old acquaintance >>6093826
what's the worst third party figure?
Spark Toys' Megs is up for preorder. Not really a fan of the design but I'm sure it's great for people who are.
>>6104452
Probably Sonicron.
>>6104457
If it's anything close to the quality of alpha pack, this will be a home run
>>6104452
That Omnigonix Sunstreaker.
>>6104452
ACE Cliffjumper.
Alpha Pack had bad review.
Think we'll see more Beast Wars 3Ps in 2017? I'd love to see them do some Transmetals or non-show characters that Takara probably wouldn't touch anytime soon. MP or Classics style.
I think the Transmetal aesthetics could work for 3Ps; the organic bits of the robot modes aren't significant in fiction so those don't have to be organically detailed. they could also be used to double as remolds for characters from other series, g1 or otherwise.
>>6104569
I really hope so. Some characters really need a new mold, like TM Megatron and Tarantulas.
>>6104452
Sonicron
Debating whether or not to go with the TW dev V2 or wait 2-3 years on FT.
>>6104635
Fans Toys will probably be superior in terms of build quality and the silhouette revealed shows a more thick, stacked devastator like the original G1 design.
V2 has some redone G1 parts but it's still the lanky OX design I'm not fond of.
It's 450 bucks which is super cheap for all that plastic though. It depends how much you're willing to settle vs being patient.
B I G
>>6104452
Targetroid hot flame, sonicron, any sunstreaker, and x transbots wheelie/ollie
>>6104704
>get your stinking hands off me you damn dirty flesh creatures
>>6104452
Omnigonix's Not-Sunstreaker. You literally cannot get any worse than this. Some of his parts are even held in by bare screws and even moving him will unscrew his parts.
>>6104569
The thing is that these were pretty fricking show accurate at the time. Mainly because they didn't have a choice. But I would never argue with getting more BW-MP shit.
Has anyone had any luck repairing the LEDs on Apollo? It kills me cause this is easily top 3 for me but my LEDs have all been dying.
I sent the head back to TFsource for repair and it broke again as soon as I got it back. Also, one of the chest LEDs stopped working as well so I'm at 1/3 of the LEDs working.
Looking more closely at it I think the LEDs are burning out because they aren't putting a current limiting resistor in...
I have tried taking the fucker apart but I don't have a screwdriver that can open the head and I have no idea how to take the chest assembly apart to get the LED bits out. I get as far as removing the arms and shoulders. Any help would be appreciated.
anyone own IF norimune? is it good? i don't care bout the black one
>>6104839
He's pretty cool, only complaint is that he's doesn't have many 5mm ports like other IF releases have.
>>6104850
>>6104818
Buy a screwdriver that fits and disassemble the thing, then replace the leds yourself.
>>6104857
>>6104863
Why no interest in deadlock?
>>6104868
Forgot the pic.
>>6104877
Deadlock has male pegs on his forearms that his little cannons attach to, but they seem just a cunt hair too small for other 5mm weapons. This shield is just kind of hanging there.
>>6104818
>>6104862
I got the chest down to this point but I have no idea how to get the LED assembly out and I'm terrified of snapping something off trying to figure out how to disassemble it. Anyone done this repair?
>>6104893
Calm down and take a good look at the assembly. Take the thing apart slowly, and it should come out fine.
>>6104863
d to see i am not the only one storinbg that star scream design like a shuttle.
I NEED IT
>>6105000
I'll buy Deadshot for $25
>>6105000
I think so, I'll give it a shot tomorrow.
>>6105004
i would take this offer but i'm not based in US
so shipping would be pricy as fuck
>>6105000
He can 2H the sword, I'll try to get some pics sometime.
>>6105058
fucking ace
Are there any weapon add-ons that have Prime's energy axe? I want one for my Classics Prime.
>>6105000
>>6105024
Neither am I
Eastern Canada
>>6105241
Yes there is a weapon add-on, it's called "go back to TFW"
When the FUCK is that FT Galvatron shipping!?
>>6105740
Take it back to /tfg/. This is a comfy general.
So I picked up CODE at my parents' house this past week while visiting for the holidays so he can pal around with all the new head masters. Maybe it's just nostalgia since he was one of my first third party figures, but man I still love him so much. He has such a compact bot mode with basically no kibble. He just turns into a straight up blocky robot with nothing hanging off of him and that transformation is 10/10 imo.
Unfortunately I just today found out XO-CODE exists and I like his colors a lot more.
>>6105793
please keep him we need the peace and quiet
>>6105802
>red waist
>more red on the chest
>brown thighs
I'm really having to resist spending $60 on a simple recolors right now.
>>6105802
It's not just nostalgia, it's a really great figure. The hood transformation is also pure genius.
I'm dying for a fun spaceship transformer, and hastak is really letting me down. Are there any good 3rd party figures that fulfil my need for a proper spaceship/"Cybertronian" jet? I saw Smart Robin, but I don't know who the big players are when it comes to quality 3rd party figures.
>>6105793
Precisely because this is a comfy general we don't need you to shit it with your TFW love child, so go back there instead.
>>6104635
I hope this guy shows up on kapow sometime soon.
>>6105841
Smart Robin is really nice. Like the early FP headmsters he has a really genius transformation where his body accordians in a fun way.
>>6105858
>>6105858
I am seeing that, that's pretty cool. My only gripe with him is the lack of a faceplate. As much as I enjoyed the show I prefer the faceplate look for my figures.
How well do FP figures hold up to play? Again my knowledge of 3rd party is limited. Is Smart Robin kind of a "pose once in a while and display" figure, or can he withstand a lot of "play pattern" use?
>>6105885
The faceplate is my complaint with him too. So I understand.
I have handled all three of the OG Fansproject headmasters (CODE, UUUU, and Smart Robin) a lot. Like a whole like. And they hold up great. They were like peak FP quality, nothing about them feels fragile or questionable imo.
>>6105893
I appreciate the direction. I'll look into him and his repaint, I think I like the Combes Robin colors more.
>>6105900
I really like the look toyworld Brainstorm, too, but not as Brainstorm. I really wish it had gotten a repaint; I would have picked that up.
>>6105909
That ship mode is t h i c c
>>6105915
And T A L L
Which why I don't like him as Brainstorm very much. But if they had done like an edgy gray/black/red deco I would have jumped on it.
>>6105909
why make his alt mode an x-wing tho
>>6105802
I already have TR Chromedome but I want Code so bad. I don't even care that the articulation isn't as good. I love the Jizaitoys styling he has going on and the transformation is cool as fuck.
I'm also one of the few people that likes Code's colors more than the g1 accurate deco. Love the red and white on the head.
>>6105909
I love how Toyworld's Hardhead looks. I the bright green they use is beautiful.
So what upgrade kits do we have so far coming out for Titans Return Powermaster Prime/LG Ginrai?
X2 and PE are doing new cabs, PE is doing a godmaster engine and a new head, maybe god armor still?
Anything else?
>>6105921
>>6105909
the sculpt on him is too soft and mushy, IMO. Call me GEEWUN but I always prefer transformers to have harder edges but here, they're all rounded off and it looks like a totally different aesthetic. It doesn't look bad on its own but it ends up taking away from the alt mode where you see all of those rounded-off edges coming together and really emphasizes all of the seem lines.
So after several months of waiting, I finally order the hands/feet for CW/UW Bruticus.
The hands are great, but the feet are pure garbage. Left foot doesn't fit well on Swindle, and both feet had part of the gun barrels fall off. On the exact same piece on each foot. I take it this is a common problem.
I read that plastic cement is great if you want a really strong bond. Should I go for it or pick some actual glue instead of messing with melting plastic?
I guess I'll try pledge for the left foot's peg. Shouldn't have to mess with this shit, though. Goddamn UW Bruticus has been nothing but utter disappointment.
>>6105971
I had the gun barrels fall off on mine too. Superglue fixed it. No problems since. Plastic cement should work well too, can't say I don't recommend it. Pledge should work with the Swindle problem too.
Also, we warned you about UW Bruticus. That thing is a complete and utter mess. You should have gotten the CW.
>>6105958
No idea, but I dig it.
>>6105959
He's worth getting if you can find it. I agree about his head though, the original's is definitely better, but the body is better (imo) on XO, so I'm tempted to just get it too.
TW Hardhead is really great. The TR is good, but I'm keeping both.
>>6105965
That is a fair assessment. He's very "puffy". I think he's why they didn't do much more in the line.
>>6105909
God that figure was a piece of shit. I got it for 35 moosebucks at A3U's boxing day sale years ago, still wasn't worth it. Thing barely tabbed to together and it was a chore to get to stand.
Do not recommend.
>>6104472
How quickly we forget Sonicron.
>>6106019
See that's the kind of thing I like to know before diving into 3p. Thanks
>>6105981
I preordered the UW set from AmiAmi many months before it actually released. By the time the QC issues became known, all I could do was pray.
...And I actually got it worse than most. The transformation joints in Onslaught's left leg were fucking melted together somehow. Had to disassemble the damn thing and use a pair of pliers to "fix" it. No amount of hot water was helping.
Fuck UW Bruticus. Fuck the entire CW/UW line, while we're at it.
>>6106083
My feeling so far on UW/CW combiners has been that, especially with upgrade kits, you might as well pay out for a third party combiner. Better proportions and designs, (usually) better QC, more poseability and playability.
>>6106124
Honestly, every third party Bruticus barring the fansproject upgrades haven't really appealed to me in terms of aesthetics.
I already own the fansproject ones. I was just stupidly hoping the official one would be, you know, decent. But I should have stayed away the moment I saw how Swindle turned out. Say what you want about Brawl and Blast-Off, I'd take either of those over CW/UW Swindle any day.
Well anyways, thanks for the word. I'll get to fixing up his feet soon-ish. And eventually fixing the left leg not tabbing in properly.
God, fuck the entire combaticons set, actually. I wish Bruticus could personally punish whoever dishonored him with these design choices.
>>6104569
God I hope so. Beast Wars needs more love.
On the note of 3P combiners, I own most of the CW/UW line but I really should buy Maketoys Giant at some point. Not only does he scale with the other combiners, I love the proportions on him.
>>6106124
>especially with upgrade kits, you might as well pay out for a third party
I disagree, at least on a figure to figure basis.
CW Bruticus for example was exactly the kind of figure I'd been wanting since I was a kid. I know the CW version is outclassed by almost every other 3P combiner on the market but the CW version was also about 1/3 of the price of most other 3P combiners. Not to mention I could actually buy the figures at retail which was a big plus. This is all subjective however, I'm sure I'd be all over warbotron if I could afford it.
>>6106160
He has screwdriver hands which is fuckin sweet but the individual bot-modes don't really do anything for me. Plus there's a G2 version which is a nice option.
Personally I'm either gonna wait for the toyworld reissue or maybe buy TFC Hercules.
Was that KFC Captain Shark any good?
>>6106197
KFC only started making things that aren't total shit within the past couple months so no it wasn't.
>>6106404
It was actually good. Good plastic, strong joints, and good posing. I only sold mine because I didn't care about the character.
>>6105841
There are two cool ones from the Quantron team.
>>6104689
I think I'll wait for reviews before taking the plunge. FT will no doubt be superior but, TW gets enough right and if the QC is up to par I don't think he'll be a figure to be missed. Plus who knows the 3P bubble could burst in two or three years.
>>6105841
Planet x mors.
Great alt mode, great robot mode, cool accessories, fun transformation.
>>6106124
Nah, a lot of the 3p combiners have problems out of the box that I don't want to fuck with or fix after spending 400-600 on a full combiner. At-least with cw its 5 figures with average articulation for about 100 plus 35 for a upgrade kit and saves me a headache over having a 100 dollar limb's joint bust or break.
>>6106124
$100 for the base combiner + $50 for upgrade sets (assuming both hands and feet and head upgrades)
vs
$100 per limb x 5 and at least another $100-200 for any v2 limbs and upgrade sets
Plus, most 3P combiners look like shit and have shit tons of QC issues, unlike what you're saying.
CW all the way thank you very much.
looks like he's finally getting ready to drop!
>>6107090
about fucking time
>>6107090
Now to find out if MMC has shit the bed or gotten their shit together after the abortion that was Jaegertron.
>>6105747
Hello!?
>>6107109
I kinda think kultur will be a dud compared to the first two DJD members, he doesnt even look as well planned
>>6107090
Finally
Holy fuck... i want it
>>6107279
Apparently the chest piece for the Powermaster/God Ginrei super form doesn't connect so it pops off easily.
Other than that, I've seen no problems with it.
>>6106404
Simba not included
>>6107090
>fucked up arm canons
>fucked up alt mode
>slightly fucked flat mask head
I don't just don't know.
>take spare inferno face
>put on Tesla
>looks more like the character than Fantoys's two attempts.
How'd FT fuck up so bad? I saw this and was in stitches.
>>6107289
I haven't had that happen to mine yet. Chest, waist and shoulder armor all fit snughly and don't fall off.
Legends Scale Soundwave wars to start off 2017. Sounds good to me.
>>6104841
Fuck. I want this. Any idea when reviews will start pouring in? And best place to order from? I see a lot of ppl complaining about BBTS.
>>6107571
Gcitoys is getting it this week and is selling it for 135 burger bucks shipped.
>>6107125
He's out foo!
Box is huge.
Comes with a stand and effect part. Some pleasant surprises.
>>6107279
Goddamnit TFSource hurry up and get this fucker
>>6107633
I know its GT, but I hope they know what they are doing with those arms. The elbows don't look like the bend far enough and the shoulders may be extremely limited. I'm in it for the cars and bots though after being pleasantly surprised with Disorder.
>>6107595
Hmm just checked it on my mobile. It says 150. Still less than BBTS. Would I be screwing myself if I waited for reviews?
>>6107812
>Would I be screwing myself if I waited for reviews?
no.
>>6107409
i could deal with the alt mode but those horrible canons and flat face ruin him for me
>>6105002
Buy it.
>>6107279
>TFW his forearms are the wrong color
...At least I think they are...
(checks)
Nope.
Still holding out for a Voyager-sized IDW Cybertron mode Orion Pax.
>>6107941
>Voyager sized
>IF
You'll be waiting until the heat death of the universe.
>>6107472
Anyone know anything about the middle one? Been seeing it go up for pre-order on multiple sites, but haven;t heard shit about it.
>>6108324
It looks really good and it's up for PO on TCP for $15. Can't beat the price, that's for sure.
>>6108429
Speaking of TCP, they have Sonic Wizard right there as the first item listed on their front page, but also marked as "Not For Sale" at the same time.
>>6108488
They post thise to let people know they will be available to pre-order soon, that's all.
>>6104635
why can't a single company give devastator a green barrel and purple arms? Why do toy treads if everything else is cartoon?
>>6108083
He didn't say he was waiting for IF to do it, just that he was waiting for a figure like that to come out.
>>6108725
Even on the box art for the original toy the forearms are black and hands purple. As for the barrel you can pick up the single release of MM who has a green barrel. But then you'll also have to pick up the rest of the cons and V2 parts (new head, green thighs, and abdomen fillers).
>>6108367
Go for it man. Dev alone is a great stand alone piece sure to garner attention in your collection.
>>6108787
>box art
don't give a shit, the toy had purple
I collect Hound and Cliffjumper.
Other than the lackluster Ace Tumbler, and the pretty awesome Willis and Gundog, am I missing out on any 3rd party options to add to my collection that are worthwhile?
>>6108891
There's that Impossible Toys Hill Jumper that ended up on clearance on a buncha sites.
It's essentially a more articulated g1 cliffjumper, down to the funny looking arms on the original toy.
I don't own it but at the $10 BBTS is trying to offload it at, it might be looking into.
>>6108901
Yeah I've got him. I wish retailers would pull up third party stuff with official names when you searched. It'd make this shit a lot easier than trying to scour the web for news about releases.
What's the scale for these guys? Is Not-Blaster Deluxe size? Voyager? MP size? Same with Not-Rewind: is he Scout/Legends size? Cyberverse Size?
>>6108940
Masterpiece
>>6104689
>Fans Toys will probably be superior in terms of build quality
I wouldn't be so sure of that after Willis, Lupus, and Forager.
Plus it will be their first combiner so who knows how it will hold up in combined mode. Constructor being so solid is a huge positive for Toyworld.
>>6108951
Is the figure any good? Want a Blaster that isn't shit and him coming with Log Cabin Republican Rewind is an added bonus
>just want a roughly foot tall CHUG Devastator with a G1-ish head, and also isn't hot garbage
>no options anywhere
Why do you fail me, 3P's?
>>6108959
>Willis
I've got Willis and have no issue with him and Forager was a case of ham hands I thought?
>>6108962
It's good IF and ONLY IF you get the "Pure Red" version. The Metallic version flakes like a mother fucker and his head falls off easily. The "Pure Red" version can have some head issues too, but no where near as much as the Metallic one. I would watch some reviews. This is made by a company called KFC and they tend to have crapshoot quality control, so if you get a good one, it's perfect, but often you will get a fuckin turd. Thankfully the blaster figure is where their quality started to turn for the better (except the cassette bots which are all shit except rewind/eject)
>>6108964
I believe there is a KO of Dx9's Hulkie that will foot that bill?
>>6108935
Too many Bumblebee clones
>>6109038
Not too many US stores will carry KO's though. And I don't trust those fucking Chinese ebayers for shit.
>>6108891
Toyworld had a remold of their Goldbug in the works at one point and it really worked for Cliffjumper. I have no idea what happened to it.
Xtransbots looks like the only game in town for the decent looking MP side of things but quality and engineering may vary.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJiz43zxO44
IF Ultimate Commander reviews are slowly starting to trickle in. Dunno who this guy is, but any review in english is a decent place to start I guess.
>>6109072
>What is TF-Direct
I have the habit of taking a figure apart and removing the missed nubmarks.
I just went through with Ginrai's today.
Is perfect effect implying we have to take off the center chest part?
Cause let me tell you that those mushroom pegs on the side covers are so tightly pegged in the center I dare not force them out and I did try. Same goes with the center piece connecting to the crotch.
Is PE asking us to risking breaking our figure?
>The head is easy to remove though.
>>6108964
Because we already have too many CHUG Devastators and we don't need another one especially with such an idiotic size nobody but you is asking for.
>>6109652
>idiotic size
>literally in-scale with CW and most other combiners
You're retarded.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjsuT46qdTQ
>it's not shit
Praise Robot Jesus.
>>6109819
Oh man he looks so good, my only quibble is, honestly, I wish his face was either more handsome or more beastly :^/
>>6110042
His robot mode face should be very handsome yeah. At least on his original boxart he was a prettyboy, far as robots go.
But it looks good enough in this version.
>>6109811
>CW
>scale
Yeah, you're the retard.
>>6109819
the proportions are so fucked on this guy and it drives me crazy, I love the monsterbots and the other two seem okay from what we've seen but imo Repugnus is just too bloated and round and just weird looking.
his giant tiddies right above that tiny ass waist really ruin it for me, and you can barely see what is supposed to be a great headsculpt behind that shit. just compare the toy to this image
>>6110054
hes way more compact
>>6110071
Yeah. He looks well-made, but I cannot ignore that chest and ridiculously large backpack.
>>6109811
Most other combiners are in scale with Giant, Hercules and that GT one. You're a complete moron.
>>6109819
Fans Hobby is made up of a bunch of former Fansproject and Maketoys guys so I don't think quality will be an issue.
>>6110074
i think the best way I can describe it is the Dreamwave style but even more out there
>>6110071
The huge-ass proportions are exactly why I want it. I love bulky robots, especially when they get great articulation.
>>6110084
Simpler days.
>tfw you remember buying the first issue of the dreamwave comics 16 fucking years ago.
>>6110133
Kinda wish they stuck to similar aesthetics for the IDW stuff. Everyone is starting to look a bit too sleek and pointy these days.
>>6109819
i kinda really like the proportions on it
holy shit
I hope their arch enemy is as good
>>6110142
I think it's because most of the comics take place in space nowadays so there's more futuristic vehicle modes. Personally I'm a fan of wheel shoulders, hood chests and tread legs. You know the kind of aesthetic found in older TF fiction.
But really it comes down to the artists I think moreso than a matter of preference. In my perfect world Geoff Senior would still be drawing transformers in that weird, almost watercolour style.
Some of the art for the old DW series were fuckin dope though.
>>6110159
Guido Guidi still does work for TF IDW comics I thought.
>>6110084
le weird angle marshmallow men
As much as I love these two and their batshit transformations, why would Fansproject make the headmasters (and weapons) not compatible with each other? I mean, they are headmasters and they're part of the same line.
It just strikes me as an odd design choice.
Ebay $15 flash sale is around. Debating what to get. Any help? My choices are
>GigaPower Guttur(prefer the Giga aesthetic to FT's dinos)
>FT Sovereign
>GT-04 J4ZZ
>FT Grenadier
>Hexatron
Any suggestions would be good, too, but with those I'd prefer stuff under $90 or so. I'm only willing to break $100 on a few I mentioned above
>>6110390
Hexatron if you don't own one already and aren't looking for an MP Sixshot.
>>6110127
3rd party newfag here, what Omega Supreme is this? He looks great.
>>6110476
Master Made Apollo
>>6109597
Did you use a hair dryer on the chestplate to loosen stuff up?
>>6110476
Master Made's Apollo with the upgrade kit.
Alright /toy/, since I'm not made of money, what should I buy?
MP Soundwave reissue?
IF Not-PM Prime?
IF Not-Scorponok?
Maybe begin trying to collect TFC's Not-Seacon's since they're apparently not shit?
When's Fanshobby Not-Repugnus coming out?
I don't have much of a MP collection or anything, nor am I a scalefag. But these all look pretty good, and I'm a poorfag so it's probably one of these. I am leaning towards MP Soundwave or the IF Not-Prime.
>>6110514
If scorponok is fantastic. If prime has some clearance issues with all his armor on so only get it if you like the base figure.
The seacons are great, cyberjaw is the best so far, deathclaw comes out this month
>>6110514
Soundwave, perhaps?
I don't really understand the appeal of IF PM Prime. Maybe I just don't like the weird cybertronian truck mode.
>>6110514
Honestly I'd go for Soundwave since once he's out of print again he'll jump up to ridiculous prices.
Iron Factory and TFC are both good about keeping their stuff in stock so you could always get them later.
>>6109648
The HM cockpit on lupus doesn't lock into place and will collapse into the back very easily. The articulation isn't that great either.
>>6110625
Hey Skullface, why don't you try pulling it up all the way? There's a noticeable click when you pull it up all the way. It helps to open the cockpit when you get it partway up and then reach in and pull it up the rest of the way as it's easier to get some actual leverage from inside the cockpit than it is from the sliders on the sides.
>>6110535
Personally, I love bots with super modes and I really dig the size and style of it.
>>6110637
I love super modes too. Wish we had more 3P stuff that did it.
I'm honestly thinking of tracking down that FP trailer for my classics hot rod.
>>6110514
IF not prime looks awesome as fuck and he comes with not elita1 if you get the first release
>>6110625
>The articulation isn't that great either.
That's not a build quality problem. So, basically, you're not sure FansToys' future toys will have a great build quality because a fucking cockpit doesn't click in place.
I wish I hated Transformers. The community is so fucking retarded.
>>6110747
Sorry I'm not that anon. I'm just parroting whats been said about the figure.
>current year
>still no modern toys of bw tarantulas, scorponok, and terrorsaur
>>6109090
It will no doubt fall short of my expectations, but the renders/preliminary stuff look really cool.
>>6109063
But red is so much cooler than yellow.
What Powermaster Prime/Ginrai figures are available from 3P?
Also, is Fansproject's Barrage any good?
>>6110806
Iron factory has a legends scale scorponok and Maketoys has a Titan scale scorponok.
>>6110870
I think he meant beast wars scoponok
Anybody have experience with Wish? It's an app/website that deals in knock off shit, and they have a ko of the sentinel optimus pen for 15 bucks. Speaking of, anybody know the quality of said knockoff?
>>6110977
I bought a figure on Wish last week. Estimated delivery is February.

Sounds like their preferred method of shipping is "slow boat from China"
I really got to hand it to Keith, I had some damage occur to two little tabs on my XTB Arkose (one due to tolerance issues, another due to me not paying attention) and he sent me two entire assemblies for replacement. Sent 'em personally too - and in a leftover Ollie box.
I know X-Transbots isn't the most respected 3P, but it's good to know you can get replacements for their stuff should it have issues.
>>6110923
Alright fuck it they got me.
Sure Fans Toys or Takara may put out something in the next 2 or 3 years but to me this V2 Constructor looks perfect.
>>6111112
He looks great but having the whole waste and thigh section be a separate piece bugs me in all the wrong ways.
>>6111115
Partsforming features in just about any combiner. It's damn near unavoidable.
>>6111149
Right but they are usually limited to hands and feet.
>>6111149
That extent of partsforming is entirely inexcusable in my eyes. If you're gonna do it that much you might as well just do a non-transforming version of the combined form and sell it separately.
>>6111187
The only inexcusable thing is the retarded size. I don't need 2ft tall monsters eating up all my space, I need like, foot tall 'bots at the absolute most.
It'd be good if it wasn't trying to win some kind of big dick contest with UW Devy.
I'm not even into MP anymore but I really like the look of this guy. I know Takara has to have this on the shortlist but I'm not sure how much better they could make theirs. Headsculpt and handsculpts maybe, but MT has the dynamic range and sculpt.
>>6111115
My real issue isn't that. It's more that they don't do anything outside of being Devy's limbs. I think if they turned into big cannons, or construction set parts like generators, drills, portapotties, whatever, it would be perfectly fine for me, and would make this devy set near perfect.
>>6111280
>portapotties
I'd buy that. That'd be fucking hilarious. Megatron would probably suggest it just to be an asshole.
"These primitive fleshlings do what? Disgusting. Put it inside of your arms so every time you punch something it covers them in it. The Autobots wish to side with humans, let us see how they enjoy this side of the humans."
>>6111149
This is just a blatant excuse of lack of engineering. Combiners nowadays should only have feet/hands be partsformed. Anything else is inexcusable. If hasbro/Takara can do it then toyworld can sure as hell do it.
>>6111149
It's VERY avoidable. Just wait for good engineers to work on it.
So striker Noir is apparently coming with a weapon pack for Manus and is now up for preorder in some places for 90 burgers
>Giant weapons Pack (short gun, arm blade, machine gun, star saber, striker cannon, handgun, katana, Striker Manus weapon holder, and an axe extension bar)
>>6111280
This, a lump of plastic is pretty much unforgivable. Rex turns the damn hands+feet assemblies into giant skullfucker cannons that any of them can hold with both hands.
I hate these threads. Ended up buying some and now I can't stop. God dammit why are these so much fun?
>>6111807
I know that feel. I put off buying Warden for a year, but once I finally had it, I was done. Im at least 50 bots deep at this point.
>>6111533
90 burgerbucks isn't that bad for Striker Noir.
>>6111807
Plastic is a drug.
>>6111533
I'd be a lot cooler with that weapons pack if their stuff was 5mm like the ones that work with every fucking transformer in the last decade, third party or official. As is, these could be used with striker and one other toy I own.
>>6107623
Ah, that's why Actionrobo charged me $50 for shipping to Canadia. Blergh.
>>6111533
Any pics of these weapons?
>>6111927
Could be worse, could be addicted to real crack instead of plastic crack.
>>6111533
glad I waited for the noir release. instant preorder
>>6112008
Not really yet but there's this
>>6107627
Finally, a good Galvatron with proper likeness to the movie version. I've been waiting for this ever since I saw the movie at 3 years of age. It's been a long 26 years...
New to 3rd party and Transformers in general outside of the main factions, unsure about the others, what's the name of this guy? I really want to get him
>>6112163
MMC's Titanika (aka: Not-Strika), look up a few reviews on youtube. The first thing to know whenever you buy any 3P thing is to look up plenty of reviews on youtube, and ask around the 3P general and stuff for peoples opinions.
However, your pic there is pretty new (not quite out yet/just coming out?) so there probably won't be too many opinions here just yet, but you'll probably find some reviews on youtube since a bunch of reviewers get advance copies of a lot of 3P stuff.
>>6112163
>guy
MMC Titanika
>>6112175
No problem. Just remember 3P stuff can be great, but theres also some real shitty figures out there, so you always have to check reviews on stuff for this.
>>6112175
Also, idk if you care about the character behind the toy, but that's technically a fembot.
>>6112201
Yeah, I know now. It's cool with me. I love Arcee and a few others.
>>6112163
>>6112209
That one also comes in Roadbuster flavor: R-23 Dicamus
>>6112310
And both have a helicopter character they are usually partnered up with -
Obsidian (R-25 – Oberon, on the left) goes with the one you're looking at (both are from Beast Machines), and Whirl (R-24 – Turben) works with Roadbuster.
>>6112324
That whirl looks shit
>>6112327
It really does. All the recent MMC stuff looks pretty bad.
>>6112327
Agreed. I still can't believe they fucked up that hard when everyone was begging them on their facebook page for a mtmte specific version.
>>6112327
>>6112350
>>6112374
I actually like the looks of the Whirl. But then again I have no real desire to own a specific iteration of Whirl (ie: an IDW-ized version or something).
Only thing I don't like about the figure is the arm hovery-thingys. Those should totally be on a hinge to fold up somewhere, like flat against the bottom of the arm or something.
Someone recommend me some good knockoff Primes and anything else good. I'll take anything, I just have this painful Transformers itch. Please
>>6112447
KBBMP10-V.
It's just a scaled down MP10.
Or if you want an actual 3P product and not just a scaled down official one, Striker Manus.
>>6112447
Oh, and if you want just anything good:
MMC's Hexatron
MMC's Feral Rex
Maketoy's Despotron
Cloud9's Quakeblast
Anything from Iron Factory except maybe the Blaster/Soundwave/Perceptor sets because the molds for those are kind of "meh"
>>6112447
Strike her man nuts
>>6111416
>>6111476
>>6111187
What it boils down too is the scale of the figures. Look at GT's for example. Their team are slightly taller than MP car size which is correct. In order to reach the size of TW devy with out cheating they'd have to be the size of MP 10 or Ironhide which is too big. So in order to keep things in scale partsforming is almost unavoidable.
ayyy

The Constructicons are supposed to be way bigger than the carbots. And even though MP-10 size would be a tad too big, who the fuck cares? What do you think most people want? Constructicons or Devastator? What form will be on most shelves? You can only have one mode correctly scaled and that mode must be the one that will be displayed by the most: combined form.

I guess some of these aren't out so we don't know if they aren't shit.

To be faire, it's not just the recent stuff. Everything they did but the HOS designs (which weren't theirs) and some of their MPs is pretty ugly.

benscollectibles has a review out
It's solid as expected. Uses RID's transformation engineering for the most part. Only wish it came with a rifle but it's cheap as heck for a huge MP.
>>6112587
>What do you think most people want? Constructicons or Devastator? What form will be on most shelves? You can only have one mode correctly scaled and that mode must be the one that will be displayed by the most: combined form.
Well then partsforming shouldn't bother you all.

Quick Topic:
What is the number one thing you want to see more in future 3P sets?
What is the number one thing you want to see less of in future 3P sets?
I'd like to see more sets that have grooved palms, so weapons can be slid into them, and make them secure.
I'd like to less of Legends-sized figures for characters who are supposed to be giants (like Overlord).
>>6112447

Yeah, that discussion is over. You're wrong.
>>6112614

MP combiners
>What is the number one thing you want to see less of in future 3P sets?
Stupid overdetailing, diecast, rubber, lack of flat surface for reprolabels.

They should've just left his head blank, given how anticlimactic and "Literally WHO?" that reveal was in the comics.

I think everyone agrees that the nemesis version of this mold is the only worthwhile one.
>>6112447
Is this thing still not fucking out yet?
>>6112614
>What is the number one thing you want to see more in future 3P sets?
Beast wars. There's other things, but Beast Wars is number one. And not necessarily show-based stuff, either
Otherwise, more stylized figures like Striker Manus/Cross dimension.
>What is the number one thing you want to see less of in future 3P sets?
MP scaled IDW/original designs. Commiting to MP is hard enough, but this whole new trend of MP scaled figures that aren't MP Aesthetics has become frustrating; because while I might like the design, it looks out of place between Classics and MP.

Wei Jang knockoff Evasion Optimus Prime but improved and big. You can get it off KO resellers like TF-direct or you can play Ebay Roulette with ching chongs.

Toyworld eviroin? Some stupid name like that.
>>6112648
Oh, lawd. I want both of these now.

>>6112679
lol I forgot they made something even worse for their first figure. rememba me?
>>6112687
Man these were simpler times where snapping arm assemblies were the norm for third party.
I'm pretty sure I'm missing a targetmaster Prime from TFC, some dinky shitty headmaster thing, and Fansproject's latest upgrade trainwreck for classics prime.
>>6112616
how much longer will tfsource make me wait for this guy?
>>6112695
I think toy dojo has him in.
Seriously why?
Oh right this was just announced the other day.
>>6112698
This is the equivalent to a band you really liked in the past shoveling out some horrendous new album with a bunch of new members years after their last hit.
>>6112324
that arm kibble on Whirl is some Hasbro level shit.
>>6112597
I've never got the love. The Knight Morpher Airborne Squad, Spartan, and the DJD are pretty much the only designs I like from MMC.

More of:
Lugnut in any form
Less of:
Everything having to be MP scale. Not everybody has the shelf space or money for that.

I'm in the same boat, First time that's happened.
>>6112792
This.
>>6112614
>What is the number one thing you want to see more in future 3P sets?
More Beast Wars or beastformers with actually good alt modes, the 3P Seacons are pretty aesthetic especially as a combiner.
>What is the number one thing you want to see less of in future 3P sets?
Less G1 accurate or homages, especially MP scale. I'm going to cheat here and say less MP scale in general, fuck that noise.

Well a lot of what he reviews are samples given to him. I have to say I'm impressed he hasn't started a patreon or go fund me page.

Thats kind of hilarious and sad at the same time. I live in a shitty apartment and buy my expensive plastic and electronics and shit, but fuck.

Also people that bought him from PlanetSteel are receiving shipped emails.
>>6112648
I'm never doing one of those shitty kits again. Megasorry my ass
>>6111533
Preordered this dude along with Susanoo. The core figure looks great but the extra weapons really sold me on him. Every mold looks better in nemesis colours.

>>6112771
At least his reviews are providing Youtube income. Was he a policeman in Canada or did he just move there for medical treatment?
>>6112771

Kinda depressing how you can just wake up one morning and have your life fall apart
>>6113298
It happened just AFTER he moved to Canada.
>>6113298

Look at how little views he has. If by income you meant anything more than $10 a month then you're wrong.
>>6112790
I think it's made for some kind of powermaster gimmick so it might not have a truck mode
>>6112771

that toy looks more like Drift than the last 8 official Drift figures Hasbro/Takara put out. I'm REALLY happy to see the return of that gundamesque japanese mecha inspired design over "hur hur robot Samurai."
