Do any of you guys actually buy into this bullshit?
It's such a hideous low crap piece of shit, stop supporting this thing!
>>6061482
i'd only be interested IF mark knows of it, and if they were tiny tiny ones.
jackaboy would be of desire too.
now, the way to make me buy the bigger ones is give them their mascots, mark with tiny box tim and jack with sam would be good.
pewds brofisting with two pugs, one in a fart could, would probably sell out like tickle me elmo.
Funko POP figures are like the hot topic of figures.
I cringe when I see people getting this.
I hate that rick and morty teased such amazing figures... and all we got were pops...
>>6061482
I can't stand Markiplier and all the little shits that watch him saying he's an amazing content creator.
He's just following Pewbs way by incessantly making loud noises and exacerbated expressions. A baby gets entertained that way as well.
>>6061482
I'd buy Red Letter Media ones
I bought the toothpaste Miku Pop because Hot Topic had it on sale for Cyber Monday. It came in the other day. One of the hair pieces was already broken off and one of the feet was warped. I can't return it either because Hot Topic doesn't reimburse shipping of course, so paying to return it would cost just as much as the figure.
I guess it's just what I deserve for buying into this cancer.
>>6061643
He's cute though.
>>6061482
No but all my normie friends do. I got one of the stuffed ones as a gift, deadpool (not even a big dp fan) but it's okay. I'm only jelous of all the licenses they get. Everything under the sun basiclly. I think Nendoroids are much better stylized figure line and I hope goodsmile grows it more stateside. But yeah they'll never be $10 cheap.
Christ, I despise Markiplier and I'm not exactly in love with pops. This thing. This is a whole new level of disgusting.
I want toys of Subnautica not that fat guy playing it for money.
>>6061482
When they make figures of each of the Super Best Friends then they may have my money.
>>6062034
I'd rather have Oney, Dingdong and Julian.
>>6061482
This is a fake Photoshop pop but you knew that
>>6061682
They should get retro figures released by the company that does all those other retro figures so they could watch b-movies with them in it and then maybe Rich could enter the movies and defeat the bad guys and kiss the girls
Don't disappoint me /toy/
The only funko pop I have was a birthday gift, I hope I don't get any more.
>>6061482
Mini rant but long ago I followed his older videos, watched so many and it was fun. Probably the highest peak was the early FNaF, Alien, Evil Within sort of times. Then nowadays he's... a bit unbearable to watch, but I'm happy for his success.
PS I hate his dyed hair. Hate hate hate.
The Horror Classics blind boxes so far have been pretty great, but that's the only Funko thing I really collect.
>>6061482
>Memeaplier
Please just end me now
>>6061706
This is one of the reasons why I rather go and buy my toys in person, even if there's a shit ton of things I can't get that way. And even after closely inspecting an item for any defects I will still find something to complain about...
I'm getting genuinely tired of these constant POP threads, it's like Greg and his hasbro threads, only it seems to be multiple retards unable to cope with the fact a simple bauble covers so many franchises.
>>6063064
it's fake
>>6061984
What I don't get is how some people can spend hundreds on these shitty, soulless, trash statues, but will freak out at the thought of paying for a genuinely good toy or statue.
Pops are definitely a quantity over quality thing, especially given how many licenses they manage to get.
>>6061482
>funko poop
>funko poop of a meme youtuber
its an oficially shit holy fuck
If you are a Hanna Barbera fan, Funko is the only place releasing merch and its in Pop! form.
So far I think the only one I've had even a little interest in is this one, and I've already got the big statue from the special edition so I don't feel the need to buy one.
>>6063186
>Doom 4, not real Doom
call me when they stop fucking around on the fake sequel and make actual Doom merch.
>>6063198
Seriously
>>6063198
They made a plush cacodemon from the original Doom.
>>6063198
I'd even take "retro" figures of Doom and Doom II at this point.
>>6063198
No, call us when you stop spering out over a pretty universally acclaimed game.
>>6063294
There's a coinbank too, even has the asshole and vagina.
>>6061482
I remember we had fuckload of "tube heroes" merchandise, toys and collectibles made of various YT e-celebs, and they shelfwarmed for about a month or two before hitting clearance haaard and I've never seen 'em since.
>>6064030
>made of various YT e-celebs
Did they end up making ones of RLM or Channel Awesome or Cinemassacre?
>>6064047
I don't know what they were, or who those are. You'd have better luck just googling it.
>>6064030
The Walmart in my town still has those. They're waaaaaay way in the back with all the shit toys from no-name manufacturers, in that spooky little corner where nobody fucking goes.
>>6062049
honestly the only good lp channel now
>>6061482
>Youtube Funko Pop
It's like they're actively looking for new lows.
>>6064058
Yeah, our Target got those things out ASA-fucking-P.
>>6063186
They made 6" figures for freaking League of Legends, but none for Doom.
These need to be displayed in a bonfire
>>6063198
>OLD DOOM GOOD, DOOM 4 BAD REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Bro fist bros
>>6064047
No, I don't recognize any of them and they didn't even do the obvious ones like PewDiePie and Markiplier. It was probably an attempt at cultivating their popularity so whatever company that was behind this could make millions after buying the rights to their souls for cheap.
Awesome Paint apps, (slight) articulation, cool minimalist design, came with great accessories, lot's of plastic for your $, even the packaging was dope.
Now we get these hot garbage funko pieces of shit.
>>6064307
Did they ever say why they stopped doing the line?
>>6064364
My guess low sales. They clogged my Walmart for years and even at $1 each they weren't moving.
>>6064364
We had great vynl figures at large retailers nationwide, and we just let them go.
Humanity didn't deserve mighty muggs at the time...not yet.
>get new job with a great company

>literally 25 Funko Pop things, running the gamut of franchises and genres
>"th-thanks..."

>they've already indicated i'll be getting more from my office secret santa

She doesn't know what you'd like but thinks it's safe choice to get. My parents got me two this holiday and are giddy about it.

If you genuinely can't find one you are fine with, you should kill yourself.

Be honest. How many do you own?
The animals are cute.
It's a shame they haven't had too many of those lately.

No. those guys are probably smart enough to protect their intellectual properties
I think they are disgusting by any metric, and I look down on people that buy them

See, I don't understand how anyone can collect crap like this expecting them to hold value after the whole beanie babies thing.
>>6064047
Most of them got "famous" by doing Minecraft livestreams.
>>6064030
They're still shelf-warming around here.
>>6064030
lol, isn't this that line where they made a figure of a rapist and had to pull it?
>>6064305
>mfw i don't know who literally any of those people are.
>>6061482
Jesus Christ do we need a new Funko Hate thread to be on the board at all fucking times?
We get it, the people here think they're shit.
They are shit, except for a couple good examples of design.
/thread
Fuck.
>>6064305
Part of me doubts even the celebs themselves bought one of their own figs.
>>6065688
They probably got free ones.
>>6063045
one costs your life savings and the other costs five bucks
>>6064307
Not enough sculpting was probably the reason of Mighty Muggs' fall.
>>6061482
>Pop figures are like the socks that grandma gets you
No they aren't. The socks are usually just random unbranded and at least you can use them.
>>6064307
>>6064464
Lack of licenses and too many different styles is what killed that first wave of vinyl toys. Back in like 2010 or so it felt like everyone had their own urban vinyl line, from Hasbro's Muggs, Kid Robot's munnys, etc. Funko's success was devouring all these licenses and making them in a homogenous and(although people will contest this) aesthetically pleasing style.
>>6065984
True that
I bought a few second hand ones on sale. So I'm fine with them, but their painting quality is as good as a bootleg and they're basically statues.
>>6065951
Most Funko Pops I've seen aren't anywhere near $5. If they were all cheap, at least that could excuse their existence, but I often see them anywhere between $12-$25. It's just not worth it.
>>6062049
not as pops, love another company to make vinyls of them, but not funko.
>>6065951
> Life savings
Yeah, probably better you stick to the pops bud
>>6067166
The usual price I see is $10 for standard pops. $12 is pretty normal for them to and up to $25 on the huge ones.
Most of the pops are just ehh. Certain ones work better then others. The ones that actually suit the eyes and have more then the blank expression work. The rest, they're just fodder for every and anything funko gets a license for.
I've been seeing them pop up at the 99 cent store. I bought a couple box troll ones since they cost a couple bucks each.
>>6065951
If your life savings < ¥10k, you shouldn't be buying any toys at all.
>>6063045
you wouldn't buy the weeb statue even if it was at retail and 50% off.
nobody would.
>>6061482
imagine a world where these where proportionate figures instead of chibi trash
The only pops that don't look like complete shit are the ones with helmets or non-conventional heads.
>>6061482
>Markiplier funko
I feel like hurting people
>>6071382
It's not real
>>6061482
There have been a handful that peaked my interest but I never liked them enough to fork over the cash for them. A lot of people I know who aren't toy collectors enjoy them as a fun way to get a cheap displayable piece of their favorite character
>>6066147
This. POPs are creepy and all but back then it was kind of obnoxious that everyone and their mothers had a vinyl toy line, and of course like every trendy urban line many were incredibly overpriced.
To be honest most POPs wouldn't be so bad if they used different colors for the eyes or reduced the size of them.
I hate the damn things ... But I did buy one ... The Queen alien...it was on sale but after I opened it I discovered... I love it and i don't care who knows ... But I would never buy another one. The other two came from loot crate and after the big green one from the disappointing aliens crate I stopped getting loot crate
>>6073567
This is the only one I bought, partly because it didn't have the normal Pop styling that I fucking hate.
>>6073567
The Loot Crate ones aren't Funkos, though, those are from Titan.
>>6061482
Why do people post the Markiplier picture when that's clearly just someone's fanart.
>>6074967
To trigger people who dont realize it and get attention
>>6064047
>Cinemassacre
>tfw no proper AVGN action figure
>>6061510

>>6061482

I know posting on /toy/ probably isn't the best spot to defend these and shit on more expensive figures, but whatever.
These are the exact kinds of things that most people will think is a justifiable showing of your fandom, since they generally cost $10-$12. You can have one or two of these at your desk and people won't think you're a total sperg, unlike having two figmas that cost you $40 each. Most people would rather spend that on a night out.
This is coming from someone who has a $100 Batgirl statue at his desk, but all I'm saying is that I understand the appeal.
>>6079633
>since they generally cost $10-$12. You can have one or two of these at your desk and people won't think you're a total sperg, unlike having two figmas that cost you $40

>>6061498

My problem isn't popularity or the amount of them you see...my problem is they got no "soul" take away the features that make them "unique" and they are bland.
They just don't sit well with me cause they look so damn uninspired...then again I didn't know what else to expect from them...
Thank god I never bought one
>>6061482
I would never pay for a pop but I was happy to get this set for Xmas
I buy the DC Comic ones and a few others and sit them next to my trades, so I can glance over to my shelfs and see where what is. I just wish the paint was better on them.
I saw some keychain sized ones and I didn't actually mind them at that size for some reason.
Still not worth buying though.
>>6079833
the heads can rotate
I wouldn't even mind them if it weren't for their cookie cutter style.
The ones where they actually put effort into making a good mold are fine. Like the Big Daddy and Alien Queen funkos are fine because they're actually pretty good likenesses morphed into little chibi statues, but 99% of their products is the same square headed, beady eye goblin cosplaying as licensed characters.
They are hit or miss, mostly miss though.
Look at this for example, Pacman looks ok, ms pacman looks meh, the ghosts looks weird with the expressions and arms, but they nailed it with the blue one.
>>6088885
Ms. Pacman looks like a whore.
>>6069705
this dude at my local comic chop paid over $300 for a Qui Gon Jinn pop

I own two. WoW ones, specifically Thrall and Sylvanas.
They were decent enough and only cost $4 a pop so don't feel cheated. Sylvanas has an actual figure out now so probly gonna pick that up alongside Arthas and maybe Illidan.
My younger brother got me this for Christmas. I personally don't like POOPs but I love the show and appreciated the gesture. I did get two of the Titanfall ones though as I love me some robots
