Rumors of online retailers getting cases of just Deadpool and Wolverine in the not-so-distant future.
>>
>>5959616
Never. No Milligan X-Force, no X-Statix.
Stop it.
>>
>>5959929
Dead Girl MIGHT happen. Basically a filler figure for an assortment that can be made cheap and tossed in at the last minute when they can't think of another character to include in a wave.

Of the Milligan X-Force, Dead Girl, U-Go Girl, the black guy who sweats acid and Orphan are the most likely to be made and outside of Orphan, would only require Hasbro making a new head and simply slapping paint on an existing buck.

Was the Space Venom wave a store exclusive? I never saw it anywhere.
>>
>>5960024
It's supposed to be everywhere but stores are getting choked by Absorbing man still, I did see a lone Hobgoblin at TRU though.

Hell at my store I ordered a case and still ended up getting absorbing man.
>>
>>5960087
Ok. I've been seeing the X-Men and Doctor Strange waves, but never this one.
>>
>>5960092
The Spider-Man waves are interconnected, so if the shelf is full of Speed Demons, Beetles, Jack O' Lanterns, and Morbius, the store will be unlikely to order a new case, and even if they did there's no guarantee they'd get the Space Venom wave in.
>>
>>5960103
Well, that is definitely a good reason then. Pretty much everywhere near me has a couple of Beetles and Speed Demons.
>>
>>5960123
Whenever my Marvel display at my store is set to end, I'm gonna have the great Speed Demon/Jack O' Lantern/Red Guardian/Captain America purge.

I dont remember this being the case back when I collected the toybiz line.

I don't know if I'm more angry at the stores for not having a god damn clearance isle to get those figures pulled from the main shelf space, or Hasbro for putting so many mildly wanted figures in a single wave, or crappy unwanted figures in general, that fucking Black Series Constable whatever is clogging up every shelf of every store in my area. why did they think anyone would want a figure of that guy?
>>
>>5960024

Anyone know if Black Series Kylo Ren's hand pegs would work for Black Panther?

I'm thinking of using BP as a base for my upcoming custom but I need black gripping hands and Kylo's is one of the only ones that Hasbro has seemingly produced that looks remotely decent while being molded in black.

Has anyone tried it?

They should, but since you're already modding, you might as well consider shaving down the pegs if they're to large. Just keep in mind that Kylo's hands are made to look like his sleeves cover they nearly to the knuckle.

Yeah I'm fine with that since the character I'm making kind of has lines on his hands anyway, so Kylo's hands are pretty ideal for the custom I need.

Well thanks for the advice, hopefully I shouldn't have to shave the pegs too much.

What a faggot. Sounds like you should only buy what's trending on whatever is the edgy opposite of tweeter and tumbler.

For me, i could couldn't care less about what the publisher is doing. In fact, DC's evacuating of it's bowels for the past 6 years or so turned me off to everything new DC (until a couple months ago anyway), yet i continued buying trades for classic 70s, 80s, 90s, and even 00s storylines they'd release in trade form every month. And DCC was still releasing a lot of great figures based on current and classic cartoons, and some older comics.
Of course, i would still buy cool toy designs from the newer comics, even if the comics themselves were terribad.

>>
>>5964756
No. TF collectors still hold that title. Trust someone who used to frequent TFW2005 often. MLs have nothing on their level of autism. They're literally never happy and ever since Hasbro stopped giving a shit about them they started going in denial and banishing anyone from their threads who present constructive criticism. At least with ML collectors they can admit when Hasbro makes a shitty figure without being personally offended.

Also, a good number of them genuinely enjoyed the Michael Bay movies.
>>
>>5964768
Also, when I said banished from threads I meant here on /toy/, not TFW. TFW is still pretty bad though. So many users there who contribute nothing of any substance to discussions but have 1000s of posts. If you're not in the "in crowd" or buddy buddy with the mods all your posts go unnoticed even if it's something worthy of responding to.

Also, TF fans are super clingy I've noticed. Not going to speculate why but I'll leave it up to you to figure out.

This guy has the right idea.

It's also worth noting that rare MOSC figures are only rare because they're scarce, and the figures inside are desirable even without their packaging. If everybody and their dog is hoarding sealed copies for resale, then they'll never be rare for being sealed. And if the figures ever stop being desirable through obsolescence, they'll just be flea market fodder like the majority of 90's Marvel and Star Wars.

Agreed, that head is amazing.
>>
>>5964805
Exactly. I think that's one of the things that made Cable so good. Just being able to move his torso laterally makes a big difference, and is one of the things that I like about Black Series figures, even with some of their other shortcomings.
>>
>>5965141
I really wish this was standard as opossed to the horrible looking ab crunch they have going on with most figures.
>>
>>5965198
I wish they'd do what DC Icons does and have a crunch at the waist with lateral movement at the chest. The Icons line has plenty of shortcomings, but that's something I think they did right.
>>
>>5965242
That's something they did sort of half-assed. The Icons line does have shortcomings, and the torso scheme is really cool, but not well-implemented. If those two joints had just a little more range in either direction, I'd completely forgive the hips, elbows, and neck. The new 12" Marvel Legends have that exact same scheme built into them, and I'm curious of how well it works.

And speaking of diaphragm joints, I noticed that Nico Minoru doesn't do anything but twist. I guess that's a nod to the corset, but it's annoying.

Couple that with the skirt limiting hip movement, and you've got a figure that stays vertical. Otherwise, she's kind of cool. These guys are going to get so much pussy in heaven
>>
>>5964794

I have a friend who collects very few figures and each one he keeps in package and notes their value. I always say though "if you buy it because it has value, why not buy stock or gold?" I mean obviously he buys marvel selects, cause he like marvel and those characters.

I mean, I guess its just a different mentality, but if I couldn't pose the toys and have them interact with other figures, I would not bother. I don't care if they're "worth something some day" they're worth something to me now.
>>
>>5964699
>>5964700

I like those shelves, but I hate the sideways packaging...that seems to ruin the whole...feel. It's no fun.
>>
>>5965535
Some of them are. I liked how the Encore boxes looked so I have a few doubles boxed. A few are also signed by voice actors. There is a growing pile of stuff I just haven't gotten around to opening though.

The thing is, if you ever collect alot of toys, and decide you need to get rid of a few for whatever reason, the opened stuff only goes for pennies on the dollar no matter what shape it's in. It's not like when I first started collecting and stuff that was taken care of commanded a premium. So often when a preorder finally comes in, I kind of freeze and put it off. Do I really want to keep this forever? Because it'll go for 99 cents on eBay if I don't.

I wish they'd tried harder to make her facesculpt actually look Asian. The ML could definitely pass as a gothy white girl.

Y'know...I really, really love Yamaguchi's style actually. I love how his sculpts naturally fall into these hunched, super-compressed poses, and I love the front-mounted throat joints so the necks can get super crane-y. This is not working for me though. Something just looks really off about the whole neck and head area. Actually, I think the headsculpt looks bad in general. Too small and compressed and weird.

This seems to pose really nicely, but this might be the first time I really disliked a Yamaguchi sculpt completely. I won't even start in on the bizarre knee cuts.
>>

You sure about that homie? I'm looking across my collection right now and pretty much everything I'm seeing has better blended knees than these severe straight-across cuts that were obviously meant to interlock when the knee is straight. It's like the only thing they considered was a nice uniform sculpt when the leg was straight...aka the laziest kind of jointing possible. "yep, just cut the leg in two and shove a joint in there! nah, we don't need to clean it up or anything."

To be fair, like 75% of my Revo collection is mecha, many of which automatically have better blended/hidden knees, but my point stands. None of my humans are this bad.
>>
>>5967121
What I think I hate most about the Revo's design is the boots. They taper out so that the point they meet the rest of the leg is wider than the part of the leg it connects with. I guess this is to give it more posability, but is that really a point of articulation it needed?
>>

There's really no way to smooth it out and keep the exaggerated musculature. The joint is set pre-bent to ensure a full 180 degree range of motion, something a lot of similar joint designs can't achieve. I made a shitty doodle to try and show what I mean

It's the same situation with the elbows on a lot of his figures, but no one's ever complained about those
>>
>>5967213
Sure there is! Let's take a look at Revo Kinnikuman, who is even more musclebound than Spidey! Take note of how the sculpt is softened and blended around the knee and elbow cuts, and how the joint isn't set too deeply back. This gives a more natural look, and avoids that steep drop-off and big flat surface we're seeing on Spidey's knees. Or for an alternate solution, look at what they did with say, Snake, or Deadpool. The poseable kneepads on those figures could easily have been swapped out for a sculpted kneeCAP that helps hide the joint, like many other toylines are doing. Or shit, just use a Revo double joint and you'll have even MORE room to prettify the sculpt. That last one isn't my favorite option, as I think revo double joints are a bit too flimsy for knees, but it is an option. Saying "there's really no way to smooth out the sculpt" is ludicrous.
>>
>>5967241
Range of motion isn't as good on those though, doesn't bend back as far as we've seen Spidey's go.

A faux knee pad could've worked, but it might've looked even more odd, who knows.
>>

I wish they based the figure on any actual Runaways comic version. Why they chose her Avengers Arena appearance of all things I'll never know. I mean, I like the figure well enough for what it is and the outfit's fine, but it's by far the worst book she or Chase have ever been involved in.

A figure based on her Runaways appearance would also be easier to fit in with a Runaways setup if they ever end up releasing figures of the rest of the team. If they do it now it'll be all the classic Runaways plus modern Nico Minoru, since she's definitely not getting another figure any time soon, if ever.

Decided to watch one of Anthony's reviews to see if he's gotten any better and in the first 10 seconds of the video he says he doesn't remember the name of the character he's reviewing. Is he seriously that lazy and uncaring to check the fucking character name before reviewing it?
>>
>>5973234
It's right there in the video title, what difference does it make? He's not interested in these figures, he's just reviewing them on an objective level in terms of technical execution.

Most his reviews are done at the end of the day after he has done all his other important shit. He isn't some professional kiss ass reviewer doing this to get free shit from companies by shilling crap.
>>
>>5973234
Stop watching anthony, period. He's a lazy asshole that sucks at everything he attempts to do on his channel. He's also hypocritical af and displays huge bias in a lot of reviews.

>>5973262
Go away Anthony
>>
>>5973234
I miss Glenn.
>>
>>5973262
Not op but where else is this ok, if someone was reviewing Doctor Strange movie and couldn't even remember the name of the fucking movie they are reviewing they would be a bad reviewer.

Sorry but he is shit, not objectively shit, just shit.

>>5971902
I've been scouring the local walmarts and toysrus for this guy, I love Iron fist and ive been looking for a good figure that didn't have shoulders that looked like chicken legs or the lame white costume.
>>
>>5973262
>how to suck someone's dick: the post
>>
>>5972337
Jack Kirby Fantastic 4 wave WHENNN
>>
>>5973262
Stop making excuses. Dude is a lazy hack. You don't have to be a "professional" to actually care about your work and putting out a decent project.

Also, he probably gets some money from his vids, so he has even less of an excuse for making a shit product.
>>
OK, so did ANYONE get a dormammu with properly working legs? The left one on mine, (and a lot of others from what I've heard) doesn't actually go in all the way and pops out all the fucking time. I even heated it the first time I popped it on, and it's still being a piece of shit.
>>
>>5973262
Like Shartimus?

GET YOUR BIG BIG BIG
>>
>>5973318
This figure has a lot of paint flaws, marbleized plastic, lack of articulation, and a broken foot but these are all small flaws that I can live with. Its an absolutely amazing figure, thank you so much Hasbro for making it!
>>
>>5973305

I could seriously get into artist renditions of Marvel Legends like DC Collectibles does. Hell, I'd even buy out of scale Marvel Selects if they fell into this line of thinking. Jack Kirby FF, Art Adams ANYTHING, Neal Adams Avengers, Jim Lee X-Men, Ditko Spider-Man, Romita Spider-Man, Buscema Hulk, the list can go on and on.
>>
>>5973262
hi anthony
>>
>>5973283
me too anon...
>>
>>5973351
Have you seen his collection videos? At this point it's sunken cost fallacy. He needs to justify his HUGE fucking collection and display by continuing to buy them even if he knows deep down they are shit-tier. You can tell because he's way happier when he reviews something with actual quality.

He tries to downplay his disappointment a lot though to continue getting free shit. So he will say "that kind of annoys me but what are you going to do" or something like that.
>>
Have you ever spent more than retail on a figure? I only did once, and that was Legends Carnage. I felt stupid paying $35 for a $20 figure but I couldn't find one anywhere.
>>
>>5973467
a plan on it with a few perhaps... such as pizza spider-man

was able to pick up all of my current collection shopping around stores, such as Deadpool, Wolverine, and Rogue all for MSRP.
>>
>>5973467

Bought Rocket Raccoon wave Jean Grey for $40 a few weeks ago
>>
>>5973467
My biggest shames are probably jubilee wave storm and sdcc luke cage. I think the worst non-exclusive I can think of recently was 27 for silk. I've probably overpaid on a couple loose BAFs, but it's harder to say what's high for those as it's almost entirely demmand driven.
>>
>>5973467
I paid 30 for a epic heros doom
>>
>>5973474
Does she have ankle rockers? I have no idea when they started implementing those.
>>
>>5973487
Did you pay 27 for silk or was it more like me where I paid 27 but that included tax and shipping?
>>
So uh, Marvel Legends "Good Boy" when?
>>
>>5973767
27 shipped off ebay, but it was loose, and then I ended up buying the baf seperately, so it feels like an extra waste of money.
>>
>>5973467
I bought a Pizza Spider-Man for like $35.

Worst part is it was my second Pizza Spider-Man. I fucked up the left leg on my first one, which I got for around MSRP, trying to mod the hips with no prior figure customizing experience and it didn't go well.

Aside from that I paid like $24 for a red Hobgoblin wave Daredevil, which is still pretty good.
>>
>>5973375
What if Marvel started releasing figures based on art styles but the first one announced and only one released was Unbeatable Squirrel Girl?
>>
In my journey of trying to get rid of my remaining Rhino wave figures, I sold a Scarlet Spider at 13.99, a Scarlet Spider at 9.99, and a Scarlet Spider and two White Tigers at 7.49.

I still have 2 Misty Knights left at 7.49, that bitch will not sell.
>>
It's so weird when you wait for certain figures to come down but they never do. I wanted a rhino wave spider-carnage, but I figured it'd end up shelfwarming due to being two to a case and I could pick one up for ~ten bucks eventually.
>>
>>5973493
classy fuckin pick
>>
>>5973467
For Marvel Legends? God, no.

>>5973493
I didn't realize that that one was up there in price. Maybe I should sell mine before Hasbro makes a new one.

Flat Man is already made. Squirrel Girl will for sure get a figure. You might have to customize the rest.
>>
>>5974263
Am I stealing if I copy this?
>>
>>5974128
well those are highly sought after in that wave.
>>
>>5974591
Yes

Do the shoulders on anyone else's BAF Hulkbuster grind and creak really badly?

Is it possible to disassemble him?

I need help guys, my iron fist left shoulder butterfly joint is stuck, it moves, but it automatically get back in place... how can I fix it?
>>
>>5975052
There might be some plastic blocking the potential movement and forcing it back. Otherwise there might not be enough room to move in the joint so you might need to cut some. These are potential reasons but I'd have to see the joint itself to know how to fix it.
>>
>>5975057
Do you have a pizza spider? it's the same mold
>>
>>5975059
No I know, but mine have no issue. I'd have to see yours to see specifically why it's doing what it's doing.
>>
>>5974128
go to wal mart
>>
>>5975071
Is there any way I can disassemble it?
>>
>>5975122
Heat. The butterfly joints are the same plastic material as the limbs, i.e. it can become pliable under heat. So you could heat it and pop it from the hard plastic torso, but be careful not to shear anything. And you might have a devil of a time getting it back in.
>>
>>5971909
Ordering online from the states. It's convenient because I'm right near the border. If I can get free shipping and get each figure for only $20, I'm still getting it cheaper than I would pay in store.
>>
I can't believe I found Wanda in person yesterday. I'm so stoked to get her out and posed.
>>
>>5973467

Ah crap I forgot I need to get Stryfe. I'll be paying over retail for him. That wave was shit for distribution. I could care less for the rest of the wave but he was the one of the bigger X-villains back in the day so I still need to get him.
>>
>>5975166
i will try it anon, thanks for the tips!
