Yes, the eyes are noticeably different with the Walmart version's eyes being solid black and the normal version having more detailed eyes. (having both iris and pupil)

You can't tell from the the box, but the standard version also has grey paint behind the tentacles, while the Walmart version does not. Ironically the Walmart version is more expensive, (than target) yet it's less detailed.

If you already bought the Walmart one (I did) It's not that big a deal, but If you haven't and are looking for a squid, I suggest getting the standard release.

He's not wrong though. The World of Nintendo line can be best summed up as "better than nothing". So many mediocre and low quality efforts eclipse the better offerings of the line. Distribution is still a big issue, and scalping makes it even less encouraging to dive in.

Of the 6 figures I've bought, I can say Bowser Jr is the best one. Diddy Kong is a close second, but his awkward and slanted joints limit his poses. Fox and Falco are stiffs that can't do much beyond stand up. Sheik is hampered by hard plastic cloth and Peach absolutely blows.

I still don't know why Slippy's so poorly done, Peppy's definitely better sculpted even if his knees only get maybe a 20 degree swing at their best spots. Plus I feel more satisfied for the cube than the Bomb token, though I would have definitely preferred 2 more miniature ships to complete the group, or better yet some holdable, useful accessories.

However, Slippy's sloppy sculpting is thankfully not Peppy's problem, so you don't get more range in one side than the other and his waist joint is horizontal.

Figma Phoenix is the original design, not the 3DS one. He never closed the eyes while embarassed in the GBA/DS games, just blinked like in any other sprite.

Not like I care, I pre-ordered it nonetheless. Not a stellar figma in any way, but it's an articulated Phoenix and I need him in my collection.
