They seem to only use it in very minimal ways (strengths some weak sections such as mp shockwave's cannon strut or mp magnus's feet or mp10's feet for better pose balance) but never in large sections like the old g1 days, and after seeing the shit mp05 copped because it so easily...

Depends really, I noticed when takara paints its a mix of cartoon accuracy to the point where friction MIGHT be a problem or it perfectly accounts for it.

For hasbro the (few) paint apps are thick, if any bits catch then it skims off in a noticeable way, I tried to strip paint off my tr skull masher and while the screws got fucked over by bleach the paint and plastic held up, dafuq?

But I worry about the paint on the cw liokaiser set, shit is too thick and yet the canopy on fellbat got nicked in the factory, it looks like shit and that makes me nervous about the black sections on deathsarus

Well, when you KO the best Optimus toy and keep pretty much everything about it the same while also having good quality plastic, yeah, no shit it ends up the best in it's size class.

Abs versions usually come WITH his later ion cannon aka the shot gun thing and that his swords are separate rather than spring loaded. It's easier to find the abs ones at a lower cost due to well, having a lot of different more expensive versions (Premium paint, jetwing, jetwing repaints, minigun, black, Asia Premium complete edition, etc).

Depending on what you want, you could either
-Wait for the new rerelease of the mold, but it will be expensive but it's more complete
-Buy the Hasbro ones, which is either the swords version or the battle damaged faceplate-off hooks version

They're not mentioned in the TR toy continuity.

Nebulos did exist in the IDW continuity and Scorponok was working together with Zarak there to create Headmasters, but he was stopped by Ultra Magnus; him picking his work up again on Earth was a big deal in the -ion era of the comics.

Headmasters had been a thing with Transforners for millions of years earlier, though, so you could say that in IDW's continuity, Headmasters were actually an attempt to reverse engineer Titan masters.

Unfortunately not. I tried extracting the peg from the port and it just shredded like so much cheese. I do have a broken Shapeways peg I could use, but A: Shapeways plastic is pretty cacky, B: I can't get the existing peg out of the socket, and C: I don't think it would hold up to repeated transformations. And I'm someone who likes to actually transform their transformers so that would be a problem.

I like the dragon mode, if only because it's not clearly just the dinosaur mode flipped around like some of the other TM vehicles,. If you didn't know what it turned into, the second mode isn't immediately apparent and I love that. I'd say one of them is easily worth an entire wave of retail stuff, simply due to the increased quality, paint apps, engineering and posability.

If you have a favorite character that has an MP, I'd probably recommend it to you. As long as it's not Shockwave, his MP was kind of disappointing.

I actually think some of those managed pretty decent gun modes. Payload, Flanker and Roller were solid. Chop Shop in particular was great. His bot and beetle modes were spot on, and he formed both a bladed shield weapon for Megatron, and a battering ram/cow catch for his tank mode. I was sad to see they didn't keep making them.

Is it just me but does anyone else think that Headmasters should have become the standard for Transformers a long time ago? I picked up Highbrow and Hardhead today and the headmaster minifigs themselves add so much playability, like yeah I love the figures because of how deliciously G1 and angular they are but as toys they just have so much playability compared to other TF figures.

You don't just have a helicopter and a tank but you have little dudes to drive them and little seats for other dudes so they can all team up, it's great. As toys they are genuinely better.

I kind of agree, Titan Masters add a lot of play value. I'm assuming Hasbro was afraid that Transformers might be perceived as being piloted mecha, and the gimmick isn't very compatible with "realistic" beast mode Transformers (as opposed to "unrealistic" ones like the Decepticon Headmaster trio).
