WTF!? no tmnt thread?! come on guys.
ANYTHING TMNT RELATED GOES HERE!!!
I need pirate accessories for my fnaf foxy, so, if someone has both, (for whatever reason) how do pirate michaelangelo's accessories look on foxy?
(I like animatronic pirates, don't give a shit either way about the fnaf games, so shut up on that, it looked cool in vange1us' review.)
>>6061615
I have movie Donnie, because I like the nerdy look of him, but he makes me want the other three/four. HOWEVER! I do not need the others to be the same aesthetic, so, suggest some good, geeky turtles for the others plz.
>>6061615
More like wtf is that deviantart tier shit?
>>6061654
it grabs attention in the catalog, would you rather a generic movie poster?
don't like it, go make a proper thread to your criteria.
>>6061661
>Grabs attention "to" the catalog not "in"
Can't type and have shit taste.
>>6061674
how does a picture being in a catalog make sense when phrased as "to the catalog"??
I believe you are the one that can't type well.
>>6061681
Oh here I thought you meant that it was suppose to draw people to the thread. Not not people already in it. Silly me.
>>6061699
it's to draw the eye among the pile of figma shf and the like, and that is IN the catalog board, not on a catalog.
Are the Necas bootlegs any good?
>>6061730
yes, pretty good, get them.
Are the WWE TMNT hitting enough walmart shelves to cause a glut yet? I refuse to step foot into a walmart unless I know I'm leaving with an exclusive and don't need to make two trips.
>>6061753
You have them? Just worried that they would break.
>>6061893
If you mean the comic ones they indistinguishable from the original almost. The joints come pretty tight, just don't hamhand it and you're fine.
>>6061615
is the 2013 line dead? i havent heard news or even a single new toy since that Dimensio X wave
>>6062305
Super Shredder just came out with some more turtle variants under the "Tales of the TMNT" moniker.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tqt793SPds
Where's regular Karai?
All the pics I've seen of her online have her with an ultra derpy face. Can Snake Karai's regular head be swapped & fit well?
>>6065170
They can't
Snake Karai has a smaller head
i'm still waiting for the new blindbag wave
>>6066966
but the mega bloks stuff are pretty legit
what are good figures to pair with the new movie donnatello that aren't the new movie turtles ONLY? I would kinda like to find some good a-typical turtles that are each unique, but similar for the other three, and preferably not have them be bigger than the new movie Donnie.
I recently picked up all four turtles from the 1991 (secret of the ooze) line up. I haven't open them yet and don't have any plans to, however I'm wondering if they are going to continue with this film (my favourite) and release more characters from the movie? I would die for a Tokka, Rahzar and Super Shredder.
>>6066967
Yeah. I bought a set of the classics to enact the crossover my younger self always wanted. We'll see if IDW delivers...
I like these colors just fine, but I wonder if they'll ever release the darker colored Turtles outside of the expensive sets. I like them, but I don't really want to spend $60 on sets I'm not interested in to get them.
>>6067229
Where do you get the mega block original set from? and how much do they usually cost for the four?
>>6067271
I got them from my local Toys R Us for about 6 bucks each, but that was a sale. They're normally 8. I think you can get them for under 5 on Amazon, but as add-on items.
>>6067284
Thanks anon, really appreciate it.
ps if that's your turtles/transformer set up I dig it a lot.
Seriously, where's regular Karai?
Who are her wave-mates? If I see them, then I know she's close.
I'm loving this guy so much. Can't wait for Raph

>>6083835
Really? Will there be knock offs i could afford of them or individual releases?
>>6083960
We can hope
>>6083960
This post (>>6083835) is just a hypothetical. Sorry, didn't mean to get your hopes up.
Individual TMNT releases from Neca are extremely unlikely. Randy has said a few times that the current model is pretty much the only way they can release 1/12 TMNT figures. That said, chinese bootlegs are most likely going to happen, as they already have for Neca's previous con exclusive releases.
>>6061820
sold out in a few days at my local walmart. i managed to grab a raph/sting
I have the Classics Mikey and Donatello. I really like them.
How do these compare to the current Classics at Wal-Mart, and the Figuarts?
>>6085080
IIRC there were three Classic Collection waves from Playmates. The first was based on the 80's cartoon, the second was based on the 1990 movie, and the third was based on Secret of the Ooze.
The first wave was probably the best because Playmates did a pretty terrible job of replicating the look of the Henson turtles, and the SotO wave was even worse because they gave the movie turtles the flesh tones of the Nick turtles, throwing off the resemblance even more.
The Figuarts turtles are in a whole different universe than the Playmates Classic line. The comparison is embarrassing, to be perfectly honest. But they're really pricey, so it really comes down to how much money you're willing to pay versus how happy you are with an comparatively inferior product.
Are we ever getting anything 2003-based or will it continue to be treated like shit for the next few years?
>>6076334
Only issue with that is, in the movies it was TGRI, but that looks amazing, if they weren't at that scale I'd buy them to go with my Diamond Ghostbusters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XqYZtDe_FQ
Wow, the Mondo Leonardo is kind of shit. Pretty inexcusable for how expensive they are. Hopefully the upcoming DreamEX figures will properly fill that 1/6 scale Hot Toys-style niche for TMNT.
>>6085380
Playmates have the better sculpt and don't look as preschool designed like the Figuarts..
Only bad thing about Playmate's stuf was the paint jobs and you really had ot look hard to find one that wasn't derpy.

>>6085471
still a great sculpt and well articulated figure
>>6085503
Speaking as someone that has owned both, the Classic figs are a fucking joke compared to the Figuarts. And that's setting aside the derpy faces and shitty sculpt job.
The plastic is rubbery. The shitty articulated fingers can't firmly grasp the weapons. The ball joint in the neck offers almost no up or down movement. No ankle rocker. The ab crunch doesn't work. And worst of all, the center of gravity is completely fucked so they can't even stand without those shitty sewer lid stands.
They're not the worst figures I've ever seen, but compare them to just about any other adult collector figure and they just don't measure up. And compared to the Figuarts they're fucking laughable.
>>6085561
>The plastic is rubbery. The shitty articulated fingers can't firmly grasp the weapons. The ball joint in the neck offers almost no up or down movement. No ankle rocker. The ab crunch doesn't work. And worst of all, the center of gravity is completely fucked so they can't even stand
And yet, they're better because they dont look like this and more like their cartoon counterparts.
>>6085566
They come with serious faces too you know
Yeah, pretty happy with him. He's a big boy.
>>6085590
yes, and they still look awful.
You know what i mean?
It's like the animation studio going from using TMS to Kennedy Cartoons or AKOM Productions. So off model.

It's like you grew up only knowing bootlegs and revere anything official, despite how poor it is.

>>6077247
>>6085602
Looks like yours came with the same scuffing or whatever on the belt and leather strap. Now I don't feel so bad.
>>6087031
The 'scuffing' is on purpose. It's a painted detail to match the leather in the movie.
After several weeks of searching, I finally spotted a lone Karai on the pegs of my local Target. Holy cripes on toast, her face was really jacked.
Her eyes were crooked going down and to the left. Meanwhile her lips were sliding off the other way. I should have taken a picture because this one shown doesn't do it justice.
Needless to say, I didn't pick her up. I really want my ninja waifu, but I'm going to wait to find one that isn't so fucked up in the face.
>>6087076

There really are better ninja-waifus out there, anon. Good luck in your quest.

getting really tired of this toyline.
>>6092319
Nope, he's got an uneven pair of hands. Two thumbs up, one flat right hand, one holding left hand, two bo staff gripping, one pizza holding right hand.
>>6092319
how much?
I hate that he's not actually 1/4 scale (the Turtles are like, five feet tall) and therefore can't fit on any shelf, but God damn. This figure is amazing. This looks like something Three A or Sideshow would churn out for three times the price.
>>6093850
Movie Turtles aren't that short.
Henson is 6'3" btw
>>6094090
They were a head shorter than April and Judith Hoag is 5' 7". Yes, the suits/actors were not that short. They used trick photography, but you wouldn't want a Samwise figure in scale with Sean Astin.
>>6093850
I can get this for 30 dollars but the arms let me down so much that I don't think I can do it now.
I want so badly to have a figure based on these designs.
>>6094195
30 bucks?! Fucking go for it. I paid $94 and it was worth every penny.
>>6094181
>eyes reach eyeballs on actress
so they're what... 5'5"? 5'4"?
>>6094202
I want to. But the fact that his arms can't move well bugs the hell out of me cause if I have Donnie I need all four and I won't pay full price for the other three.
>>6066967
What set is this from? I only recently saw the Eastmen and Laird megabloks but I hated the "shading" on them
>>6094204
Yes, the TMNT are typically meant to be shorter than human beings. If you're not Michael Bay anyway.
Just picked up my Mondo Leo - aside from having to swap the bicep joints (the parts were labeled wrong so the assemblers must have done this to all of them), everything else is good. I don't have any QC issues like others have reported. I hope the other three come out okay.
>>6094601
>>6087031
^^^same anon who posted this
Got a couple of gripes with Donatello, although he's an amazing figure for the most part.
The ab crunch on mine is extremely floppy; unless I kind of twist him to the left or right and extend him backwards, he flops forward into a slumped position.
My other gripe is that after leaving the ooze canister in his hand for an extended period of time, some of the laminate/finish or whatever from his hand has become stuck to the canister.

So much wasted food, even though it's still perfectly fine. Anyone want to share their dumpster diving stories?

Turtles Aisle
All I can find so far is the mini vehicle sets at Target (DPCI: 087 06 6501).
Supposedly others have seen the playsets, but no idea what the dpci for them are.
>>6096084
I got these for christmas and still feel giddy about getting them. Not only are they detailed considering the cheap price, they happen to be modeled after the secret of the ooze which is my favourite film in the series.
Does anyone know if they plan on releasing any other characters from this film? I would love a Tokka and Rahzar figure, hell even Splinter or Super Shredder would be awesome.
>>6096100
I wouldn't go that far. The cost is especially damning for that thing. I'm glad I didn't fall for it.
>>6096084
So it is Target I need to watch for. Micro Mutants don't make up for the loss of the Shredder Supreme playset, but they're a start in the right direction. I hope they remake/reissue the original city-scapes they had during the original line.
087-06-6514 Is the DPCI for the Pet Turtle Micro Mutants playset.
I was able to get Mikey and Leo. Leo has better portability and storage. The problem with the Mikey set is there's no good places to store some of the stuff and the ramp eats a good portion of space. If only the shell walls had clips or something.
>>6089109
Let's hope this ushers in a new era of micro figure sets (Mighty Max, Polly Pocket, etc.) brothers
They're $15, but the pet turtles are a good size. I definitely like the scale.
>>6094601
I love these dudes. Too bad they're huge. Maybe I can hope for a downsized Chinese knockoff.
All I can find atm are Mikey and Leo pet turtle playsets they come in cases of 4 I think because that's the most I see when they do get restocked. I hope Raph and Donie sets aren't too far behind as I've seen DVD obtain a set.
>BBTS keeps pushing back S.H Figuarts Mikey
Just hurry the fuck up. My entire turtle order + Jason Voorhees is being held up because of you.
>>6096121
I doubt we see any more from Playmates. If we do they'll pop up at ToyFair next month.
>>6102464
thanks anon, appreciate the information.
>>6102442
What's going on with that? I've got Raph, I'm just waiting for Mikey now...is there a reason he got delayed?
>>6109475
unf.
Why the fuck is it 1/4 scale?!
>>6109483
Because Playmates and rights and shit.
I've wanted to start collecting TMNT figures based on the 2007 movie for a while, but I hadn't because they're pretty difficult to find. Even ebay yields slim pickings most of the time. I've finally managed to obtain some of them, and friends, these are hands-down the best TMNT figures Playmates has ever released (save maybe the original '87s).
The sculpting is great, and they're nice and big, unlike most of Playmates' other efforts. At just over 5½ inches, they scale perfectly with the NECA and Figuarts TMNT lines. And believe it or not, I did an apples-to-apples comparison with the original TMNT 2012 Playmates wave, and they even have those figures beat in terms of articulation. They have all the same articulation as the 2012 turtles, with an additional bicep swivel to boot.
Here's the problem though. I won't deny that the NECA and Figuarts beat these figures handily in terms of both articulation and sculpt. And it's not as though these figures are the more economical option, since like I mentioned they're pretty hard to find secondhand. So you kind of have to be a really hardcore TMNT fan to even want to track these down in the first place. But if you are such a fan, I would highly suggest them. They're the best TMNT figures Playmates ever made.
>>6113421
this was the last time Playmates really did their best when they made these. even the variants were useful
>>6113421
I sold mine a long time, sucks they lost access to the molds. They were OKAY at best. I kept the Cowabunga Carl van though.
Collection is complete
Is this a one time thing for Bandai or can we expect a Master Splinter and Shredder in the future?
>>6118387
They've shown Shredder, so he shhhhhould be coming...hopefully fingers crossed? If we get Splinter and Bebop and Rocksteady the line will be a success to me.
>>6118387
"Display only", but with Bandai who knows.
087-06-6519 is for the Micro Mutants Train and Battle (turtle in a turtle) Play Set.
All I could find at one store is an entire case of Raph, so I'm guessing Leo is in a separate wave.
I finally got the Revoltech re-issues and I'm one happy TMNT fan.
Feels like yesterday TMNT collectors had nothing of substance to collect. What a great few years it's been.
>>6083835
Please god let this happen. Would be my holy grail.
>>6119307
what the fuck, i didn't know figuarts turtles were that big
>>6119323
They're not really, it's just a weird perspective. They're about the same size as the Neca figures, maybe a bit bigger.
