Anyone else buy this and have a bunch of issues with it?
>>
The diamonds on the shirt are peeling up, and I just took it out of the box.

Also, it looks like one leg is longer than the other.

Thankfully I bought it from amazon so returning it is easy.

Im trying to decided if I want to get a refund, or exchange it for a new one. If anyone else has this figure, and can let me know how theirs is, that would be a big help.

Man, this really does not look up to the standard of Batman, Dredd and their classic Star Trek figures. Pretty sad, I was looking forward to this version of Cap.

Thousands of satisfied customers with zero QC issues on that Batman, but sure this one absolute outlier you found means it's a shit figure that'll explode if you touch it.

> thousands of satisfied customers can't be wrong!

lol, too bad I had a Dredd from them with a fucked up zipper that needed to be replaced. Mezco isn't special kid.

The thing about quality control is that mistakes and damage will still get through no matter how high it is. Something like 5% defect rate is usually considered the norm with electronics, even with Apple products. With toys and other like goods, it's probably the same allowance (as in, China factory better do a good job or else).

So when it's two or three people complaining on this board, it's unlikely the rest of the toys are like that. When you see an abnormal amount of complaints or it becomes a common complaint, then you know the QC is shit.

Even then, one board having nothing but complaints is likely just a coincidence. Usually you need at least a sample of 2000 people who bought the toy to come up with an accurate estimate.
But i'm good with the rough guide of using just this board as a measurement, but a lot of brands here are trolled, so not always unless pictures follow.
>>
>>6038236
This is the fate of any screen print on stretch fabric. Anyone who doesn't have this happening now will experience it later. The problem is exacerbated by the small size of the acrylic paint diamonds.
>>
>>6038256
That looks pretty good compared to OP's. I like the baggier trousers on this version.

It's acceptable.

People aren't all overacting dancers like you see in action movies.
Stiff awkward posing is realistic.
>>
>>6038689
Oh you're the anon who hates good, dynamic posing. You and your shitty figures can fuck off.
>>
If you honestly think this Cap looks good, I feel bad for you.
>>
>>6038647
Am I suppose to take these action figure posing seriously?

I just like to collect and take shitty pics from time to time. No need to bash, man.
>>
>>6038698
I'm just confused why someone would buy highly articulated action figures, very expensive ones at that, and not bother to pose them well at all for a photo that you're gonna post around a lot. It's like buying a steak, microwaving it, and telling everyone how great it was.
>>
>>6038699
I just started doing this and I'm afraid that the cloth might rip if I extend the joints any further.
>>
>>6038256
This would look better if you made Iron man flat, turned his hand to a less awkward angle and angled Cap to be stepping down to make it look like he was actually putting weight on Tony. Maybe pull in the right arm a bit tighter.

I don't mean to be a faggot, and I do think that posing should just be something you do because you enjoy it, but I hate to see people get bullied just because other people don't like their pictures. If you like this picture, as in you genuinely like it, you do you. But, even if you're the best photographer and positioner on /toy/, there is always room for improvement.

But, at the end of the day, this is all just about us enjoying our toys.

that's not exactly the problem. Too many people are just retarded, if a toy has any qc issues, the company that produced it is the devil. If they hamhands a figure, it's the company's fault too.
people don't want to accept reality and will blame anyone other than themselves.
>>
>>6038827
Eh, sometimes it seems to be just someone repeating what happened to someone else.
IT's off the cuff responses and vague when it seems that way.

It's like OP, who is showing off his problem and then someone in another thread just comes out of nowhere to say that happened to him too, but didn't mention it anywhere except in that thread to say somethingbad about the company.
Seems fake when someone is THAT anti-brand and doesn't say something sooner, especially if they want to claim it's a common problem.

The /toy/ board on Futaba has "just for fun" threads all the time, and every single one of the people that post pix take the time to make them look good. Good poses, good composition, etc. And it shows. The worst of the pix there are still 10 times better than some of the crap you people here shit out.

"Just doing it for fun so it doesn't matter" is a piss poor excuse for not taking the time to do a really decent job on something.

Superheroes also can look "awkward" in fineass comics though, because some artists just work that way.

This is a must read comic book series, btw. Both the artist and writer are top tier pedigree comic talent.
>>
>>6040114
Sculpt looks good, it's just that the paint is lousy compared to the Trek stuff. I bet somebody will redo and gloss the eyes, add deeper shading to the lips and give the hair a light wash, and it'll look way better.
>>
>>6040204
That's my point, it's almost Hasbro level bad, only difference being the dots on the skin, which look like they were flaked on sporadically by a toothbrush. Eyes have zero depth, hair is fucking yellow with no shading, and both the hair and eyebrows are misaligned. Unbelievable that they're charging 75 for these
>>
>>6040213
I agree, it's pretty poor. The figure as a whole looks nice but the paint is nowhere near Dredd for the boots, gloves, etc and the unmasked head might as well have not been included.

Is the Shadowlands Daredevil any better? At this rate I don't think I'll be buying any of their Marvel or DC stuff with the possible exception of the Punisher...
>>
>>6040216
I don't have it, but from what I've seen, the accessories and belt have hat same kinda glossiness that Cap has, and I don't think the skin on the face has any paint on it. What I'm really counting on is the comic Superman, really want a well articulated version of the character in that scale and I don't feel like we've gotten it. He isn't looking too hot though in the cloth/proportions department. I think they're taking the whole concept "cloth on 6 inch figures" a bit too far as well, some of the non-skintight suit characters don't look good at all
>>
>>6040222
The Red Son Superman looks way better than the conventional one, sadly.

The prototype wasn't great but it looked better than this. The lack of shading in the hair and the missing hair paint around his ears is ridiculous.

>>
>>6041046
i guess im just not that picky. I pose my figures, display them, then re-pose them again whenever i want. Im not super close to them all the time so im not constantly looking at details. Just got them in a cool pose and admire them from at least arm's distance

>>>6040962
I've stared at that image for at least a minute and i can't see anything bad about the stitching. Are you talking about where it meets and is stuffed into that boot with a thread coming out? Because that's just them being sloppy with shoving it into the boot.
These are prototypes, so they're all stitched by Mezco themselves.

>>6040979
Missing shading is suck, but
>>random dots on face to be more realistic just come off stupid because it's a COMIC figure
It's not based on a comic book look, instead it's based on Mezco's own design. It's like Toy Biz MLs, where they're aiming for realistic looking sculpts instead of being a direct copy of something from the comic.

It's a shame Hasbro didn't continue using god tier paint jobs like Toy Biz did.
>>
The part that makes me confused at times is that Mezo actually has the chops to make really nice comic book style sculpts and getting articulation in there. If this line had been them doing fully sculpted figures of American comic book IPs, I'd be jumping right back into US comic toys again.

The constant stretching/compression of the fabric is eventually going to detach them, no way to stop that other than shittily regluing them yourself.
>>
>>6042493
Fuck. Why did they think this was a good idea for an action figure again?

Seriously great figure, probably my favourite out of my entire collection. The only real criticisms I could level at it are 1) the diaphragm and waist ball joints are a lot stiffer than their Batman figure, they may have more range-of-motion than I'm getting out of them but I don't want to risk snapping the figure in two if I'm wrong, and 2) the same issue affecting most Marvel Legends these days, the hip joints don't have a particularly wide spread.

I guess toe joints would be nice too, but I can live without them. Everything else is stellar, the material they used for the outfit is actually very thin and pliable, but never feels fragile when posing the figure. The paint job is especially nice, it looks like a piece of old 2000AD art come to life.

They seemed really cool at first but I think I'd rather just have figures that are more posable and have less shit to worry about, especially if I'm paying a fucking million dollars for these, so hopefully the Yamaguchi line stays good and does a bunch more Marvel characters.

Sorry for the double post, it gave me a captcha error the first time so I don't know why it posted.

But yeah idk, I was one of the biggest fans of this line at first, I do really like Batman and Dredd...but Cap was just a frustrating disappointment, and a lot of the figures are starting to look like shit (Spider-Man, Deadpool)

What pisses me off the most is that probably my biggest complaint about Batman and Dredd is that the ankle rockers have literally almost no range even though the joint is there. So I was hoping with Cap they would maybe make an improvement to that joint design.

Well they did redesign the joint completely...except the new one literally has even LESS range somehow, maybe even more restricted rocking side to side and with basically no tilt front to back anymore either, and since it's a balljoint it allowed the foot to pop off and now it won't stay on at all because the plastic is weird and it like deformed in some way and the socket no longer holds the ball properly.

So yeah with them making changes for the worse instead of improvements, in addition to the prices going up, I don't think I'm going to stick with the line.

That convinces me I guess, even with decent posing these things can't look good.

>"wtf I hate Mezco now"
this meme needs to end, pronto
>>
>>6046540
shame. these are so much better in hand. no amount of pictures give em justice
>>
>>6046549
I have my suspicions it's all the same person.
>>
>>6046518
Nice job. The more I look to the pic the more issues I'll find tho. I absolutely hate the stitching between materials on Cap.
>>
>>6046518
I thought Shadowlands Daredevil would be an easy pass but the more I see of it, the more I want it. What a great-looking figure.
>>
OP here, my replace came from Amazon today and it has zero defects. It really is a great looking figure, pictures dont do it justice for sure.

That being said, im still not convinced that Mezco's QC reflects the price point they are in. Ill probably move my Punisher preorder over to amazon just to be safe.
>>
>>6046708
I'm really torn on this. I like the style overall and love how bulky he is compared to just about any other 6" Cap, but depending on the lighting the figure either looks amazing or underdone, with no in-between...
>>
>>6046550
You keep saying this, but it really means nothing.
>>
>>6046549
So people having opinions is a meme now? I love my Mezco Dredd but not everyone has to feel same.
>>
>>6046550
That kinda doesn't matter at all. People want to display things that they think LOOK good, not feel good. And some people like to take photographs, and if photos don't do the figures justice for whatever reason, why spend that kinda cash on them? Stupid argument.
>>
>>6046795
they do LOOK good in person though. So displaying them in your house or room or whatever LOOKING at them with your own eyes is how these figures are best viewed. I'm no photographer but ive seen plenty of nice shots of these figures too. Im saying even the best of photos dont capture how much better they are on a display shelf irl
>>

>>6046874

Yeah sorry, this "IT LOOKS BETTER IN HAND ALRIGHT" argument seems like some bullshit psychological placebo effect from spending the $80.

Figs don't just magically look better because you are holding them.
>>
>>6046889
okie dokie then, keep doing you buddy ;)
>>
>>6046795
Actually, how figures feel is important to me. I love soft goods on figures. At the same time, I hate the way neca figures feel.
>>
>>6044870
everytime i see this picture i have to point out that flash is running with his arms out of sync with his legs. Do Mezco photographers run like this in real life?
>>
>>6046708
Can't wait for Frank.

Should I order some Back alley diorama from ACBA just to trigger /toy/ when I post Frank?
>>
>>6047025
>spending money for something you'd never buy just to upset someone
Simplest way to trigger anyone is just posting the toy, because someone will be upset you bought something they can't afford or don't like the brand.
For extra triggering, just say you like it better than Brand X.

tl;dr: discussing toys and making comparisons that are every day conversations elsewhere is considered trolling on /toy/
>>
>>6047025
>trigger /toy/

Looking at this thread, all you'd have to do is badmouth mezco figures.
>>

pretty sure that iron man figure is just stiff as fuck/low articulation
