the shf Ryu is very much based on the SF4 or that painting Akiman did after SF3 (guy who designed Ryu and original SF roster), right before he left, many years before the development of SF4.

Judging from the trailer D-Arts X will fit much better than the 4inch Sentinel one and not to mention in the gameplay, X changed his armor to his full armor in X1(I'm guessing his level 3 super will be his ultimate armor) so D-Arts X wins in my book for this. he posted it a long while back on his blog, and they reprinted the image for the anniversary art books that compiled the different Capcom artists' art. It's also used as part of the packaging for a limited ed release of 3rd Strike, with another gorgeous painting of Chun Li doing a spinning bird kick. He is basically the SF character designer since SF1-SF3 3rd Strike, after which he and 2 other influential senior CAPCOM artists left, right after Capcom sold the rights of Street Fighter to Capcom USA.

Anyways, Ikeno, the guy who did the art for SF3 3rd Strike, is his junior and understudy, and for SF4, they took that detail on the glove and it's become the new staple for Ryu (dont know for how long though)

Btw. I've talked to our local distributor of Bandai products and he said that there are talks of Tekken S.H. Figuarts being made. It's a possibility since Tekken 7 will be released next year but still nothing is absolute so take it with a grain of salt.

The effects are actually nice if you play around with it.

There's nothing wrong with claiming ownership over his own photos.

His photos had even higher resolutions, but he doesn't put those up anymore. His Gundam RD photos have the watermark in the middle, and the watermark is larger now. I think some people used to crop the watermark out when reposting in the past. Chinks also added watermark after watermark when reposting.

I would buy it dude. The roided up SF4/SF5 look isn't going away anytime soon and most companies are going to be mimicking that style and failing. This SHF doesn't look perfect but do you honestly think we will get a better SF line anytime soon? If this line fails it will just make companies even more apprehensive and the state of the world there might not even be a toy industry in another 10-20 years.

Have fun with what you can while you can. Also this Ryu is clearly more based on a classical look than a modern look. It has more in common with MvC, TvC and SvC than it does with SF4 or SF5. Even the way they sculpted Rashid makes him look more at home in those games than the game he debuted in.

Face part on these 2 look really good(default face of Ryu). Storm Collectibles(7 inches) looks nice too but the S.H. Figuarts faces looks more akin to SF2/animated look which I like. Have all player 1 color SOTA SF line plus a few variants like Dark Sakura and Mech Zangief but I didn't buy the preview versions of the 3 shoto since they're too big compared to the rest because the body mold is using Akuma's but I bought pink Dan(even if he is too big) when he was on sale at years ago on Amazon for $10 because that's the only available figure for him.

Stocks are meant to transfer energy from the weapon into the shoulder to absorb the recoil to keep the weapon accurately pointed. That's a stock's specific specially clearcut explicit objective design!

Cell does have purple joints in a lot of artwork, even though it's less lavender and more of a violet color.

The "premium colors" just seems to be more vibrant colors, since both Vegeta and Trunks' blues are very saturated and their pearly yellow hair stands out against the more flat and airbrushed yellows of the regular figures.

Dragonball gets by OK, Sailormoon is hitting minor revamp land and Crystal's probably not going to sell as great as they hope. Ranma most likely ended up hitting the same issues many of their other lines that went stillborn did. At least the Quality was top-notch on all three Ranma figs that already came out. And hey, they managed to get more figures out than their Gundam or One Piece SHF lines ever did.

Honestly them putting Akane, who like it or not (I don't) is the lead female in the series, as an exclusive really killed it for me. Ryoga most likely being shoved into Exclusive Hell will probably have the same effect, would have liked Ukyo but I think that's too much to expect at this point.

It means exactly what it says. Instead of being a wide release to every store she's limited to a Web release in Japan through Bandai's storefront P-Bandai. What this usually means is distributors like Bluefin will end up receiving the product for a mass release, unless its something like Marvel or Star Wars, but the catch is if the figure goes out of stock it won't be restocked or reprinted. Which is why so many DBZ figuarts (Like Krillin, Frieza, etc.) got so expensive on the aftermarket. They could potentially fuck with her colors and remove some accessories for a "Premium Color" edition a la Vegeta, Trunks or Cell but typically these figures start to get very expensive on the aftermarket.

The only major flaw in my opinion is they didn't paint his eyes so the suit looks powered down compared to prior releases which had painted eyes. There is also some gap issues but that has been a problem on all the releases. The elbow joint is a bit ugly when bent. Finally, the hand guards are oversized by just a tiny bit.

It's not a bad release though.

Yeah probably right. I think they also hire non toy collector staffs that poses the figures like on SDCC, NYCC since sometimes the poses of the figures on those event aren't good. But looking at the pic the 2nd time, it looks like Ryu is doing a Haoh Sho Ko Ken instead of a Hadoken.

I'd rather just have the core Ranma-Akane-Ryoga love triangle and not spend a grand getting every secondary character. But it would be nice to have Genma, especially if they threw in Happosai as an accessory.

the Mk 42 and onwards look too bulky for me, 46 especially looks too thick for my taste

the only exception would be the hulkbuster, but that is for obvious reasons

So the silver piece on the back of the mk.3 comes off, anybody with the figure know what it's for?

Huh. I just located that piece on mine. The reason I didn't recognize it is because it's painted red like the rest of the torso. No clue why it comes off, but it does pop off quite easily and even looks like it's designed to with a slight lip to the top edge of it for catching a nail on.
