I'm looking into getting my first figma and I have my eyes on Aigis from P3, only problem is that there are like 3 versions of the fig and I'm not too sure which one to get.

Is there some sort of consensus on which one is the best? Seems like the P4 arena one is the best value with all the accessories and decent pricing in Mandarake, but i do feel more of a connection with the original P3 design. Which one would you guys recommend?

Why the heck don't they release figmas with the anime ending / earlier - as in, why not start working on the prototype before the anime airs, so when it airs you have a prototype and by the end of it you can release the figure?

Just got DMG and ZSS in yesterday.

DMG has easily jumped onto the list of my favorite figures. The colors really pop on my shelf, and the design lends itself to cute and sexy poses. Overall i'm satisfied as hell.

ZSS on the other hand... just feels like a let down, her face isn't great, the smiling face is a bit downsy, her gun was a pain in the ass to attach to the hand and the trigger finger got all bent out of shape and scratched up, her head seems to be stuck so even if I wanted to put her short hair on I don't want to risk it. Her accessories are next to non-existent. I will say i'm impressed with how they did the hair and how the faces connect, but otherwise there's just not much going on.

They actually do this for shows that GSC has a financial stake in (through the Ultra Super Pictures project). Symphogear, Space Patrol Luluco, Thunderbolt Fantasy, and Arpeggio of Blue Steel all come to mind - GSC was on the production committee for all of them, and there was at least one Figma or Nendoroid from each (often both) up for preorder by the time the show finishes airing. Of course, this is a bit of a gamble - it's all fine and dandy with shows like Kill la Kill that proved popular anyway, but if GSC commits beforehand to a show that doesn't resonate with audiences, then they're stuck making 2-3 figures that nobody gives a shit about (see: Arpeggio). It's this risk that keeps them from making figures prematurely for shows they don't have a direct financial stake in, unless it's just the new iteration of an established and popular franchise like Fate/.
