Are figures with function applications still technically /toy/s?
Those aren't toys at all. They're bottle openers that happen to be shaped like people.
A "figure" is a figure, and depending on intended purpose may or may not be a toy. An action figure is a toy.

If you can play with it, it's a toy.
Pic related. It's the giant metal hovering robot, coming to kill you with his drill of death!

>dun dun, dun dun dun, dun dun
>C'MON!
>>6077958
That's a luchador bottle opener, anon
That's not a toy
It's a novelty bottle opener
That's it

It has zero points of articulation.
statueshit

My grandma had one of those. And i actually used it as a toy...
You said it, they are FIGURES.
>>6078148
but it has a play feature.
your argument is the same as calling a nerf gun or a toy speederbike a statue
If an object is intended to be a toy or is played with as a toy then it is a toy. It's that simple. Those bottle openers are not intended as a toy, but if a kid plays with one then that one is a toy.

>Figure =/= toy
Yes? It does? I had plenty of static/unarticulated figures as a kid, but they were still toys. I had a bunch of Digimon figures I played with as a kid, are you trying to tell me that they aren't toys?
>>6079261
That's just you being too poor to afford proper articulated toys and resorting to statueshit figures.
Lovely
>>6079261
where's you get all those?
>>6079261
Those are figurines. You can play with your dick and make Gun noises, doesn't make it a toy.
>>6078330
>Figure =/= toy
are you literally retarded, that's exactly what I was saying
>>6078023
I played with these so fucking much as a kid, i always imagine it as a robot doing jumping jacks.
>>6079261
I never said anything about articulation. Plenty of toys don't have articulation.
Simply being a figure does not make something a toy. Figure =/= toy.
it amuses me how this goes about manchildren bitching about what is a toy and what isnt

The autism is so thick in here you could cut it with a katana.

Awww...truth hurts, dunnit, Princess?
What a dangerous animal.
Have your figures grab a hold, pull it back and let it launch them into the air!
>>6080433
I thought my dad just had this figurine of a weird animal on his desk because I was too stupid to know what it's for but too imaginative to just ignore it.
>>6077958
Had one of these growing up.
>>6080433
I totally had one of those attack my figures occasionally.
This articulationfag is the most annoying shitposter in this board.
Poor kids general?
