From my zip in NJ it costs the exact same thing to ship a figure in a standard sub 12inch box to Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Fran, and Portland it all costs the same.
Then I tried to Kansas city like the exact midpoint and the difference was 2$ less. Shipping to memphis was 1$ less than that.
The guy should just charge actual shipping cost. If hes doing a flat rate thing hes a fool. It makes no sense to charge someone an extra 6$ unless he has some weird hardon for CA. So, I went to the post office. I was videoing but no need really as the video didn't support my point

It turns out indeed that the price I was given for NJ was like 6 and for CA it was like 7.50 - however I still am not going to rest my case because of this. I've shipped well over a dozen times and every time I had to ship to CA, my item went up 5 bucks in price to ship. I used a book that weighed just short of a pound.

Anyways, I said I'd report my findings and that is it. But again, I'm not convinced this always happens or that we know exactly why the price things. All I know is what I've seen time and time again shipping to CA, the same way I just did now, and I've never seen such a discount until tonight.
