And I've been meaning to post this, although I'm not sure if folks here are interested in them since they are not Revoltechs.

However Sofubi Toy Box is practically replacing the Sci-Fi Revo genre or the releases that were of unusual traits, so might as well mention them. There will also be buildings besides characters, animals and vehicles.

Why can't we all be friends? Yamaguchi is trying to tell us to be so.

The neck could have been done a bit better, and he drew the sword on his right with his left hand. But that's cool. Fun pic. And I still think the pinky is a great touch.

I thought I should clarify what I learn from the amiami review and Yamaguchi's twitter. The hip joints of Spider-Man is ball jointed like Deadpool, but the thigh joints are simple peg rotations at an angle. The calf section, divided by the blue and red pieces contains revolver joints so you can have different bends there to further exaggerate the posing. You can actually see the joints in some pictures.

And apparently there are no ratchets in the ankle joints. Maybe those are the same joints used in the Minis.

Sorry for the crappy diagram but you get the point.

I started off in love with deadpool, but man, the little flaws started adding up quick. The giraffe neck is a negative in more poses than it adds anything, and the swords are fragile as fuck. Stuff like the buckles which should be a gimmie aren't painted, while the factory straight up missed a huge spot of brown on his shoulder straps on mine. His eyes keep falling out, and even pledging the sockets doesn't keep them in.

All of the above really sucks, because he's mechanically great. The joints hold together well, and their placement is actually pretty great. He can pull off pretty much everything I can think of. Basically, I'm happy with him, but due to a combination of weak QC and bad ideas he feels really overpriced.
>>
>>6006527
Why the fuck would they make the calf joints a revolver joint and not just what Deadpool's thigh joints are? The decision to make that section look the way it does was already retarded at least make it legitimately functional.
>>
Whens the revoltech going to come to the US? Otherwise ill have to wait for the figma or figure from deadpool 2 which will hopefully look better. This one looks good but definitely has some flaws.

My favorite thing about reviewers getting angry about the revo deadpool is that they don't understand that like most revoltechs it is meant to be posed to fit one or two angles, making it work best for things like toy photography, but a lot of the people bitching about revo and praising the marvel legends are ACBA people.

It's hilarious how badly they don't understand what revos are for. It's literally for exactly what they want.
>>
Does anyone know how well Deadpool holds the Little Armory guns? I was thinking about picking a few up for him.
>>
>>6007047
They are a bit too small for revoltechs like Venom Snake and Deadpool. ML or NECA figure weapons works better if they fit in their hands.

What's your guys opinions on the Jack Skellington Revoltech?
I've been looking for a Jack figure recently, and the Revoltech seems to be the best one.
>>
>>6007104
Ah, that's a shame. What about the Kaiyodo Modeling Support Goods? Those seem cheaper than buying a bunch of NECAs. There's a minigun too, so if they scale with Deadpool I want to snatch some up.
>>
>>6007129
It's the best Jack figure hands down. Even if you hate Revoltech there is no other option with higher quality sculpt, paint, articulation and play value due to his alt heads. If you can get it for a good price you'll like it.
>>
>>6007134
You mean Kotobukiya. They are very much like HG gunpla weapons, with tiny grips so they will slide out of Deadpool's hands. The oversized ones like the motorized minigun that's held by two hands might work okay,
>>
>>6007135
Thanks for the info. I guess i'll have check the shops now for any good prices.
I'm kind of sad Oogie Boogie doesn't have a figure of this quality, but I guess i'll have to do with the Diamond Select in the meantime.

No one knows Warhammer 40k in Japan. With that said I was making my wishlist collage and included Space Marines. But I'm good for any kind of full armor future soldiers with Yamaguchi's attention to articulation so they can fold their guns properly.

I don't play video games that much, but I tried to pick ones that will benefit from his stylization and/or articulation so focused more on swords and guns users. Revoltech/VulcanLog wishlist video games edition. I know there is like 0.01% chance for any of these becoming a Revo.

The elbow is like that so it can get a full bent with a single joint. If it was deeper in the sculpt it cannot bend the arm as far.

I donno, if anything the way you can shift the ball back would mean less complaints about "tumor joints" sticking out. It's basically flush with his arm and looks alright from the front too. I think it gets great bend too, not exactly 90 degrees or anything but still great for what's essentially a single joint.

Honestly, I'd be happy if they used those for elbows and the balljoints thigh swivels like deadpool for everything from now on.

Ultron also has bigger arms, doesn't he? At least his bicep is bigger and thus more limiting.
Either way, imagine coupling Deadpools setup with the balljoint of Ultron - might've lead to more sightly elbows. I'm also wondering why he doesn't have little elbow nubs covering the joint.
>>
>>6006958
You should invest in a white box man, your stuff is great and it would look infinitely better in a cleaner setting... I recommend the Foldio 2
>>
>>6007440
I'd kill for some good 40k figures from anyone really. That franchise has some fun designs.

Would like Yamaguchi to do some eldar too, they'd be fun to pose chopping up humans.
>>
>>6007663
It works for Ultron because of the mechanical design, leaves less visual impact for the joints. I don't think it will work any better for Deadpool. I mean you get a bigger area for the joints looking forward, it might not stick out as much but I think it will be just as visually unpleasant.

I'm use to this style of elbow by now though, since Yamaguchi figures has been like this for a good while.

As NieR:Automata seems to be Square Enix, it's more like to be a PAK.
Licensing can be the issue I see with certain Platinum Game characters from games like Vanquish and Metal Gear due to Capcom and Konami.

But Platinum has some of their own IPs that they should really be looking at licensing out if possible.
>>
>>6008071
>is there a (recent?) trend of Kaiyodo including less and less accessories?
I wanna say no? Ultron was probably the skimpiest release recently, but venom and deadpool came with a ton of stuff. I'll admit I kind of miss the diorama stuff like the skeleton piles or angel corpses, but plastic isn't cheap anymore and I'm ok as long as we're still getting usable stuff.

Unless you mean the difference between actual kaiyodo releases VS. vulcanlog or whatever the fuck, because I barely have any idea who's even making the things nowadays.
>>
>>6008071
Every company includes less accessories nowadays. Revol Mini was showing the reverse trend of including more and more towards the end, but their prices went up too haha.

Kaiyodo does a good job of including the right kind of option parts imo.
>>
>>6008071
I shine a single desk lamp on them, shooting with phone camera, Galaxy Note 4.
>>
>>6008084
>>6008075
>>6008083
I guess I was kind of kneejerking it with the lack of accessories. Still, more is almost always better. I'd love if more (or any) figures came with battle damage parts. At least Revos are able to be fully disassmbled very easily but I really liked the MP Eva's bloody stumps.
>>
>>6008093
The version of MP Eva you have is probably the all-in version, having option parts from two different releases together in the same package, but I get what you're saying. That revoltech was originally released quite some time ago.

Deadpool especially could've used some torn suit body pieces, like for the head and arms, or even the abdomen piece. Kaiyodo knows they need to keep their prices down as much as possible for their figures in order to compete with the better selling rival brands.

>>
>>6009052
>Why the fuck are the Jarkroids 100 dollars on BBTS?
They aren't being locally distributed and if they are the price sucks ass. Given how dirt cheap (cheaper than Japan even) the Nexus figures were I think some of this other stuff just isn't being locally distributed since it's higher in price.
>>
>>6009052
Not saying there isn't a mark up on BBTS's part, but the SRP for it is ridiculous. 8500 yen.

Nexus was only 4000 yen if you wanna be conservative.

For that much, I might as well chase back that Tri-striker or something. Just can't justify the price being doubled.

If you want them to be that American cartoon style, try the Kinnikuman Revolminis. Black Hole, Robin Mask, and Pentagon (which was exclusive so might be hard to get) are all essentially muscular men in speedos. Boots and arm pieces can slide off because they were going with an universal body mold.

the funny part is I honestly feel that if japan ever enjoyed Warhammer, their typical degree of obsessing over things may be the only thing in the world to potentially, possibly, maybe get GW to sign off on 40K merchandise like action figures. Usually you can guess from the description of how many joints were used.
I think the hips are revolver joints because this dude has a lot of bigger joints, seven 10mm and four 8mm. But there are also two of the ball end joints used in the minis on the list and I'm not sure where they go.
My point is there are too many joints listed there for this figure to have a Deadpool style hips. Revo joint hips means you already have some thigh rotation.

>>
>>6015914
If anybody is having issues with deadpool's wrist joints coming apart you can just remove a little of the extra ring that goes into the hands so they slide off easier. Same thing I did to my venom snake as well.
>>
>>6015921
can you show waht you mean? Cause I wanna know when mine gets here
>>
>>6015929
Ignore him he is being a moron.
If the sculpt has too strong of a grip onto the pegs of the joints, just heat them up with the joints in them. Maybe turn it to the point of highest resistance so it will compress the plastic and you get a better, smoother turns.

If you cut off that bit, since the pegs are way shorter than your usual 4mm you will likely end up with the hands falling off anytime the sculpt hits and push each other out.
>>
>>6015935
dont call him a moron, you misread what he said

he didnt say cut it off, he said just remove the extra ring around the tip, not cut off the tip altogether
>>
>>6015935
No, I don't mean cut the whole end with the extra ring off just shave one side of the ring off and that will make it come off a bit easier.
>>
>>6015943
>>6015946
No I get it about the stopper ring bit. I mean the peg is much shorter to begin with and taking off that ring will more likely make the hands fall out too easily. It's there for a reason so just heat treat the hands to optimize the tension. It has never been so bad you need to take anything off.
>>
>>6015948
OK, I get your concern but I'm only talking about taking off a piece of the ring not all 100% of it just maybe 25% so it's mostly intact and still grips fine. I assume the ring creates a small seal in there and putting just a small gap is enough to break and let it come out easier. I want the hands to come off a bit easier so the joint doesn't separate because it's a bitch to get back together and getting the half out of the forearm is a pain with the way it's set in there.
>>
>>6015959
The fact that the joints separates when doing that sounds more like the grip is too strong to begin with so using heat is the better solution, plus it's not permanent. At least it's easier to undo.

I just got my first Revoltech. I was in a hobby store in Japan while on a trip and saw the Tamonten figure. It's pretty cool! I can definitely see the appeal of them: I spent like an hour posing a fiddling with it. I don't know if I'll get any more, but at least now I understand the appeal.
>>
>>6016588
Those belonging to the Takeya or Sci-Fi sublines are designed to be more visually appealing than their usual Revos. The ones many Revo fans tends to go nuts for are the Yamaguchi sculpted figures which are dedicated for having a high range of articulation.

If you're still there try grabbing the Deadpool or Sneaking Suit Venom Snake VulcanLog from someplace big or area of high competition so it has a decent discount. Or one of the Revol Mini because they tend to be cheaper and have joints much easier to manipulate. Then you can get some understanding of the other spectrum of Revoltechs.

VulcanLog Black Magician works too if you like him better.
>>
>>6016593
I left this morning and just got home. I'll stick with Gunpla and Magic as my hobbies for the moment.

That being said, I am a total weeaboo for Japanese Buddhist art. I could see myself slowly collecting the set of these guys and putting them in a display case or something.
