Carnage is now owned by DC and Time Warner, meaning he is inappropriate for Marvel Generals.
Please refrain from discussing or posting pictures of Carnage in this thread, as doing so would be egregious copyright violation.
Thank you.

Varies from figure to figure, really.
Most figures on that body do have a hard time standing. I remember my Wasp figure being a real piece of shit about it, even without the wings.

Also figures in heels. I hope that Hasbro never does a figure in heels again.

Look who came in the mail today. Cracking open Deadpool as we speak. He will go together well with my Revoltech and Marvel Select. I also got the Koto ArtFX Deadpool for Christmas. Gotta open that too eventually.

I'm debating selling Wolvie though. My X-Men are all Selects and I have a Wolverine already for that. Plus the Legend won't scale quote right with the other selects. Wat do?

Autosaging doesn't mean immediately post a new thread. Common board courtesy is that you wait until it reaches at least page 8.

/toy/ is slow enough that in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter, though. My complaint was more about the complete lack of effort put into the OP
>>
>>6098662
That's not even a werewolf. That's literally a fursona.

A furry character who's the newest member of a team normies haven't heard of isn't gonna sell.

Why did you buy Wolverine at all?

But seriously, that Wolverine is pretty great, and if you ever switch focus from MS to ML, Colossus will stay in scale if you use Byrne's heights as your model. I've got MS Colossus up with brown Wolvie, Kitty, Cable, and a makeshift Psylocke (Silk's alt head on Kitty's body with Capt. Marvel's energy effect).
>>
>>6098750
>Why did you buy Wolverine at all?

I was high and impulse bought him when I saw he was retail on Amazon. It is a good Wolvie but I dunno. I kinda prefer his modern blue and gold costume but I do like this version of the brown and tan, moreso than Marvel Select's attempt at the same costume. Classic blue and gold is what I have now.

>>

I agree that the price difference doesn't mean much, but the thought of getting an entire X-Men wave for $12 on average, which includes a huge BAF, is satisfying. Since I actually perceive the figures themselves as roughly $10 or so in value it's like getting the BAF for free, in a loose sort of mental justification.

I preordered a case of the x-men wave, so this all feels extra weird. I'm happy for people getting shit for this cheap, though.

So what are the chances that the Sandman wave gonna get discounted to shit like the Juggernaut X-Men wave, Captain America Abomination wave and the Space Knight Venom wave? Is it just a battle of attrition?

It might happen, but not this fast and it won't be this much of a sure thing. A lot of stores don't want current stuff hanging around after christmas, so they clearance it like we've been seeing this last month. Also, stores will often hold back on stocking new stuff right after christmas, so waves that drop in december sometimes get limited runs. Transformers generations arcee a couple years ago was super rare because of that, and the absorbing man wave last year didn't even show up in some countries at all.

Just finished building this big fucker.
I knew I was right passing on this series at full retail (aside from War Machine, which I genuinely like). Iron Man would be great if the body weren't so dated. Blizzard was 100% phoned in and feels cheap in hand. The ladies are mediocre at best. Dr. Strange has weird joint issues for whatever reason, and the sloppy edit to the Bucky torso removed the cape socket, which would have been nice to have (but he look amazing with MCU Strange's cape). And Vision...so bland. Barricades showed that the Bucky body could have a lot of expressive quality to it with the right head and color, but Vision and Blizzard show that the body can be a stand-in for Ann Veal under the right conditions.

The HB really makes me wish I had some painting skills. It's so nice (though limited in some aspects), but the colors are off. Still really glad I got the chance to build this thing at a relatively inexpensive price.

So my nephew got these Guardians of the Galaxy Playskool figures but unlike his Star Wars guys they don't come with weapons of any kind. Unfortunately his plethora of Imaginext stuff can't be substituted as the Playskool hands are on the larger side.

Anybody know of any weapons that might be compatible?
>>
>>6099933
>I just want the Sandman and Black suit Spidey, but currently Sandman is like $50 loose on Ebay and Black Suit Spidey is like $25.

Even if they were all discounted to $6, you'd still be payin near 50 bucks for Sandman. If all you want is him and Black Suit, then those prices aren't all that terrible. Chances are, even if some do go on discount, others (GG and Blacksuit Spiderman) will most likely disappear long before any sales and only spike in price. Meaning you'll probably end up paying MORE for Sandman if you wait for a discount. Unless you really do want some of the other figures, it's better to get them at those prices.

>>6099345
I live in NY and I've NEVER had an issue buying Nerf Guns before. Amazon, Target, TRU, HTS, every other site I've bought a Nerf Gun from shipped it with no problem.

But Wal-Mart, they wouldn't even ship the darts for some bizarre reason. And it's not like they didn't offer ship-to-home, the items clearly had that option listed. They just also noted some "states" may restrict shipment and I would know at check out. Which is dumb and not true in any way shape or form.

Also, they had no problem shipping Nerf Crossbow. That site is stupid.
>>

You should definitely try to repaint him. The sculpt is great but the paintjob absolutely hurts the figure, especially with all the detail they left off the back of the figure.

I got my Sandman wave and I have to say that I like him way more than I thought I would, especially after seeing the SDCC version. The sand arms and ruined face really help sell the figure.

Anyone else having issues with the Black Spidey's joints though? Mine are incredibly tight, more so than is comfortable.
>>
>>6100822
I tossed him under a heat lamp for a minute when I got him. He's been fine since, definitely a little stiff but no longer scary tight.

Also what paint did you use for hulkbuster?
>>
>>6100822
I just got my Symbiote Spidey from Dorkside Toys. His legs are horribly warped and his right shoulder is really tight.

Fortunately both are pretty easy to fix

I also got Shocker and Kamala. I didn't think I'd have any issues with it, but man I really don't love the head sculpt on Shocker. As an alt head it would have been fine but he really should have come with a serious default head.
>>
>>6100826
I'll have to hit him up with a blowdryer for a few then. He looks great, but I might need to mod the legs a bit to get a bit more movement from them.

As far as paint, I used a few. Reaper, Vallejo, and Citadel were all used, with various mixing to get the colors I wanted. But seriously, even the simplest paintjob makes the figure better. There are so many details that are missed completely.

I feel you on that one. The whimsical one-eye-squint is annoying for the character. The Habsro one would be perfect if it weren't for the action feature that robs articulation. Overall though, it's a hell of a strong wave, even if there are some minor nitpicks.

Sorry to hear that.
Maybe you should vote for better reps that don't strip away your rights and make illegal search/seizures common place.

Just so you know, whenever WalMart blocks sales, it's because the city/state/country fined them. They almost always fight it in court, as they're not going to halt sales especially when the rest of the country is able to play with those toys, but when they're court in the state/city that created the stupid laws that you endorse, they almost always lose.

So good job.

Oh, and FYI, it's illegal to sell the upcoming MP Megatron there too.

Not to be all political but I have no problems with common sense gun control.

But this isn't a case of Wal-Mart or any store not selling Nerf guns, because they all do. Wal-Mart just wouldn't *ship* certain Nerf guns and accessories, but they will ship a nerf Crossbow. Every other site ships Nerf Guns no problem, so this isn't even any kind of legal issue, it's just Wal-Mart being inept.

Again, Wal-Mart was selling them, I would just have to walk into one of their rat-hole stores to pick it up myself. And I don't feel like risking tetanus, foul odors and the mutant swarms who infest those stores just to get a damn toy every other website ships without issue.
>>

A crossbow isn't a gun.
Common sense, dude.

No, it's just WalMart being bit by your shitty state's laws, paying a penalty, and not wanting to get bit again.
Other stores had no problems, so of course they're not going to stop.

Make actual common sense laws or just keep bending over, because it's what you deserve.

Bought some suction cups off Bed Bath and Beyond and I'm having too much fun with them.

>>
>>6102342
Not him, but Jackal's great just by virtue of it being a completely new mold, a character who haven't existed before in Marvel Legends/6inch line, and also a fairly pivotal villain in Spiderman comic history.

If you're not into old school Spiderman comics then he's just a fairly obscure villain.
>>

He's really solid, but now that I've spent some more time with him I don't know if it's a good body for spider-people. Everything else is great but the hips really are a downgrade compared to the pizza body. Way less range forward, and about the same outwards as the original pizza body before they started fixing it on subsequent releases. It'll make an awesome replacement for buckycap though.
>>
>>6102333

I don't have scarlet spider on hand right now, yeah. A lot of the pizza body uses had varying degrees of better movement, so they definitely made more than one change. I remember putting the original, speed demon, and scarlet in front of each other and all three had different ranges.

The problem with retail hunting is that shelf warmers can cause waves to be skipped, especially if the store ordered a ton of certain wave. You're almost always better going Amazon or pre-ordering through BBTS or Dorkside toys.
>>
>>6102720

I didn't know that, I figured they would just discount stuff to oblivion. The Toys-R-Us across the street from me is picked dry from Christmas so I figured for sure that they would have the new stuff but the last couple of times I have been in it's still barren. Thanks for the tip though!
>>
>>6102342
>>6102347
Jackal's actually pretty great. The new mold looks fantastic, but I do wish his neck could look up more and that he had a but more flexibility around the hips.

2099 might be my favorite of the wave. His new mold is awesome, but I wish his hips were slightly better, just so he can get into the sane poses as similar spiders. But the upper body movement is great.
>>6102418
>>6102463
Yeah, he's spider-man from the multiverse who is apart of the captain Britain corps.

And spiderverse had the potential to be really fun, but Slott ruined it by writing an intimidating villain that I liked and turning him into just one of a whiny family of life vampires.

Just when things started to go good for Peter Parker (for once), something bad happened. While visiting a dying Otto Octavius, Peter suddenly had his mind swapped with Otto's, allowing Otto to live and run around in Peter's body. But just before Peter died, Otto discovered the "true" meaning of "With great power comes great responsibility" via Peter's harrowing memories, so he decided to live up to Peter's legacy and become the Superior Spider-Man.

Otto did all he could, but his violent way of punishing criminals quickly drew awry from everyone around, and while he thought he was doing good, in reality he was depleting people of their freedom and allowing some people to get away - eventually forming an army out for revenge. Led by the Green Goblin, the army attacked, and Otto realized his mistakes. When it was revealed that Peter's consciousness existed within his body, Otto sacrificed himself, allowing Peter to be the true Superior Spider-Man.

>Only because they sold the film rights to everything they could to keep themselves afloat
So?
Lots of companies go through bankruptcy and come out of it healthy and thriving.
That happened in the 90s, and ever since then, they had been making mad bank.

Marvel Studios had existed back then, and was actually part of the reason they went into bankruptcy. It was Marvel's merging with Toy Biz in the 90s that allowed them to make more money than ever.
So it was actually Toy Biz that saved Marvel, not Marvel Studio.

The toy division being shuttered in the late 00s was only to pay for further movies and that eventually led to their merging with Disney.

In short, Marvel Studios is (part of) why Marvel almost went bankrupt. Marvel Studios is also why we have low quality toys of Marvel figures.
Thank you Marvel Studios, for making the majority of this thread to be happy for poorly painted toys. Thank you, Marvel Studios, for making people in this thread to be happy that a retool has been retooled 20 times. Thank you, Marvel Studios, for making people in ths thread happy for not keeping your figures in scale anymore.
Thanks for all the undersized BAFs too.

This happened with my Speed Demon.
Heat the head a peg up , and pry the peg out with a pair of needle nose pliers with a semi-thick cloth between the pliers and the plastic. Then heat the body up and pry the torso apart a little and shove the correct head/disc back in. You'll likely experience breakage of the plastic nubs inside the neck that keep th disc in place, unless you can crack the whole torso apart. I've given up on the idea of doing any headswaps on Munich Speed Demon because of this--when I tried to get the head off after fixing it, the disc popped back out and wrecked the retaining nubs to the point that I had to remove them from one side of the neck to get the disc back in.

Got me a Legends Taskmaster, Venom, and Deadpool in the mail today.
All three of them are damn fine figures. Loving them.

Though my Taskmaster had one of the weirdest QC errors I've seen in a while. It's hard to describe, but you know how wrist pegs on most Legends figures are made out of harder plastic? For some odd reason the wrist peg on his left hand was made out of softer plastic. Just the left hand. The right hand is normal. The wrist hinge wouldn't move either, so it's like the joint and the hand itself got merged or something like that.
I tried moving it inwards and it snaps on me. Nothing I couldn't fix, but I'm slightly baffled by it. Still, he's a great figure. Probably my least favorite of the three because of that issue.
>>
Chances of a new legends Rulk or A-Bomb?
>>
>>6104706
I'd say either of them could appear in an Avengers wave. Rulk could easily be a repainted Hulk with a new head and A-Bomb will probably be a repaint of the Abomination BAF with a new head.
>>
>>6104711

We'd probably get the new Red Hulk which is another General guy in U.S.Avengers

That's what happens when the workers don't pre-place a poly joint in the injection mold. The soft plastic fills the poly joint cavity and creates a solid piece. This can happen to any joint that doesn't have a pin.

If you mean pic related from the Hulkbuster wave, it's underwhelming.
Pros: Open-helmet head, good range of motion in neck, hips, knees, and down the arms.
Cons: Extremely shitty ankles, mediocre articulation in torso, skinny.

If you want a War Machine, search out the Mk 1 version from the Iron Man Armored Avenger line, or get the Mk 3 that's in a Target-exclusive 2-pack right now (which is apparently discounted to $20 for the two pack right now) or just wait for the Mk 3 to hit with the unsolicited Civil War case revision.
I've got all three versions, and the Mk 1 and 3 tie for my favorite for various reasons, while the Mk 2 is there just to complete the lineup. The cons in the Mk 2 basically keep me from putting it on my shelf unless I've got a flight stand to spare. If you do wind up going for the Mk 3 in the Target 2-pack, the other figure in that pack is the same mold as the Mk 2 so you can see if you want to get the Mk 2 or not.

This War Machine looks fucking rad, comes with a ton of accessories, yet the articulation is garbage and the accessories are actually wobbly and fall right off the figure.

He's really a surprise for me. Other than Ms. Marvel, he's the one I wanted the least out of this wave, but even though his articulation is kind of average and he doesn't come with any accessories (I really wish he could bend his head back farther), his sculpt and paint app is amazing. Seriously, the face on mine looks perfect.

Really impressed with the Sandman wave. No interest in Kamala and I prefer the Toybiz Goblin so I'll be getting rid of those. I'm afraid this gotg wave and the next x-men one are gonna pegwarm harder than the allfather one. A quick look through my collection reveals I'm the biggest mark to have walked into a toys r us, but even I'm only grabbing one figure out of each of those. I'm hoping the rest of the warlock wave has some good stuff in there.
>>
>>6106840
The original GotG wave warmed the pegs FOREVER. This will do the same, since I can't see too many people doubling up on Starlord and Drax. Yondu will sell well, so will Darkhawk and Angela, but the rest should be incredibly easy to pick up.

Some of the X-Men wave will warm pretty hard. Dazzler for sure, probably Sunfire, but over all I think it'll sell better than the GotG wave.

Toy Biz merged with Marvel in the 90s to save Marvel from going out of business. Toy Biz was renamed Marvel Enterprises and kept the Toy Biz name for their toy division.

In the mid-aughties, Marvel decided it wanted to make movies their own way, so it started looking for more money. One of the ways to get banks to look at them like a sexy lean model was to cut the fat. So Marvel sought out licensees and shopped their properties around. Hasbro promised to give them megabucks, so Marvel started shedding Toy Biz little by little by not renewing various licenses. What Hasbro was doing was basically giving Marvel free money, instead of Marvel producing their own toys and the risks involved with the production of toys.

So once Toy Biz's license expired with Marvel (businesses still do the entire contract and business maths to prove to stockholders that they're maximizing profits with their properties, even if it's internal), Toy Biz changed their name to Marvel Toys and licensed Image/DarkHorse/etc properties. Since no one knows about comics outside of Marvel and DC, the line failed and Marvel Toys was closed down.

The end.

Also, at some point, Toy Biz's Asian branch was split away from Marvel/Toy Biz and became its own company. They distribute toys mainly. I forget their name, but i think they're still around.
