General thread for all things army men, including medieval knights, cowboys and indians, spacemen and everything in between.
Kicking it off with my Russian infantry and their vintage artillery, sometime I'll ask /his/ if they really got so desperate that Napoleonic field guns were pressed into service.
>>6081771
Kind of going on the question asked towards the end of the previous thread, when does a army man purchase get too pricey? I have been looking at this set for some time now on Amazon. It will periodically pop up for sale, around $30, and the stock quantity listed is always 1. This feels like a artificially inflated price.
>>6081814
These guys are currently $40 on Amazon, and I have seen them as high as $70. About six months ago I was able to snag two tubs for $15. Toys R' Us sells them online, and in store. They just happened to be out of stock at the time. So I signed up for their in-stock email alert. Sure I had to wait, but the amount of figures I got for the price was ridiculous.
I'm pretty sure someone was asking about this set in the last thread..
>>6081820
I have not seen this bag before. Those are clones of the last Airfix set made and were not widely distributed. I will have to go check it out on Amazon.
>>6081820
Toys R Us has a couple of good tubs for 10 bucks each. Their buy one get one half sale is always a lot fun.
>>6081814
I may have been a bit spoiled by several years of finding great quality army men at dollar store prices. The soldiers I usually see at TRU are clones of TimMee's Vietnam War troops and feel overpriced compared to previous times I've bought them. I guess availability is largely responsible for the price increase, though I wonder if there's some monopolizing going on.
>>6080997
They're separate listings, hence the price. Here's the bag of lads: https://www.amazon.com/TimMee-PLASTIC-ARMY-MEN-Soldier/dp/B005LDBCC6/ref=s9_simh_gw_g21_i2_r?_encoding=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=E52SBQCYSTFZ6MXSAVEJ&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=a6aaf593-1ba4-4f4e-bdcc-0febe090b8ed&pf_rd_i=desktop
>>6081820
I've got a pack of these at home.
>>6082456
>$70 for 100 soldiers, tanks, and artillery
$12.99 will buy you 100 soldiers. How are you spending the other $57?
>>6084127
They're in the related products, sorry. They should be, at least.
I bought a good deal Of Star Wars guys. I will happily take a few bags of the following...
-Terminators (Arnold)
-Borg
-Federation
Please better than that Alien crap.
>>6084368
I compared that to a few other listings. They give you more bang for your buck, but don't looks as nice as the Timme stuff.

>>6084380
Where were you able to find those Star Wars figures? Sadly I do not have any of those other items mentioned, nor was I aware they existed as army men.
>>6084499
I am not the originally poster but those Star Wars guys are from Hasbro's Star Was Command Line.
They came out like 2 years ago now but were dropped after two waves. You can still find them on e-bay and amazon.
>>6084490
Hmm I'm torn about this as well... Great variety and mass of quanity of troops... but yea the quality of the the guys is just a bit off compared to the Toy Story Bucket o' Soldiers or the Tim mee stuff..
>>6084495
Oh yeah those are the ones I got at the liquidation centre a while back, the tan stuff was green but otherwise they were the same, were only $9 Cdn a package though. Wish they'd get them in again, those accessories and Hawk missile batteries alone are worth it.
Found a buck o soldiers for £3 at a charity shop the other day, not too many missing.
>>6087919
Nice find then! I paid 17 for mine. It was worth it still, but at 3 pounds, that's a steal. Did it have the paratroopers?
I know it's early yet, but anyone have any xmas hauls for Army Men yet?
>>6089107
no, unfortunately those were among the few MIA.
>>6089864
Nooo, well...at 3 pound mate, it it's a good find..but the paratroopers are a really fun bunch
maybe tomorrow I'll bring some soldiers to work for a few pics.
>>6094125
Fuck yea you will... I have some extra loot from X-mas...so it may be time to invest in either those Star Craft Space Marines (pic related)... or a tub of the Tim Mee Green Tan armies.

http://friendlyghost.typepad.com/lost_found_vintage_toys/2013/11/toy-castles.html
I had a version of that when I was little, with most of the pieces missing. I always wanted to get a proper one, but I can't find a name/company. That blog is the closest I've come to it, but still no name.
Anyone knows?
>>6096718
According to the comments on that blog it was a mail-order castle with no specific brand, unfortunately there probably isn't a way to get one now unless you luck out on ebay or a garage sale.
I never had a proper castle as a kid myself, more recently through garage sale finds I eventually got a few boxes of Siege games (known as Weapons & Warriors elsewhere) and have used the pieces to improvise one. I also once built a castle out of popsicle sticks and glue with my brother, it was pretty neat with towers, working gate and a siege tower but it took up so much space we ultimately had to move it to a shed outside where it rotted. Someday I want to build another, this time modular so it can be taken apart and stored better.
Oh yeah there was one other "castle" of sorts I had, back in the 90s when Pogs were all the rage there were potato chip companies that included plastic pogs in their bags of snacks, some kinds were made with indents like cogs so you could stick them together, I got enough to built a decent-sized fort and many battles were fought over it. I only use them sparingly now as repeatedly blasting the walls apart has worn the indents but I might have to dig them out sometime again.
>>6096944
Schleich makes some great castles. I combined two together to make a mega castle.
You can see the rest of the pics for this on my blog. https://toddstoysoldiers.wordpress.com/2016/05/08/schleich-castle-attack/
>>6099241
Cool, I like the blog! Keep it updated! Have you ever thought about doing army men reviews on Youtube or something?? I'd love to see you do unboxings and reviews on things like the Starcraft marines, the castle towers, etc
>>6100536
I have not had a chance to take any new photos recently. When I do, I add things up there. Posting tends to be sporadic at times because of that.
And I have not thought about doing reviews on YouTube. Not sure how much of an interest there would be over all for it. I know a couple of people do reviews for Lego and Playmobil. I suppose I could always put together a couple of reviews in my (little) spare time and see what happens.
Took a few more things from my collection to work today, think I'll make it a habit to keep the thread alive heh.
These soldiers were created by borrowing poses from old British WW2 paras, US GIs and German infantry with a few alterations in the details, and a couple poses I'm less sure about. This amalgamation of poses is unusual as the copied armies were a little out of scale to each other, the three US poses are visibly bigger than the rest while the Brits and Germans are just about the same size.
I have them in green and a yellow-tan color, bought a ton of them years ago at a long-gone dollar store and more recently sold off a majority of the troops to save space, but I kept a company's worth of each.

Manning a coastal gun emplacement.
>>6107295
Oh please tell me you have the name of the set where this cannon come from! I want to make a diaramma of an artillery company. Like 3 or 4 canons like this, in a trench, with sandbags and maybe a pillbox
>>6108717
Don't know sets but you can get them individually, got mine here:
http://www.toysoldiersdepot.com/store.php?seller=thedustyloft&Tsearch=artillery&per=6&pd=3130558&num=
Guess they're out at the moment but there's other places that have it, search for Ideal recast artillery.
Had a nice Artillery to. As kid - I was the only one in my neighborhood with a "real firing" Artillery
Still have it together with the rest of my Army

>>6109353
I have a few of those, some firing some non-firing, also have several of the larger version. I think I have some of the shells stashed away somewhere.

>those Majorette vehicles
I had the AA truck and SAM truck, think they're still kicking around my collection somewhere. The camo was different though, dark greens. Are those more recent, mine were from the 90s.
>>6109861
No those are from the 90's to. Just modified the SAM truck to an Radar Vehicle.
Can you remember those vehicles?
Turret and hull made of cast metal and the rest made of plastic?
I loved those things!
>>6109863
I used to have the attack helicopter with a bunch of buttons on the side for different sound effects, gave it away though.
>>6109892
Don't know if they're related but I had a tank with a metal hull, the turret was entirely plastic. It ended up a casualty of the pruning I gave my collection a couple years ago.
>>6110784
Those are both my pics, I also have three German 88s by Marx, although mine were missing the barrel pieces. This site sells the full assembly as well as custom-made barrels for those in my situation, I ordered some and they'll eventually get to me through an intermediary (site only ships to US).

My coastal Artillery
>>6111475
Oh wow, this is like exactly what I was looking for in terms of a diaramma... Did you make that?? That's pretty awesome. I'd have painted the base like beige though, to make it look like sand
>>6109892
Oh fuck, got that exact model down the basement with several others from that line. Also have a dual rotor helicopter on my shelf from it.
>>6111795
No its the D-Day gun emplacement from Airfix.
Found mine on the flea market
>>6112557
Make pics please! I had a tank destroyer from that line to.

It was sold at Target for last year or the year before. I will try and take a better picture for you in tonight or tomorrow.
>>6120044
Thanks, looks like a pretty neat set. Might have to order myself one, probably through the US Amazon rather than Canadian cuz the latter has it for like 40 Cdn heh.
Here's some ninjas just cuz.
>>6120335
Yeah, it is nice little set. The soldiers are basically updated copies of the Timmee molds that you see every place.
I have a bunch of those ninjas. They are pretty chill. I remember getting a whole bunch when I was kid from the arcades.
>>6120504
Most of mine came from a Winnipeg dollar store that's long gone I'm sure. That place was great, They had row after row of bins with little bagged figures, three or four bags for a dollar, I raised an army of German infantry along with the ninjas heh.
Some of the latter also came from an online store (toysoldiersdepot I think?), it had black, white and grey ninjas with better details and new poses, like this guy.
>>6124053
If you have any flea markets in your area, check them out. I have found all kinds of fun things there.
And I am a big fan of Toysoldiedepot.com. I know the guy that runs it and see him at shows a lot.
>>6124059
Aren't many flea markets in my area unfortunately, I miss those in Brussels where I used to live, the street ones were great for random army men. I've gotten lucky at thrift stores here a couple times, kijiji as well but it's few and far between.
These guys have unusual backstories. The lighter green with more details were from a Red Lobster when I was a little kid, they had a treasure chest of toys that every kid could pick something out of and that was mine, one of my first armies heh. Their darker, smoother brothers were prizes at West Edmonton Mall's amusement park arcade, many quarters were sacrificed for them.
>>6124053
Dat swastika
>>6124120
Yeah, there are a couple of flea markets by me here(US here) but the pickings are always the best. There are a couple of sellers that I am friendly with and they keep an eye for items that would interest me.
And that story is pretty cool. I have a huge collection now but I still know which of solder is my first. I won him at some random arcade. He is a terrible clone of a German soldier and is just a smooth grey piece at this point. Clearly the mold was not a very good one.
Also, here is a better shot of the helicopter like I promised. Sorry it took so long.
>>6127947
And here it is with a couple of the soldiers that come from the same set.
>>6120335
Here is a small part of my ninja collection as well. These are probably my favorite line of poses.
And just for fun, here are some knights and men at arms having a little skirmish.
>>6127963
And just another angle.
I have all kinds of figures and eras. If anyone wants to see something in particular, let me know I will dig something out if I have it.

>>6127960

>>6127966
Very cool stuff, thanks for the closeup of the Little Bird, probably going to order one of those sets sometime. Really like those longbowmen too, they're all too uncommon in medieval knights sets I've found.
I still have my very first soldier too, fittingly he's a british infantryman with a tommy gun. I don't have a clue how he came into my possession, he's an orange color that I've never seen before or since, I have acquired many of the same pose in other colors but he remains unique. One of his legs is broken but you can't tell unless you look closely, he still soldiers on with a special army of men who don't belong to all my other armies.
Pic related is a sampling of that Veterans' Division heh.
>>6128493
And here's another random little army I took to work today, it's a mash-up of old recognizable poses but there's still some originality to them, that space guy in particular I'd only found in much smaller sizes previously. Found them in green and tan, and more unusually red and blue.
>>6128501
I am a fan of those space guys. This blog post(not mine) has a great little summary about them in case you were interested.
http://fantasytoysoldiers.blogspot.com/2015/12/galoob-xpanders-knockoffs-and-imitators.html
>>6128493
Most of the generic knight sets that you would pick up at places like Toys R Us or Target(or their equivalents around the world) just have armored knights. You have go looking online for archer poses and a bit of variety.
I picked up an order of these guys: http://www.toysoldierco.com/Plastic-Toy-Soldiers/Plastic-Toy-Soldiers/Unpainted-Plastic/Standing-Firing-Archer---damaged-archer-special/Product.aspx?ProductID=10900&DeptID=6&&
and they really helped fill out of my army. Most just had snapped bow strings but if you just shave off the extra plastic, you would never know.
>>6129115
I might have to get some of those bowmen myself. I do have a handful of the Robin Hood guys, one of my random lucky thrift store finds. The sole archer of that pose had his bowstrings, the upper part broken apart but I glued it together. His previous owner saw fit to partially paint him, none of the rest were touched although one of quarterstaff guys had holes all over for some reason.
>>6129115
Also I'd seen a bit about those space guys in other threads but not anything so detailed, thanks for the informative link. Had no idea Galoob made the originals, I was big on their MicroMachines forever ago but never saw those.
I brought my small collection of random medieval dudes in today, those Robin Hood guys among them. All of them save for one little group came from thrift stores, flea markets, a random lot or two off ebay. Many are in rather poor condition but I hang on to them anyway, largely for their uniqueness.
>>6130450
I need to try and make stands for all the poor souls lacking them, though I'll still be stuck with just two horses for the excess of riders.
>>6130466
>>6130481
I love that guy with the rock heh.
>>6130486
Last of the bunch, these ones are peculiar in how they were obtained. They came in one of those digging kits, where you get a little hammer and chisel and pretend you're on an archaeological dig or something, heh. This one was pretty fancy, it included a game board and rules to use the little figs in a game, those bits have sadly been lost but I still have the guys.
>>6130436
Yeah, I have a couple of the Marx Robin Hood figures as well. They are some nice sculpts. Dulcop has a pretty cool set as well. I have about two dozen that decorate the top of my door frame.
>>6130450
And not a problem. That is one of my favorite blogs for information. He does a good job but his main area is fantasy toy soldiers (hence the name).
And here are some DFC archers for your viewing pleasure. This probably one of my favorite poses, even if the helmets make no sense on archers since it would restrict their vision.
>>6130466
I had this set as a kid. I used them for a diorama I made in Elementary school. There are a couple still floating around as well. They are nice clones of Britains Deetail figures.
>>6130481
I have not seen the gold figure in the Turban in the back before.
And I have nice size Britains Deetail knight collection. They make some nice figures that are relatively inexpensive.
>>6130486
The dude with the rock is made by Airfix. I have a couple as well and they are nice touch for stopping those pesky invaders.
>>6130493
I like the unique banner pose and the peasant pose in this set. Medieval armies would be made up of a lot of peasants but nobody ever makes a figure for that.
And I think most of these pieces are Starlux clones.
And here are some jean hoefler knights fighting a dragon because why not.
And just to change it up a bit, here is a cut throat crew of pirates. This is part of a bigger photo set that is going to go up on my blog at some.
Has anyone purchased one of the Tiny Troopers Big Battle Drums? I've seen them for about $40 and have thought about it, just curious if they're worth the $.
>>6130522
Is that a Playmobil ship?
>>6130791
You can probably find better guys cheaper. Assuming I have found the right product, it looks like Chinese clones of Airfix WWII guys with a bunch of random accessories.
The pieces are going to be just a bit skinny and slightly misshaped. I am not sure I would spend 40 bucks on them. You can probably find them cheaper on e-bay or aliexpress by buying directly from a Chinese wholesaler.
>>6130803
Indeed it is. Playmobil makes some solid Castles and Ships and they go great with 1/32 scale (54mm, classic toy soldier size) soldiers.

>>6133502
Someone with a rather exceptional definition of "collectible". There used to be an online store that sold them for 6-7 bucks, I got my two green Bradleys from there but it's been gone for a while now. The three grey ones came from a dollar store across town that has also since expired, most unfortunate in both cases.
The vehicle itself was originally a MicroMachines playset, I had one but broke and discarded it forever ago, a most regretful loss. These remakes are cheaply made, most of mine have superglue repairs of one kind or another but they are awesome indeed.
Another little army today, unusual in that there's no combat poses whatsoever. The soldiers appear to be marines in parade dress, I don't remember when or where I got them or if they came with any accessories, they're best suited for garrison or honor guard duty.
>>6135295
wow...that honestly is a first...I never seen anything like those before...Preeeety cool, not sure if I'd get 'em though, maybe have like a couple..
>>6135349
It was a random dollar store find some years ago, that's all I can recollect for a lot of my armies. They're certainly unique, a little bigger than the average plastic soldier too. One of the men in parade rest pose wasn't quite finished out of the mold but somehow came out looking like an officer with a baton so I made him a colonel.

No I think they my idea was they were spies sent to investigate why the enemy tank is behaving odd and the turret nor tank doesnt seem to move so they crawled through the caves and went to investigate, that guy stayed behind, first spy gets captured, then the second spy is crawling out of the cave to investigate whats going on and why he hasn't returned.
Does he try to save his spy buddy or report back to HQ that the enemy tank is just a turret and the enemy flanks are vulnerable but let his buddy get captured and killed for being a spy.
Being an army man ain't easy.
>>6084514
Where did you get those stormtroopers? Need to know, senpai.
>>6137427
Most of these are new this season, just about froze my ass sitting in the snow for this setup heh. I don't post them anywhere but here, having an army men general has been good motivation to have some fun with them at work.
>>6137965
Here's another little bunch of oddballs, I've organized them as a "specialist" company as it includes engineers, sharpshooters and aviation ground support crew. That last group originally came with a large aircraft carrier, had to sacrifice it in one final transatlantic move, I miss it.
>>6137983
>prone soldiers
those are the best, shame there are so little around in all the packs I found
>>6137779
The stormtroopers are from the Hasbro Star Wars Command Line. There were like 2.5 waves of sets that came out about 1.5 to 2 years ago now.
They came in sets of like 9, 12, and 20 usually. There were also a couple of specialty sets that had more figures for army building. You can still find them on Amazon or E-bay
.>>6137983
Pretty sure these are all Marx clones as well.

The last thread I first bought the tank and then tried to remove the printed paper, it turned out to be a far more difficult and ultimately less than satisfying process heh. I intend to get a few more of them, they're the first decent tank I've seen in ages I don't already have.
>>6145626
lol, yea I was the anon who sort of accidently provoked you to remove it...sorry about that! but hey now we know, to keep the tampo sticker on lol.
Does anyone know if the Toy Story Bucket O Soldiers ever made any tanks or support units? I love my bucket o soldiers, and would love to see if they had any of the similar quality vehicles...
>>6145626
I kinda like it without the sticker more, looks like the side skirt armor WWII tanks had, makes it look tougher
>>6145834
True facts actually...The "skirted" side wall is pretty cool looking
>>6145876
I always loved that look better than exposed tracks, schürzen is cool too
>>6145834
While I agree the side skirt armor look is appealing, in the case of this tank it's not really the better option. For one it was very difficult just to get the paper off, you can see the plastic is pretty scuffed up. The plastic is also completely featureless, side armor always has at least some of the road wheels peeking out in places. Lastly the two screw holes stand out like sore thumbs.
I don't think the Japanese had many battles in winter conditions, if at all, but they do here heh.

What do you all think of this set? It's the "Tank in a Tin". You get one really nice detailed WWII tank with what looks like moving parts, and 12 troops, for ten bucks...and a nice decorative tin to store 'em.. I just wish there were more variations...
https://www.amazon.com/Westminster-Tank-Tin/dp/B01FE90OCK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485743534&sr=8-1&keywords=tank+in+a+tin
>>6155130
On the surface it sounds like a worthwhile buy, the customer reviews give me pause though. From the sound of things the tank and soldiers are a lot smaller than they appear and the mechanics of the tank are flawed, I'd personally give it a pass.
Now the tanks in pic related are pretty good, back when they were a dollar each from the Dollar Giant across town I picked up a battalion's worth, they're Panzer IIIs but are generic enough to be many tanks. I don't know where to find them nowadays though.
>>6155174
>tfw I bought so many I ended up having to sell some and the rest of pic related to free up storage space
It occurred to me after army-building just a little too enthusiastically that I was never going to require vast reserves to replace battlefield losses in a protracted plastic war, as me and my bro had fought our last major conflict years before and were unlikely to resume. Good times...

>>6155130
I actually just saw this set for the first time at a flea market over the weekend. It is a neat little set but too small for my tastes. The pieces are like 1/72 scale.

Holy tank corps batman
>>6156541
If my remaining plastic armor wasn't in a large bin underneath skyscrapers of containers I'd pull them out for a shoot, maybe when I can make space to move stuff around.
>>6156863
Yooooo you made me nostaliga so hard with that original Jurassic Park velociraptor!! I had the same one. You push it's head and it's mouth opens...total human chomping action
>peg leg
>hook hand
>parrot
>treasure chest
>cutlass-fencing
>swashbuckling
Pirates, as cliché as you can get.
Picked up this set from Dollarama yesterday, chiefly for for the accessories but the aircraft are pretty nice as well. At $3 Cdn it's not really worthwhile for stocking up on containers and jerry cans but I have a healthy collection of those already, just wanted to get something new.
Hey, peeps.
I recently saw a bucket of Corps Elite army men at Walmart and was kind of interested in maybe painting them up a bit to practice my skills. Maybe even build a game around it with some friends.
I was wondering what your guys' thoughts were on these. Pretty decent figures?
>>6164691
I like the poses and even bought two buckets worth. They are very reminiscent of Starship Trooper type figures (the movie, not the book) and other similar type poses.
They are just shy of 54mm but their poses are legit.

Fuuu I keep forgetting to check out walmart's army men selection whenever I go there... Now that it's fresh in my memory, I may take the trip tomorrow. Will report back with any finds...

I saw a soldier book end at charity shop today. Should i have bought it?
Pic related it was the one on the right.
>>6176130
Oh crap, those are pretty neat!
Found them on ebay and amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Army-Men-Bookends-Inspired-Soldiers/dp/B00GHULX0S
and hell yes you should have bought it you fool! Pity you couldn't have gotten both, but either way, they're fucking cool. I may order them
>>6176130
Take a pic of the book end that you got...curious to see what it looks like, size, dimensions of a real life one...
Spent some time with my Veterans' Division today, all the soldiers I've acquired over the years with no army of their own.
All these clones, copies and resizes of US GIs, somehow M2 gunners were plentiful as survivors of their original units.
Desert Storm guys.
Some classic Timmee Vietnam era dudes with a few of the more recent pose swaps, the latter finding their way into the division as defects.
Probably the most copied and reproduced army set of all, WW2 British paras.
Some more classic troops from before stands became standard.
There's a crazy amount of mortars, machine guns and antitank weapons in this one division.
Germans, Japs, Brits and Yanks from WW2, now together under the Longcat banner alongside some pint-sized modern soldiers.
Most of the rest, so many armies now down to just one or two representatives, many with broken or missing bits thus the Veterans designation. I treasure these guys.
Does anyone here have this set? To me, this is like the holy grail, of army men wants.... But 55 dollars...Whyy... I love the bomber, it look massive, and could make for some sweet back drops and photo ops...
>>6179574
Cause it's made in Merika. Same thing made in China would probably cost $5.
>>6179513
Heh the Longcat flag, I was inspired to make it years ago after randomly stumbling across the Fort Longcat article on Encyclopedia Dramatica, its first use was my own fort, a repurposed car garage.
The book is from an old Time-Life series, The Seafarers, that particular volume is on the Spanish Main. I'm quite fond of those Time-Life books, with relatives working at a thrift store it's been easy to collect them and have so many now I use a stack as a bedside table heh.
>>6179574
I have a Canadian variant, mine's just the C-130 and not a Spectre gunship, got it from a garage sale and its a bit beat up but I keep it around anyway.
>inb4 dust-related comments
Pic is years old and the best one I have, I've since cleaned it up and haven't let it get like that anymore.
>>6179849
Weeeellll I think you need to take some new pics!! the Canadian version looks idential to the American Timmee one, minus the stickers...
>>6179878
Yeah I should, maybe I'll take it to the rink sometime heh. On the opposite side it doesn't have the guns but it does have the side and rear ramps.
Well I went ahead and brought it to work today heh.
We're having a heat wave and the ice was sweating some, got a bit soaked but I love how it turned out.
I was going to do another setup with the Herc crashed into a mountainside but never got around to it.
>>6181397
lol, more like how much of a stereotype are you...
Nice pics though mate! The bomber looks classy as fuck. I still want to get the TimMee USA version.
Can you store vehicles and troops inside? does it have open hatches?
>>6181397
Eh
>>6181406
It's entirely hollow on the inside and has a side door and rear ramp. It's roomy enough inside for a good number of troops or a few vehicles, I think even the ubiquitous M48 can squeeze inside.
>>6181414
Hmm again it's 55 bucks on amazon... what I may do is get the Copter...it's half the price, plus it's smaller and easier for me to display...
>>6181427
And or... for a more comical, whimsical version..
>>6181427
I remember a catalog many years ago had the plane, helicopter or one like it and an aircraft carrier with a bunch of soldiers, I forget how much it was but I kick myself a little for not putting the set on my Christmas wish list heh. Well I did already have the carrier, its loss being another regret...
>>6176130
Hey you still around?? Check out what I just bought!!
>>6182901
>>6182915
Heavier than I thought they'd be! Pretty darn cool though. I"ll take a pic later when I get them supporting my books
>>6182935
I need some better flags..

I could hook you up heh.

Cooling off again at least, annoying as hell though.

Are there any other 1/34 werewolves around? I want some Dog Soldiers action but this guys are too D&D.
This thread is making me wanna bust my dudes out of their drawers.

Do it! and take some pics for us Army Men collector fans! Speaking of which.. My Bucket 'O Soldiers found a jeep motor pool!

Dulcop Robin Hood Figures
>>6192903
Are you looking for figures as is? Or were you planning on doing some converting?
I've had a D&D game in the works for some time now. Not sure if I should send Ken Ham an invite.
Dinosaurs and cavemen are TimMee. The little guys are Biblical warriors from Caesar Miniatures. The terrain is from some Toys R' Us sets.

Where did you find those tanks? They are pretty cool looking.
>>6213162
Found them at a party store, went through a bit of an adventure with one cuz of the somewhat tacky paper treads heh.
>>6213415
lol..yea..sorry again for that suggestion to remove it.. I love your winter campaign pics though! You need to get some ruskies for them to be hunting
>>6218083
Haha it's really not a big deal, kinda funny even.
I have a handful of Russians, wish there was a way to build up an army that didn't break the bank, all the ones I finds are spendy to get in quantity heh.
In other news I found these at Dollarama today, same company, packaging and tiny soldiers as the other set but this time with helos galore. I'm a sucker for helicopters, even if they're at such a small scale, I'm especially digging how all six are different types. In green we have a CH-46 Sea Knight, RAH-66 Comanche and AH-64 Apache, in blue there's a CH-47 Chinook, a type I'm uncertain about and an MI-28 Havoc. They also came with a couple sandbag walls, building ruins, a couple trees and a blank flag but it's all about the helos for me, I got the last two packages they had.
>>6218407
Hey, not bad! The Chinook itself makes it worth it.. the apache style copters I've seen, but chinooks I dont' see... Reminds me of Army Men: Air Assault

HMMMMMMMMMMMM
Found this beauty and the various figures while flea market shopping today.
(The light blue knights came from a friend on facebook)
>>6222676
I have a bunch of those silver and blue guys, didn't know they had cavalry too.
>>6224926
Indeed. They are hard to find though since only the original sets came with riders.
You can find the knights done in plastic as well now on Amazon but without the riders.
https://www.amazon.com/Toysmith-36-Piece-Guardian-Knights-Action/dp/B000YA7FS6
>>6224950
I have the plastic ones in black and grey, the colored ones in red as well. A shame they dropped the horsemen, my medieval armies are pretty lacking in cavalry overall and those ones are nice.
>>6224969
It is one of the hardest groups for me to find as well.
I currently have a mixture of Jean Hoffler, Britains Deetail, and the Toy Major ones sold in the buckets at Toys-R-Us.
I also found the following a couple of months ago and picked up a set.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/28-pcs-Knights-Warriors-Horses-Medieval-Toy-Soldiers-Figures-Playset-/371785882735?hash=item56902a5c6f:g:InIAAOSwGvhT7IFx
This set is pretty neat. Quality is so-so but the poses are unique and different. It comes with 8 horses, 4 in silver and 4 in black. You can find it a bit cheaper if you shop around e-bay.
Some of my oldest toy soldiers, I've had those red Brits and blue Germans since I was about 7, 31 now.
Some nice toy soldiers you got here.
You mind if I take a closer look at them with this magnifying glass under that hot sun?
Might as well cap the images.
Gentlemen, it's been a pleasure.
