Earlier releases are beautiful. Fantastic sculpts and gorgeous, world-beating paint schemes. It's worth pointing out they live up to the "statue" tag though, they're more like a statue with a ton of joints than a conventional figure, you put them in cool poses and leave them like that.

More recent releases have seen a pretty substantial dip in paint quality and accessory counts. Like looks like it's dying, sadly.
