Anyone have any idea what the modular building is that's going to be shown next month?

Wonder if it's one of these fags.

Well son, the funny thing about regret is, it's better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you haven't done.

Yeah really, pic related was the only worthwhile tribe.
>>5966416
My favorite tribe was the Innuendoz
The Polz were good too
>>5966414
And by the way, if you see your mom this weekend, be sure and tell her SATAN SATAN SATAN!!!!!
>>5966405
Mixels could technically go on forever. There are plenty of eye prints and joints to make your own tribe and maxes.
>>5966433
Oh god I need a Happy Merchant™
>>5966405
I thought they were pretty bad initially but the later series were actually pretty good so i'm sad to see it go

I wish they'd done an Egyptian set. Like a sphinx, a mummy, and an anubis. That would have been sweet.
Viking set too.

>"First Lego store in Australia to be built at Gold Coast’s Dreamworld"
>"The flagship store will be the largest retail outlet at Dreamworld, covering an area of 350 square metres and forming a stand-alone precinct at the front of the park with access from within and external to Dreamworld."
>“The LEGO brand is one of the world’s best known, most successful and powerful brands and we’re very excited to welcome the LEGO Store as an exciting development for Dreamworld guests and for tourism to Australia and South East Queensland”
What the fuck? This was announced months ago, why haven't I heard about it before now? Have I just been living under a rock, or has this announcement really flown under the radar? Because this is kinda a big deal, Australia's first Lego Store, PaB wall and all. I'm fucking stoked.
>>5966737
hay that happen to me too
>>5966770
>Have I just been living under a rock
technically yes, I mean, it's Australia and Earth is just a big rock
>>5966431
I would have liked an "Anuz" character
>>5966821
True, but I meant more under a rock than normal. Like when it comes to opening up big new tourist attractions there's usually a lot more noise than what's been made about this one.
>>5966553
I'm curious to where you found this.
>>5966641
It's a deleted scene from The LEGO Movie. When Bad Cop says his scuba cops were looking for the piece of resistance at that very moment, it was supposed to cut to that. If you listen to the commentary for the movie, it is confirmed.
Made a quick ghost girl for that monstergirl series I'm doing.
Pretty happy with how that tail turned out, even if it's just a couple thighs linked together. Also decided to use one of Lingonkart's heads to change things up a bit.
>>5966770
Pretty sweet but I'm not too keen on paying admission just to buy some bricks. Hopefully they open up some more stores eventually around Brissy or Surfers
>>5966898
>I'm not too keen on paying admission just to buy some bricks
>>access from within and external to Dreamworld
I'm pretty sure what that means is that they won't charge you park entry fees to have access to the lego store. It would be a bad decision if they did make you pay the $90~ for a daily ticket just to buy lego. They'd lose a lot of potential customers.
But yeah I do hope that this store takes off and that encourages more stores to open up in other places.
>>5966898
>with access from within and external to Dreamworld
as if lego would let soemone else get money before they would
>>5966892
Cute!
If you're looking for suggestions, you should do a werewolf or a zombie next.
>>5966553
I wanted it to look decrepit with lots of holes for the dragons to fly in and out of, but I quickly realized how grandiose that was, the po lybag dragon barely fits.

I know it's heresy, but how is it the 4x4 single stud plate is the only one I can't find lots of on aliexpress? It would really expedite my Heroica moc building.
Also, any Heroica love? I just really like the scale and clever things they did for scenery in it. I wish the carrying case was better though.
>>5967233
Can you find lots of single pieces on AliExpress? How are you searching if so?
>>5967233
>Heroica
what's the best way to get all of the sets these days?
or should i buy one and expand using generic bits?
i just want to run d&d with it, really. i think it'd be easier to make maps at that scale than at full-minifigure.
>>5967233
Do you mean 2x2 jumper plate? There was a bin of tan ones at my local Lego store's Pick-A-Brick wall a couple of days ago.
>>5967252
You can just search for MOC, but if you can find one, you find them all with the similar items section. Like here:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Custom-Educational-building-block-Assembles-Particles-for-DIY-MOC-Brick-parts-Tile-2-x-4-with/32339629889.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.89.YfDSnr&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10065_10068_10067_10069_10017_10080_10082_10081_10060_10061_10062_10056_10055_10037_10054_10033_10059_10032_9914_10078_10079_10077_10073_10070_421_420_10052_10053_10050_10051,searchweb201603_3&btsid=b512049e-5297-4276-ae8e-7d584d4bc6f3

And this guy:
http://www.moc-pages.com/home.php/107796
Have some great examples of heroica mocs you could expand with.
>>5967256
And yeah, those guys. Forgot the actual name.
>>5967233
The jumpers that Heroica uses are cheap enough on bricklink. You should really just bite the bullet and get a few dozen. Personally I tried to keep the colors alternating in my builds, and that did require a minimum of 2 colors. As for builds, I basically stopped all my Heroica scale stuff because I had nobody to play with and the theme got canceled. If you post a few of your's I might be inspired to dig up the parts I have built. Microfigs are some of my favorite Lego men.
>>5967266
Actually all of my stuff is like 12 hours away at my parents house. And I never really did much beyond customizing the original sets.
I'm just getting the itch again and I think I've got some people around now that I could convince to play.
Anyone have the Porsche 911?
>>5967262
huh, ali isn't that much cheaper than bricklink for some of these. I thought they would be five cents or less per part.
you are tempting me to play heroica. that microscale seems perfect. small enough to be affordable, big enough for a creative techniques. dont want to reveal my powerlevel
>>5967282
It is on some stuff, but yeah, you gotta look at that price per brick. There's a lot of nice micro-scale stuff you can look at for inspiration. It also wouldn't be as intimidating to show to people. It would still look like a game board instead of "look at this gigantic lego set I designed don't judge me".
>>5966765
>tfw buy a UCS in store
they don't have big enough bags
>s16 hiker's map reads "greeble trail"

>>5967220
>The upside-down
*throws up a slug and panics*
>stopped getting Legos about 10 years ago
>see this and really want to buy even though it's $60
>love the way it's presented, having the Beatles in the Lego art style
So how can I get this? Wait till 3am on the lego store Web page or something? Or just get it when it's available in Target, Amazon, etc.
>>5967393
If you have to have it on the first day, then go for camping the website. If you just want to get your hands on it, I'd bet it will be around for at least 6 months. Just keep an eye out and you'll end up with one.
>>5967400
I remember seeing the Ghostbusters car and the BTTF DeLorean in stores and those were Lego ideas too. You think they'll be wide release like those at first? Sorry I'm a damn noob, I know it's cliché but I love the beatles and really want to get this.
>>5967393
I'm in this exact same boat, although i browse these threads because Legos never stop being fun to look at. I got not idea how to guarantee a purchase.
>>5967414
>not in the exact same submarine :^)
Anyways, I don't usually go on /toy/ but seeing the Yellow Sub made go like "we'll looks like I have to buy it even though Legos are fucking expensive" and I'm dying to know where I can get one to save up the money
>no white or blue astronaut microfig
there goes my space heroica idea
>>5967414
>>5967418
They MAY get sold out on the first day, but it's not very likely.
As for where to get one, Lego Shop@Home is probably your best bet. You may also get some free shit. They do that occasionally. Amazon will probably have it too.
But there's really no need to go mash F5 there a week before. There's plenty of those.
>>5967476
Alright thanks for the heads up, i'll keep checking amazon until the actual release day is then just hip up Lego's website the night it goes live
Has the snow globe promo confirmed for Europe yet? It's pretty cool, and the countdown set just doesn't do it for me.
We finally got the bus this month
>>5967476
Hopefully it's mass produced, the articles I'm reading is saying that it's a perfect christmas gift so I'm sure more people like myself who don't go on toy or even people that just think it looks cool want to get on it ASAP
>>5967492
It will be mass produced.
Hell, the original Ecto-1 is still being sold after all these years and even after the new version.
Ideas-sets will generally stay around for couple of years.
>>5967495
I bet that original Ecto will be discontinued either later this year or early next year. With the sub, there's 7 Ideas sets being sold at the same time, with Adventure time coming soon enough. They also have the firehouse and new Ecto, so the old one is clearly on its way out.

It's been six months since I was permanently baned from the local Lego Store.
My then-gf tried to shoplift.
>>5967700
Say sorry and call it unfair.
>>5967700
Why did you get banned too?
Hell, how do they even enforce it? Do they have pictures of all banned peoples faces and get some security guards to escort you out if you walk inside?
>>5967700
>six months
Doubt they would care that much or even recognize you
>>5967758
Hell, the guard's probably been rotated by now. Just don't bring your Ex.
Why can't I hold all these figs?!
Is it an illegal technique to sticK LEGOs Stickers on a piece, they aren't made for?
>>5967874
'Illegal' means 'prohibited by LEGO to use in sets'. Stickers in the sets go on the pieces they are made for by definition, so I don't think 'legality' even applies here.
It is (rightly) not considered to be a heresy. Many people here - like me - don't like stickers, though.
>>5967870
I've been thinking I should demolish my minifigure display and build a sort of a diorama here instead.
But then I don't know where I'd put these minifigures and most of all, what I would do with this B-wing!
>>5967874
"Illegal" just means "putting more stress on a piece than the recommended maximum level of stress".
I don't know about you, but if I was a Lego, I would be stressed about having the wrong sticker on me.
>>5967882
Sell it and buy a better UCS
>>5967887
I am going to buy the Sandcrawler either way. The B-wing is my second favorite (rebel) starfighter so I'm not going to get rid of it. It's fucking sweet.

Killing this general..
sorry for the long post guys...
I have been out of the loop for a long long time. I have been wondering if the mixles were a lego property first or if those shitty cartoon network shorts came first?
>>5967974
Lego had an idea for a line called "hungry monsters", I believe. They then asked Cartoon Network about making a tie in show. CN told Lego that it would be better if they rebranded it as mixels and from there they kinda worked on it together. I'm under the impression both companies own parts of mixels. 'First' is hard to pin down, but if I had to guess, I'd go with the toy being the first part.

where'd you get chief diamond phillips poncho, the trans bright green flower and the trans clear sphere thing?

The poncho is from a Dementor from the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban sets, the bright green thing (it's actually two pieces, kind of like a probe I think) is from the Insectoids line, and the trans clear sphere is actually a brain from the Scary Laboratory 1382 set if I remember correctly (same with Frankenstein, the mad scientist and that lab background).
Also still got my vampire with the cloak (which seems to be rare).

Hugebricks' boulder type cups are like 99% system and Technic, only the HF shell is actual CCBS material.
To be fair though the "best" lego cleavage has pretty much always been Bionicle/CCBS based. System doesn't lend itself to curves quite as well.
There are however ways to do good System tits or tit impressions if you're good with parts.

I got K-2SO today and he's stellar, except for one thing: his arm gimmick is awful. It makes his shoulders swing back and forth drunkenly, and I have to struggle to get them to stay forward or he looks like he's baring his chest/trying to pop his shoulders off. Has anyone figured out a way to disable the mechanism or re-engineer his shoulders yet?
I'm posting this here instead of the SWG because it's less about Star Wars and more about the Lego aspect of it.

>>5969469
Good for you!
It's going to take a while.
>>5969458
I think the problem is bigger than that. The inner mechanism is a set of floppy interlocking hinges with a "pin" going through the middle, and in step 28 you slip that ribbed piece over it which acts sort of like a compressing spring, triggering the punch gimmick. Even if I remove the spring part or replace it with one of those, the flop remains.

Those technic pins are the low-friction kind, equivalent of light gray ones in Lego sets.
Airtanks are in light bluish-gray. The guns are a slightly-lower-quality copy of Brickarms weapons.
Four neat grille bricks on the right
Color matching is spot on except for the yellow, it's a bit darker; hopefully the four plates at the bottom show it (Lego yellow and Lego bright-light-orange on the outside, Gudi pieces in the middle)
I threw a Lego figure in there for some reason. White visor is actual Lego, but brickforge also sells them in white and dark gray.

This photo offers a deep insight into the psyche of the artist; note the stark contrast between the kitsch textured wallpaper and poor lighting versus the seminal Technic model with non-stock luxury wheelz. See also the lack of sticker application not because the artist is cack-handed (their tiny turbos collection is stickered so perfectly as to make German designers cry), but because dat poor fucker cannot afford to have a load of decorated panels that will obviously look crap in the MOCs they will never make anyway

Quality of the bricks is equal to Lego. They fit Lego pieces perfectly.

>>5970436
I dont't know how they took the picture, but when you build it yourself, the "snowflakes" just sit in the bottom of the tub and they fly around if you shake the thing, so it's not really a snowglobe at all, in that sense.
>>5970436
I assumed the studs were just loose inside, so you shook it and they rattled around.
>>5970421
yeah, I think the pockets would be goners
I really do hate those curves on female figures for that reason
>>5970308
I got a good deal on it used and managed to get some extra soldiers with it. It is a little underemployed with figures. The castle itself is solid, the back towers are little funky with how the treasure rooms and throne room faces outwards. I modified mine a bit so the throne room points out to the courtyard.
I'll eventually wall up some of the holes and shift the floors around. Drawbridge and gate are a nice design.
>>5970414
very welcome!
second vehicle: kind of neat but very flimsy, it relies too much on clips to assemble the whole thing. Example, the engines are supposed to swivel up and down but they can barely hold up their own weight. On the other hand real Lego pieces wouldn't do any better here.

I did hear the king figure from that kingdoms set I was thinking of is top tier along with the other figs, really digging the armor and stuff on them compared to what was around when I was younger and how everything was pretty basic back then. The more mechanical apporach to stuff like drawbridgles and gates is so much better then just having a gate slot thing you would put a single piece to keep up on leo's castle I think it was, you know the one with the big plastic shell then held the for towers and main tower in the middle

the minifigs are step down from the rest of the set. The torsos have sharper edges than a Lego piece and the fit of parts could be better; the hands fit very tightly into the arms and something's off about the hip piece. The legs are bowed inward just enough to notice.
But printing seems to be good quality, and they came with light bley airtanks. Also with copies of Brickarms guns.

And if it doesn't the people there will give you better advice than 4chan, I don't even remember what procedure BL has for this sort of thing because my issues never went so far.
