What a shit day.

Ok, today I received 2 packages, one is a SECOND delta magnus, I don't want it, but I contacted the seller anyway (I only paid for one and I'm a moral fag), still no response and if things don't go well It's going for auction.

The second is pic related, I suspect its a ko red alert, seller said its new, box was fucked in the pictures, I expected damage but what I got is a highly suspect ko.

Anyway the head hatch doesn't close properly, one of the telltale signs, the collectors card differs from all my others (including my suspect g2 sideswipe ko which is actually better quality), the front tires are more loose than a cheer leaders crotch socket preventing him from rolling properly, and the notch that holds the chest down in robot mode isn't shaped correctly preventing that from locking down

I got other pics if anyone wants to help me identify, my plan is to ask the seller *nicely* what my options are, though its not *exactly* like ko checklist are, the tampo of the bull emblem is ok, the "contach" is spelt correctly, though there is some overspray in other sections like on the windows

I was kinda fooled because (aside from box damage) the box didn't have obvious give away signs like poorly printed graphics though its kinda shinier than my other mp boxes.

How would you go about this anons, this seller charged me double the going ko price and its second hand in a damaged box listed as "new", should I ask for my initial $25 back (still more than a ko), discuss sending it back, or should I go for gold and ask for more money?

Because it ain't new (double taped), and the seller didn't specify if its a ko or legit
>>
>>5962297
So I was right, its plastic, and good plastic too.

Where did you get the foc thundercracker from anon and price?
>>
>>5962300
Yeah they're great. I'm impressed I managed to find Thundercracker at all considering he's an exclusive.
>>5962306
I got it from Robo robo in Singapore, it was the only one they had unfortunately.

Paid $45 SGD which translates to $32 USD. When you consider that it originally sold for around the same price back in 2013 this is a fucking steal.
>>
>>5962303
>should I ask for my initial $25 back (still more than a ko)
Go with this. Assuming that it's the same seller you got Delta Magnus 2 from, you can just say that the extra MP is your additional compensation.

I wish the delta magnus was part of this one but no its from another, actual company (premium collectables).

This red alert is from someone on ebay, its still a hit even with $25 off, but at least it helps.

I just emailed them asking my options, when they respond I'll either go with what they say or start with the $25 mark (unless, now that delta magnus is established as another seperate item, I should try to ask for more).

Its a shame they haven't left me feedback yet, could of gotten them reeling back hard but they're defensive, so I need to play nice

DSCN2271.jpg
780KB, 1600x1200px
Ok yeah this ko sucks.

Torso can't lost because the peg is too big for the massive chest peg (gonna have to carve up one and sand the other), the hand pegs are loose, the shoulder ports are loose, the arms and legs are tight at least but the left leg cover needs to be forced into its peg hole because it opens at an angle, also wheels can't roll because they're loose on the pins that mount them.

We make fun of hasbro and its qc, but ko's can be really good (my ko g2 sideswipe looks the part apart from his teeth) or utter crap, I hope that seller responds soon so I can decide to repair him myself or refund and just get the anime color version from premium collectables or something.

Its kinda depressing
>>
>>5962334
>>5962353
Brutal.
Sorry you got a bad roll anon, it's never a good feeling when you try to play it cheap and it gives you more headaches then if you went full price. Here's hoping the seller just gives you the money back and you can go from there.

Cheers.

I didn't do anything about the last ko I got because it did its job well, was still cheaper than this one, and never knew until later on (thought it was a qc thing), I should I just got my arse handed to me via mandarake and bought one of theirs.

Even a second hand smokescreen I got off them with a noticeable paint chip on the front bumper was better than this
>>
>>5962363
Just keep the Delta Magnus, the universe oddly compensated you for your KO experience
>>
>>5962371
Well if they don't reply in 24 hours I will.

...btw who wants my second delta magnus if that happens, if it was ultra magnus I'd keep it but I can't head cannon this
>>
If you wanna discuss KOs, discuss it in the KO thread

>>5955323
>>
>>5962375
Delta Magnus has no fiction, you can do whatever you want as far as head canon goes!

Maybe the Delta Magnus units are a special class of Cybertronian military drone of which Ultra Magnus was the best. Maybe they just happen to have the same body type and color scheme, and they end up messing up each other's lives sitcom style. Maybe they're brothers.
>>
>>5962382
Was mostly posting so anons get an idea between the 2 for the purposes of education and in no way advocating getting them over the originals.

But alright, I won't post them, because thats the third party general and I don't want to post there, into the trash my post go
>>
>>5962383
Well for my current one he's either optimus prime's upgrade or ultra magnus upgraded, kinda like armada starscream getting a new paintjob.

Not really much to say really, I'll keep it brief, might as well prolong life of the thread for once.

http://bbs.actoys.net/read.php?tid-2419901.html

The YES MODEL thundercracker (and skywarp, starscream and the others will come eventually) are packed in a plain packaging in a layout similar to the hasbro version (to the right), it comes with a plain stand (no name bar) and a orange clear rod bit, from what I hear they're comparable to the hasbro seekers, apart from takara based color scheme.

No tampo wings but you get stickers, looking at the other images the sprues are cut more nicely too (watching early adopters of the TT thundercracker they kept posting pics of the rough sprue cuts, clearly not happy).

I would always support takara versions or even hasbro (being a seeker fan) but since they're made in limited numbers why pay 3-400+ for someone else's seeker, if someone wants to take a risk of getting a floppy no branded seeker go ahead, least it'l look like a good f15

Post Transformers collection.
>>
>>5962409
Sorta, there are "branded" ko's which I appreciate, they warn you of their product and are always cheaper on average, these can be considered 3p, but sometimes its good to discuss, some of these are retooled or sold off as the real deal.

Then you get the fakes, the ones that only diehard collectors will know and leave you reeling, ko talk for the purpose of education is good.

>>5962411
Instead of posting multiple images just a link, one image, and then people can ignore as they please.

The fact you responded shows you have an interest, an interest in hating.

The post going on right now are different, on one side we got someone who got dudded with a fake and only knew when researched, might be looking for options on what to do, since said fixes sometimes apply to the real things, so its helpful, sometimes some anons want cheap plastic and we're giving them an option, for outdated molds I see little harm other than keeping the manufacture alive.

Then we get simple educational post, comparing the 2, this isn't as bad as some people who glorify ko's to be utter perfection (although frighteningly enough, with mpp10 and its massive size, ko tracks and his rubber tires, and some ko mp10's having more paint than the actual takara releases its kinda scary).

Therefore, I perfectly understand your hatred for ko's, but we can't pretend they don't exist, people will drift towards ko's one way (by accident) or another (on purpose for army building/poorfag), least we can give them some warning before hand.

They're also teasing that they might release some new promotional stuff out tomorrow on social media. Not sure if it's going to be new character concepts, a teaser trailer or maybe just a short video showing the production from start to finish, as they're already done with filming the present day scenes.

Maybe its autism, but there are telltale signs, have skullcruncher(s) (since it is mine).

No faction logo on head is takara, half way painted cockpit hatch exposing semi clear red plastic is takara, claws ion glaring white is also takara (hasbro uses an offwhite), a more obvious difference would be the side tampo print (you can't see here only because it wasn't viable in my first picture but the takara one has just the faction logo, not the whole side with the silver sticker imitation tampo).

For hard head its that grey/brown bit, hasbro hardhead has it painted a bit further making it look like a screaming face while takara doesn't paint as far, also a subtle different in his shade of plastic green.

Only a diehard/owner/autist can spot these from poor lighting.

Also don't mind the arms on the half of my hasbro skullmasher, its a custom for my megaaligator, not even gonna bother doing the main chest or the head since the spray can I had on hand comes close, just arms and legs
>>
>>5962454
Not really. I'd have to compare the two decos to tell, and the brown could look darker for the lighting.

Happy now or are you gonna cry because I got an optimus who turns into a t-rex, cost me half of what titan returns cost due to a blunder by staff, and has no qc issues unlike my skullcruncher who I've taken to repaint?

Made by hasbro as well, honestly there is no pleasing people these days, can't we spend money as we wish, I can understand if its your money, and yes I earnt this money, I don't live off neetbux so I'm not taking your hard earned money.

>>5962468
Not on initial glance, you gotta remember anon, these are toys, only collectors/autist are so strict on deco differences, this isn't like the night and day difference with scourge and blurr here.

If the heads were in shot, then yes, obvious, but they weren't, to deliberately avoid this kinda shitposting just because some people have different taste.

I suppose after no other 3P companies want to make Bayformers, these guys come in with the molds they got left with by Hasbro and start tweaking the shit out of them and then selling them for a Leader class's price.

The Optimus Prime is great, they even got the wheels up his leg and has removable faceplate, ion cannon and the DOTM weapons.

Get some good voice actors to provide new dialogue and we're golden.

Movie 1 would have an interchangeable unit of Autobots work together with Sector Seven/NEST to extract mystical robotic artifacts and fend off against a handful of Decepticons.

Movie two would reveal that Cybertronians have been interacting with Earth throughout the planet's history, with triple-changer Megatron mediating between the Fallen and Sentinel Prime. The Autobots commune with the Primes and they assist by bringing back the Dinobots. And then they fight and shit I guess.

Man, you don't need to remove the inner spiderleg pins, just split apart, turn around the center pieces, abdomen and neck and put everything back together, removing the spider legs isn't worth it, too much risk to "hide" the hollow spider legs side in beast mode. plus if yoo have an Animated BA yo could just switch the chest pieces and save a lot of time getting metalic bronze spider legs as bonus.
>>
>>5962993
Not him, but I've avoided modding my BA because I hate removing pins. Are you saying you can fix the neck without removing *any* pins and the only downside is that the hollow side of the spider legs faces up in spider mode?
>>
>>5962993
Yeah fuck it, I'm still not getting any further on this.

I'm gonna try that and see what it looks like, this mod isn't worth risking breaking an expensive toy.

Hell, even just plugging her shitty weapon into her back holder allieviates the hole problem enough for me.
>>
>>5962975
The neck is way too long too. So much for TAKARA WINS AGAIN.
>>
>>5963015
In this case there wasn't a domestic one to compare it to.
>>
What are examples of great pre-Generations Universe/Classic figures?
>>
I kind of think the misassembly on BA was intentional.

If you can look past the tracheotomy hole and try to ignore it as a flaw, then if you complete the fix, her chestpiece slides up high enough to make the breasts appear unnaturally high on her chest, where as out of the box the chest piece can't go high enough to make the breasts go higher than they should. (this is basing her appearance off of a realistic woman's anatomy, of course)

And on top of that, in the original BA animated mold, her pedipalps folded into her midsection after the chestplate was pushed up all the way to fill out her midsection. On a fixed version of the LG BA mold, there's nothing to fill out the midsection after the chestpiece is fully transformed, because the pedipalps are now boobs, and she's like a twig. Whereas on an unfixed version, her breasts' balljoints are large enough and shaped as such to pretty much suffice in filling out the midsection. when pushed up as far as they go.

In the end though I suppose you just have decide between a twig waist or a neck hole.
>>
>>5963025
I'm unfamiliar with the "misassembly". What's up with the figure?

The main two torso pieces that the arms peg into are swapped from how they're supposed to go on the original version of this mold, making it so that the chestpiece can't slide up all the way and hide the neckhole, and also makes it impossible to "properly" transform her into the spider mode.
>>
>>5963023
Tankor/Octane's pretty nice.
>>
>>5963028
The side halves of her chest are swapped. This makes it so that her spider head can't come up as far as on the Animated version. This leaves her chest a bit low, but more importantly a gap between her chest and neck region. As >>5963025 said, it could have been intentional as the new pedipalps are meant to be breasts rather than waist-filler. Either way, you can do the fix relatively easy if you'd rather change it.

>>

>>
>>5963168
I think they could very easily have a re-tool or pretool of either character.

Just have a simple bodyshape that's part superfortress and part attach chopper, have longer wings for lugnut and shorter wings for blackout and leave some way of attaching helicopter blades to to the top for Blackout. Their designs are so similar honestly that I used to think they were the same character.

That's always been a complaint for me as well, the robots are made of butter in the later movies and break apart if whack them with a stick.

In the first film they did a pretty good job at displaying the decepticons as a threat that only autobots can stop. When Blackout took out that military base in the intro, bullets and rockets were practically bouncing off him. Pretty much the only time I can recall in the first film where Humans "won" against a cybertronian was when they captured Bee, and that was pretty much because he wouldn't fight back.

So I'm that posted about my ko experience, so I got back from the seller, he claims he bought it from a japanese seller himself and is basically selling it for 75% of what he initially paid for, but clearly demonstrated he had no knowledge of the toy and its authenticity or even what a ko is (and apparently the link to tfw I sent didn't work).

He's agreed to a refund but it was phrased like I'm meant to do the refund myself, so I just asked him how shall we do this and what am I to do with it.

Sending it back is an option but the postage will set me back, gotta play carefully before I unleash the bombshell of a request, they're polite, but not willing to trigger them too much, I kinda want something out of this.

Apparently the generations one's a fit right on it and don't really change the transformation if you want some wrist swivel. I just don't like her head at all; her eyes are too close together I think.

So apparently no versions of Fort Max are decent. All have some crazy issues. Actually, the standard Hasbro one seems the safest bet - yet also the most boring.

Basically yeah. Get the hasbro version and try to find a PE sword that isn't overpriced on ebay.

Not one of the usual drawfags but I'm bored as fuck so I might take a few requests if anyone has any.
Just been sketching some robutts on breaks at college the past week or two after a few years away from drawing.

Finally got him out as well and I really do like it and I was checking for any possible QC with the hinge and mine has no stress marks or cracks. There is only one small paint blemish on the side of his cheek with that red paint that I can just scratch off but other than that, he is all good and the mini Harambe is also really well painted.

Dad gave me this book as a birthday gift. Holy shit it's dope, I just wish I could read moon runes. Anyone know the name of this book? It has every figure from Diaclone up through the end of the G1 animes, then it has a character model for every single character, plus concept art.

>>
>>5963969

>>
>>5963942
Well it literally says Transformers Generation. It's a book series that they release every year and it has some different variation. I got the 2015 version, what you got is the one from 2000 but I don't know why it has all the list of every toy out. Usually the Generations book only has the ones from the year before and the current year as a catalog. But you can buy a toy catalog that has everything from diaclone to 2015 in Amazon in English but I forgot the actual name of that bible.
>>
>>5963983
It's not from the year 2000, it's saying it has over 2000 entries
>>
>>5963989
I just realized that after posting it, my moon is not as good as it used to be. But Transformers Generation book series are still a thing so that's probably the old catalog release.
>>

I managed to (by pure luck) find one in one of the toy shops at Plaza Sing. Lucky me
>>
>>5964020
Guess they parallel imported the wave from HK. Hope it didn't cost too much, the plaza sing shops don't sell cheap.
>>
>>5964024
It was expensive as hell unfortunately but I was desperate to get one at all, considering every other Motormaster I've seen has been the 2014 ver. with the shitty hips.
>>
>>5964031
Btw, if you're feeling adventurous you may want to check out Carousell ( SG's Craigslist) since that is where most of the toy aftermarket is and also where most of the online based dealers are. It might be a pain to setup a meeting but some dealers have physical shops hidden somewhere or have a stall at CSC's flea market. Beware of shitty sellers though.
>>
>>5964036
Not sure if I have the time to do that, I may just stick to going to various collector shops and whatnot, as well as CSC this Sunday.

If I was staying for longer I'd definitely try that though.

On the topic of CSC, what do you think are the chances of me finding CW Wave 1 there? I missed out on the whole line but that's the only wave I'm having problems trying to find.
>>
>>5964047

If you're looking for a certain combiner, it's probably cheaper to buy the UW for it if it's Superion/Menasor/Defensor these days.
>>
>>5964048
UW Superion and Menasor look terrible imo, especially Drag "unpainted yellow plastic" Strip.

I'm willing to shell out latecomer's tax but I'm having problems even finding the wave. Oddly enough I can get W2 with ease.
>>
>>5964031
I got the regular version with the shitty ratchet and he's fine, then again I have the PE torso set so that articulation has been taken out from the equation so I don't even need that part at all.
>>
>>5964054
The (autistic) thing about me and Combiners is that I like switching them from gestalt to individual modes quite often. The shitty hip ratchets would mean that Motormaster would look quite unsightly when split from the rest of his team.
>>
>>5964056
Not really, he is fine after you plant his feet on the straight down click since the legs themselves has a lot of play to them. I've had mine since he came out on the shelves that's why I was just fine with it. If I wanted to fix it I would have gotten a nonnef ratchet but I just decided not to since I would just put him in combined mode and just forget about him on my shelf.
>>
Anyone got any experience with CHUG Rhinox? Mine's got loose as fuck leg joints. Need to tighten them somehow. Any tips?
>>
>>5963487
Account?
>>
>>5964062
The loose legs are a common issue, so there probably is a fix somewhere that somebody came up with. Pity since he's an amazing toy otherwise.
>>
>>5964047
>CSC
It'll be hard. CSC don't deal with Hasbro TFs much. If you do find some sets there it won't be cheap. Though, if you're lucky you might find complete loose sets in the consignment cabinets there, they are from collectors offloading their stuff.

Utoys from CSC have moved across the street to Fook Hai Building level two, you might want to check his consignment cabinets too. They have full loose collections from his customers.
>>
>>5964085
Fuck. Do you know anywhere else that I could possibly try?
>>
>>5964096
Carousell is easiest place to find but there are many BUTs. (Alpha Bravo/Slugslinger, superions with dragstrip/deadend, shitty prices, well-used by kids, can't meet in town, etc.,)

Simply toys chains may have them at full msrp.
