I really don't think these are worth the trouble, man. They really botched it with having such hard plastic with their outfits that it's hindering their articulation, it looks like they can barely bring their arms forward at all.

A less firm kind of plastic or interchangeable piece should have been used instead.

Cultural trivia, technically both of you are right. In one of the earlier 3D MK games, I think it was 4, it was possible to swap the skin of the regular character for a bloodied fatality victim. All else remained the same, abilities, combos and such,

Due popularity (playing with a skinless, blood dripping skeleton seems to be tons of fun), eventually they turned him into a full character called meat.

Although the characters have faded into obscurity in later games, there're still people working on mods to include him back in MKX.
