It's a Japanime tan. Japs don't tan like real people, so it looks kind of like a mediocre spray tan. It looks pretty good if you're used to anime tans, but pretty horrible if you're not.

Keep in mind that I'm colorblind, but I love it with the gold/white color scheme.

They used new joints pi aproximately 0.1mm, so you need that sized plapipe + neck parts for MMS1st to transplant head for shinkis.

I've found the soft plastic of shinki hands seems to age badly, recently I gave a number of my shinki some Figma hands.

2.0 balljoints can fit both MMS1 and MMS3 shinki wrists, if it's loose you can put a thin clear coat of nail polish to tighten it up just a little.

I started building mine last week and was painting bronze highlights in her hair last night and...it looks like shit. She's going to sit in her box without arms and legs until I decide I will tone it down or remove it completely. I'll eventually do the underside of her hairpiece, but I just don't know, man. I sort of wanted to do an Arnval ombre with her hair (eventually fade to red), but I really butchered the execution by thinking metallic might make it look good.

I think my problem was the mixture was too thin, the pigment powder was not as fine as I had thought/wasn't enough pigment in my mixture. There was an original light brownish/orange base blush underneath the bronze, so I should have just left it at that. I used a 20/0 script liner, but got kinda Michael J. Fox in some areas and tried to compensate by adding more.

Baselard, and the other frame arms girls specifically, they don't require paint. All the parts are colored, but but it is just the bare plastic, so they look a lot better with paint. It seems like most Japanese kits that are not real military vehicles are done up like that now a days.

The gunpla guide should cover everything.

Personally I take all the parts off the sprue trees, clean them up, and paint base colors, any block out colors or before before assembly. Little gator clips on bamboo skewers are good for this. If I need to paint any gradients that cross part seams or weathering like big paint chips or washes then I will do that at a partial assembly stage. If you can use an air brush, do things in very thin layer, its the easiest way to get those really even finishes you see on the box art. But I know not everyone has one or wants one, you can still do amazing stuff with out it.

Honestly, Materia was my first FA:G. She wasn't hard. Even moving up to Stylet and then Baselard, they're not hard. Just follow the directions. Learn from the gunpla guide on some great tips.

The first kit you do will take the longest so that you can get a feel for how things work. The next kits go quicker. I'm not on the same level as >>5989855 apparently because I like to make sure my nubs are sanded down carefully and paint things.

The blade is bent almost at the tip, so it's got to be because of that. What's the purpose i have no idea but it must serve it.

Shinki masters, i've been contacted by a fellow Shinki master from Japan, he is working in a collaboration book with 2chan masters. He's been checking these general threads for a while now and really likes the content so he decided that the book could be a 2chan x 4chan collab.
