Figuarts movie Dr. Strange was just revealed.

The sandman wave is trickling into stores, and singles are sporadically available on Amazon/BBTS/Dorkside

Hey that looks pretty good, though the effect piece looks lousy.
>>
>>6049940
Yeah, warping aside, the one that came with the legends actually looked pretty slick. I think trying to use clear plastic was a mistake here.

He's perfect aside from the ankles. I think I prefer miles a little more, but yeah, probably my favorite legends of the year.
>>
No seriously, when can I get a Good Boy figure? C'mon Hasbro.
>>
>>6049992
It's kinda funny: Pizza Spidey's lack of calf swivel really reduced some posing (as it always does when you have pivot without swivel), while Young Spidey adds the calf swivel but drops the articulation elsewhere. Weird balance.
>>
>>6050240
All the Ultimate Spidey body really lost was the butterfly joints, which aren't really as much of a hindrance as you'd think since the arms are so thin they can do most everything you'd normally need the butterfly joints fore
>>
i dont know if anyones gotten their hands on the spidey UK figure yet but spoilers, ITS FUCKING SHIT.
>>
>>6050342
I've heard the shoulders aren't great, but what's your beef with it specifically? He wasn't exactly high on my list, but it'd suck if they're gonna use the hell out of that buck and it's got problems.
>>
>>6050345
biggest complaint has to be lack of interchangeable hands, besides that; lack of butterfly joints, bad ab crunch, and the super bulky body mold. i get t hat william braddock was pretty beefy, but i dont feel like he was at full beefcake status like the figure is
>>
>>6050348
>biggest complaint has to be lack of interchangeable hands
Oh, that's a good one. I'm not familiar with him in the comics, does he at least not use webs? Otherwise that's a pretty big cop-out. The ab crunch sucks, but if the spider-girl body taught me anything it's that bodies that are bad on spider-people can turn out ok for regular characters.

Hopefully the build works for other characters better than him, with any luck this means the're retiring the hyperion body.
>>
>>6049934
figuarts spidey when?
>>
>>6050372
he did have web shooters, that was another thing they either forgot about or just didn't feel like sculpting, and yeah, i can totally see it working really well for more characters down the road, maybe a luke cage or something like that
>>
>>6050307
The new mold that Spiderman 2099 uses has ALL those points of articulation, i'm pretty hype for new figures using it.
>>
>>6050000
If that is the furry figure there, he better be a villian, and a BAF.
>>
>>6050510
ironically good boy is a girl in human form
>>
Can anybody who has the Morbius and green/yellow Iron Fist figures let me know if IF's head will go on Morbius' body? Trying to make a custom Iron Fist
>>
>>6050348
he has butterfly joints though... and the body isnt that much more beefy then the bucky cap...
>>
>>6050524
> he has butterfly joints though
No he doesn't.
>>
>>6050524
uk doesnt, no, hes got those weird new shoulder joints they tried with the ultimate spiderman figures, and the beefy body is just a minor complaint, the character was captain britain before, so it makes a little bit of sense i guess
>>
>>6050526
>>6050531
oh fuck i thought him and 2099 shared the same mold so we got 3 new molds in one wave thats pretty awesome
>>
>>6050539
that 2099 spidey mold is fucking immaculate, just wish he had that thing that spider man normally had, whats it called? oh yeah, INTERCHANGEABLE HANDS.
>>
>>6050000
>>6050518

I can't find anything on this character
Anything I should try looking for beyond 'marvel comics good boy'
>>
>>6050539
>>6050542
Yeah it's good for variety in figures later on, I'm guessing the cost of having so many new molds in one wave is what prevented a lot of them from coming with accessories
>>
>>6050542
I haven't kept up with his book, but I was reading it around when the hobgoblin wave one came out and basically the claws were fine. He didn't actually use webs, he just climbed buildings and glided around.

>>6050550
Wait nevermind I've just been informed he has fists what the fuck.
>>

Pros:
Lots of molded detail on the suit, silver paint apps are super sharp.

Cons:
Price
No accessories
Shitty articulation (for a figuarts).

Seriously, I have legends with better articulation than this.
>>
>>6051025
Which legends?
>>
>>6051088
Wolverine, spider man, ultron drone, just to name a few.
The only thing Figuarts BP has going for it is the butterfly shoulders.
>>
what's the cheapest yet good line of avengers figures?

I need to buy a present for my cousin and he's quite an obssesed capeshit fan of marvel.
>>
>>6050722
it has ankle swivels. I think anon is talking about how the ankle doesnt hinge forward enough to pose him in a good crouching position.
>>
>>6050722
No, I just meant they can't really hinge up past flat, basically it makes it hard for him to properly crouch. Pizza spidey had pretty crazy range there and it helped a ton.

>>6051025
>>6051021
>Shitty articulation (for a figuarts).
This is what scared me off, it looks like the elbows and knees barely get 90 degrees. Also, how does the bicep swivel work? It looks like the setup they used with hulk and that was barely functional.
>>
>>6051161
>how does the bicep swivel work?
Yeah its exactly like hulk, and it sucks. Also, he has no real thigh swivel to speak of.
>>
>>6051025
They've been dropping the ball with their exclusives this year. They either come with barely any accessories or look like shit. Sometimes both
>>
>>6051185
>They either come with barely any accessories or look like shit. Sometimes both

Well, I think he LOOKS great, and I could live with the lack of accessories if the articulation was better. I mean, how to hell are you going to make a black panther that cant pull off a nice crawling pose?

I mean, I should be happy, it saves me from paying a hundred bucks for something I already have a perfectly fine toy of, but seriously. Ant-man having better moves than panther is just bizarre.
>>
>>6050393

Most wanted figure up until I realized a figuarts spidey would share their MU aesthetics instead of going for articulation.

Even then it will at least have toes, so it would immediately be more acceptable than any spidey since the McF.

How many figures out of an entire wave do you guys think make it worth it to buy the entire wave?

So for the upcoming Spiderman wave I want:
- BAF sandman
- Kamala (concerned about the googly eyes, so might need to pick it up in store physically)
- Black suit spidey
-Shocker

Meh:
- Spider brexit
- Spider 2099
- Green Goblin
- Jackal
>>
>>6053324
I've only bought a full case once, usually it's better/cheaper to buy the 3-4 figs I want and get the the rest of the parts loose on ebay. Only time that doesn't work is when the figure they're boxed with is so shit that no one's opening them and it's nearly retail just for a piece. I've got the exact 4 figures you listed you in the mail though, so hopefully people like jackal.

I'll admit I'm on the fence about green goblin and 2099 though. Goblin because I really like him but hate the body, and 2099 because I've heard the new body is really good but I don't like the costume.
>>
>>6053324
I only buy figures of characters that I absolutely love, they would have to make the most perfect wave of all time to get me to buy a complete one. And seeing as how Hasbro has started to move a lot closer to just doing main character-related waves, I don't see it happening.
>>
>>6052775
>superior revoltech.

Ahahahahahahaha, ahhhhh hahahahaha. Oh wow...this has to be bait.
>>
>>6053324
Man, just wait a while and check walmart/amazon websites. I got the entire abomination wave from walmart.com for 11.97 each aside from scarlet witch who was 18. I don't think I will buy legends full price anymore. The jug wave as well as space venom are cheaper than retail, too.
>>
>>6053482
>I don't think I will buy legends full price anymore

Then again I'm not an international collector, which must suck immensely.

Hasbro Marvel Legends, Diamond Marvel Select, Toybiz Venoms from every year.
>>
>>6053527
I agree.
>>
>>6053527
I have the select and it can't do anything, the articulation is terrible. Love the sculpt though, but you need both for a good figure.

Is that new legends any good?
>>
>>6053533
>the articulation is terrible
>you need both for a good figure
So the revo is out, then.
>>
>>6053537
Not out yet but looks good from the pics so far.
>>
>>6053546
Some revos do look good in pics, but then you start to work the joints and you realize that they are the new version of old shitty V-hips due to poorly thought out implementation. I'd love for somebody to say with a straight face that revo shoulders aren't complete and utter dogshit. Then you can quickly discard their opinion and move on.

He's the why.jpg of the wave. I'm usually pretty big on translucent figures but like...
>Movie Astral form: Gold shimmer
>Comic: Transparent white, blue
>Figure: Fuck that let's do basically uncolored plastic with some pink shimmer so people don't think we fucked up and put a test shot out

It's the same mold as the movie figure and doesn't suck as hard as the comic doc in the wave but...ehhh. Unless you need Dormy's head for the BAF you didn't miss out.

Srsly though, that figure coulda been a clea, ancient one, 60's iron fist, 70's blade, rintrah (I'll keep dreaming the big green bull will get some love.)
>>

So with this new Jackal mold, I see a lot of people speculating we'll be getting pic related? I fucking hope so.
I also see a lot of people saying Beast, although I feel like it's not beefy enough.

Anyway, what other characters could they recycle this mold for?
>>
>>6054877
There's Vermin I guess.
>>
>>6054970

That's probably a good bet given they don't shy away from the Spidey villains.

Also I noticed the Sandman BAF wave starting to pop up on Amazon for high ass third party prices. I give it a month or less before we see them below retail on there.
>>
>>6054982

FYI, Walgreen's are marking Spider-Man legends down for clearance at $11.99 each. This includes yellow Daredevil and Ant-Man, but not Punisher (which is classified as Avengers/Captain America). I was able to snag a Venom, but passed on the rest of that wave (no Gwen in sight).

hey Anons, need an opinion on Spider-Man 2 Movie figures

I've had these guys roughly around the time the movie came out. Though one thing that has bothered me ever since i posed them around, their ab crunch joints have always been loose. And this isn't something thatch happened overtime, its been like this since i took them out of their packaging

I'm just wondering if there's any super articulated Spideys in the movie's wave apart from these two (Web Trap on the left, Super Posable with Mountable Base) that doesn't have a loose ab crunch?

What's your point though? He is indeed a Doctor, several of them are and most had to go through the ordinary means to become so, even Strange who is a freaking wizard ia still a doctor. Hell Ock became a doctor twice, one as himself and another as Superior Spidey.

Doom is one of the few i know who didin't finished his doctorate, but having his own country i suppose he could give himself that (and any) title.

If you're talking about superior spiderman, basically yes. I know for a fact the legs are the exact same pieces for both, but spock was noticeably short so they redid the torso for pizza to be slightly taller. I think it's one reason why he looks so lanky.

>>6057333
They rarely bring their A-game for exclusives anyway, but I'd be very interested to know how much their various sub-lines make compared to each other. It's gotta influence how much effort they put in to a given release.

Definitely. One idea I had was for to capitalize on the increased interest in cosmic Marvel (cuz of GotG) and have a series of Marvel Legendss who's BAFs are Celestials. But, they'd have to be HUGE; easily 12 or 13 inches tall.

Are Legend's a good thing to collect casually? Every time I visit this general, it's usually talking about how people like to scalp all the best/new/popular characters (ones I would probably want most). So that kinda deters me from getting anything specific and just "get what's available".

Is it worth it to pre-order Hot Toys at Sideshow? Or should I gamble and wait for after the release after seeing the product result? Figure in question is the Doctor Strange 1/6. I'm trying to read around about the overall quality in recent years, and things like the prototype vs the in-hand product for their recent releases. Not looking to be blown away with expectations, being my first possible Hot Toys purchase, but hoping I won't be sorely disappointed either if I decide to drop the money.

Third party sellers. New figures are always like that. They'll go below retail within 2 months and will be easily bought.
>>
>>6059378
No, of course not. They're going to be the complete opposite of literally every full release wave in ML history and remain at high prices. It's totally not the fact that they're brand new and barely distributed to retailers yet, thus supply is significantly lower than demand.

Retard.
>>
>>6059378

I've seen at least three of them for the retail price of 21.99 in the past two days.

Is it just the Spider-Man waves at Walgreens?
Because I got the Hulkbuster wave tonight plus two.

I would argue that anyway cuz in the print it says Mr. Potatohead and Marvel toys

And if only there was a way to price match Amazon and Wal-Mart. Still get that 40% off and spend over 100 dollary doos and get a 20 buckaroo credit back to spend next week
>>
>>6059285
I have a number of hot toys and i have gotten a few from sideshow. Try to see if you can get into their program and get a discount for the first buy - i cant remember if they do that. You can do payments and of course get points towards a new purchase. As for the figure itself, look at the clothing. I believe Strange is fabric, and you can do a nice range of movement with that. Faces tend to be like the prototype - fabric/outfits can get in the way when it comes to range of motion versus accuracy. Strange looks good to me, and he has to be worth what you pay for it in your opinion. Very few HTs go down in market value from time of release, unless of course there is an update, which can happen with Marvel characters.

I've debated on getting a Dr Strange figure myself - though i cant see myself getting the HT cause i dont love the character enough. I am debating on the SH or the ML - but i probs will just get the ML due to me liking what it looked like in hand at the store.
>>
>>6059285
If you can get a discount code or some promotion, do it at sideshow.

If it has a preorder exclusive, order at sideshow.

Otherwise, you can generally wait till after release. I pick them up at my local shop when I can't do either of those.
>>
>>6059378
just save yourself the pain of the waiting game by preordering a case from an online retailer.

Seeing there's gonna be a new Marvel Vs. Capcom game (Despite X-Men and Fantastic Four-related characters probably being off-limits.) you think Hasbro might end up with the license to do Capcom figures and eventually stuff like Street Fighter toys for kiddies?

Dude. Those were 90% parts reuse. You're an idiot if you think that's comparable in any way to what they could do today.

But you're also not an idiot for thinking it won't happen, because it won't.
>>
>>6060086
No. Just because Marvel's given Hasbro the license to make action figures doesn't mean that Marvel making a game with Capcom will in any way influence Capcom to also give Hasbro the license to make toys.
>>
>>6060331
I wasn't suggesting they go the same way for a MvC toy line, just that the probably mediocre sales on their 90s foray into toys-based-on-video-games would dissuade them from trying to do it again.

So your problem isn't actually minorities at all, and just the handful of Jews that run everything and always have

I mean I don't disagree in that case but also they've been doing that for like a couple thousand years so I can't really get upset like it's news

Is the Hulkbuster Wave Dr. Strange and Dormmamu wave comic Dr. Strange really the same figure, only the latter has a cape? Is that REALLY the only difference? Can't be...

And does anyone have the pics of the Stranges' capes switched out that were posted? I'm thinking of switching them around: ML Toybiz Strange gets Hulkbuster/Dormmamu Strange's cape; Hulkbuster/Dormmamu Strange gets movie Strange's cape. That leaves me with a capeless movie Strange, though.

There are a couple other minor differences like the shade of red, which is darker on the Hulkbuster one, and the design on the chest being slightly different. Also, I found the new one to have much better painted eyes over the Hulkbuster one.

Also, didn't realize they showed the rest of the figures. I might as well post them.

Drax is such a waste of a slot. He has new colored pants (Which I'm pretty sure are the same as the 5 pack, and a new yelling head. And a bazooka I guess.

Same. I've warmed up to Sam, and it'd be nice to have another Nova corps member.

>>
Oh man.
>>
>>6062075
He's fantastic, he has the same points of articulation as pizza Spidey but is way more anatomically accurate, pizza Spidey's abnormally long torso always bugged me. He doesn't come with any accessories (asides from Cap's shield) or extra hands. He's in scale with the other MCU figures meaning he's a bit shorter. His colors are off from the movies though, he's waaay darker and i've heard people complain about the fact that the web lines on his suit are carved into the figure but i think they photograph really well and give the suit some nice texture, they aren't too deep and the black paint is applied perfectly. They sculpted the lenses for the apertures of his eyes, as well as a lot of other nice details but it lacks the technology-looking lines on his pants and the spider logo on his chest is innacurate to the film vers, as they probably had early designs as reference material to go off of. He also has this really light black wash over his entire body

I honestly can't recommend it enough if they aren't going to release an updated, more accuarate one with more accessories like people had anticipated. For $20 it's a fucking great deal

>>6056414

Hey, so I popped Silvermane's head onto Speed Demon today, and when I went to take it off I heard an awful cracking sound. Thought the neck was completely done for, but after a second, the whole peg/disc just came right out with no real damage. Though at this point, I don't know how I'll get it back in without forcing it.

Any tips?

The wings themselves are the BAF for the movie wave.

Holy shit.
>>
>>6062467
Yeah, this is pretty crazy but I'm A-OK with them doing stuff like this. That said, the actual wings look like clunky garbage.
>>
>>6062441

They will in 2017. It'd be utter madness if they didnt release a new spidey figure for the new movie.
>>
>>6062556
That's going to be quite some time and for $20 it's a good deal. Personally, i like that in some ways the CW is a prototype but i'll definitely be getting the new one too. I should have included "anytime soon" in that post

We have like 4 waves coming where we haven't heard of a new Spiderman quite yet. Look, i think the most important part of my post was my thoughts on the figure itself. People can buy it if they want i don't care, but that guy asked if anyone had one and whether it was any good and i answered.
>>
>>6062075
He's my favorite Spidey figure, his articulation is better than both Ultimate and Pizza Spidey. Although there will definitely be a new mold for Homecoming, this one is pretty cool since it's based on concept art. It's a great buy for $20.
