These figures are designed by Izumo Jyuki, the concept artist behind Steel Battalion's look. The concept is futuristic domestic use robots.
>>
>>6027851
Here are some designs for possible future figures.
>>
>>6027854
These are being made by 1000toys(who produced the 1/6 and upcoming 1/12 Synthetic Human figures) and Sentinel.
>>
>>6027858
The figures are designed to have interchangeable limbs and accessories.
>>
>>6027862
>>
Frankly I fucking love this aesthetic and wish I could afford some of the higher reward levels. This line has the potential to be awesome.

Yeah they're up there, but they're not out of line with the size and cost relative to other figures from Japan. A six inch figuarts or figms is $40-50 and much smaller than this.
>>
>>6027869
I just dont see what you see in this design? it does look somewhat like a realistic robot but it just doesnt have any kind of charm or excitement to it and I guess thats sort of the point since its supposed to be a everyday domestic robot.
>>

Different strokes for different folks.

Eh.

the price is pretty cheap, but what does it do?
Doesn't seem to be anything but a stupid robot for little kids.

If it had lift arms or a gun, or SOMETHING to show what its role is, i'd gib money.
>>
>>6027937
This is the kind of thing most people will shrug their shoulders at then when the line is six deep and japanese collectors are posting their crazy part combinations on 2ch the people who skipped it will be fucking pissed about ebay prices and demand a reissue.

I've been really excited ever since I first saw pic related in some wonfest thread. Personally I am really sick to death of humanoid mecha, it's gotten so endlessly derivative IMO. I like stuff like Frame Arms but am shit at making plamo look good.

Seeing this stuff is like a breathe of fresh air. It reminds me of seeing Shirow's mecha designs for the first time and being blown away. Most people are into mecha stuff for nostalgia reasons I feel but I much prefer stuff like this IZMOJUKI line because it's branching out into a more realistic, less "manlets in mech armor being emo" direction.

I thought unfounded kickstarters threads were forbidden? Otherwise, every other dumb idea posted on kickstarter or gofundme would get a thread here, trying to shill their shit in the hopes to get some money.

We should ask the janitors about it
>>
Why doesn't Kickstarter support payment via PayPal? I have none of the credit cards listed but really wanted to back this.
>>
>>6028560
It's not against the board rules.
>>
>>6028560
I'm the OP and I am not affiliated with the kickstarter other than being a backer. Which should be obvious since I'm not Japanese.

I started this thread because people seemed to like the designs when they premiered at wonfes, and previous threads about the line had people expressing interest in it.

So far it seems like those people have not picked up on this thread for whatever reason, and the reaction from those who have has been largely negative. That's fine, I don't expect everyone to like this, it's pretty niche, which is why it's a kickstarter and not just showing up on amiami.

I just thought it would be nice to have a thread to let people know about this stuff because I'm a fan and I figured others might like to know it's now available to order through the kickstarter. I don't think that makes me a shill or is cause to report the thread.

tl;dr what's it to anyone if this thread exists? Go troll the pop vinyl thread if you're bored.
>>
>>6028560

But it isn't a dumb idea and the design is fucking great. So off you must fuck.

hey OP thanks for sharing
i was also excited when these were announced back at wonfes(also a new takeya line)
like the concept and design but not sure if im gonna get it because its a bit pricey.
hope the kickstarter gets funded though.
>>
>>6028560
We should. That Dime Novel Legends one was spammed from start to finish. I swear there was a rule you couldn't discuss a KS at least until after it had achieved funding
>>
>>6028031
>>6028064

I am legit mad that they aren't offering the blue one for a discounted price. It's easily my favorite one.
>>
>>6030398
>I swear there was a rule you couldn't discuss a KS at least until after it had achieved funding
Been coming here for 8 years and that's never been a rule. The only rules are "no hot glue figure pics" and "no japanese figurines/statues."

Wish there was a global rule for "no control freak wannabe mods"
>>
>>6030530
>people not wanting multiple kickstarter threads spammed all over toy is being a "control freak"
>everything else gets a "general", but multiple kickstarter threads is totally cool as it knocks off other threads while people shill
>>
>>6030560
How many kickstarter threads are on the board right now? I just checked and including this one there's three. And nothing's scrolling off the board that isn't basically dead. Stop trying to start shit.
>>
>>6030511
Yeah the blue one is nice, I kind of figure once the thing is funded they'll use the mold for repaints like the Mechatro WeGO.
>>
>>6030581
The write-up for the kickstarter seems pretty clear they're planning on making these regardless of if it funds or not, this is just getting the word out and offering a limited discounted first run. I bet the blue one ends up as some convention exclusive a year or more from now when they have production up and running.
>>
>>6030566

Fucking this. Not to mention that without the 'Kickstarter spam', I'd never have learned about cool shit like the 4H Ravens, Mythic Legion, and now this.

I love Izmojuki and actually ordered one but lol chill there. You sound so edgy for someone who says he/she hates "manlets in mech armor being emo".

>>
I got to see these things yesterday at DCon.
They looked really cool in person but it was out of my budget
>>
These remind me of Tachikomas.
>>
>>6031835
Especially the blue one.
>>
>>6031376
Just a little snark.
>>
I think the demand for these is lower than they anticipated/hoped. After the initial interest on day 1, they've barely picked up a couple of backers each day. It does not look promising.
>>
>>6033088
Yeah, they made the mistake of splitting it up with a camp-fire.jp(japanese kickstarter-like site) campaign at the same time. That one's at $29k. I don't know if they actually needed $100k and just did two $50k fundraiser campaigns, or thought they could raise money from both Japanese fans and US fans, but they were definitely overly optimistic of the popularity for these in the US.

Also they don't really have good incentives to go beyond an initial pledge. If they had like add-on kits with alternate limbs or weapons or something they could probably bump it up a fair bit.

They could also do a bit more promotion, Steel Battalion has a loyal fanbase and I doubt much of a fraction of 1% has even heard about these figures.
>>
>>6033578
>they made the mistake of splitting it up with a camp-fire.jp(japanese kickstarter-like site) campaign at the same time. That one's at $29k
Huh. That's a pretty dumb move.
>>
>>6033754
>Huh. That's a pretty dumb move.
Yeah, best I can figure is they didn't think the Japanese fanbase would go through Kickstarter.

Frankly they should've done one fundraiser campaign and diverted both fanbases to it, then line up some exclusives to pad things out. I could see Amazon.co.jp going for a branded one of these.
>>
>>6033763
Or, you know, just done normal preorders through their site with maybe a special limited low price window for the first 400.
>>
>>6033842
That'd work too.
>>

>>
>>6040052
Damn, I didn't think it was that large. Kind of less interested now.
>>
>>6042098
Well, the way it's trending it probably won't get funded anyway. They need to shake things up or get some more press.

I really wanted one for my 1/12 synthetic human to ride around on so I don't mind the size.
>>
>>6042128
Yeah I've got one of those preordered too, they could party together. I'll just have to make room for it.
>>

>>
>>6042550
That's kind of why I'm looking forward to the Kickstarter editions, assuming it meets the goal. $96 for something like that is a pretty good deal since their MSRP is $160
>>
So, ded kickstarter or what? It looks a little bleak.
>>
>>6049503
Probably, only hope is maybe people start kicking in towards the end as they realize they have the money for it, but I'm not too hopeful.

They didn't really do a great job on the campaign. There's no spur to get people who already contributed to contribute more.
>>
Interesting Kickstarter update, showcasing future variations of the 20WT if it gets funded(big if, frankly):

"1/12 Probe 23GN

The Framer G1ST uses the Head Module "Cetas," which is also used by the next-gen Intermediate Class Heavy Machinery "Busker." This is a multi-functional type which excels in a wide range of tasks within urban populated environments. "
>>
>>6054752
"1/12 Wrecker 81WT

Primarily used for demolition work and disposing of industrial waste. Not only does it have high environmental resilience, but it can also be operated remotely. The arms are designed to support various tools, making it possible to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously.

As shown above, the core frame used for the 1/12 Probe 20WT will be also used with the upcoming 1/12 IZMOJUKI toy series."
>>
>>6054753
Forgot pic
>>
>>6054755
"As shown here, the numerous parts which form the Heavy Machinery previously introduced are all compatible with the 1/12 Probe 20WT, making it possible to combine and build your own original variation.

After we are successful with the 1/12 Probe 20WT campaign, we are also planning to offer the following series lineups through crowdfunding. For example, if we start a new campaign for the "1/12 Framer G1ST" and a backer who previously pledged for the 1/12 Probe 20WT only wants the "Limb Module" from the G1ST for interchanging with the 20WT, we are willing to prepare reward tiers which offers only the Limb Module parts. "
>>
>>6054752
Got the text for this one and pic related backwards. Here's the text for above:

"More compact and with higher maneuverability compared to the 20WT, this type is suitable for activity inside buildings or narrow hallways. As a Probe series, it not only excels in inspection and monitoring functions, but the Probe 23GN is also equipped with a single arm which can perform additional tasks. "
>>
>>6054758
BTW, much as I want this Kickstarter to succeed, this is doing things ass-backwards. If they had these limbs as add-ons to THIS kickstarter they might actually make their funding goal. Having a cheaper tier for future kickstarters just makes those campaigns less likely to succeed.
>>
>>6054767
Yep, i would have given their money day one if they offered something that makes the robot look like it did something.
>>
>>6055700
Incidentally, the camp-fire campaign for this in Japan is 4/5 of the way there. It'll be interesting if that funds and this doesn't.

Some of those vinyl art toy stores should buy a bunch of these, they're customers are pretty much the target audience in the US.
>>
>>6056096
Looks like that one stalled where it was, just like the Kickstarter has at 2/3.
>>
I was an early backer and would love to add just like a black one or a blue one to my pledge. I don't even think they are doing a Backerkit and they took the time to make all these extra tiers with the chrome versions that no one seems to want.
>>
>>6062053
Yeah I'd definitely add the black one to my pledge if I could.
>>
>>6061896
I hope this'll teach them not to do kickstarters for boringass figures and only promising to make something good later.

>>
>>6062053
What exactly does a Backerkit do?
>>
>>6065213
It's basically an order form for adding stuff to the pledges after the kickstarter is over.
>>
>>6065423
So the main campaign has to succeed in order to even use Backerkit, or that doesn't matter?
>>
>>6066145
Well, usually it has to succeed but it's not through Kickstarter so it technically doesn't need to. But then it'd be just like a regular order form.

So... a stretch goal added with 4 days to go that applies to all tiers if they manage to just make the initial goal, and doesn't require any additional payment? Yeah that's going to pull in the necessary 16k.
>>
An artbook. That will surely get people to chip in that last 20k and it's not like artbooks have never been the bane of every Kickstarter (Mythic Legions artbook when lol).

At this point even if it makes it I want to remove my early pledge because they are too retarded to have my money.

Judging by the tracker, either a really huge fanboy entered at the last minute or there's a nice game of rigging going on.
>>
>>6075701
Yeah probably the latter. Kicked in 10k of their own money to get it across the finish line. They didn't do a great job on the kickstarter and hopefully they learn their lesson if they try it again.

I don't have a problem with it personally, I just want the figure.

The way they ran the KS in general leaves me with a bad impression. I might pull out instead of giving them my $100 for god knows how long.

I really just want the blue one anyways.
>>
>>6075756
If it makes you feel better, they'll release the toy with or without the KS and them stuffing money into the KS just means they want to keep you as customers to buy their overpriced accessories to complete the figure.

So you're safe, unless it's a moral thing.
>>
>>6075756
>The way they ran the KS in general leaves me with a bad impression. I might pull out instead of giving them my $100 for god knows how long.

Well, they're a professional company that has made products before. They've made a bunch of awesome 1/6 figures with only minor delays, and have worked with Konami to make the MGS Phantom Pain 1:1 robotic arm that turned out really well. They're also affiliated with Sentinel who have no trouble turning out quality toys.

I think they just underestimated the widespread appeal of this line and thought the kickstarter would get them a lot of hype. Which it sort of did, they were featured on Tested which is pretty big in some circles.

I was never worried about getting the figure even if the kickstarter failed, I just think they didn't fully understand how to do a successful one.
>>
>>6076492

>They're also affiliated with Sentinel who have no trouble turning out quality toys.

Also affiliated doesn't mean shit.

>>with only minor delays

Everyone bitches constantly about not receiving shit from them. They seem to be like ThreeA now.

>They seem to be like ThreeA now.
That's exactly the impression I get from them. Their Instagram pics are filled with people pissed off about not getting their toys by the original delivery date and not getting any response via email, and very occasionally will they reply to the complaints while just saying the delays have been posted on Facebook. Plus you can order their stuff direct from their website for a flat rate and pay up front rather than use some retailer with a markup even though that option still exists.

Whatever though. I don't care if it funds or not. Would be nice to get the basic one for cheap, but I won't be upset if it falls through and I just end up waiting for a nice enough version to justify the higher price.
>>
Someone dropped their pledge for the $96 early bird option, if someone wants to get this for (relatively) cheap.

$2,563 left to go before the kickstarter funds.

$3,965 before the camp-fire campaign funds.
>>
>>6077650

I will probably do the same, so keep an eye out for (two?) chances.
>>
>>6077650

So what happens if the Campfire doesn't make it but the Kickstarter does? No toys for glorious Nippon or what.
>>
>>6077695
They're both pretty close, I think they will both make it. It'd be silly for them to let it fail so close to the goal.
>>
>>6077698

I guess they are just going to wait until the last few minutes and put in a sweeping $3000 pledge to try and cover it all for sure. I kind of hope that it fails and they retry with the blue one and a separate black option.

This guy has always been one of my favorite mecha artists but something about this campaign rubbed me the wrong way. I hope there are better colors next time now that they realized only like five people wanted the silver and gold ones.

>As most of you already know by now, we were just a grasp away from successfully funding the campaign, but was a bit short in reaching the goal.

>But regardless of the outcome, we would like to thank each and every backer who supported the IZMOJUKI project and pledged for this campaign!

>As we have already announced, the molds for the Probe 20WT is already completed and ready for production. We will update everyone on how we will be going forward with this project, very soon.

>Thank you!

I don't think I can pay $160 for these. But maybe they will release that cool ass blue one instead of shitty silver and golds.
>>
there's no blue one in the KS
>>
Glad it failed. This is some boring ass design and the Kickstarter was of the worst I've seen. Other swaps should have been tiers you could purchase. Color choice was terrible. I'm still waiting on my synthetic human from those fags it has been delayed forever
>>
>>6082656
>there's no blue one in the KS

exactly

I like his stuff but producing this for the 12 inch market seemed like a mistake. If these were scaled to be displayed along with series that are on the 6 inch sizes or even figma/revoltech sizes, it'd have been easier to move.

Even if the price tag was still hitting somewhere around $50 or 60 it'd still have been an easier "oh man thats overpriced but i kinda dig it" sell.
>>
>>6081552
It would be nice if they offered the backers a chance to preorder these at the prices from Kickstarter, but that wont happen.
>>
So it was an oversized overpriced brick.

This is aimed at the 6" figure scale. 1/12 scale is 6 inch figures. 12 inch figures are 1/6 scale.

I wish they were half size anyways so it would be easier to buy a ton. Also the fact that a lot of images showed them with clear cubes holding up the main body didn't inspire confidence. Granted those prototypes have probably been manhandled at conventions but they look like they will droop pretty easily.

$400 bucks away from getting the Japanese camp-fire.jp campaign funded, two days left.

They should do another Kickstarter for a lower amount.
>>
>tfw if you'd been aware of the KS in time you could have gotten it funded
Feels so bad. I hope I will have another chance to aquire one of these.
>>
>>6085733
You will, just for slightly higher cost but likely more options too.
>>
>>6028017
Did you faggots mean this blue one? Because it looks like shit.
>>
>>6086612

IDA Security version. If it wasn't just a sample of the custom wrap option, it will probably be some limited event exclusive.
