Fortunately he has good healspurs, so the backpack isn't as much of an issue as you would expect it to be. That said, I'm not entirely sure he's worth aftermarket prices. The previous crabformer (Basic Razorclaw) did it better, though he can't become a tank.

To the people talking about 3p's here, its ok in direct comparison to an official figure (such as ocular max and inferno) but stuff like not scourge from xtransbots, as nice as he is, doesn't really belong in this thread, its off topic, so I bring something that is on the grey side, a ko alert.

Looks like KuBianBao is giving us the next ko mp seeker, skywarp, looks like he's colored based on the takara version which is strange, their thundercracker was based on the hasbro version but had silver mixed in making him sorta oc, wonder if they'll give us oc colors next.

Keep in mind cheap seeker fans, many are aware of this but for KuBianBao's seekers they modified the backflap, gone is the "neck" ring the heads have to squeeze past but instead the "back flap" which houses the airbrake is extended showing up behind his head in robot mode, still a fine choice if the bb7/over sized mp seekers are out of reach.

As a kind reminder do AVOID ko seekers that emulate the official takara packaging ie a direct copy, as they're more loose than hooker's cunt and good chance you won't know its a ko but rather a cheap takara version in a cheap copied box.

I was thinking about that post mentioning a redone G2 Manta Ray using thee engineering of the CW Hot Spot mold, I think it can actually work.

The transformation scheme would work well enough that Manta Ray's yellow feet would still end up in the same place, and the torso mode could work as a convincing enough boat.

People would probably complain that the combiner torso, and boat transformations would only need to move a few parts, but Silverbolt was already like that.

I still like that one anon's idea of remolding Astrotrain to get a third mode (sub) out of him for Manta Ray, but your idea isn't a bad one and I think it could work. If they went full CW repaint, they could probably make four G2 guys out of limbs and make it a full combiner just to extend the line if they wanted.

For that price the combining weapons, feet and hands alone are worth it, Pyra Magna is really nice too, just beware of her knee QCI, you may need to trim small bits of plastic.

Pyra Magna looks great IMO- I actually think the mold suits her better than Hot Spot. I prefer the mold as Megaempress, but Pyra Magna is definitely the best part of the Victorion set. I'm planning on picking up Megatronia but if I can I might get PM on her own and use Shapeways bits to differentiate the two.

Considering the options ranged from tiny guys like Primal, to massive ones like Fort Max, I'm going to guess that the budget/pricepoint was set and it was going to be it's own thing until star saber won, and since it was G1 enough to have a relative scale, they decided to stretch it to make it fit with the established scale.

MP Optimus Primal came out at roughlya little under the MSRP at Star Saber, granted the yen rate has bounced all over the place. I think I got SS for $100 + shipping; that's a big deal for the size and all.

In general I wish they'd just have more intricate details on MPs. They really need to just drop the toy branding and all the baggage attached to that and go full adult collector figures with MPs.

I dunno mayne. The arms lacking any compression on the MP really hurts it aesthetically. Those gold extension pieces to raise the arm to alright visually to shorten them at the waist but you end up with giant should paudrins that are taller than the head.

Well its a factor, I don't mind missing out on a character due to the format of cw, its the fact the main guy who I like is absent, which would leave liokaiser permanently combined to avoid it.

For this set I can tell you that the yellow-paint bleed isn't that bad, even Hellbat's yellow looks yellow, if it was thinner it'll be green.

However, you can definitely feel the looseness in both the jet molds. They are loose in the elbows and entire leg assembly, which makes for loose and split-happy combiner arms. All these issues are pledgeable though. The Dezarus and tank molds are solid.

Arcee is cool but a bit wibbly. Have to commend them for doing her show model justice though.

Blurred is pretty neat, hate the head sculpt though.

Saw Wave 3 in person at a local comic shop today.
The blue guy, Triggerhappy? Looks really good, Getaway looks bland, Doublecross looks fun, and Rodimus looked surprisingly tall.

Didn't get them though because $20 didn't feel worth it.

To be fair, the headsculpt is pretty damn accurate to the IDW version, which is what it's supposed to be.
