>Apparently they have a site you can order direct as well @ www.mctoy.com.hk

My order has apparently been delivered, but I haven't been home to check. So I will post when I get home during Thanksgiving and check the package. They use EMS shipping so it arrived two days after they shipped it.

Right now ordering seems pretty inefficient because an actual employee is handling the orders seemingly "by hand" (I had an email back and forth with the employee handling my order). But I can't complain about the personal touch of communicating with an employee.

>Dime Novel Legends

I can't wait for the backerkit to open. I'm excited that one of the stretch goal figures I really wanted (Sharpshooter) was funded.

>Hell-screamerz kickstarter
I threw a couple of bucks their way and will probably add one or two more figures. I really like these.

>Zombie Lab
I'm really looking forward to this.

>Marauder: Valkyries and co
These look fuckin good. I didn't really care for the first wave of MTF figures, but their female figures are on point. I was at a point that I was done with 1/18 when the KS was up so I didn't contribute. But I will be buying a couple when they go up on their site.

>Boss Fight Studios
I'm looking forward to the generic fantasy and sci fi stuff they plan on doing.
>>
>>6030801
Is there an entire line of these? Like waitresses, secretaries, uniform cops, paper boys, bartenders etc.?

If so I'm down for this too.

>The bank guard got a little antsy, and went behind the counter, presumably to make a phone call, as Larry finally approached a teller, and presented his pistol permit for identification. This is something Larry always did, to amuse himself more than anything else. Larry usually carried two briefcases. Depending on which one it was, he either had a .45 or an Uzi inside (he was licensed for both).

>When the teller began nervously twitching, Hama turned to tell us he'd be a few minutes longer, and saw we had taken up positions around the bank, and also saw that the bank had, suddenly, become polarized by the three black men and the Japanese man with the very long hair, pistol permit, and briefcase.

From BBTS FAQ

>
When will my preorder ship?
For the latest preorder arrival date info, simply log into your BBTS account and press the 'View Preorders' Button. Each product will have an estimated arrival time. Our Vendors supply us with these arrival times and we try to keep them as current and accurate as possible. Please remember these estimated arrival times and are subject to change. It is not recommended to purchase preorder and expect it to arrive in time for a specific event (holdays, birthdays, etc). Please note that some preorder items will arrive ahead of schedule. We will process payments and ship the products as soon as they arrive. Please note that BBTS is not responsible for any possible overdraft fees on your bank account due to the early arrival of a preorder. Please use a credit card instead of a debit card if you are worried about this situation.

Im not sure where you can buy in the UK. But theres a lot of great 1:18 stuff. Star wars obviously has made almost every character. Then theres my favorite acid rain although that's a bit pricy. Theres and aliens line in the scale by hiya toys. Bossfight studio has great stuff for greek warrios and gorgons, plus blanks if you like to custom stuff.

So I was thinking it time to buy a playset for my Cobras and Iron Grenadiers, but I don't know what. Is the Assualt on Cobra Mountain worth it? Go big and buy a Terrordrome? Or buy that Narnia Castle? I'm tempted to get the later of the three given it's a freaking castle.

The only reason I'd not buy a Terrordrome is because any modern Joe figure would probably not work right?

>>

Are these like japanese power rangers with insect suits?
Do they come with any cool accessories?
>>
>>6036148
Look up Shodo Vs. for an idea of what they're like. There have been 4 waves prior to this one (one of those is upcoming). They come with interchangeable hands and usually some extra accessories like scarves or weapons.
>>
>>6036148
Problem with them is that they don't have paired hands. They have generally 2 pairs of mirrored hands and then one or 2 specialty ones that only allow for one side. It'd be less frustrating if they had 2 grip hands, but at most you get one.

Boss Fight Studio's got customizing grab bags up. 8 bucks each. However, I don't think they give any kind of indication as to how much you actually get.

Usually bad guys look the best, but they're way too ornate.

I think they are ornate because space military uniforms are often inspired by 18th century uniforms which were over the top ornate.

I've been waiting for 20 years to see that, since there's been no dub. Subs are shit.
I probably won't even bother now though, since they've released the books and most adaptations are usually so poor compared to the books. Pretty average too, so i might not even bother reading the whole series.

>>>6038506 credibility is utterly lost
That's cute cherry picking the very few aliens we ever saw wearing their military uniforms being overly ornate down to their hair, who may or may not always be that way since we mostly only ever saw body guards for politicians and emperors, yet ignore the rest of the military uniforms other aliens wore, which were relatively simple.
>I don't give two flying fucks about proving anything to anyone
That's because you have nothing but Gundam crap... and i guess LoGH.
>>
Hey guys, not to derail a FASCINATING discussion that is now utterly unrelated to the main topic, but have you ever considered that:

A.) Sci Fi tv shows and movies were, for most of the 20th century, low budget and short on time and plain jump suits are easy to make in quantity

B.) Said shows and movies are set in the future and it's easier to have a simple design than some ornate thing that will go out of style in 5 years

C.) The design on these things are meant to evoke a specific look of toys from the designer's childhood(Starcom and GI Joe Star Brigade) and thus extraneous discussions of their plausibility in the grand scheme of filmed science fiction uniforms is kind of missing the point

D.) someone liking/not liking something can just be personal opinion and doesn't have to be backed up with reams of evidence

>D. guy makes claim sci fi mostly copies overly ornate dress uniforms from ye olden tymes and he's correct because that's his opinion
sure
And just so you know, they don't use ornate shit because do you know how unrealistic and time constraining that shit is? No man anywhere is going to take 5 hours getting into their uniform that has shit sticking out all over the place that is going to stab him when he's slumping over when doing a 4g manuever.

High budget movies mostly give females and aliens ornate shit to worry about, because they're supposed to look foreign as fuck and not do anything. The male humans get OG uniforms that makes Hugo Boss jealous and achy.
see also bayformers in how overly ornate shit plays second fiddle to important human male roles.

>The design on these things are meant to evoke a specific look of toys from the designer's childhood
Yep, and the GI Joes looked better because they didn't have shit going everywhere.

I thought the camera was off-focus, but nope, look how mushy the sculpt is compared to Billy

I also thought that the raptor could at least work as a good 1/18th raptor but it's permanently stuck in that lurching pose.

So I went through the package while I was home for Thanksgiving. Everything arrived in great shape.

The SWAT figures are great, but the Firefighter figures are even better. Next time I do an order I'm going to try and get some of their civilian sports sets to check those out.

The joints on the figures are much tighter than many of the ones I've bought at Big Lots here in the US. For the SWAT guys, most of the weapons are a stiffer plastic rather than the rubbery weapons that come with the sets here.

Overall I'm happy with them and I'll be ordering from them again in the future since it's more consistent than relying on Big Lots seasonal stock.

Also I'm looking forward to the new The Corps! stuff. I can't wait to see the four new figures their supposed to be releasing with the ball jointed hips.

>>
>>6041487
I was looking on TRU's website the otherday and all the good Joe stuff was gone, guess I missed the boat for the Zombies. I have two from the original release, but two zombies just isn't enough for a horde!

I did manage to grab two 2-packs for $10 each at TRU today. I grabbed the Duke/Tombstone and surprisingly the Viper/Grenadier packs. They had a couple of the latter sets actually, but I had to limit myself to one.

Tombstone will be the leader of my Viper Infantry with the new Viper just adding to the team. But I figured out I could use Duke as a modern Scoop, all I need is a new head, helmet and camera. MTF stuff can take care of the first two, but now I need to find a good Joe scale camera for him. I know of the TV camera from the Mass Device set, but I figure something more compact would be more appropriate.

>grab two 2-packs for $10 each at TRU today

>>

they peg they were on was marked on clearance, but they didn't actually ring up on the price. Had to show an employee the peg and they over-rode the price at the register. Peg even had a sign specifically saying Joe 2 packs for 9.98 so if it was a mistake it was certainly an elaborate one.

That's the night viper from the retaliation line.

It depends what you want. I think the club is worth it if you want all the con exclusives and FSS. Some join for the membership figure alone.

I usually cherry pick from the fas an con sets. I did join for a couple of years, and the "free" figure is sort of worth it. There's also duds like iceberg, and not everyone was excited for mindbender even though he's ok.

Nope. Though it will be released after several other Acid Rain World figures, so it will probably be a bit of a wait. It will be after the Marine Infantry and Taste of Coffee set, which are coming out this month. It will probably be after the four Omangan figures since we are seeing painted shots of them. It may be released after the four Soil Ghosts and Sofi as I think a comment on the astronaut figure said that they were further along in the design process than the astronaut.

That's the one. I snagged it from Amazon. Its currently 24.99/free shipping with prime. Its pricier than the PTE humvee from Big Lots but its a lot nicer. Very detailed and well made. Well worth the price. I snagged the M1A1 Abrams from Ross for 14.99. Another nice vehicle from the Elite Force brand.

Unlikely. If anything theyd release it in the retaliation configuration again. Tbh, do it up in orange and blue, put the 25th vest on, give the PoC loadout, would be perfect.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit about this year's GI Joe retail figures?

NONE of them are interesting. None of them. Half them are figures you can get dirt fucking cheap in other proper colors, new characters taking release spots for figures that desperately need a reissue, the troop builder packs are shit (why the fuck can't the Iron Grenadiers get a dedicated troop building pack that doesn't force you to get stuck with a figure that is an abomination of a repaint or a figure that has gotten COUNTLESS re-issues), one that should have been a Joe Club exclusive (female Cobra troopers), and the god-awful Zombie troopers that only edgy mcedgertons would want?

Hell, would it kill them to slip an internet exclusive box set of hard as fuck to find figures? Dial Tone, Zarana, Sci-Fi, Big Boa, Cover Girl, Claymore, Iceberg, Jinx to help people fill in huge holes in their collections?
>>
>>6053630
Not going to happen.

POC Alley Viper was re-released during the Retaliation line and POC Alley Viper itself was only released because people got pissy that the OG Alley Viper (and it's retail repaint counterpart, the Alley Viper Officer) were hard as fuck to find as OG Alley Viper was only available in a $40 box set and the retail Officer repaint only available with a $40 vehicle.
>>
>>6056044
Got to agree.

I don't give a damn about the new characters and I already bought like five zombie vipers already. Also, most of the main characters are folk that have already been released countless times and in far more interesting redecos.

And yes, there are a lot of far more deserving characters needing release or updating. Instead of female blueshit troopers, how about giving us a classic Dial Tone that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Or Comic Book Zaranna? Hell, give us Captain Grid-Iron, since he's one of the few unmade characters who Hasbro could release to retail post-1988 that hasn't been made by the Club!
>>
>>6056057
If you want Dial Tone, just by the Tiger Force version. IIRC the Club made him to shut the fuck up those who bitched and moaned and cried about how they made Dial Tone instead of Hasbro.
>>
Now that you mention it, a "class of 1986" duo box set is something that would make for a killer release to solve this pressing issue of Hasbro filling the holes in a lot of collections.

Box set one would be Lifeline, Dial Tone, Mainframe, Iceberg, Low Light, Cross Country, and Wetsuit

Box set two would be Zaranna, Zandar, Dr Mindbender, Monkey Wrench, Motor Viper, Serpentor (Ultimate Classic version), and Thrasher

Kek i don't even have an account there.
I understand this year being underwhelming but then your comment turned full retard with your manchild-like demands. You want Dial Tone, Zarana, Big Boa, Cover Girl, Claymore, Iceberg, Jinx but it's been fuckin' clear hasbro wouldn't make any of them, and that's why the club got them approved. Zarana and Jinx both have had sdcc releases, you either have to pony up the money or continue being a poorfag. Also topkek @ slots being wasted on 'new' characters. The line cannot survive recycling characters from your childhood, the whole brand and line need some fresh blood. The live action didn't do shit, and the poc, 30th, and ret lines haven't been enough either.

Why do you think the 50th releases have been subpar? Because Joes are on life support. I'm not preaching >end of teh line either, but I'm also not whining on some forum hasbro will never see.

If you want to make a difference, call hasbro, mail letters and shit. Get out of your hugbox on 4chan and do something.
>>

This, there are too much scalpers around where I live, armybuilders like Vipers and zombies are hard to get, this one is the first time I was able to get some figures at a decent price without paying $50 for shipping.
>>
>>6056222
> The live action didn't do shit,
But that's wrong.

The movies both energized the brand and aggrandized sales, BUUUT, the second movie's delay fucked over retailers and regardless of demand, the major stores stopped carrying the GI Joe line by the time it was actually in theaters.

His entire torso is different from the 25th and PoC Alley-Viper. The Retaliation shares the torso of the wave 1 Duke and wave 2 Flint. WHile the 25th & PoC share theirs with the 25th Wraith & 89 Snake-Eyes Remake.
>>
>>6056044

I would actually like to see female Crimson Guard troopers but it's nice to see them. Again it woudl be *nicer* to have had an Army builder squad with maybe 3 with some head-swaps / different skin tone. Shooter is okay but they could have made a Shooter / Covergirl release (Although with the Marauder Valks coming out that's fine) and although you sound right butthurt *like* the zombies but the don't have em in my neck of the woods and Zombie Lab will be scratching that itch. Maybe a Zanya/ Zarana 2 pack.

Why not Rocky?
All those sports gimmick Joes are bullshit.
Just like if the re-issued Big Boa with only the boxing glove hands.
Also THIS is the only version of the Alley Viper that is pretty much acceptable.

Most designs from the DiC Joe series (as well as almost all of the storylines where shit quality. ) I DO think they should do an new version of Scoop with more of a desert tan coverall and black vest though with a normal sized camera.
>>
>>6056222
Hasbro uses Joes as a loss leader.
They need to pump out more media to sell toys.
I still think an "adult" series woudl do it.
Seriously make something like Stickleback for Joes and maybe cut 50% of the tits.
Or make a couple of 6-12 episode cartoon arcs .
I mean how many Goddamn kids watch Walking Dead? Play CoD?
you can buy Sons-of-fucking-Anarchy mototbikes at TRU and they aren't selling to an adult market.

I also think they were dumb fucks to kill of Renegades.

Ideas for how to make a new animated Joe show successful.

Do away with the guns, focus on ninjas. The Jews that own the networks are commies and Zionists, they will not support a gun show.

Make the leaders of GI Joe white females and black males. The Jews that run the networks are currently pushing feminism and race mixing propaganda to depopulate the white race, therefore they will not support a white, male dominated show.

Make the leaders of Cobra blonde and blue-eyed men. The Jews that run the networks are trying to wipe out the blonde bloodline because they see them as their main competitor for world power, therefore they will be more likely to support a show that depicts blondes as evil. Extra points if you dress them up like Nazis.
>>
>>6057231
maybe it's just me (and my friend) but we keep having the foot fall off.
I don't know if the figure we bought is just hinky or what.
Also, people accuse the Acid Rain figures of being "Gummy" I really didn't know what they meant till I got one. Although I might say "tacky" rather than "gummy" - you know, just that slight stickiness almost like how old UFO capsule toys get although I am quite sure not for the same reasons. Foot movement and a little bet too much movement or droopiness in the arms is my only criticism of those from my 1 figure experience.

>>
>>6057265

I got a Captain America like that it's just a typical QC error. The design is not the cause.

Either the joint is too thick or the socket is too thin to grip decently. if it's loose and falls out easily, dribble some superglue inside teh socket, plug in the joint, and move it around constantly until the glue dries. If it's already stiff and falls out, sand the joint/peg a bit.
>>
>>6057265
>Although I might say "tacky" rather than "gummy"

I actually love this current crop of 50th packs.

You get one two pack of probably the best versions of both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow ever released, another two pack of two of the most popular troopers for Cobra as well as a two pack of an incredibly hard to find troop builder that was designed to buy in bulk.

The new Heavy Duty is all of fantastic, and Stiletto (one of only two actually new characters in the whole wave) is nice, though has a bit of pin-head syndrome. The Duke/Tombstone pack is also pretty nice as Duke could easily work as a modern Scoop with a new head, helmet and camera (the cancelled version even had Scoops darker hair color) and Tombstone is a great addition to Cobra's forces. They really do need more non-specialized named Cobra characters.

The 3 packs are also pretty sweet. Unlike last year where it was a mix of Joe/Cobra/Troop Builder/Named Characters, this wave has a full Cobra only Troop Builder 3 pack, which lets you buy multiple sets of the Troop Builders without an army of a single character to dump and a full Joe only named character set, with a uniform color scheme to make a right-out-the-box squad.it even gives easy access to Falcon and Outback, two figures who were only available in larger group packs of Collector Club sets (or one really poor comic pack).

You want them to release hard to find figures? That's exactly what the Zombie Vipers and Snake Eyes/Storm trooper sets are. It's why they re-released Iron Grenadier, a Troop Builder only available in Comic packs. You want them to release updated versions of classic figures? That's what Heavy Duty, SAW Viper, Outback and Falcon are. Now after re-releasing older, hard to find figures and releasing new versions of older characters, they also throw in some new characters and some wacky repaints no one really asked for which is fine by me. This wave has some well thought out multipacks and a little bit of everything for everyone...except vehicles.
>>
>>6056070
The problem with these sets is that some of these characters were Collector Club releases so Hasbro would have to create new parts themselves to actually make em. Also, people seem to not want larger box sets like this, as Wet Suit was already released in one, but many people still don't have him (hell, Thrasher and Zandar were actually both in the same 7 pack). Smaller 2 and 3 figure packs are a better way to release figures imo as it gives you a better budget option and less potential non-wanted figures in the set if you really only want one guy.

Lifeline, Low Light, Monkey Wrench, Thrasher and Zandar could all be straight re-releases, Motorviper, Mindbender, Mainframe, Wetsuit and Serpentor would need to be rebuilds from older parts with a new head here or there. The rest, Dial Tone, Cross Country, Iceberg and Zaranna, would all need new parts and heads, and would probably have to be different versions then their original designs as they were all Club Exclusives.

While Hasbro has no problem releasing characters the Club used, they don't release the same character in the same outfits. They'd probably go with some v2 or v3 outfits if they ever did come out with these guys, or most likely a new color scheme or one that matches previous 50th designs like a Wolf Squad Dial Tone or something (which would be pretty cool imo).

Still, larger multipacks are a lot riskier then multiple smaller packs. The higher price tag tends to cause the sets to linger, especially if they include a lot of repeat/re-release figures or unpopular characters.

Same. There's no "bad" figure in any of the sets and a lot of really nice ones. And each one is good custom fodder for when they go on discount, unlike the last wave. What am I going to do with a bunch of Spirit Knife bodies? But this wave has a bunch of guys dressed in black and troop builders, so I never mind getting more of any of those.

Plus, I like the continuation of Wolf Squad.

Articulation's pretty great too. Despite the lack of ankles, as you can see, at least he can strike a pose unassisted.

I actually thought he had swivel hips, but he doesn't. They're balljointed and are cut a bit similar to DC stuff, but not to such a degree that there's a HUGE gap when he splits his legs.

Overall, this guy blows your standard MU/Legends out of the water. Now sure how he compares to Shodo or Motion Revive though. I have those toys but haven't compared this guy to them.

MU tend to have a lot of points of articulation but they're not necessarily usable. It's not helped by the rubbery plastic either. Case in point, the yellow Daredevil, who admittedly, is one of the earlier molds/bucks. I don't think I have any of the Legends though, so maybe they've fixed the issues in MU.

I don't know about Thor. Wolvie's my first Hyper Motions. He seems to differ from the earlier DISK Wars guys since he's apparently taller whereas the first wave with Thor, Ironman, Cap etc are all noticeably shorter compared to MU figures. Maybe he's the exception to the rule.

All I know is, he's my best 1:18th Wolverine in terms of being a toy.

Found a vaguely 1/18th jointed tiger. Or at least I think it's close to 1/18th, I've not been near enough tigers to know.

The paintwork is superb. The jointing is basic with like 13 POA.

It's a trading figure and the line is TakaraTomy's "Arts of natural science series ARTSROID animal world". There's lions, a panda, rhino and croc too but I think only the felines are 1/18-ish.

Here's an amazon page to help you if you're interested, but do not buy from here, the price is BS.

Yup, Asia. I got it alone from a flea market stall dealing in random Japanese trading figures for cheap.

>once mentioned something like this
There's a chance that your friend may be talking about TakaraTomy's ANIA toyline which is a different thing altogether with smaller static animal models.

>>Should I use the torso and arms of Snake eyes v58, or v64, or v67

That is entirely up to you.
>>

Actually since I'm in Canada there is no better deal.

Zombie lab Kickstarter for me and I skip the rest of this line. Fuck TRU.Ca
>>
>>6056044
I actually missed out on the zombie vipers the first time around. I wanted a small squad of them. But I didn't find out about them today, so I missed out on them this time too.
>>
>>6065197
Since I have to use transit ( which is pretty much $10) and postage is anywhere from $20 to $40 I will skip the experience.

Thanks anon, you have great aesthetic taste.
>>
>>6065865
>>6065865

Go with whatever you can afford. I'd go with v58 since it's the most neutral looking (unless you want to remove v67's right arm crossbow sculpting.)

While the cartoon was bad everything else is just a very shitty opinion
> Not in scale with anything
And? thats not a bad thing.
>Weird Stylization
...really they were distinctive and stood out on shelves compared to the over blackwashed and "Realistic" figures that were there at the time
>Cheap Cloth Clothes
...compared to? what other line on store selves mind you had better or even clothes. at the time.
> Was the scale already mentioned?
You're retarded.
>Articulation is lame compared to 25th figures
....Never mind troll post.
You really can't believe that especially compared to the diaper crotched can't even sit down right 25th anniversary figures.

>>You really can't believe that especially compared to the diaper crotched can't even sit down right 25th anniversary figures.

You know they corrected that as they went on, right anon?

Sigma 6 were actually pretty cool toys that I liked a lot and understand 100% why they failed. They were like the ultimate expression that Hasbro didn't understand the Joe brand.

Hasbro can make great toys but they have zero idea what to do with the Joe IP, and zero idea how to market it.

Their big thing with Sigma 6 was flashing lights on the packaging to attract kids. Seriously.
>>
>>6063598

I honestly grew up with the 12 inch figures as well as the 8 inch Action Jackson and Big Jim.
I got into collecting and taking pics of joes about 5 years ago.
I think the sigma 6 figures look weird.
it's just a personal thing with no concrete reasons but the ascetic seems off.
like I said. I think they look weird.
>>
>>6066792
>I think the sigma 6 figures look weird.
They did look weird, they had a different design team come in because they didn't think the regular aesthetic was working so they tried a Hail Mary and it failed.

lolwut
>stood out on shelves compared to the over blackwashed and "Realistic" figures
Being giant figures is what made them stand out. Having Mattel quality paint jobs just looks like shit.
>what other line on store selves mind you had better or even clothes
Nice modifier. Might as well tell me what other instant ramen at the 99¢ store is better.
>You're retarded.
Nice fall back argument when you can't even wiggle in a weak argument for your position.
>compared to the diaper crotched can't even sit down right 25th anniversary figures
As that other guy mentioned, they improved greatly. Nevermind the fact that didn't even affect all the figures.

>>>6066761 They were like the ultimate expression that Hasbro didn't understand the Joe brand.
It was a hail mary. A blind throw to the weeaboo crowd and it failed.
All their other cartoons shows that they do know it. The cornier 80s throwback 00s efforts, Resolute for a more adult crowd, and then Renegades.

What would the internet be without someone from a democratic socialist country complaining about shipping costs or import taxes.

V62 is a better color match, just needs lower legs and a headswap, plus helmet and vest.

They say everything has shipped.
So now they need to wait till things don't get delivered.
- like my asshole postman who delivers to my buzz number (different from my apartment number) or worse.

Then Christmas.

so I would guess late January / early Feb
>>
Saw some pics of the new IDW.
They are gettin to the merged bullshit.
I can guess about the story if it's anything like the art.
And calling that shit would make shit look bad.
Still interested in collecting.
Still interested in a LOT of back issues.
But this: Nope.jpg.

They better makes something decent with a long term presence.
