like Pinkle, are full on androids created by both humans and polynians. Since they are fully robotic, they don't have the ability to reproduce like Polys.

None that come to mind. I could be forgeting something but I dont think so. Since they are attending school Yume could very well just be a kendo fan and got her own sword. Well, Daibadi has gone ahead with the female option parts for Emil. They wanted to give consumers more ways to play/customize their figure so it looks like anyone who wants to gender swap Emil will now have the option to do so sometime in the future.

They stated that it could soon as he could already complete it. Aslo, it makes mention of the set being cheaper than 1000 yen.

Also aslo, it seems that Lucio might come with female swapping parts too. More info to come this upcoming Wonfes.

Not that guy, but i have the chogokin drossel. She's pretty good, very large compared to the figma, has a really hefty weight to it, and she is quite thick. I own both the figma and chogokin of Drossel Juno-XIII. I vastly prefer the quality of the chogokin myself, but as other have said, it's flexibility as inferior to the figma. Go figma if you want a smaller figure or if you plan to extensively play with/pose It.
If you don't expect to handle it a lot or don't need to put it in leaping action scenes, the Chogokin makes a much nicer display piece. I still enjoy handling and posing the Chogokin despite its limitations.

Consider each option's range of accessories before buying as well.

Today was a good day.

Anyone else have a ton of problems with mel's gun? I've had her for a while, but finally decided to pose her with the gun, and the handle is way to thick to fit into her hand. Had to sand it down to fit. Even then the handle broke off when I tried to take it back out. Got it all working now, but man was it a pain.

If something you're trying to paint has paint already, you should generally remove it first before you repaint it, but I don't know how feasible that will be with some of these sorts of toys. You heard wrong, qc was impeccable. They only thing i ever heard bad was one dude who got his Tyga with a broken leg joint and it was easily resolved. People think just because one thing breaks its bad QC for the whole line, but there will ALWAYS be at least one fuck up that doesnt get caught, thats just life.

they have amazing paint work, lines are crisp and clean, daibadi can't even pull that off.

Perfect bed size for the poly's (and nendo's), they're from a gashapon series, they're a cellphone futon. I got mine from candysan but they're sold out there, Otaku Mode has them for $3.59 if you search for Extra Big Smartphone Futons.
