First for Dungeons and Dragons

Lately been trying to throw what little castle-related stuff all into a bag, anything from minifig parts to trinkets that look like they might belong. Might eventually become a bit of a mix-n-match character creation thing, so here are a few.
Anyone interested in seeing more?

Anyone else been getting this on a lot of pages?
>>
>>5971225
Thankfully not, I just started bricklinking the UCS Y-wing piece by piece and made a huge order of a few sets. Anyone know if the canopy piece is printed or stickers on the Y-wing though?
>>
>>5971225

Are you using Chrome?
>>
>>5971232
Yessir.
>>
>>5971245

That's the problem then. Sometimes Bricklink doesn't work correctly on Chrome for some reason. You'll have to use Firefox for all your shopping needs.
>>
>>5971231
Stickers.

There's also some other stickers on it too.

Some people make replica stickers for old sets. You could take a look at those
>>
>>5971271
Yeah, I don't care enough, I'll just use a printed canopy from an old set instead, and I don't really need the information plack. Otherwise the stickers are really meaningless, just some yellow triangles on the nose.

>>

Really nice, especially the head design
>>
>>5971398
Is it inspired by the 2015 Creator set?
>>
>>5971395
Yeah, that's where i got the idea. My collection goal is to finish a necropolis army with its castle.

I am changing the dark gray and black parts only, other parts do nt even have a white alternative anyway.
>>
>>5971401
When I say that Heroes of Might and Magic IV is the best game in the series, will you get mad at me?
>>
>>5971400
Yes, my red dragon was lonely, so i made a black dragon and a bone dragon. I changed things around a bit each iteration to not bore myself.
>>
>>5971402
not really, it's not like you said 6 or 7.

they're too boxy, but i am fresh out of my dark age, those white legs with ball joints were more or less my only option. maybe i can experiment a bit with mixel joints, but i am not sure if they can carry the weight or not.

THE GREAT HALLOWEEN SPOOKY GIRL GIVEAWAY CONTEST!

Everyone in the Lego General has the chance to win their very own mint-in-bag Spooky Girl! Just make a Halloween-related MOC and take a picture of it (with timestamp) and post it in this thread along with an email. Once ten people have entered or the contest deadline hits, the one that makes me laugh the most will win a free Spooky Girl!

This contest is open to everyone in the world, but it ends at midnight on Sunday, October 23 to make sure the winner gets their Spooky Girl before Halloween!

Do you guys collect the minifigure series? I was at the lego store seeing a bunch of people feeling up the bags, desu it looks.

I'd probably just outright buy all the sets though.
>>
>>5971554
Its pretty much the same price or cheaper to just buy the ones you like through bricklink, but the gambling aspect can be fun
>>
>>5971394
>>5971396
Looks very cool.

Am I just a jerk for thinking it's cheating to use pre-molded parts (the feet)? I guess that's just me being old and feeling all get-off-my-lawn about exotic pieces like that.

When I used to play with Lego a lot, I would have made the dragon claw toes using sideways 1x2 plates.

Anyways, nice use of the pieces to put together a fun design!
>>
>>5971574
It's not cheating, but the legs do stand out from the rest of the build for bring so big. An easy way to build them out of smaller pieces would be to use 3 small horn pieces in the style of the smaller China sets
>>
Anyone Missing space themes? Ive been army building my Galaxy squad a fair bit to get on par with my Aliens,Blacktron and black hole gang!
>>

I mostly collect Star Wars but Galaxy Squad's good guy stuff makes me wet in the pants. Wishing Lego would release a new space theme.
>>
>>5971585
yep, i miss them. specifically, space themes where humans and aliens co-operated, themes like Life On Mars. but hey, nowadays i'd like pretty much ANY space theme to be honest.
>>
>>5971585

>>
>>5971442
My brother and I had a bunch. Rather than treat them like pilots or explorers, put them on all fours and made them out to be feral alien hordes.

Many a minifig army were wiped out in a futile last stand.
>>
>>5971602
>>
>>5971606

So I'm pretty new to mocing and stuff and have a question.
If you're buying recently used parts that aren't in too many sets what's the benefit of bricklink over bricks and pieces? Most of what I've done is ccbs and I've only bought one thing (a small promo set) on bricklink and nothing through bricks and pieces but I'm about to and it seems cheaper, faster, and more reliable, at least in theory.
>>
>>5971986
brick link has a feature where you can put in all the parts on a wishlist and how many you need of each, and then it will auto find the cheapest stores to get your parts at
idk about bricks and pieces though

digging the left building, especially that grill texture.

the right building borrows some standard techniques that they used on several modulars so far, namely the upside down quarter sphere and the tiles used in the walls.

maybe they are aiming for a set that recalls all 9 modulars so far? I can see GG in the left's window, CC in the left's decoration above the door, GE in the left roof, fire station in the right wall tiles.

As much as I dislike licensed stuff, it's nice that they can get Disney/ DC / etc. to foot the bill for producing new molds.

Not really. For example, the mold for the CMF14 Tiger Lady hair with ears was produced for the 1960s Batcave Catwoman. Almost all of the new molds that appear in CMF waves show up in licensed sets within a few months.

It seems like every once in a while, a toy company tries to engineer a disc-throwing arm that just doesn't work as advertised. Were/are Slizers any better?

They seem like they'd be just like all who've come before, just sort-of hucking the disk in a random direction, not actually making it skim through the air like it's supposed to.

The only toy I've ever seen that could fire a spinning, skimming disc correctly has been the Nerf disc shooters, but they don't use a swinging arm technology.

I just tried throwing a few disks with the Slizer arm and works just fine, it rotates around its center point and the flight is stable. But I agree on the aesthetic look, the Slizer throwing arm is sticking out of the set like a sore thumb. And the Kanoka disk launchers feel a bit clunky on small sets. Haven't seen the Nerf disc launchers so I can't really compare them to the rest.

Yeah, but DC and other companies don't pay Lego to make new molds. Lego pays for them themselves and offsets the price by including the accessories with the CMF's because they know that people will by the blind bags for $4.

When i was a wee lad, my family couldn't really afford lego prices, I had only 2 1500 piece megabloks buckets with only basic brics and plates (sx4,2x2,1x2 etc). Other than some lego polybags (newspaper gifts) and an parts from some old bootleg set i didn't even have any slopes or minifigs. I would build articulated dragons by side stacking bricks back then. I kinda see your point, but I am enjoying the cheats quite a lot right now.

>>5972353
my skellies are on their way, but i am afraid they're earmarked for the 7 stacks sandro would hide behind.

As for legs, i changed the front leg with some mixel stuff, worked out alright. My current solution for he backleg looks thin&bony enough, but it would severely limit posing options becouse the ball socket has to be attached to the body.

Ive been talking about, pointing people to and giving little reviews of the quality of bootlegs and bootlegs in general for the better part of over a yea in these generals, and honestly its only been the recent last couple months that people seem to have gotten a stick up their ass about them. IMO, once a set becomes discontinued and the aftermarket inflates the prices, its fair fucking game.

Lego wants companies like Lepin and Pogo to not knock their shit off? Rerelease some of these sets then.

Also, whether people like it or not, there are regions in the world where legit lego is so fucking expensive they would need to sell some organs for a 400 piece set. Again, fair game.

But I digress.

Review coming later on friendos.

>>5973560
look at the figure you want beforehand on BL or other site which shows you each part individually, then write a list or take pictures, so you have on hand an idea of what you're looking for
now, at the store, first feel the connecting pins on the legs and move them around so you can screen easily between a normal and a short figure, that should be a good head start
try to move the torso, head and stand away, since those are basically the same on almost (penguin kid or shark have fins for instance) every set
now focus on the VERY unique parts and be as specific with them as possible
for example, devil kid has helmet with horns and has the trident
wildlife photographer has the penguin and the camera
rogue has the bow and the quiver
cyborg chick has a gun, a little round plate, the little pins and a big ass armor
and so on, so really try to feel everything unusual, as best as you can, really really molest that thing
if you're not sure, set the bag aside, and maybe you can figure out what it is by ruling out others
finally, but most importantly, disregard what others might think while you fondle bags and don't rush it, take your time, if you rush it, you might end up with another wildlife photographer
also, if you're not a total retard and if there are any other people feeling bags, be nice and ask them what they've felt, maybe you can help each other out
I went for 7 figs a few days ago and got 100%
took my time, but got them all
hope it's helpful, although it sounds very obvious, it helps

It was just going to be a submarine but I liked the idea of bolting on wings to make an instant seaplane.
>>5974213
Thanks, I had an extra set through some Bricklink confusion and after much tinkering I settled on a sub, the other set was for a Spyrius cruiser.

The Spyrius cruiser just cuz. I had a lot of fun with designing them, might try and get those parts in the only other trans color available (neon-green) and have a go for a Blacktron ship or something.

It is slightly lame to kill a thread. It is even more lame to post KO to kill it.

Who gave that man the power to call for the thread's death? Each number is just as unique as every other post number.

Thanks man, hopefully I get that $25 promo and put it towards the leia in the deathstar.
>>
>>5974308
It's turbo-lame to complain that a new thread is created before the old one hits 150 images, which is what would happen if anon hadn't filled this one up.
>>
>>5975206
I would not have had to comment about the quantities of lame and therefore would not need an image to describe my content if other posters hadn't forced the issue.
>>
>>5975252
You're not the guy who spammed an entire thread's worth of Clickits to "teach someone a lesson", are you

I really want LEGO to get the Nick license back

Mostly because I know they'd improve on the piss poor Avatar minifgures.
>>
>>5974195
Someone must have to do it.
>>
Is the UK having supply issues for the 9th set of Mixels or something? I've still not managed to find -anywhere- selling them besides the lego site, and it says they're all on backorder.
