Accurate doesn't have to mean slavish devotion to G1. It should mean, though, more accuracy to things in general. Take TR Blurr for example. His deco is virtually paintless, and matches none of his incarnations-Toys past and present, shows, comics, nothing. But the toy is clearly modeled after his G1 appearance, except it fails in that because it doesn't color match anything from G1, toy or cartoon.

I would say SOTA was and still is. The stuff they did, the sculpts they put out, all in that one brief time period in the early 00s, and in so few waves, are pretty much beyond comparison.

...Minus their female figures, I won't bullshit on that one.

But for my money, the Balrog, Sagat, and Blanka sculpts remain some of the most incredible that a US company has ever put out. Hell, even a shit character like Birdie is amazing in figure form. Some of them were missing the double elbows of Legends, but every single last thing was on point for those (male) SOTA figures. I would say the only sculpts that come close from TB Legends (outside of BAFs) would be Namor's head (not the body), Man-Thing, and Face Off Hulk.

The Black Series isn't much better either, and are generally even worse for articulation.

What really pisses me off about Hasbro's pitiful output, though, is certain autists claiming them to be some kind of gold standard amongst collectors' grade figures (when they aren't even the bronze standard amongst American toy companies).

NECA annoys me too, mainly because their spotty QC and low budget ruins way too many otherwise good figures. I'd be tempted to buy their human Aliens figures were it not for the single-jointed knees and elbows and the risk of stuck joints and warped parts. They are still head and shoulders above most other American companies though.

As much as I hate to say it, the Phoenix Wright figma.

It actually stuns me when I look at it. The arm joints, the shoulders, that awkward wrist on his pointing arm... it's horrible.

I'm still planning on purchasing it, if only to support more Ace Attorney figures, but if it looks like the previews so far, then I'll be mighty disappointed.

Any non-mech revoltech sucks balls. Even more than PAK.
