Just repostin' from the other thread, but does anyone know how to possibly tighten a MMC Bovis combiner joint? The ratchet is noticeably looser on mine than his other leg. It kind of flops a bit when I lift him. It doesn't mess with his posing, far as I can tell, but I would like to tighten it if possible.

I'm pure shit at trying to take anything apart though, and lack the tools to do so, but I could potentially try, though would rather not risk my $100 toy to a shitty glasses screwdriver and my own ineptitude. Would futureshine possibly work?

Aside from the Machine Robo stuff, my favorite part of the day had to be seeing a demonstration of Bold Forms' Gladius and getting to hold it in gun mode.

Complex transformation, perfect gun size, and pretty damn solid. I really hope the final release turns out this good. Unfortunately the stock is not removable but it really doesn't bother me too much.

I think the guy showing it may have been the designer/owner of the company. Either way he had some interesting stuff to say. I've got a video starting from after the legs are partially transformed, but it's fucking long so maybe I'll cut it down if anyone's interested.

Basically, the only partsforming from what I could tell is stuff you'd normally see on a Megatron. I seem to remember the guy stressing how minimal / nonexistent it was.

It's pretty simple. The hardest part of the jet is his shoulder assembly (which isn't that hard) and sliding his backpack up/down (which for me was *really* tight for the first few times).

The tank is literally just flipping panels and sandwiching it together.

Haven't put him into base mode yet.

Got my KBB-10V Prime today. Fucking great figure so far. Joints are pretty perfect feeling, nothing wrong except a paint chip here or there on the die cast, which is par for course with such a shit material, and one other problem which was probably unique to me as I haven't heard anyone else say anything about it, which is why I was unprepared.

The two red circles. On my copy, the one on his window had some mold flash where it was a bit improperly molded, the peg being too big. I didn't notice it until I closed his chest, which resulted in chipping/gouging the chrome off in the circled spot.

Shit.

Ah well. I'm probably not going to keep him in truck mode much, if at all, and it's kind of tiny, but it put a small damper on my day and this otherwise pretty damn great figure. And given I've not heard of anyone else complaining about this, it was probably just a QC error, and not one I'm going to really bitch to the seller about either seeing as it's such a small imperfection.

Just putting this out there as a tiny warning for anyone else who might get him, thats all.

Do it. Get both of them. Overlord had some issues with his alt modes (in my opinion): parts forming, no where to store the ramps, etc. But that bot mode is a thing of beauty. Totally worth it. Black Shadow is really solid all around, it doesn't do anything /amazing/ but it does it well.

Pretty good. Very accurate and big. He has some less than desirable tolerances though. The wrist ball joints need some floor polish. You'll need to loosen a screw on his triceps to get his elbows to move a bit easier.

holy shit the only thing that looked like it partsformed was the gun barrel silencer. The treads in Tank mode become the stock too.

I wish it was sculpted a little better in robot mode and that there was a lot more paint. I'll see what's up with the final production but it's looking more like a cool novelty.

Similar sure. I don't have any problem with Carnifex being considered an IDW inspired Overlord, because it totally is. Just not the one I would personally want. Transformation and engineering-wise he looks great, but stylistically he's just not for me.

I think it's mostly the legs. I kind of hate Carnifex's legs. Both his sins and upper legs have this weird bulbous-yet-pointy look that I don't care for.

Also still too many parallel lines, which I am all burnt out on. The parts that were redesigned (there was that one article talking about his design process, basically the legs are from the original design) look great, but they should have just scrapped the rest of it and started completely over.

You guys do realize that a perfectly accurate cartoon or IDW toy can never exist, because the comics and cartoons rely on transformations that cannot exist in real life. They can shift sizes and parts in a comic books and cartoons in ways that you cant in real life, at least not without part swapping or parts forming.

Unfortunately the only other Overlord coming out is DoubleEvil which is a too G1 for me. And the jet nose is way way too big imo.

I'll probably hold off and see how the official one measure's up. Won't be as nice a toy, but the price is something to take into consideration too. I could pay $180+ for a figure I mostly like the look of OR pay ~$50 for a figure I mostly like the look off.

Combiners always are a bit weird to work with, the downside of them being 5-6 different figures that have to work on their own with their own alt modes, and then need to work together as some gestalt monster. Meanwhile Overlord there is one guy who splits into two vehicles and designed as such.

So my Carnifex's closed mouth face has some crap paint. Sent MMC a message on their product support page asking if there was any way I could get a replacement.
