Hey guys
I've never posted on >>>/toy/ before so I'm sorry if this isn't really what this board is for. I recently bought this build your own fort kit for my kids and it's garbage. He loves builing the things, but just putting a sheet on will usually cause it to fall apart because of how poorly the pieces fit together. Can anyone recommend a better set?
i'd recommend revoltech queen's blade alice

does the architecture factor in proper weight distrubution? have you tried connecting them with Pledge future shine or some other parts to reinforce the connectors?

I suggest you to use plumber plastic pipe to build something simple and sew sheets together to make your own awesome castle.
You can solder plastic joints together with a soldering iron. But this belong to /diy/.

Just get some pillows and sheets.
Old school.

I'm no engineer. I just put together some of the shapes it recommend (igloo for example). I noticed some of the connector holes were more shallow than others (1/4" seemed normal, some where less than half that) so I used a drill bit smaller than the hole diameter to make it a little deeper. Some of the holes are also larger than what appears to be normal so the connector rods pop out.

I'd thought about trying to make something out of dowel rods, but PVC pipe could work. Whatever I made wouldn't be as flexible as a kit like this (since the connectors have multiple angles). Thanks for the tip, I'll ponder on that.
Go full-on cooldad and hit up home depot and build a simple wooden fort in your yard, if you have the space. Obviously include him in the safer parts, buy him a playschool tool belt or some shit depending on how old he is, and you'll get some great bonding time out of it too.

Unfortunately my neighborhood has a truly awful HOA, so I would have to get a permit to do that (they're already mad because I painted my house without asking permission). If I could build it in such a way that i could take it apart that could work though.

Time to teach your son hunting and take out the HOA president with him.

You'd be surprised what's in the plumbing aisle. Just go into Home Depot or Lowes with an open mind and thoroughly browse all the aisles. There might even be some specifically made parts or tutorials online if you look for "PVC play fort instructions".

I suggest getting the NECA fort.
it has much better quality than all other brands
