If Bandai is smart enough, they'd use this as an opportunity to relaunch Sentai figuarts, with a focus on Power rangers. Specifically the more popular rangers and teams, like In Space, RPM, and the like.

It's going to be like the Michael Bay TMNT movies. Lots of eye candy VFX but none of the soul of what made Power Rangers popular in the first place. Kids aren't going to like it, and fans of the original are going to hate it. But it will still make enough money to garner a sequel. I'm still going to see it in hopes that the Megazord battle will be similar to Pacific Rim. I'd be pissed if it only last a couple minutes at the end of the movie.

There are plenty of ways you could design a suit without the need for a giant glowing chest piece like Iron Man.

Brand recognition. They want people to say "Hey, I remember that thing from when I was a kid!" and go watch it. It doesn't matter what the person actually sees on screen once they get there. At least with the original movie, they got the team and characters from the tv series so seeing them on screen was neat. Even TMNT 2 had trouble at the box office, I don't think this is going to be a huge hit.
