Just okay.
Right off the bad, his proportions are weird, very lanky. Turns out this is how they were described in the original lore. Tall and slim, extremely fit..so I can look beyond this.

My problem with the figure is it's articulation. Swivel hinge neck, no ball joint, single elbows with only an elbow swivel, no bicep. Finally the long legs sorely lack a calf swivel.

When you couple the proportions with the sub par articulation, it makes poses that look both dynamic and natural quite difficult.

He looks sick though.

How are his shoulders? One really nice thing I noticed the other rogue one troopers is that their chest armor is narrow enough that they can bring their arms in further than parallel when they're straight forward. It makes two handing their rifle surprisingly easy even with the gimped elbows.

My revan case came in today from dorkside. Gotta say for all the hype Revan looks massively disappointing. Paint is meh kinda flat. Haven't opened him yet thinking i may just scalp him and sabine. Obi wan looks pretty good, surprisingly. AtAT driver and Snowtrooper are standouts of the wave.

Just saw Rogue One, honestly, I found ep7 to be underwhelming at best. Old Han Solo appearing was cool sure but found all the new characters in Abram's take to be unbearably dumb.

Got my MAFEX Vader today. First non-black series figure. Holy fuck have I been missing out. I've held out so long because I've never been able to justify the price of a MAFEX or Figurarts after seeing comparison pics between them and black series, but holy fuck is immediately apparent in person. Vader makes my black series figures look like toys for 3 year olds, and I can pose him in just about any pose I want easily. I'll probably order a Figuarts soon to test them out, but MAFEX made a fan out of me.

So I got my hands on a second Revan and I'm working on replacing the hood and cape completely.

Interestingly, they sculpted a back of Revans helmet.

This was such a pain to cut through but it's so nice to actually have the ability to move his head now.

The sheer weight of it is also what was holding down the rest of the molded parts of his cape-robe-thing.

Shaved a tiny bit from the bottom of the robe. That, combined with the weight of the hood being gone means he can actually raise his arms up a decent amount now.

Also the cape wasn't glues. Just looped around the neck, so it's easy to remove and replace.

Shaved a little at the bottom of the bicep so he can get a proper basically-90 degrees now.

Now I just need the custom cape and hood I ordered to come in and he'll be all set. I'll update with pics when that arrives in a few days.

If it all turns out well, and after I paint his middle sash, I'm thinking of doing a giveaway contest thing of the unmodded Revan I first got. Anyone think that'd be fun to do?

Rickhor capes are pretty good. Just wished it didnt take so long for shipping. Only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on more. I think its a great idea for your revan. Will you be distressing them up a bit? I really like the tattered look the stock one has.

And as another tip. The rickhor capes are a bit starchy but if you take a water spray bottle and just lightly spray it then sort of mold it on the body to your liking. Then when it dries it will retain its shape close to the body and sit or standup how you want it.

You could sort of copy what hasbro did with theirs as a guide/pattern.
Im no customizer but ive done this process for ripping up my jeans. Small cuts with an exacto. Random and not too orderly. Run a shaving razor across the hem and fringe to distress the threading and sort of nip the weft. Fine toothed sand paper run along edges and holes to further age it and get that distressed look. A wash of some brown paint really watered down on the edge will give you like a tattered dragged through dirt and constant fighting look. Shit after describing this I kind of want to do it myself. Maybe if I can score a second revan in case I mess up.

Hasbros Micro Machine Blind Bags are a nice sandblue albeit in a tiny scale for you. Series 4 or 3 and 1 has TIEs, they are extremely easy to spot because their bags are far thicker than those of other models. In Series 1 you could mistake it for a First Order TIE though.

Doesnt feel like Star Wars, and feels like a small way of tying in the retarded slit visors of the First Order in TFA to the universe previous, but both the design and the tiny slit is just bad.

Figuarts is good, but it's small and kind of primitively sculpted compared to later Star Wars figuarts.

The best one in my opinion is the Mafex Vader. It's tall, has all the articulation that Figuarts does, and a cloth cape with a wire down the sides. If you need a Vader RIGHT NOW, get that one.

Mafex is putting out a Rogue One Vader that looks to have a better sculpt and the size of his head is more accurate. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-026206

The only drawback is that the lightsaber hilt doesn't look like it comes with a red blade.

It's all up to you and how long you feel like waiting for one, but I think Mafex makes the best Vaders, despite making poor nearly everything else.
