Does anyone have any experience with painting figures and is willing to share some tips? I've almost totally given up on getting a Kira 2nd for a reasonable price, I feel it's be easier to just paint the white version blonde. How do I not fuck this up?

Not really. Have a figinstock set up on sold out listings on Mandy, lurk YAJ with a reliable and affordable proxy, go beyond and use Jungle/Rankuten: Terraformer. At most a Kira 2nd should set you back 8 or 9k if you want him that bad but with an effective search setup you should get him for a decent price without even breaking $100 before shipping. There is a bit of luck to be had if a store decides "fuck it" and sell him at 4k but it's a matter of keeping an open eye when you can. Even AmiAmi does some solid sales every so often (managed to nab a 4k Satzbatz Knight figma that sells for 9k regular on Mandarake at the time) or even a 8.5k WF Joseph that managed to pop up on Mandy one fateful night.

Now if you live somewhere that customs makes the order jump quite a bit then I won't blame you. If you are serious on doing a custom then something like Vallejo paints could work for an SAS paintjob.

I usually collect Figmas but after watching Part 4 I was fucking impressed with Bites the Dust. Now I want to hunt down a figure of Killer Queen/Kira but he seems to be quite popular and difficult to find online.

My question is this. I live in Asia in a very Japan-centric country so it's possible for me to find SAS figures here. So how should I go about finding local stores that sell SAS in hopes of finding what I'm looking for?

Unlike most of them Taiwan actually does attempt to duplicate japan a lot. The rest still bear a grudge or don't really give much of a shit anymore.

Main reason is that back when Japan took over Taiwan was an uncivillized 4th world shithole. They turned it into a slightly more civillized 3rd world shithole (which it still is today) before pulling out so the country basically owes Japan a lot for its basic infrastructure.

I know that and I worded that a little off but smaller villains never get a SAS treatment and usually get passed off to Di Molto Bene. I'm just getting tired of seeing posts asking for stuff like this now since Medicos follows a rule for SAS character releases in JJBA. It's the same for the eventual SBR anons who worry that we won't see Johnny but we have an announcement months back with him and Gyro. Now we have a Gyro prototype we can wait on Johnny for next year at either this WF or next.

Only the 1st versions. 2nd and 3rd's are kept as a one shot release with Medicos popping up a new colorway for certain characters rather than reissuing desirable 2nd and 3rd colorway releases.

I don't think it would, the only thing I could see is if you did the mold as one piece and cut it open. Then there'd be a minimal chance of cutting the figure a bit if you don't do it right. The actual mold making process won't cause damage AFAIK.

Other processes don't really require that much clay (if any) and since you'd be doing all individual pieces it would be simple to control where it goes.

With my allowance + sallary - bills I can purchase one figure every two months. I started to watch JoJo in march and by June I started to collect. I own Jotaro, Joseph, Kira, Rohan, Gappy, Shiza, Dio and now I'm getting Gio.

I must add that Shiza and Kira are both blonde.

Black Dio and also the sculpt is different with Jotaro's being much wider versus Dio's which goes inward a bit. Not applicable to every SAS though since the peg holes in them are larger so you may need to use the mini-arms with Jotaro to support them for other figures or SAS.

Black Jotaro's not an exclusive, and not particularly expensive. If you decide on black Jotaro, try to make sure that it's Jotaro 1.5 (2012 release, updated sculpt) and not the older Jotaro 1 (2009 release).

Depends. I figured we would see some recolors for Part 4 when the anime aired but we ended up getting a recolor Giorno with a new headsculpt alt on top of the original, reissue of Bruno, WF Okuyasu (still no reissue in site for Okuyasu 1st), and a couple of reissues of other Part 4 characters. And of course new sculpt Rohan.

I wouldn't put it pass Medicos to do a new color for Part 6 but it would probably be something like a Hermes 2nd or Diver Down 2nd, so whatever they feel like doing(if it wasn't another round of reissues again).

You could try to very lightly sand it down for a flush fit. Though a bigger worry is the fact reissues have the new skin paint which is a few tones lighter than the original SAS shading back then. I'm sure someone a shot some time ago with the smiling Josuke head on the reissue body but I'm not sure if the skin shading is a stark contrast to the body and neck.

Nah, the eyes on some King Crimson's varied and it was seen in the 1st and WF releases. I know I've seen one where the eyes on both KC and Epitaph are literally looking up. I got lucky with WF and Blue ver. for the most part but I can't imagine the luck to get both KC and Epitaph's eye's to be painted to look where they are supposed to.

It's a bit too obvious Dio's hand is coming off the joint though I see what you're doing. Not sure what you're aiming to do with Wham and Esidesi but it could be better if the space allows it. Same case with Young Joseph.

Magician's Red needs to look a little more dynamic or float behind Avdol(or maybe just shift their position to Avdol facing front since the side angle isn't so nice with the ways the legs are posed)

Overall it's okay but play around with the limbs a little and try to see what you can do with them versus what you imagined they look good in. Though I can imagine the limitations of using the standard base since there are only two holes which are across from eachother thus limiting certain angles and displays unless you get the WF only base packs or borrow from Jotaro 3rd and Black Dio.

So what do you guys do for Jolyne and her strings? The flesh-colored or neon green strings are just way too weird and I don't feel they work very well on a technical level anyway.

Weird as it may be, I wonder if Spiderman we shooting accessories might actually work well.
