This was the biggest joe toy I think I ever received. I think the tiny plane just took it over the top as my favorite. I remember having an ample amount of disgust towards any joe vehicle that didn't come with a figure. I thought it was just wrong.

My parents gave it to me at Christmas, almost immediately my parents under the pretext of avoiding losing their weapons were kept who knows where and until now I have never seen them again, eventually I get bored and leave it lying in the closet by Years, the boards fell and the material became fragile to the touch, for a time I thought of leaving it in the trash but finally I could appreciate the immense emotional value that it has for me.

You know, i had a lot of toys as a kid but it seems Christmas gifts from ym family were just videogames or sports equipment. Most memorable gift was pic related (the smell of the Power pad vinyl, goddamn) followed by a full set of hockey goalie gear.

I can smell it already. It's definitely true that smell is more strongly associated with our memory than any other sense. I remember what a ton of my favorite Christmas presents smelled like when taking them out of their box for the first time.

Also, I got that same bundle for Christmas of '89, I think. Or more accurately my brother got it, since I was only 3 at the time. Gotta be one of the best gaming bundles every released. The system, two controllers, two peripherals, and three games that make use of all of them.

Awesome. I would have loved that when I was a kid. I loved toy guns and some of my most favorite toys were some guns I had that must have been older than the toy gun laws in the late 80s.

In the early-mid 90s you could still get weapons that were realistic in shape but not color and I did take a can of black spray paint to a few of those.

Now nothing is made in a realistic shape.

They existed but weren't as big of a community. There were rule 34 (before it was called rule 34) of Tiny Toons characters, Lola Bunny, Callie Briggs, Gadget, and basically any other anthropomorphic characters that had any sex appeal to them whatsoever. My mom did the same thing with the weapons for most of my figures. More under the pretext of she was "worried I'd put them in my mouth and choke on them" because I was only like 2 or 4 years old at the time. But most of my early he-man toys went without swords and shields for the entirety of my life.

Also my Secret Wars Wolverine went without claws. I honestly didn't even know he had claws. They had never been given to me for the same reason.
