Cleo's original story states that she has to wear a part of her bandages at all times or die. Keeping that in mind it actually makes more sense molding the bandages instead of them being removable accessories, but I don't know how hard Mattel is rebooting the stories. It's Walmart. You don't have to glue anything back. I remember one time I had to return a drill because it just wasn't the right kind I needed, and the lady in front of me was returning a VERY used razor with a very abused box. And it got taken back. MH used to be a money printed. Now that sales have slowed, Mattel is desperate to keep the brand going, but the plot reboot and the cheaper quality dolls aren't helping. They're not spending any money on this brand anymore which is going to hurt it further. This ain't 2010-2013 when the shelves were often empty.

Even the recent classic reissue series was much cheaper quality compared to the actual original dolls or even the first reissues.

Spent the last three months snapping up cheaper dolls in both EAH and MH. Got all the Shriekwrecked pieces cause i actually felt they were the last decent messy design with production to match it. Bought the Skelita collector doll cause i am Mexican - and she's my girl. With EAH i liked the winter line, so i waited till they were on clearance to get them all. Those will be my last purchases for the year, unless i can find all the accessories and clothing packs for a decent price which probably wont happen.

The only thing i wish i could buy, but wont - is the larger Maddie doll at toysrus. It's way too expensive for what it is, and i've already bought the larger Skelita walmart exclusive piece.

I know it isnt nice to say - especially as a fan - but it's kinda nice the reboot happened. Not into the dolls as much, which saves my wallet a TON and gives me more room to move things.

The larger Skelita is exactly the same in terms of joint/range of motion and gimmicks as the other larger figures. She doesnt have a chest joint and the knee joints are of course missing - but the bone structure and build is lovely.

I had researched the comments on amazon about her, and was told she isnt different then the original dolls. The box for the collector piece is also extremely different as it is a square piece with cheaper card board. Picutre is mine in box still.

I was actually into EAH before I got into MH as well. I liked MH but EAH, I just liked the whole spin on the fairytale idea. I only really collect signature releases, all of Darlng's dolls, and whichever other ones appeal to me. But if they stop with the new characters then I might be done with collecting because I don't know what would be worse: no Ramona doll or a Ramona doll with cheap accessories and no stand.

Mattel is weird these days. MOTUC was run like shit under that bonehead Toyguru, but sold well. We saw a lot of actual improvements with the line when he was replaced, and yet sales somehow slowed to the point that Matty Collector is closing down and the brand going to a new company starting practically all over.

MH was a money printer yet is now softer just because the shelves aren't being cleared out anymore. As for the complaints, companies are still dumb enough to think that "one angry letter represents thousands of opinions" instead of throwing those letters in the garbage can.

A guy from /co/ and /a/ here. I enjoyed Welcome to Monster High, and bought a few dolls from the line. I felt the designs looked great, and the story was easy to digest. It felt like a proper story, whereas the older MH media seem impenetrable to me. The visuals and designs were more competitive with contemporary CGI movies.

I'm used to anime figures looking just like the show, so I was disappointed that the dolls still look closer to the old designs than the new. But they're good for the price.

I'm sure I'm in the very small minority, but I wanted to speak up for the reboot. I had absolutely zero interest in the old MH, and the WtMH serves its purpose as a jumping in point for new fans. I'm looking forward to the next movie.

Visually, WtMH blows all the G1 movies out of the water. It just looks that good. That being said, it's just weird knowing that the characters all got retconned and the dolls have to suffer because of it. They all had personalities in G1. In G2, they have the same length of dresses, the clothing doesn't really differ that much between characters, and the designs are just boring. Although, I'm actually glad to see that there are newcomers who got interested in MH because of the reboot. Even if it seems sucky, people did get into it.

Had wondered this - but i found out when they were being put out that they were Walmart exclusive here in the states. This was probably the beginning of the doll series showing it's failings, they werent able to get the dolls off the ground and in most stores. I had went from store to store - trying to find these and a lot of walmart had limited amounts of them. I had tried to do a wait out clearance till last christmas, and they showed up as singles in a few stores till about this last spring.

The dolls themselves are very pretty dolls and especially pretty winter dolls.

Kind of disagree, the series started failing when they entered the third iteration of packaging, when Justine, Farrah, and Melody got their signature dolls. They were doing First Chapter versions of Apple and Raven where their accessories were severely cut down. I believe Apple's current release doesn't even have the collar part of her jacket and her shoes are just red, not red with gold straps. Her ring is gone too iirc.

The reason Fairest on Ice is expensive is because while it was Walmart exclusive, they were so hard to come by. A bunch of Walmarts near me only got a few and they went fast.

It's crazy just the degree of hit or miss for a lot of the reboot MH dolls.

Some dolls look really cool, have a decent design, like they had some thought put into it, still look and feel like Monster High.

Others are just a cheap or overpriced mess, colors clash, cheap print mini dresses with odd accessory choices, lack of articulation, molded clothes & a lot of budget dolls.

To some degree I can forgive the lack of articulation to the arms and hands because people are stupid and complain about their kids toy being broken when a hand pops off.

Depends on whether or not you want molded on details. I think it works for the werewolf characters but the mark was slightly missed with Cleo and Lagoona. As far as body dimensions go, they're fairly similar and the clothes should be interchangeable.

MB made a MH advent calendar? That smacks of sacrilege. I don't know why Lala would be celebrating the holiday of our Lord & Savior. A deity that burns her kind to a crisp with His symbolism. I would at least expect her to break out in hives by just donning a Santa hat.

Also, I watched Stuart Ashen's Advent Calendar videos this past month where he opened up the MB Minons set day by day. LOTS of items from that set showed up in the MH set as well. The skis, the presents, the gingerbread man, etc. Lastly...
