With the way certain figures are jumping in price I'm almost tempted to go local at Image Anime if I can skip the shipping pains. I intern at a fashion agency and you see some odd shit every so often in terms of women's fashion but once you see a whole ensemble then it sort of ties it together in its own way. Knowing the fashion world can lend itself to some interesting designs when placed in other media. There was even a dump of images from /fa/ from a show that had outfits that look like something Araki or Kazuma Kaneko would make up and probably one of the few reminders that I wish SMT was popular enough for a figure line from Medicos since they prioritize sculpt and would do wonders for a SMT line versus the statues and D-arts we have now.

Largely handle garments and organization of stuff that comes out of the showroom and returned to us from clients. Occasionally I get sent out to pickup/loan out garment orders from designers themselves or clients from fashion magazines. Basic intern responsibilities but it does allow me to get an idea of fashion outfits even though its mostly up and coming designers rather than really global brands. I've only come across one flashy designer line but we've dropped support from them recently. Plus its all women's lines to boot so no encounters of male fashion that JoJo takes ideas on.

So i got pucci and whitesnake yesterday, and while I generally am very pleased with how they look I couldn't help noticing two things:
Whitesnake is not really painted, he's got what it seems to be a weird sticker-ish layer that could potentially be peeled off.
Pucci's fucking head split is super noticeable, it looks really ugly. This last one bothers me the most since is head is supposed to be smooth and instead has this ugly ass equator going around it.

I doubt the flag will be added on really even back when everyone was speculating and before Gyro and Johnny were even shown by a text announcement. Medicos usually offers some accessory to human SAS so at the very least his revolver should/will be a thing next to a napkin with the date on it. They can do accessories but have very, very questionable choices like Pucci's hat. What will be expected is usually the head choices (and I know Valentine's hair will hinder articulation like Diavolo) and the way figures are rising in costs or price.

Unless Valentine is coming packed in some extravagant way maybe 8k can be a projected price but that's years down the line for now at this pace since villains are usually last on the line and who knows where Medicos will be at that point in time.

My only great fear for Medicos is implementing the WF only figures at smaller numbers than before (even for something as basic as a recolor with no changes in sculpt or addition of accessory.)

Though the biggest sin they committed to me before all of this was not including the Stone Mask for PB Dio. I swear whatever planning teams they may have must be separate if they have this sort of track record for accessories. The only SAS that floored me on accessories was Shinichi and we lose out double jointed arms.

Honestly, I think fans are just so tired of "neutral face and yelling face" that when they finally got something new it disappointed the hell out of them because it wasn't spot on perfect. I also think the sculptor may be having a hard time doing other expressions because Medicos never lets him. It takes practice to get good.

I also think it's an issue of lack of passion. Like they don't really want to even be doing this property. You can see when lack of passion creates mediocre releases in other lines like SHF, figma, etc. The whole thing feels mechanical like they just want to get some quick profit off the line or something.

Depends on how much you want to spend. I would recommend get first Part 4 figures since they might have a price increase. Also, lurk a lot, lurk everywhere. Don't get too hasty or you might buy figures at a dirty deeds done dirty cheap. And for last, but not least important, I always get used figures, since I'm poor. They have a good quality usually. I just started Jojo a week ago and have already binged up to part 3. I've been browsing through the SAS selection and they all seem fairly expensive.
Today I found Joutaro for $40 on plamoya. Is this legit?

You sort of entered a rather bad time to get into the JJBA line for certain figures now since prices jumped which caused even a dirt cheap SAS like Star Platinum 3rd to have sales go for 9k. Another rule of thumb is reissues have much lighter skin tones versus their original counterparts so don't be shocked by looking at other user photos and certain SAS have darker shades of skin.

Depends on your shipping choice of either EMS, RSAL, and whatever other options HLJ has. EMS (DHL also if they have it) comes fast and though I can't say for FL, I've counted the rate of my packages hitting my steps by 3-4 days once Japan Post takes it into their system. RSAL or SAL is generally much slower by going at 2 weeks for a package to arrive though month(s) can happen for waiting times (at least to my estimation and experience.)

Of course there is still the whole holiday situation so maybe slap on a few more days after the chaos of that.

I feel like Making Tusk Act 4 is either going to take forever or just not happen because of the design. Its going to require so many separate pieces for just one figure. Each string will likely be just one piece of soft PVC and I really don't think that would drive the price up very much. Ideally, we'd get each individual piece connected via chain link but we all know that won't happen and I could see that resulting in so many QC issues of people missing "beads" in each strand. Still not that undoable though if you think about it since each strand is identical and doesn't require much in terms of paint.. They just need a dedicated group of people on the assembly line assembling nothing but the strands for the pancho and tossing them in a bin for the rest of the assembly workers to pull from as they assemble the figures. Still won't happen but a man can dream.

I got my Josuke 2nd today, and he's probably the most beautiful SAS I own. Those colors just work so well!

My phone never quite captures the actual color of SAS figures, but it ends up making them look much more vibrant for whatever reason. I think it looks particularly nice on this guy.

Unfortunately this happens to be my first encounter with some pretty spotty QC.

You can kinda see it in the first picture - his right eye has some sloppy outlining. Fortunately it's not too noticeable IRL, but it kinda sucks as this is a relatively expensive release.

Worse is that there's a pretty obvious fingerprint on one of his flared out coat pieces. Not sure how they missed that.

I still really dig him though. Maybe sometime down the road I'll grab a used one if I can and replace those two parts. But first I need a Crazy Diamond.

1st's only issue that I'm aware of is just the facesculpt which was fixed with his 1.5 release with the standard headsculpt we see today. 2nd is just a recolor but I haven't been made aware of any particular QC issues that arises with it. Just avoid the 1st release and keep an eye out for "1.5" if you want that certain colorway.

Though you're better off with Part 4 unless you really want to have a Part 3 Jotaro to display.

They put up a release window and once they sell out then you have to move to either AmiAmi's preowned area or Mandarake for 2nd hand sales if people decide to sell them at shops. Re-issues can occur but Medicos never does 2nd and 3rd re-releases and stuck to just 1st editions of characters. Though I'm not sure which Joseph you want (Part 2 or Part 3) but Part 3 Joseph has been fixed up with his reissue release and they touched up his Hermit Purple accessories. Part 2 Joseph reissue just has a much lighter skin tone that Medicos changed over some time back.

it depends how hard you bake it out. I have to be anal about the smell already (sploof,insense) because dorms so i dont worry about it. If youre hotboxing your room on the reg it will be an issue. a couple of puffs occasionally shouldnt hurt. The smell of them should be your indicator, if you take them somewhere else and they smell dank that means you have a problem. Cigs are so much worse but at the end of the day its still smoke on your figs which isnt good. Your best solution is to just get a case for them.
