Post your own or inspiration.
Ill dump what I have saved.
Also a question, what is a good round light to stick on display cabinets? I want to get ones that are fairly thin but also hopefully battery operated. If I have to go coorded, discuss best ways for cable management?

I want that loftwing statue.
How do these people avoid getting dust in their rooms? Even if I got a cabinet it would have a thick layer of ugly dust after a week.

Sometimes I envy the people who can stand to collect from just once franchise or type of toy, their displays just have so much cohesion.
I finally installed weatherstriping in one of my Detolfs, feels good man. It was easier than I expected, the weatherstrip tape just sticks right to glass. I guess I won't know how well it works for a while, though.
>>6107516
Controlling the airflow into your room
(by filtering it) does help, but you also need to reduce the existing dust generators in your room:
>Loose clothes (donate them)
>Carpets (tear them from the floor)
>Beds and pillows (throw them out the window)
>Brother who refuses to move out (kick him out, literally)
>Cat (put it in the freezer)
>Dog (eat it)
>Yourself (kill)
The list is not exhaustive and you don't need to do everything on it but every bit helps
but if I rip up my carpet I'd have to move everything in my room!

>>6106417
Where I live we dont get too much dust. I can get away with dusting my figures once a month and even then there hasnt been too much dust thats settled in. I'd still rather do it though before the problem escalates.
>>6106472
Average girl but I'm working on setting up a nice room for myself. I'm married and my husband didnt want our bedroom to look like one of these pics haha. But we recently moved and have an extra bedroom so I'm turning it into my space. Its painted pink and I've gotten a few pieces of furniture, but its still very WIP since I need more display space and I want to figure out a nice lighting system for my display. I collect other things besides super fem stuff but it is in other areas of my house. This one room is just going to be super girly collection.
>ill continue dumping what I have
>>6106973
I believe I saw something similar at home depot when I was there last but iirc they were kind of pricey. Try looking for "puck lighting" or "under cabinet lighting"

>>6108151
100% yes. I just find the photos hilarious. His actual display room is interesting with the velvet stands. But considering how much money everything he has costs, I wish he went for something a little fancier than freaking detolfs.
>>6108159
Shit, that's a classy house.
>>6108159
Large numbers of detolfs always look like shit. Get actual cabinets at that point.
>>6108046
It's because they all only collect pink shit so their collections look more uniform and organized. If these were various action figures all crammed on shelves like that it'd look like shit.
>>6108028

Really awesome riser. You can customise it into a few layouts (i think there's 3 different was it can be arranged). Looks like it's on backorder now but it's well worth it. Looks great. It's quite big though, it just barely fits in one detolf shelf.

>>6116064
What should I do with all these boxes then anon? I'm not throwing them away. What do you do with yours?
>>6116177
Honestly? I keep them in those big clear storage containers you find at Walmart, which are stacked up in one corner of my room.
It doesn't look great, but at least they're not cluttering up my actual display.
>>6108046
>Are women just better at keeping shit clean and organized?
Look at a woman's bathroom and you'll find your answer.
Hint: the answer is "no."
>>6116181
I hear ya. Yeah I have around 35 figma boxes, about 25 scale figure boxes and then some more for consoles and headphones. I'm gonna buy a bed with storage, so hopefully most will be able to go in there.
>>6116221
Just put them in a mover's box and put them up in the attic. Empty boxes aren't heavy and you can fit a lot in one large box.
>>6116221
Hot Toys boxes are the worst.
No standard size, and way too fucking big for no reason.
>>6116175
Expedit was the same just thicker inner boxes. More aesthetic and felt sturdier. I really like the billy's especially with the glass doors. Looks like a really good set up.

I think you just changed my life, anon
I live in a very dusty house. I currently don't have my figures in a display case. My collection is small, but starting to grow slowly. Should I buy a display case or just dust of the figures every couple of months? I like the fact I can easily pick them up and play with them now. But I already spent 400 bucks on them and if I spend any more it will start to feel like a waste of money if they get damaged.
>>6114890

>>6114811

i'd normally agree, but thats basically all the poses that these characters did in the movies. The way they're standing looks really in character and I like how they look, feels natural. Although the second Rey is posed a little awkwardly
Plus Anakin looks like Palpatine from robot chicken

>>6108159

I agree the Rey looks awkward, I think it's her hand. No company has made a better Anakin so I'm stuck w/ him. He's the first figure that gets boxed when I run out of space which is unfortunate because ROTS Anakin is my favorite character in the entire saga. I should probably invest in a nice custom
>>6108151
No more weirder than having a statue I guess
>>6115737
Sorry for the late reply but nah I dont think a figma would fit in there at all, for display at least. like you could lay it in sideways I guess lol.
Or do you mean to have it on top? I think depth wise yes you could fit a figma on top of it, but you can always double check measurements. Like say find one on amazon and see the measurements and compare. The amazon ones are a bit pricier I find so thats why the michaels one plus coupon I think is the best deal. I dont know if you guys have michaels over there though.
My case sucks I'd like to know what I could get that would be better if have 3 otw and I will probably order more this year so I'll have like 15 or so at the end of the year and this case isn't what I want so a suggestion would be greatly appreciated for a better case
>>6120594
I have a couple of figmas in my Baseball Bat display cases like those. Figma ALBW Link fits perfectly, but he's a pretty small figure. Figma SS Link is a little too tall, so I have him in a kneeling pose and it works just fine.

And just because there's a ton of pastels doesn't mean the room looks like it's for a kid. It's really organized and has a theme, which I think shows that there was a lot of thought put into gathering that collection
>>6106293
Such a clean display. You have no idea how much I appreciate this.
>>6114890
That's a jawesome collection you've got there
>>6122829
Not even her, but you do realize that everybody has different tastes, right?
I mean, I guess I see where you're coming from in that you don't necessary have to "get" the appeal, but you can appreciate the thought and effort put into the organization and setup. And while I can appreciate the effort put into a particular setup, there are just some things I personally will never "get". For instance, I don't get the appeal of collecting plushies, I don't get the appeal of statueshit, I don't get the appeal of having a children's tea-set in the middle of your collection, I don't get the appeal of having a giant anime girl statue int he middle of a display room, etc.
Doesn't mean I don't appreciate it on some level, but it just doesn't suit my tastes...and I really don't see how that could trigger someone unless they were just insecure about their own setup or something.
>>6114890

How the hell do you guys keep dust off of stuff?
I feel like the room with all my stuff is a dust haven.
>>6123598
I keep the majority of my figures behind glass, and I dust once or twice a month.
The figures in the glass cases still get dust on them, but they only require dusting once every 6 or 7 months, and at thatpoint I just use it as an excuse to reorganize everything.
>>6123477
Thanks. Icey what you'd there
>>6123556
Those are Halloween decorations. The dog isn't poseable but his legs do move a little for stability, and he has a howling sound effect where his jaw opens and closes while his eyes light up.

Yeah, it's reasonably sized. I went with that rather than normal risers because of the stands. I would have probably had to double some of them up on stands, which I already do with my SAS and it's a little trickier than it looks. The stands are still sort of bulky and tricky to work around on the cupcake tiered display, but meh. Both Sailor Moons at the top are sharing a stand and had to hoverhand them until I felt they were stable enough.

>>6133767
Can I just say im sick of smash bros displays? When will this meme die?
>>6133963
Pretty much any /v/ themed figure put together will no doubt turn into a Smash Bros display just because of how many non Nintendo brands have worked their way into it.
He could just throw his Snow Miku into the centre to break it up a bit.
>>6134066
Oh ya that reminds me. Some more figures here
>>6114890
Holy shit, I think I've bought some of your art
>>6133963
kind of agree with >>6134047 about smash bros. Yes it is overdone among collectors but it is a good way to display items from multiple franchises cohesively.
Personally I collect some /v/ stuff but not enough of varying franchises to make it work. Plus I like to hoard a lot from one series to make an extravagant display of it. My Kirby collection is getting to a decent size and I love it.
>>6134117
You should try cable management bro, makes things look a lot neater.
>>6134136
That would be surprising, but not impossible.
>>6134196
Putting figures together that aren't from the same series bothers me a little. It's just not a strong display. For this reason I've stopped buying toys that would be alone in my displays and selling off some loners.
I'm still not satisfied though, I'll have to work on my display skills some more.
>>6134229
Granat, right? Was actually going to scoop some of your other stuff, but the store was down when I went back for it :/

Isn't this a girl that owns this house?

>>6134200
Lel ya. Im on a week long entire apartment cleaning and redoing stuff... definitely gonna get to some of the cables.
>>6106417
Living on a gravel road definitely doesn't help, I tell ya what.
Is it weird if I NEVER have to dust?
>>6136649
Nah, it's not that weird. I used to live in a place like that. Dust just...never seemed to accumulate. Do you live somewhere pretty humid, by any chance?
How do I make my display look less shit?
>>6136899
get rid of literally everything on the top shelf
>>6136905
I tried, then it just looks too bland
>>6136906
>>6136912
Paint the shelf black or get contact paper for it. Paint would look better though. I've never been able to put contact paper on anything without a wrinkle or bubble somewhere.
Put books or something not storage on the top shelf. Or get something that looks nicer (basket or stained/painted wood crates) to put your storage stuff in so it looks neater.
>>6136671
I live in NYC
I don't know, I use a detolf and it looks fine inside. I have another lamp with shelves that build up but even then, it might take a couple of months for it to be noticeable
>>6106315
Notu badu desu
>>6106323
Bit too minimal for me but I like how the Megucka statues on the bottom shelf feel more expressive and draw your attention more and complete the theme of the display better than if they were forced to be closer together or with more statues and figures around them.
This way they really stand out and draw your attention to them more, not a bad idea if you have the space for it.
>>6108075
WHAT SCALE
TONS OF IDEAS ARE RUNNING THROUGH MY MIND RANGING FROM SOL STUFF TO FULL ON BRUTAL CQB BATTLE and everything in between.
Also its very /comfy/
>>6108078
>>6108159
That looks nice
I don' even mind the large 1/4 scale dolls or the 1/1 scale doll either because they're in anime style, no different from smaller scale statues, just harder to find space in a room but obviously thats no obstacle in this house, wew, I'm jelly.
If I was that rich and had the space I would probably buy a shitload of 1/6 scale figures, as well as a few 1/4 scale dolls like those and the 1/4 scale hot toys Boba Fett of course, and hell maybe even a 1/1 scale lifesize animu girl like that.
Wow being rich must be fun.
>>6106472
Seagull X-poster ?
Man, I'm going to see what I can dig up from my Roomspo folder. This kind of thread is a cgl staple and I'm sure there are a number of folks cross posting. I'll not to post anything that's already posted here.
I imagine this being useful for display and putting accessories/boxes/repair items in the cabinets.
>>6108074
Nice!
Another grownup :)
>>6137921
>implying you're the other grown up
Looking for a display case similar but less expensive. found this on some sketchy online store called, "displays2go." going for 1,200...it's 6ft tall 24" wide with LEDs and tempered glass. The price just seems retarded, anyone able to direct me somewhere better?
>>6138386
Ikea Detolf. Aka the go-to glass case for people who are not rich. It's not as wide as the one in your pic, and you need to buy and install your own LED strips (also sold by Ikea), but it also isn't anywhere near $1200, soooo....
Also, you should definitely buy it in person. Ikea's delivery service is a nightmare and assuming you even get the correct product (or any product at all), I can practically guarantee you the Detolf will be broken.
>>6138428
Should have specified. I got money to spend but that price just seems dumb. I'm looking for something sturdier than a Detolf. Preferably a wide unit with 3-4 shelves built in lights would be nice but every site I've been to looks like a clone with really expensive shit.
>>6106333
does anyone know what these glass boxes used for the nendoroid are
>>6138474
>with really expensive shit.
Sounds about right.
That's why Detolfs are popular, they're really the only glass case that doesn't cost retarded.
>>6138506
pretty sure almost everything that dude makes is custom
>>6130880
Good luck getting them to stand on their own and look decent. I wonder if you can bash a cupcake stand with the supports, that would help a lot.
>>6138506
If you have access to a few tools (mainly a bandsaw really), you could make those pretty easy, the construction is dead simple. The walls are just painted particle board (you could also use MDF). The clear part is just four pieces of acrylic. Measure and cut everything to size, then glue it all together. Bear in mind that acrylic needs a special glue to bond it together.
To be honest, given the look of the particle board, I think they bought a shelf or something from Ikea and then repurposed the parts to make this. But like I said, it's not all that hard to do the entire thing yourself. And that way you can custom make it to whatever specs you want.
r8 my nendo display

>>6139385
aw shucks, thanks anon
>>6138512
>Hasbro's Titan series are really the only action figures that doesn't cost retarded.
This is what you sound like.
>>6138506
Heres the post if youre interested http://blog.livedoor.jp/itabeya/archives/51855383.html he makes them himself
>>6139365
If you had Cynthia and Majora's Mask Link, you'd have basically every Nendo I want to own. Plus Saitama and signal head girl. But yeah, looks legit.
>>6140416
>$44 for a display case is steep
Bruh
>>6140497
so i am just being cheap then? i can never tell. i've never really bought anything but ikea furniture.
>>6140504
Yes. Good furniture is expensive.
>>6140569
and that's why i wanted to know if they were good furniture
>>6139729
That is probably the worst analogy I've heard so far in 2017, thanks anon.
>>6140586
>someone actually enjoys the Great Value brand and is willing defend it
enjoy your Walmart cheesy corn puff balls.
>>6123705
Those Gorelords are sick, dude. Never thought I'd see Violence Toy posted here of all places.
>>6145547
Just ignore them
>>6133963
>When will people stop liking things I don't like?
>>6141400
I will, thanks. Great Value is a great value.
>>6108022
Good luck, mate. I've never wanted one of those girly rooms- not my speed- but I can't help but admire them.
>>6139729
Nice
>>6136899
>and over here is where I keep my DELIVERY boxes
>>6106323
While aesthetically pleasing, I can only think of one word while looking at this:
Dust.
>>6156469
Why would that setup be more susceptible to dust than any of the others? In fact, I think it seems better suited to deal with it, given that there are only a few figures on display and lots of clean, smooth surfaces that can be easily wiped down.
Also, there are ways to get around dust. I basically haven't had to dust my room since I bought an air purifier for like $100. It filters most of that quite nicely, I get maybe a miniscule coating of dust if anything, where I used to get thick layers of it.
>>6106328
That desk is giving me the wiggins. I can see a slight bowing, and can just see it snap in half and dump everything all over the floor.
>>6156555
It's the distortion of the entire image. Different areas in that image show the same bend.
During the day I sit at work dreaming about the perfect display room. I have a whole room just to myself for my collectibles.
During the evening I'm too exhausted from work to realize the dream of a perfect display room.
It's super depressing. Right now all my things are everywhere, boxes and bags and junk throughout the room. I come home and keep the door closed and never use any of my things in there.
just set this up
incredibly shitty lighting aside, what do you think?

New Century best Century
>>6156958
eh, i guess it could be seen as cluttered, thanks for the feedback
and yeah, new century > chaotic century all day every day
>>6156947
get better shelving.
Detolf's basically only look good with two or three figure at most per shelf.
>>6157033
i'd appreciate any recommendations
>>6156947
It looks awesome. Ignore the autists on here who set one fucking Nendo on a detolf shelf and call it done
>>6162100
hey thanks man, i appreciate it.
wish i had room for another detolf, i got toys on my computer, on my desk, and a bunch in storage
>>6156947
You should definitely pare down your number of items per shelf. From top to bottom I'd remove the back two pink figs and one of the silder on the riser, and possibly one of the ones from the blue/red/green/yellow set.
Next shelf I'd remove at least two figs, I think there's 4 in a line in the middle but they're such complicated figures I can't tell. Maybe separate out the smaller from the larger
Next I'd take out the two big guys which are bulky and confusing
Bottom looks fine but the blue one gets lost based on color and position. Maybe if you had a riser to raise up the darker ones and put the lighter ones in front?
Of course when I say this it's a general suggestion to arrange position and the number of figures. It doesn't need to be those exact figures but I think you should really limit the number.
