Somebody redpill me on mafex, how does this shit look so good

I have 3 Mafex figures. Zero issues, completely worth every penny. The whole Mafex being crappy and having QC issues is just a meme.

I saw Skullface's 6in star wars shelf and he had a few mafexes on it. Some were really cool, but others were really shitty looking. I guess it's a know what you're buying kind of thing

More often than not the final product falls very short of those prototypes.

It's not out yet. We don't know if Mafex will drop the ball or not. Speaking from experience, their Boba Fett's are tight as shit.

Yes I have Vader. Mafex Vader is tall and stands over my other figures, the Figuarts Vader is short. The cape on the Mafex Vader is fabric and is posable, it has wires in it. His helme is removable and has the unmasked face. Same hands as the Figuarts. The articulation is always best on Figuarts. But that's the only thing better than Mafex. The mafex Vader blows the Figuarts version away.

He has one, any and all Rogue One Vader figures were barred from showing his extended lightsaber in promo shots by Lucasfilm so as to not give away him using it in the ending of the movie. Hot Toys Vader also doesn't have a lightsaber in use in promo shots but it does come with an extended lightsaber.

Recently Mafex has stepped up their QC considerably, but I assure you, in the past it was no "meme". I bought their line of Dark Knight figures and the only one that had no problems was the Joker. Catwoman came in with both of her arm joints facing the wrong way, so when you popped out her hands to switch them, the joints came with them. Batman had a bum leg and for the life of me I could not get the head to stay on. And on the batpod one gun barrel is higher than the other. I managed to fix most of the issues with some tinkering, but that shit is inexcusable.

I got the mafex Batfleck though and shit was great.

Thing about MAFEX is they almost always decrease in price. When they first go up, they are $60-$80.

I own several Figuarts and MAFEX figures.

The short answer is that my vote is for Figuarts is better with MAFEX being *good enough* when there isn't another alternative.

Let's hope they implement the digital face printing across entire lines. Their Harley turned out exactly as the prototype advertised (for better or for worse) and apparently it was the first time they tried digital face printing.

It's accurate to Rogue One. They fucked up the codpiece on the film costume.

Mafex has a lot of potential. They just need to get rid of the cheap-ass joints and start using the digital printing tech for faces - or keep using it.

The recent Mafex Wonder Woman had/has me worried. If that's an exception to the rule than fine, but it still doesn't inspire confidence.

I'd say wait and see for the final release and make a decision then.

I have both Asm figs, and mk43 iron man. Asm 2 & mk43 are floppy messes, and mk43 has very dull paint apps, and werent very clean. I'd recommend waiting for the figures to go on sale before buying.

Just got their ESB Boba Fett, blew my fucking mind how good it looks.

The overall feel of it reminds me of a McFarlane statue, but with better paint and good articulation.

The recent Iron Man had the same issue with the Tony Stark head. Promos looked really nice, final thing not so nice. Not as bad as Wonder Woman in terms of bait-n-switch but male faces are more forgiving anyway.
