Paint is hit or miss but nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Big tail has so many balljoints that it may pop off if you're not careful. Otherwise prepare to be impressed with the detail and size.

In all fairness NECA's was more accurate to the actual suit. The MA did look better though. They do often tweak the designs a bit to make them look better, most notably the feet of 2014 and GMK Godzillas.

Accuracy is important, but it is not the be-all end-all of figures, and if you wish to claim that then better start praising NECA because their most recent efforts are going for screen accuracy.

one of the most divisive SHMAs by far, but I'm still of the opinion that it just doesn't photograph well, especially with the usual kinds of lighting due to the paint job. But play around with camera settings and maybe a diffuser and you can make it look like the promo pictures.

My advice as someone who just really loves this particular godzilla is that if you really want it, like 100%, then get it. If you're not 100% into shin godzilla then maybe try to actually see the toy in person and see if you like how it looks before getting it.

The red neck is a bad point and the tiny teeth may sometimes be buried in the pink of the gums but they're awful small. Maybe get some paint and prepare to paint them yourself just in case, but I think it'd be a fun project.

Anyhow I don't regret my purchase one bit. I understand how people just hate it but I think it's pretty good. It feels solid and heavy and the tail is amazing for its length.
