Looks great IMO but I don't see how they don't get slammed by disney. Then again all those other Chinese companies are doing X-Men movie figures unlicensed...

Incidentally I finally got one of their Coreplay Fitness bodies, the pale one, and it's okay but it feels a little cheap and hollow. Pops apart at the chest joint a lot. Also the hip joints are tougher to hide under clothes than you'd want.

>>
>>6028466
Disney owns Marvel, which owns X-Men. Fox licensed X-Men (and Fantastic Four) for movies.

This Dark Phoenix is comic-based, so it'd be Marvel/Disney who would sue.
>>
>>6027665

I'll bet he takes off his helmet and drinks tea out of it in a pretentious way.
>>
>>6028426
As long as they don't name it "Dark Phoenix" or that it's related to Marvel in any way, they should be fine. Though, this might be officially licensed seeing as how they're making as WoW(?) figure.
>>
>>6028512
I'm more looking at the logo... that phoenix symbol is probably trademarked.

Nothing will likely happen, although I notice BBTS isn't stocking this one.

It seems weird to do something kind of shady like this when they've mostly done original stuff so far. It's going to limit how far they can grow with US stores.
>>
>>6028512
>Though, this might be officially licensed seeing as how they're making as WoW(?) figure.
Forgot this part in my earlier post - I don't think that's licensed either. There's no boilerplate copyright and trademark info on the official solicitations. And BBTS isn't carrying that one too.

The website is barely more than an afterthought and their internet/social media guy is a moron so their website is the last place you want to check for news. Follow Ash or Siu on instagram. hell fucking Ninja from Die Antwoord is doing a better job of posting 3A news and drop dates than they are at the moment after posting that some more DA figures will drop on the 25th and posting random prototype kitbash shit.
>>
>>6027665
Should have only used the blue-on-white pattern like on the helmet and shins and put it on the whole figure. Right now it looks cool, but a little too dizzying.

Totally. AND we get Krang and Casey. But will the cast get rounded out with titty monster April? I'm liking the designs of these figures. Mildly inspired by the cartoon, but generic enough to be identifiable as TMNT. As opposed to the ThreeZero ones (movie) or the Mondo ones (first issue ... whopdeefuckingdoo) or the other Threezero ones based on designs by Kevin Eastman, which are just fugly.
>>
>>6028203
The figure is lacking. I have the first fitness body, and the absence of an ability to turn at the torso REALLY kills poseability.

I recently got RAH Link and wanted to start a collection of 1/12 video game characters I know. Problem is all the video game characters currently made are from franchises I don't follow. I have only owned Nintendo systems. Can anyone point me to the direction of some 1/12 character that have appeared on a Nintendo system? Thanks
>>
>>6035430
Well, first, don't search for 1/12 scale, that's a six inch figure. 1/6 scale is 12 inch.

That looks backwards but the way to think of it is, average male height(in the US) is around 6 feet or 72 inches. So 1/6 of 72 is 12. 1/12 of 72 is 6.

Second, RAH is likely your best and only bet for 1/6 figures of Nintendo games. But googling briefly I only see Link. Doesn't seem to be a popular scale for Nintendo for some reason.

Yup sorry typed that at 3 in the morning while I stayed up trying to catch the thief stealing my gravy. I meant 1/6. The character doesn't have to be a Nintendo character. Any video game character as long as it's playable on a Nintendo console. I'll ask the Nintendo general as well

Is this representative of other Hot Toys merchandise or 1/6 toys in general?
>>
>>6040044
It's hard to do heavily armored characters in this scale. Because the thickness of the armor has to be relatively larger to the figure than in real life due to material issues, it's going to interfere with mobility.

Otherwise, depending on the body, 1/6 tends to have the best articulation of any scale it's size and below.
>>
>>6040046

What's an example of a good, poseable, 1/6th product?

1/6 Synthetic Human is pretty popular, hard to buy at the moment though.

Pretty much any 1/6 body is just as or almost as poseable, but adding clothes takes away some of the freedom on movement.

Anyone have the 1/6 Big Chief Studios Sherlock? I'm looking around for a figure of him, and that seems to be looking the best from the reviews, I've seen (sculpt-wise anyway). How is the quality?

There's a third party unlicensed Victorian-era Sherlock coming out that looks better, though it's not out so who knows how good the production quality will be.

This thread is pretty much dead, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

I want to get at least one Hot Toys figure in my lifetime, and I've thinking about getting pick-related. But should I wait for another, better iteration or even a character that I'll like even more?
>>
>>6046039
Depends on how much you love the character. If you just want a Hot Toy but not nuts about her, get something else. If you really love her, there's never going to be a better figure of her than that.
>>
>>6046221
>If you really love her, there's never going to be a better figure of her than that.
That seems presumptuous; she's being used as a flagship character in a franchise that gets a new movie every year, has characters reappear every two years or so(often even less); and Hot toys are constantly improving.
>>
>>6046221
I love her, but I'm a bit concerned that there's be an even better version a couples years later like what >>6046226 said and I did with bad grammar.

I guess it's just a case if I want it bad enough, then I should get it now.
>>
>>6046237
You can get her but there will likely be a new headsculpt for Infinity War. Not that it's bad but kinda eh.
>>
It's cool that sideshow is doing horror figures again. I hope they re-do all the Jason's, the older ones just don't look good.

I bought the first Hot Toys Black Widow expecting them not to make another and they did for basically every appearance thereafter.

Based on that, and the fact that the chinese third party companies are WIDELY ripping off the sculpt(pic related) and pumping out tons of variations I expect this character is very popular in China and thus Hot Toys will make more.

Also, you could easily just buy one of those third party heads(which vary from okay to perfect) and a costume set(which has also been popular with third party companies) and make your own with a non-Hot Toys body. That's what I would do. Hot Toys hasn't done a solid upgrade of their female body in quite a while and superior VeryCool bodies are like $28.
>>
>>6046730
Does the head fit on phicen Bodies? Might take that route instead.

Yeah it does fit Phicen bodies, but using Phicen bodies with clothes on them is a pain in the ass. They get stained by cheap materials and are hard to put on.

If you just wanted naked Elizabeth Olsen though, that's the way to go.

Pic related is the upcoming(next month or so) Very Cool body which will cost ~$30.

Just get her. My goal is to have one of each Avenger and I bought the AoU version because I love the high socks and skirt. You won't regret it. But we warned, these things are fucking addicting and you just might stop collecting lower end stuff completely. That's what happened to me at least.

I currently have
>AoU Vision
>AoU Scarlet Witch
>AoU Hawkeye
>TWS Black Widow
>TFA Captain America
>Mark 33 (currently trying to sell because it doesn't fit into my collection)
>Tony Stark "The Mechanic" from Iron Man 3
>1/4 Scale Mark 43
I justify Stark because he's a separate character from his Iron Man. I think the Mark 6 is the definitive suit desu, so I'll probably pick the diecast that's coming out next year.
>>

>are hard to put on.
In case it's unclear I meant it's hard to put clothes on a Phicen body. Not heads.
