I've had a Figuarts Lucario for a while, but he's a little wonky. His dreadlocks barely stay in and his alternate eyes where he's looking off to one side doesn't even fit right. As I saw another anon put it, it's gamefreak throwing a bunch of different stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. They very clearly are trying to break away from the traditional game that has grown a bit stale, but while some stuff works well, some of it was a bad idea.

It is more character and story heavy, the idea to have captain and Kahuna challenges that culminate in a battle was good, and I like a lot of the new mon.

But at the same time the beginning of the game is a total chore. The intro/tutorial part of the game take over an hour to get through basically and consists mainly of running a few steps, cut scene, run a bit more, cut scene, etc. It also feels a bit too easy, nearly everyone is giving you handouts or healing your team ever two fights and it feels like the routes are much shorter with only like 2-3 trainers on them.

So far its not my favorite pokemon game, but I wouldn't call it the worst either. It just feels different.

It's great, probably one of the most polished pokemon games to date. As someone who has played since red and was pretty fed up with pokemon games once B/W came around, its a refreshing switch up to the format.

Though It kind of pushes the regular 3DS to its limits, it runs perfectly on the New 3DS but in doubles and totem pokemon battles it stutters quite a bit.

It depends on what you mean by any good.
It's a toy that lights up and makes noises, so unless you're into that kind of "Power Ranger morpher" toy, no. It looks like it does in the game, but it definitely has that plastic look and feel too. It also doesn't actually connect to the 3DS, rather it uses sound cues, so if you play with headphones or the volume off, it's no good.
I also think the 3 packs of extra z-crystals are overpriced.

On a plush-related note, my four-year-old daughter has been questing to find a Litten plush as a Christmas gift for my wife over the past couple of weeks since she saw one in a GameStop catalog. Today, we were successful while doing a grocery run and she bundled it up in one of the small fleece blankets we keep in the car (Alaskan winters suck) to keep it warm. As I was unloading groceries, I overheard her scolding my wife for trying to pick up the bundle from the dining room table and telling her she'd have to wait until Christmas to see her surprise. My little girl is very proud of herself today.

What options are there for pokemon figures? I've seen Tomy and Bandai D-Arts stuff, but is there any others that are decent? I want to pick up more pokemon figures after beating ORAS but I don't know what the best options are.

Tomy is making some pretty good figures. The Hero size are the figures like Machamp, Greninja, Mewtwo, as well as Ash, Mega Lucario, and Mega Blaziken (easily the worst of the bunch). They're a good bunch of figures that scale fairly well with each other as well as the Figuarts/D-Arts Pokemon. Their smaller figures in the scale line are also quite nice, though lack the articulation of the Hero sized ones but still have cuts here and there for movement. The larger, gimmick figures are also to scale but obviously favour their gimmick rather than articulation.

I just realized you didn't necessarily just mean Tomy of Japan, so ya, both them and the rest of Tomy make pretty decent Pokemon stuff. Other than those and what you mentioned there are just little keychains or gashapon type things.

It's a decent selection, though Snorlax's height is listed as 6'11, so not really great to be in scale with the rest. Kind of like the action pose Eeveelutions too.
