Tbh I'm not super up on the Playmates line. The most notable figure to come out recently is Human Karai. There seems to be a lull in the output now that the movie hype has died down but that will most likely change once Season 5 of the Nick series gets going. I can't wait for the new Usagi figure (figures?).

Nothing is officially confirmed, but the evidence suggests we may be getting a whole line of Usagi Yojimbo themed figures.

Confirmation will most likely come when Nick starts talking in more detail about Season 5.

Anyone own both the NECA arcade turtles and an old party wagon? I'm curious if they fit inside.

I know the older figures are smaller, but the NECA ones can sit well so I'm hoping it can be done.

I've gotta say I absolutely love these S.H. Figuarts turtles. The weighted die-cast bits really make a world of difference. They have a heft to them that just feels nice and it makes them so much easier to pose.

Yeah, those are the best iterations of the Toon Turtles by far. I was just pointing out that it's a little off to ask for a "cartoon accurate" head when for most of the cartoon the designs were all over the place.

Did Playmates release an updated TMNT 2012 team? I bought the very first releases, but swapped them out with the Battle Shell when those dropped (more screen accurate feet, more cartoony/less menacing looking, etc). Then recently I've been seeing more detailed turtles with painted eyes.

As far as I can tell they're just the original 2012 molds with different paint apps. They aren't necessarily more cartoon accurate either. Note that the knee and elbow pads are red, while in the Nick series they're brown for all four turtles.

If cartoon accuracy is your thing I would say spring for the Revoltech figures or stick with the Battle Shell wave.

Barnes shipped my turtles today even though I used the black Friday code on both of them, pretty nice.

Looking at comparison pics, you're right. Better paint apps on the 1st release turtles, but they have Battle Shell (more screen accurate) feet. And weird about the shoulder & knee pads, they were brown on the original releases.

I agree. It actually took me seeing the reviews of these to even buy them. I wasn't super fond of how 'smooshed' their faces looked at first. The alt heads look better overall, to me, anyway, but I'm happy with the figures now that I've had 'em to toy around with.
