Don't number the goddamn threads.

Just don't fucking do it.

Next time you start a thread, Just don't put a number there It's goddamn moronic.
>>
Number the threads! We're at #9 now! Woo-hoo!

One good reason to want thread numbering is because if you're looking for older expired threads on 4archive or other archive sites, you can make sure you found all of them, and you can match the thread number to the dates.

If the threads were randomly named, there won't be a way to find them after they expire.

I vote for continuing thread numbers. #9 comes after #8. What's so moronic about that?
>>
>>6001123
Look around you boy. There are 3 other threads on this board that bother with numbers. And I feel bad for them.

The nature of 4chan is that the good content is preserved by the users. Not by archives.

So if you needed "that photo of a skeleton smoking a pipe" you can ask for it, someone will post it, and then new users will also be able to experience the content.

You also don't want to scare off new users who don't want to miss out on the last 20 threads worth but can't be bothered to check

Meanwhile. If you decide to go dig through the archives. I highly HIGHLY doubt that you'd be able to remember what the number of that thread was.

Practicality aside it looks moronic.
Anything less than a few hundred makes you look like babies trying desperately to get a grip on the board.

Any more and soon you'll start to look like lunatics (and if you need evidence of that, there are other boards with numbered threads in the thousands that are just goddamn insane)

I think I'm done with the Pirate Bar. I've been working on a base, and also integrating my pirate gachapon machines into it and a backdrop.

The skeleton that's sitting on the stool is Dokuroman Pumpkin Nightmare. The open hands ended up being quite useful, as he can "hold" a bottle in it (with a little help from museum putty) and he can hold his hat on his skull.

"Is this the strongest you got?"
"Arrrr, matey, this be The Black Ale"

Yeah mine from rakuten haven't gotten here either. Which is fine, I did only order them a little ways into October and chose the longest shipping option, they're definitely not late or anything. I was just hopeful I'd have them already.

They'll still be fun when they get here, though, Halloween or not.

Pose Skeleton Pretty man 650Yen (2017/01/20)

>Stop! Mr. Skeleton you're drunk!
>>
Any good 1:12 weapons? I know there was some decent GI Joe ones that fit the pose skeletons good.
>>
What kind of weapons? Dokuroman and Pose skeletons are in the general ballpark of 1:18 scale, so practically anything for 3.75"-4" figures will work, the one big caveat in the Pose skeletons' case being head gear. The Revoltech-based skeletons are 1:12 (or at least are by Japanese standards). Marvel Legends or Kotobukiya's "Little Armory" line for firearms.

Specifics of what you're looking for will definitely help narrow things down.
.

>>
>>6021421
Well, I doubt that Rement will go medieval... just based on what they've done and what they're doing with accessories for their Pose skelly- they don't seem to be into war stuff. They're not Gi Joe. Pose skelly seems to be a whimsical look at modern civilian life, with a touch of humor.

If you wanted medieval stuff for Pose skeleton, you could look at the Palisades "Army of Darkness" sets.

Hey skelly-fans. I just noticed that October Toys has just posted their "Titan 800" skeleton- $13.00. It's the same skeleton as their regular Titan, but this one is cast in a silver metallic color.

Those of us who paint skeletons know that silver paint on PVC is difficult. So, with this one being cast in silver plastic, it eliminates all the disadvantages of metallic paint- flaking off, or constant sticky feeling, etc. You can build your own cyborg or Terminator now!

http://octobertoys.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=124

I realize that October Toys is not doing anything truly new here. They're leveraging the already-existing molds and they're just creating new colorways, just like Onell's Glyos stuff.
>>
>>6029015
I might pick up one... Kind of went overboard grabbing two of the orange, trans green, and normal skeletons. Not really thrilled with how limited the articulation is but I'm curious about this silver plastic material.
>>
>>6029015
these are easily the worst skellys in skellington
>>
>>6029583
I like how they look, they remind me a little of how Mignola draws skeletons. The head tends to fall easily on mine.
>>
>>6029583
Oh, just wondering... why do you think they're "the worst" skellys? They're not lacking in articulation. They have reliable Glyos joints. They don't fall apart. They're sturdy enough to give to kids. Yeah, we know that they're not anatomically accurate, but they are true to the cartoon (Skeleton Warriors) that they were based on. They're not Kaiyodo, but for $10 (original price) you get a lot of bang for the buck.
>>
>>6029803
Not him, but I personally dont like the aethetic, even if it is accurate to a show, so they're probably my least favorite out of the basic skeleton figure options.

Also is it really good in articulation? That's neat, from looking at it I'd think it was really limited.
>>
>>6029939
bingo
>>
>>6029939
I wouldn't say the articulation is too limited. It's not as good as Kaiyodo's Revoltech Jason/Argo, but at 1/5 the cost, one cannot expect everything. It's better than most mass-market skeletons, and better than a lot of human-shaped action figures.

The prob with a lot of human/supehero action figures is the 'roid muscle mass, or sculpted clothing, which interferes considerably with articulation. Skeletons don't have these issues, so their inherent superiority over humans (LOL) comes through.

For October Toys skeletons, here's the artic list. It's advertised as 26 POA and it really does have 26 POA:

1: head (ball joint)
2: neck (360 swivel)
3,4,5,6; shoulders (360 swivel + hinge joint)
7,8,9,10: elbows (360 swivel + hinge joint)
11,12: wrists (360 swivel)
13,14: spine (360 swivel)
15,16,17,18: hips (360 swivel + hinge joint)
19,20,21,22: knees (360 swivel + hinge joint)
23,24,25,26: feet (360 swivel + hinge joint)

Any thoughts about the Indiana Jones Crystal Skeleton figure?

I bumped into an interesting review here:
http://www.oafe.net/rustin/ij4csx.php

It mentions that the skelly has 12 POA:

"As if that wasn't enough, he's loaded with articulation! Twelve points to be exact! The Skeleton has a balljointed head, shoulders and elbows, swivel waist, balljointed hips and, coolest of all, double-jointed knees."

Well, looking at that, it seems that Kaiyodo's 4" Dokuroman has more/better articulation. Anyone here have it, and can compare it to other modern skeleton toys?

How can you tighten a joint on a Re-ment pose skeleton figure? I got this two days ago and it comes with loose joints on the legs, it's still posable but its a pain in the ass, any advice?
>>
>>6032341
Drip some clear nail polish onto the joints then let them cure a bit. That should do it.

>>6032341
i don't know if the joints are uniform on the t-Rex, but when i had a loose joint on one of my pose skelly peepz i swapped the joints on the legs(that where loose) with ones from the head and arms, as these limbs didn't need as much friction to be held in place.

The skelly sucks, soft plastic and all. The chair is the big selling point. You might find someone on a GI Joe board who will sell off the Skelly. Most just wanted it for the throne chair.

I could pull one out in a few days when I swing by my folk's house.

I have the doubt to apply even that because the plastic is far different from what i'm used to have (transformers and that shit), so thank you anon.

I think it's something started by Vangelus a few years ago and it just grew into a meme of sorts. He promoted Future floor polish back when he was popular and now people think that's the only/best option.

Depending on the situation, it might be the best option, for instance, if you're already using Future. Although other brands of floor polish work as well.

But if you don't live in a country where that brand is available, or in a house where polishing floors is not applicable, then you might as well get clear nail polish. A) It's dirt cheap B) It's easy to find and C) It's pretty much just as effective with generally no adverse effects.

I've yet to hear anyone give a legit reason why floor polish is better than clear nail polish. If they did, then I'd be all for it. As it is, it's just another option, but not the ONLY option.
>>
>>6040045
Different Anon here, but I'm gonna try clear nail polish. I've got a Dokuroman with a gimped elbow and Future isn't doing shit for it anymore.

Nice. Thanks. The Jason Skeleton is one of my favorite figures I own.

Unfortunately his arm joint was loose enough to fall into my shaggy rug and get lost forever. I still have the shield arm I can use as a replacement, but now he permanently has to hold a shield.

But I'll pick this other one up, looks really cool even though I liked the aesthetic of the Jason one more.

Just got this guy. He's cool, I don't regret getting him at all, but I think I prefer the Skeleton Warrior one.

This one I just got has stiff joints, too stiff. Some of the Revo joints are splitting apart too. Because of that, posing him and moving him around doesnt feel anywhere as satisfying as it does when I play around with the Skeleton Warrior one. It's just awkward and nerve wrecking. Skeleton Warrior had looser joints so moving him around was fluid and sturdy. He also has more range of motion.

Also I tried giving this one the 2 heads look, but one of the holes in the 2 head vertebrae piece is too small for the joint, it wont fit at all

Looks like something "new" is coming from Boss Fight Studios.

Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Warrior Skeleton - Wave 6

This is different from the plain vanilla BFS skelly because it has armor, and... what appears to be an actual paint wash!

I never bought their "cursed skeleton" in an earlier wave because the color combo looked too toy-like, and the skelly looked a bit silly in ill-fitting armor.

This new one, however... maybe BFS solved the armor-fitting problem with either a) a new piece that's meant to fit a skeleton or b) using female armor. Whatever they did, this new one looks far more realistic and could be worth the $5 more than their plain, unpainted skeleton.

http://bossfightshop.com/collections/series-1/products/copy-of-vitruvian-h-a-c-k-s-achilles-wave-6-pre-order
>>
>>6104009

It still comes with those goofy clear filler pieces though right.
>>
>>6104009
can I take the armor off cus I just want the skeleton
>>
>>6104027
Yes, the pic in their online shop shows the goofy clear pieces. Maybe those are for fitting other male armor (not included). The armor on this "new" skelly seems to fit snugly already, so that's why I suspect that these are either new pieces or female armor.

>>6104029
Yes, BFS skellys and figures are designed so you can remove the armor. If all you wanted was the skelly, you could just buy the plain one (for $5 less) and paintwash it yourself.

It sort-of depends on what you want to do with them. Are you looking for a toy? A high-end action figure? Or something to use in the classroom to teach anatomy?

If what you truly wanted was an anatomical skeleton model, you can get one here:

You can never go wrong with the Kaiyodo Jason/Argo skelly. It's just that the skelly has been off the market for about 5 years, and now it sells for $70-$90. If you can get it for $60-ish, that's great. if you can find one from an overseas dealer (not ebay) for $40-ish, even better.

I think it's a better looking skeleton than the more recent Kaiyodo ones.

A decent sculpt but no articulation, that's what you're gonna get. Only their animal figures are worth it imo.
>>
>>6132346
One of Kaiyodo's, then. Either one of the Jason and The Argonauts Skeleton Warriors, or one of the skeletons they've released under the KT Project Jizai Okimono banner. The Jason and the Argonauts one is pricey now that you'll likely have to trawl the secondary market for one, but it also comes with the benefit of having a partial skeleton incorporated into the base.

If the "feet" skeletons don't need to actually do anything, you might wait until Halloween (if you're here in Burgerland) and use some sort of largely-static skeleton decoration for those.
>>
>>6132292
Well, since you want six inch or near, go for the Kaiyodo ones. I personally like the Jason/Argo one, but the newer ones can be had for about $50. Just search ebay for "Kaiyodo skeleton" to get an idea of all the varieties and names.

Now for the robe. Hope you're good at sewing! I did an experimental robe for an October Toys skeleton (4.75") and it is do-able in that scale. Buy cotton cloth, toss it in the washer and the dryer. Sew up the robe, and then intentionally distress it with sandpaper, a rasp, and the edge of some scissors. Then "age" the robe by tying it onto a tree branch outside and leaving it out there for a few months. The fade pattern is truly authentic and cannot be duplicated using, say, bleach.

If you weren't in the market for a $50 skeleton, you could buy an October Toys one for $12.
>>
>>6132346
>>6132991
Jason and the Argonauts Skeleton Warriror definitely. Last time I checked there was a bunch on Mandarke for around $50 which is pretty good for after market prices. Normally it's like $80-$100 on other sites.
Moving him around it fluid and fun, I have a hard time putting him down.

The KT Project one is not fun at all. Atleast in my experience. Moving him around is a chore. Bones easily get unalligned, and the joints are in their sockets too tight.and cause the revoltech joints to split apart.
He does look great though, especially with those options he comes with, but still overall
>>
>>6132573
Hmmm, US prices are about 8 bucks. I don't think it's worth it. Pose Skeleton and Dokuroman will kick its butt (and they're capable of kicking butt. The Schleich one is not poseable)

D'Compose figure when?
>>
>>6139801

You mean old figures or new figures? For old ones... ebay, baby, ebay.

New ones? Not very likely. Just like the "Skeleton Warriors" cartoon, there isn't much of a modern day market this kind of stuff. October Toys tried. They bought the license for "Skeleton Warriors" and thought they'd make a whole line of new skeleton figures.

But, money is the problem. It costs $50,000 to make molds and manufacture *one* figure. They managed to make 2 skeleton figures, but couldn't get funded (on Kickstarter) to keep going forwards with other ones. So they stopped.

D'Compose has the same problem. The cartoon is 30 years old. It doesn't have a deep pockets rabid fanbase willing to fund a new toyline at $50,000 per character.

If you're lucky, maybe Funko might get the license for cheap and put out some crappy 5-POA junk and charge you $15 for it.

>You mean old figures or new figures?
new updated figures, of course

>If you're lucky, maybe Funko might get the license for cheap and put out some crappy 5-POA junk and charge you $15 for it.
Hell, no! Not cheapass funko shit

>Want to get my first October Toys skeleton
>Shop is still down for the Holiday

jeese, what holidays are they celebrating?
>>

I didn't think a Skeleton Warriors relaunch had a snow ball's chance in hell. I'm an oldfag that remembers the original line, and the cartoon was pretty much DOA from the jump. I commend them for the attempt, but there really isn't much of a fan base to tap.

That's exactly why the second run failed.

No one gives a shit about the property.

The first wave succeeded because people want more generic skeletons. Not the shittily designed boss guys
>>

Christmas, New Years, MLK and Chinese New Year are all merging into one super-holiday?

>>6143227
Sadly, that's true. The first OT KS made *2* figures for $45,000 (Baron Dark and generic skeleton). With the generic skeleton, a person could buy multiples, and they could be made in different colors. That could be continually profitable.

But the 2nd KS, with only *1* character at $50,000 and too closely tied to an obscure, one-season cartoon... well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it would fail.

Getting people to buy multiples is the key. Efficient use of molds and all. Boss Fight Studio has perfected that art.

Still, October Toys did manage to put out a durable, well-articulated, reasonably-priced, large-ish toy skeleton for $10 (original price).

Check out the bootleg Pose skeletons! 3 in the set. As you scroll through the pictures, notice how awful the paint jobs are!

They're cheap ($9 for a set of 3) but I suspect that you get what you pay for.

Damn, they really looks like a cheapo chink bootleg

I guess this explains everything about October Toys.... they're splitting up and calling it quits.

See Octobertoys.com:

"After 12 amazing years, we have decided it’s time to explore new projects and opportunities outside of October Toys. We are so thankful for all of the incredible people we have met and friends we have made though this chapter of our toy lives. There is no way to say thank you enough to the people that have become family to us and to each and every fan who has supported our projects over the years.

Having been in business for over a decade, of course we’ve had our ups and downs with October Toys, but we count the whole experience as a success with half a dozen successful Kickstarter campaigns, dozens of designer toy projects produced, hundreds of hours of Toy Break, and so many awesome conventions that we’ve lost count!

This is is not a goodbye though! Although we will not be working under the name October Toys any more, we are still hanging around and working in the independent toy scene on a variety of exciting new projects. [...]"

So, this is the final nail in the "new Skeleton Warriors" coffin. But, since they still have leftover stock, it just wouldn't make sense for them to just let the skellys sit around in a warehouse rotting, when cash is so much more useful. If and when they re-open their store, better grab as many OT skellys as you think you'll need for now and the future.

That said, they did have a partnership with Onell, so it could be possible that Onell might put out additional colors of the base Titan skeleton in the future, even with no more OT.

Ordered the new female skeleton, and set style room. Hoping they're as good as their other products.

Also does anybody know if the miWorld, Odoria, and Calico Critters brands are good scale wise compared to pose skeletons?
>>
>>6149758
The miWorld stuff is scaled for figures larger than 1:18. It works best with 1:12/6" stuff. Calico Critters stuff should work, though. Looks like Odoria stuff is all 1:12 or 1:6, which won't do at all.
>>
>>6149758
MiWorld playsets and dolls are scaled for 5" figures. They wouldn't work for Pose skeleton, but they'd be great for the Kaiyodo skeletons (not Dokuroman), October Toys skeletons and Figmas.
>>
>>6147969
We'll probably still see some skellies from Onell though.
