Make 1-2 pages of photos or drawings size W188mm x H263mm (In case of 350dpi, it will be W2591pixel*H3624pixel), and send it into twitter user @donimassa or his email at [email protected] to get your drawings/photos put into a comiket collab book!

Theme is "X that I think matches my shinki". X can be anything, IE "Weapon" and the photo/drawing could be of a shinki with a weapon you like, or "clothes" and could be a photo or drawing of clothes you like on your shinki. Examples are linked in the dropbox document.

Make sure you DM or email @donimassa on twitter or [email protected] to let him know you want to participate!

This is an all-ages book, so nothing too lewd.

Real tripods can be expensive, you could look into getting one of those tiny 10 cm ones or a monopod.

But yeah all you need is a camera with manual settings (go look into F-stops and exposure times, tl;dr go with long exposure times and high F-stops for good photos).

Auto white balance should be fine, and manual settings can be used to compensate for natural light.

If you need brightness/contrast adjusted just post photos here and I'm sure someone would be willing to do it for you.

I guess the fire ones combined red with orange or yellow, but the blue ones were made with just one pen. The stuff's translucent so if adjusting for thickness makes quite a bit of a difference.

I asked the guy at the booth and you can paint on top of this stuff (some of the masks on the official Twitter were painted with Gundam marker) and while most of the photos are of stuff made just with the pens you're supposed to trim off bits and sand to to get stuff to look right.

The masks on the Twitter look like shit but that's because everyone there was touching these things for the first time and a bunch of participants were literal children.

For clarity's sake, all BD's seem to each come with an exclusive model dressed-down (naked, but they likely mean innocentia levels of naked (and the release info indicates they are innocentia parts)), but only kyanime.jp and kotoshop have weapon recolors. I don't know who does or does not get clearfiles, as the amiami page is barebones, and the kotopage offers conflicting info. If the maker bonus is the clearfiles, but neither kotoshop nor kyanime gets them, does that mean the other shops do?

I really hate how decent and divisive Japanese preorder bonuses are sometimes. In this case though, the extra 1400yen nets you a weapon which isn't bad, but if you use it, you should paint it regardless, which at that point you could get the original for 500JPY less and repaint it. The only exclusive benefit might be the packaging, but sometimes those are also just put in generic boxes.

Instead of looking for "decorative birdcage" I might suggest checking places like Old Time Pottery for "birdcage lantern" or "birdcage candle" as search terms.
I don't have any pics atm but my wife had a lot of candle lanterns at our wedding (and her friend stole the idea and now we have even more) and some of them are shaped like birdcages complete with working doors.

I kinda felt like risking my amiami account to cancel for koto, but I reconsidered.

The release info pages say the BDs are 12500, and they are, but in the shop you have to pay taxes (the proxy is in Japan so it pays the included tax) so that's 13500 and then you have the proxy fee so it's 20-23 USD more from kotoshop compared to amiami for the (likely) weapon recolors. You pay an extra 80-90 over the course of the whole set, and **technically** each clear file is still worth at least 5 bucks (assuming these aren't limited color versions either).
