Shin Godzilla is a lot more well thought out and straightforward than Eva rebuilds though. I really liked this new take on Godzilla. I saw the shorter version posted here and it seemed a little quick but I really appreciated the realistic tilt to the story. Every character in a dangerous situation is actually in a dangerous situation and not protected by plot armor. I felt conflicted on if I should dislike Godzilla for being destructive or feel bad for him because he is also clearly a victim. Wish it was an hour longer, seemed like it was on fast forward, especially the first half.

I'm not gonna argue that the NECA GMK is better than the shma, but I think the paint is REALLY well-done.

It's a nice matte green that actually looks kinda grey from a distance. The scales are also really well defined. Seriously the head-sculpt is the only sub-par thing on this figure.

Also the arm-movement and handbends are pretty great.

mileage depends. I watched the original cut, so I feel like this new shortened one takes a bit away. I actually really enjoyed the pacing of the original, in how it slows down at parts where the public officials are tired and sleeping along with the Shin G in stasis... then waking up and rushing, then solving the puzzle that they think they're facing slowly... but there's nothing cut from the scenes where Godzilla himself appears so it doesn't butcher the film.

I'd still recommend watching the full cut. Hope the US blu-ray release will include the full cut instead of just one version of the other.

Ahh, I've seen this in the 2ch page. Apparently some copies have their shoulder joints put in upside down. So what you do is to pop off his head and neck and then push out the shoulder joint that doesn't go all the way down from the inside (they say you may need to push it out using a pen or a pair of bamboo chopsticks, you need a bit of force for it) and then put it back so that it can go down.

From what I remember there's no need to use any hot water or anything but maybe take care disassembling him to be sure.
