>Learn to Disney Park culture.

Fun Fact: There's a pretty big fan base on Youtube, and deviantART that dates back to 2007 that has been pairing them together as a couple for some reason.
I don't really get it myself, but it is a thing.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it all started in 2007 with a video called "Not going to kiss the girl" Where the Hatter is asked to kiss Alice at the park.
>Video very related
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtqwzJuHfYg

I believe it was that video that sparked the fan videos bellow.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA4ensK3Eu4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBjGpeKUzxI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iZKnIKKcYk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk318rqQsqE
There's a hundred more of these on Youtube, but you get the point.

Fun Fact: The girl who plays Alice in the video married the actor in real life, and have a baby together now.

Anyways back on topic. I really wish Disney would release a Hatter doll that looks like the character that walks around the park.
In fact I wish they would release a line of doll that look like the characters that walk around the park instead of the way they appear in their animated films.

I believe they released a Limited Edition Micky Mouse doll in Japan that did just this.

He's a Mickey doll who is meant to look like the mascot character that walks around the park instead of the animated version.
I wish this kinda thing would catch on in the US, because I would love to own one.

It may just be for the Instagram. Mattel does all sorts of fun stuff for their Instagram that doesn't necessarily show up for sale.

>>5987257
Saw most of this at Walmart yesterday. They also had a few more playsets (Spaghetti Chef, etc) that weren't pink overload. It was nice.
>>
>>5994548
That's kind of dumb. If they're going through all the trouble of making a new mold why not make money off it?
>>
>>5994632
It costs more money to put a new mold into retail production than to make one for Instagram. Same reason why most of the props on the Instagram aren't sold.
>>
>>5994340
The curvy doll isn't obesed it's more on the line of THICC women. Besides, people come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors and mattel is trying to catter to everyone.

>>5994346
Okay that lady needs a different pair of glasses to fit the shape of her head a new hair style, better wardrobe to fit her figure and maje up to cover the skin blotches on her chest. >They always look horribly proportionated in their stupid generic "super-something" outfits. Can't really call this "fashion dolls" at all.

The thread really isn't for fashion dolls (otherwise Disney dolls and others that have been regularly posted since the first threads wouldn't be in here) despite the title.

>A thread for Barbie dolls, Disney dolls, and any dolls that aren't Monster High/Ever After High or BJD.
>>
>>5995064
So?

Why use misleading titles?

Change it and perhaps people won't come to talk about fashion dolls.
>>
>>5995226
>Change it and perhaps people won't come to talk about fashion dolls.

No one is saying not to talk about fashion dolls. You're the one who said that people called the DC Super Hero Girls "fashion dolls" (which no one did) even though the description of the thread, and the content of these threads for the past months that it's been on /toy/, clearly goes beyond just fashion dolls.
>>
>>
>>5995226
>>5995255
Also, DC Super Hero Girls does have the main doll line that comes with proper clothes and everything.

Nowadays pretty much every common fashion doll brand has lines that have molded on clothes. You don't have to like it, you can whine about the trend of molded on clothes, but it would be kinda stupid to ban discussion of such dolls from this thread.
>>
>>5995064
>>5995226

Let me try to help you understand. These doll threads stared out as Disney doll threads. At least they started out like Disney doll threads in 2015. Once the first wave of Heroes Vs Villains designer dolls were over Disney doll threads started getting very slow to the point of dying so the OP made the choice to include the words (fashion doll , and Barbie) to the threads in hopes of bringing new people to the threads. Even with the second wave of Disney Store designer dolls this year the OP made a choice to not go back to calling these type of threads "Disney doll threads".
Hope this clear things up.

Holy crap, at first glance at the thumb nail I almost thought I was looking at an image of the new LE Moana doll vs the Disney Store version.
That was of course until I clicked on it. It really is night and day isn't it. Obviously the Disney store version wins. It's just sad that the LE version looks like crap. I don't own a Moana doll yet, and if the LE version wasn't so simple looking I would have made it my first.

I think that for $120 plus tax they should have put the LE doll in this outfit.

Bumblebee is the first black superheroine for DC as well as being a temporary member of Teen Titans before going out on her own. If you're a fan of DC, you'll want her purely just for being a fan or if she's a personal favorite. However, when you're autistic about black people being super heroes like you, it would be unappealing.
>>
>>5993626
you could easily argue that batgirl and supergirl are less iconic than wonder woman.
>>
>>5998223
>when you're autistic about black people being super heroes like you

I know very little about DC, Star Wars or any type of super hero capeshit in general. Believe me when I say your bee girl is of very little consequence to me.

>>5998223
Bumblebee is a Transformer. Not sure how you got this mistaken.
>>
>>5994708
>The curvy doll isn't obesed it's more on the line of THICC women
Yeah I don't get why everyone calls her obese. Like I have one and did the math, if she's average height then she's about a size 10 and probably around a 32 or 34C. Which is a medium/large. Not even big enough for plus size stores. Plus her stomach is sculpted about as flat as the MTM I bought at the same time. She's not meant to be obese/fat at all and doesn't accurately represent such a body. She's just got a wider structure and an ass/thighs that look like she does hella squats.
>>
>>5998366
Because everyone knows who batgirl, wonder woman, and super girl are.

For the same reason you don't have to be into Disney to know who Mickey mouse is. Somethings are iconic enough for everyone to recognize them. You're bee girl character on the other hand is as iconic as dog shit on a sunny day.
>>
>>5998419

I asked him if he bought it because of the dolls race or because he was a fan of the character. He evades the question like a politician each time I ask by saying random stuff like "Why do you care what others like". It's kinda amusing.

He didn't say he bought it. He didn't even say he liked it. Yet you made all these assumptions about him buying it because it's a black doll... It's kinda amusing.

Hey guys, long time toy collector here, first time Barbie buyer. In my 32 years of life I had always steered away from owning any kind of fashion dolls but Ready To Move Barbie really caught my eye. I realize I may be late to the party but I think I'm in love with this doll, my only major gripe though is the lack of rotation in the waste, that seems like a missed opportunity for a Barbie that is supposed to be the most flexible ever, which it is, but it could've been better... I'm considering picking up the rest of her friends in this Ready To Move line though, should I?
>>
>>5998854
I think she's from 1992.

You're right I miss worded my last post, but it sure didn't stop you from using that typo to continue grasping at straws. lol The original question (If you bother to read the thread) was if he was interested in it because of the dolls race or because he was a fan of the character.

That's not what a typo is. And it's not the first time you implied that they said they wanted it or liked it, despite him saying neither of those things. All the original person said was they wondered if Bumblee would be sold separately like the other dolls in that multi-pack.
>>
>>5998885
If you like them, buy them? Personally I don't like the plain faces, but I swap the heads of the MTM dolls I have anyway.
>>
>>5998375
A lot of people online get really triggered by different body types: to them, anything that isn't skinny/slim is obese and a disgusting ploy by fat fatties to try to feel better about their fatness.

The curvy Barbie is by no means fat. She has heavy hips, but it really is about body type, not about being fat. As you point out, the curvy Barbie is quite fit looking in terms of her body sculpt.

Well I did it y'all. I bit the brown bullet, and got a $20 Disney store Moana doll. I lowered her skirt down a little in order to see her belly button, just like I did with my Aladdin, and Jasmine dolls. I'm calling her my cute chubby little brown doll. I got some heat from my family for buying "The ugly brown doll" today. My older sister was so mad that I bought it that she left the store. I kept telling them all that Moana isn't black, and that she's a Hawaiian /polangen princess in hopes that they would except her a little, but by the slightly disgusted looks on their faces when I was unboxing her at the table it didn't work. I wanna get the 2016 black frog princess, because she comes with the frog, but for the past few years everytime I touch her box at the Disney store a family member will rolls their eyes, and ask me to stop. Now every time we pass by a black doll at a store they grab it, and say "Oh, look its a black doll, give it to a anon." I'm just going to buy a bunch of classic dolls one day, and try to slip her in. Crossing my fingers that nobody notices her.
>>
>>6000167
Tell then 'yes, get it for me' without shame. If you are older then 18 you shouldnt care what racists or bigots say - especially shitty family memebers.
>>
>>6000167
Your family is a bunch of drama queens. You keep on doing you, anon.
>>
>>6000037
The things that doll has probably seen in the 24 years since she left the production line, if only she could talk. I don't know why but things like that fascinate me.

I recently bought a near mint 1985 Jem doll, I'd love to know her history.
>>
>>6000167
What the fuck did I just read.. I'm shocked people like that still exist in this day and age. Disgusting.
>>
>>6000167
If it's your own money, they have no say in how you spend it anon. You buy you a Tiana if you want to, god knows she could use the love.
>>
>>6000358
Different anon but lemme tell you a story. My mom once bought one of those multipack Mattel Disney sets just for Tiana, because she signed up to take a little girl's wish list for our church's Santa program and the only thing she wanted was that basic $12 Tiana. Kid's family was known to say things in regular conversation that just barely kept from being outright racist and my mom was torn between giving the kid the only thing she wanted and knowing her parents would probably either be upset or throw it out.
>>
>>6000422
Your mom is good people. I'm sure that kid was thrilled.
>>
>>6000167
so you're stuck forever with the standard aryan Barbie.
Must be boring.
>>
>>6000557
She certainly seemed to be happy, obv we didn't see her open it (the whole point of the program is that kids from poorer families still get something under their tree from Santa) but she always had at least one of the dolls with her afterwards. Its a farm town so theres usually at least one family that is pretty broke after a failed harvest, but it also means that they're pretty redneck and often a little biased in some way. One year my mom got a 15 year old girl that wanted some basic makeup items and the parents threw a huge fit about it being whorish.
>>
I saw the Camping Fun Barbie sets at Wal-mart this week. They look really nice! I'm debating getting a few of the accessory sets for posing. I'll probably wait until Christmas sales, though.

But they risk upsetting the easily irate angry mom/ blue haired tumblr crowd. Can you imagine how many blogs out there would be badmouthing Mattel just because they got rid of the curvy model? "Matty is fat-shaming for getting rid of fat Babs! They claim low sales, but I bought 10 myself! Blah, blah blah. Someone needs reparations and that someone is me." Pretty soon the mainstream media will get wind of it and that will make it worse.

What you collect shouldn't get in the way if a person is really into you. Just because you feel that you might not be able to pull it off doesn't mean that others have the same problem. I've shown my crazy toy/doll filled room to four girls, and everything went fine.
>image very related.

First girl was a little freaked, and called her friend on her phone to tell her what she was looking at. Still stayed to watch The Lion King, and came back a few more times to watch movies and mess around.

Second girl called me a "God" for owning every single Freddy movie. Lost her V-Card in my doll room while a Freddy Kruger movie played in the back ground.

Third girl tried tried a little to hard, and actually started wearing Barbie shirts when she would come over, and underwear that had cartoon faces on them. I guess she thought I'd be into that which was sweet.

Fourth girl was a crazy red head, and loved my collection. She said that she loved the clutter. She liked my room so much she started collecting everything I would in order to turn her room into a mirror image of my room. We went to a sex shop where I bought a blow up doll. She got a pink dildo, and used it as a microphone to lip sync to some old Spice girl songs.

>Twilight fans
Even back in the day I never really got Twilight or it's fans. Saw an episode of Jimmy Kimmel live where the cast was on. They took audience questions. One of the 40 year old Twilight moms asked a 16 year old Taylor Lautner if he could take of his shirt, and show them his sexy chest. The rest of the adult females in the crowed cheered this request on. Would have loved to have seen how it would have played out if it had been a 40 year old man asking a 16 year old Taylor Swift to take off her shirt, and show them her sexy chest instead. The audience around him probably would have risen as one, and slayed him.
>>
>>6005985
Yeah, >>6005994 is correct. Our current concept of what constitutes large breasts is really skewed by bra companies not accurately measuring for fittings anymore, and the assumption that cup size = breast volume. Its actually just the difference in inches between your underbust and bust line (A=1", B=2" so on so forth) and so it greatly depends on the rest of your body shape whether a C will look big or small.

For example, one of my friends and I are both DD cups. I'm a 36DD on a tall/wide frame (think female football player) and my friend is a 32DD and a delicate 5'3". Her boobs look way larger than mine, because since she's so much smaller in general, that 5 inches is a huge difference.
And for extra fuckery, the whole 'sister size' thing comes up describing sizes that technically share the same bust measurement, but differing cup and underbust. Another friend of mine and I have the same bust measurement of 41", but she is a 32HH (generally has to buy a 34H). Literal anime tits.

Looks like the new Mattel thing is Enchantimals: http://www.awn.com/news/mattel-announces-two-new-animated-barbie-series-tv-special
>At first glance you may think that the Enchantimals are just a regular group of girls. But on closer inspection you’ll see that this unique band live somewhere between human and animal. The Enchantimals are at one with nature, and as keepers of their forest home, they strive to maintain balance, peace and harmony, with unwavering compassion towards all living things. Each Enchantimal gets some much needed help from their very own animal bestie. Like the best of friends, they share an unbreakable bond, as well as extraordinary animal abilities. But why does their forest home need such a special group to help look after it? Because this is no ordinary forest - it’s enchanted!

Fuck that. I like the doll, it's gorgeous, but now it's a bad taste in my mouth.

Outrageous. You might as well save up and get the original for that cost.

Sounds like you have a problem with capitalism there, anon LOL You can say that he gave you his word all you want, but unless there was some type of legal document stating that he was going to sell it to you for that price he can do what ever the heck he wants. Even when legal document are in order people can still find loop holes to get out of them. How many times have families gone to court in hopes of nullifying a will to get more money. Ex-wives have gotten millions even when a prenuptial agreement has been signed. Talk about going back on your word in order to get some extra cash out of a deal. He's not your friend, and he owes you nothing. Business is business after all. He did a shitty thing, but it was his decision to make.

Sorry you lost out on the doll. Sometimes shitty things like that just happen in life.

>>6007893
>treating customers like that is not exactly good for business
I completely agree, but that's life. We live in a world that tries to squeeze as much out of you while giving you as little in return as possible. Restaurants do it, Film studios do it, even the Disney store does it by lowering the quality of LE dolls while raising the already high price point of $100 to $120. Hell I went to Burger King last year, and the guy actually counted how many individual onion rings went into the bag instead of just scooping them in. As he plucked each onion ring into the bag I asked why, and was told that "the new manager doesn't want us giving out more than 8 onion rings per bag." I personally never went back. Not because I wanted more food mind you, but because the act of counting onion rings disgusted me. Sadly for every one person that stands up against a dick seller by not giving them money ten new people will eventually take their place.

Point is that the owner of a property can do what he wishes to do with his property. Doesn't make it right, doesn't make it fair, but if their is no law in place to stop him there's not much you, and I can do other than to not give them business.

Seeing that the original sells for thousands of dollars today $500 doesn't seem half bad. That's what I payed for my LE Ariel doll a year ago. I could have owned four LE Ariels for the price I paid, but I let others talk me out of buying it when my Disney Store was selling them. They didn't even sell out on the first day. I had time to get her, but a cloud of autism was hovering over my head that week. Some might even argue that it's been hovering over me ever since.

Just picked up this thing a few days ago. She has legs, but the dress is non removable unless you cut the electronic cables that connect the dress to her body so I'm taking it back this week. Mrs. Potts has so many screw holes in her face that she looks like a mutilated frankenstein tea pott. The worst part is that I mostly wanted it for the singing Mrs. Potts, but she only sings 10 seconds of the song on her own. Both Mrs. Potts, and Belle need to have fully charged batteries in order to connect them together so Mrs Potts can sing the full 25 seconds of the song. With out Belle she forever stuck in try me mode.

I came to the conclusion that it's not worth $50 to me, but if I can get it on sale like I did with the singing, light up Rapunzel doll last year I might pick her up. I take really good care of the box, and twisty ties while unboxing dolls I'm not sure I wanna keep just in case they have to go back.

Nope, no smug feels behind the post. Just ironically echoing back the words others have thrown in my face in these doll threads in the past years to see what the reaction would be. I know that in the past when I've told stories which have been very similar to the one that anon posted I get the whole "you must have a problem with capitalism" speech thrown at me with a burning passion. That comment is shorty followed by other anons dog piling in to agree with that capitalist ideology. I just wanted to see how many contrarians I could find in these threads. I wanted to see if anyone would agree with this harsh way of thinking (as they've done in past threads) or if the type of anons who post in these threads just enjoying giving the opposite point of view at all times. I say the sky is blue they feel the need to argue that it's actually green that kinda thing. Maybe being a contrarian gets them off. I don't know. I'm not here to judge.

Being fat should not be glamorised or idolised. It's extremely unhealthy and leads to an early death. Kids should not be taught that it is totally fine to be fat. Very damaging.

I'm a fatty and would not wish it on anyone. When I see very fat children stuffing their face with crap it really breaks my heart. The younger you try and do something about it the better.

The same applies to people who are underweight because they think is fashionable is equally as wrong.

Kinda but not quite.

Barbie was an illegal clone of the Bild Lilli doll from Germany. The Lilii doll was a gag gift for men based off a saucy comic strip. It wasn't until three years later that Mattel bought out the rights to Lilli and ended her production due to a huge ensuing law suit from the creators of Lilli and other license holders. Of course Mattel have since wiped her from history and tried to claim that Barbie was the first fashion doll.

As you can see, Lilli is almost identical to 1959 Barbie.

Which is it? Are little girls body images affected by barbie or not cause you can't fucking flip flop on it depending on whether or not you think the barbie in question is hot.
