Hard to say, things often look like hasbro owners are touchy because takara figures can feature more paint, and supposedly better quality control, whilst takara owners can be elitist because of the reverse.

In reality I suspect there are trolls who fire start, you can owner a majority of hasbro figures but if over praise a takara figure they leap at you (say you own a majority of TR figures but own a takara blurr and praise the differences, someone will stick a knife in your back), likewise (though less often, least while I'm present) you could praise a hasbro version and you'll get mocked for being a poor fag or worse.

In the end most of us mix and match depending on preference and budget because they're all made in the same factories, yes its true people notice hasbro defects more often, that's because there is more of them on the market unlike the japanese versions which are made for JUST their audience (which is why pre-orders burn out quickly), try your best to ignore those who are deliberately trying to stir the pot.

Like for Artfire there, I'd rather have him than Inferno since I don't have any ties to Inferno. Never had him as a kid, and he never made an impact with me in the show or comics. The toy, though, looks way more interesting than Inferno (if a bit busy with the tampos).

I chanced upon CW Drag Strip by pure luck and managed to get the other 3 members for standard MSRP too. Motormaster was slightly costly but that was because he was the fixed ratchets version that had to be imported.

We know that there are "conventional" weapons that can rape an AT field with ease, example being the Positron sniper rifle. If the Phase sixers have access to tech like that the AT field should be no issue.

Then there's the thing with Unit-01 being god and whatnot and all the various tech the Eva units have, and if the Phase sixers are capable of actually keeping up with the Eva units in close combat. Also worth wondering how the Lance of Longinus plays with Transformers, and how well prog weapons work on metal.

Then there's also how tough the ununtrium endoskeletons of the phase sixers are, and how flexible and nimble they are in comparison to the Eva units (who are capable of pulling off complex physical routines and stunts).

Basically, I can't see a fight between them ending without the entire world burning first.

Yeah, they are compatible. The whole line consists of Walker Vehicles that forms the main humanoid robot and Support Vehicles that carry alternate limbs and accessories. All limbs share the same arm/leg connections and all accessories use the same 5mm ports as TFs. Since the transformation is simple, the walker vehicles can still fold up even with the alternate limbs.

Armada had some good molds. The real selling point was the Minicons, though: great linewide implementation of a shared gimmick that didn't overly hinder the figures, and had great play value on its own. Kind of makes me think of how they're doing Titan Masters this go 'round.

As far as electronics and lacking articulation... you can't really blame that on the minicons. Electronic gimmicks have pretty much always fucked with figures badly, combining it with another gimmick is a recipe for disaster.

But yeah, compared to some of the stuff we were getting in RID before it, Armada was overall pretty bad. Energon and Cybertron were much better.

Overboard is the true head for TR Soundwave, the blue matches up perfectly and it allows for Soundwave's headmaster to pilot the tiny ipod tank while allowing the Soundwave body to also be given a proper blaster from overboard's t-rex gun.

This also leaves you with Frenzy, Lazerbeak, Buzzsaw, and Ravage to act as support for Soundwave's ipod tank.

Soundwave isn't an ipod dock, he's a weapons platform.

Ultra Countdown was on sale for 10 bucks, you could buy deluxes for 5 bucks. I thought Generations Rhinox did a decent job of not shellforming. I mean, it kind of does, but take away the animal bits in robot mode and you're not left with much, unlike Big Convoy where you can build an entire mammoth from the shell pieces and still have a complete robot.

I like him. He's a bit less solid than the other Autobot cars, but that's not really a huge knock, since all the other Autobot cars are pretty stellar. Worst thing about Tracks are his elbow/knee ratchets. They restrict his articulation a lot. His amazing ankle joints and sexy alt-mode more than make up for it, in my opinion.

I've watched a lot of reviews and the eyes are the only diff on soundwave himself (plastic quality and color are identical). There are some color differences on the minions but they're subtle and neither strike me as better than the other.

I don't even own shockwave yet, I am waiting for a re-release in better colours, but do you even own Soundwave? Transformers are supposed to look good in BOTH modes, that's the fucking point of them. Don't put Soundwave on a pedestal, because honestly his alt mode is nothing special at all. The backside of it is a complete piece of shit and while I do like him a lot, his headsculpt could've been better, with a solid painted visor instead of trans plastic, and his blue is IMO too dark. His hip joints also feel kind of weak and brittle, as if they might just snap eventually. He'd be so much better too if they gave him an ab crunch.
